It’s road trip time. With plenty of places out east that have yet to be explored, OzHockeyChick and I set off to see some sights in Gippsland.
A nice quick stop on the way up to the mountain to grab this one. OzHockeyChick went one side, I went the other. RoamingHowie for the win here! Cache in good condition.
Thanks ahomburg for adding this cache to the worldwide collection for us all to enjoy.

Stopped on the start of our journey home especially for this one which we found easily close to the beginning of the Beech Trail.
While Mrs Riddell plucked the cache from its hidey hole, Mr Riddell noted the colony of hundreds of Autumn flowering Mountain Greenhoods, lining both sides of the track.

What a beautiful trail...I almost walked passed GZ thought I was looking for another spot I stopped and thought this would be a good spot for a cache, luckily i checked with the phone because yes my thoughts turned out to be spot on.
Found 9:26am
A last minute decision was hatch to take the day and return to one of my favourite areas. The focus today was to tackle the remaining unfound caches on the mountain.
OMG, this took some real effort and bloody hands to extract this from its tomb, glad I was feeling rather paintence today, a relief to have log signed. Rehid in a different spot as a real risk it gets stuck again. Nearly thought I would need the jack hammer or the Jaws of life to get the cache free.

We'd spied this spot on our rambles and pegged it for a picnic so today was our last chance, absolutely idyllic spot...and with a cache as well, what more could ya ask for all in good order tho the cache did slip a bit further back into its little hidey hole than it had been originally but still eminently retrievable....if you don't have arthritic fingers
Found it together with Lindamärta. This is my first cach in Australia. I'm from Sweden, here on vaccation. TFTC
The was hidden in plain sight! We play a game in our family where each person who locates the cache says ‘I spy’, so that everyone gets a turn and finding them! We all enjoyed spotting this one from afar. Such a beautiful walk along this trail in the snow, thanks for bringing us here
Tftc BaLuke & Belle Akele. Bandyoda's big baw baw day out commenced with some drive bys on the way up and then as many on foot as time permitted. Finished up with a reasonable haul over 9.6 km on simply a brilliant Easter day.
This was the first target on the walking circuit. Cache and log in fine condition.

Well a smiley and I lifted here.
Not a tough hide but none the less after too many DNF's I was happy to find this one.
Nice little walk from the road nearby where I parked.
Signed and moved on.

After an extremely long enforced break that many cachers had to take during this year. Either way I was keen to get out and sign my name in some tupperware.
So tagging along with ahomburg today on a nice stroll and maintenance trip up on Baw Baw. Once again I have been here in summer more times then I have in winter. And every time I think to myself how weird it is to see how empty they are.
Anyways thanks for the cache and taking me to the beautiful part of Victoria.

Decided to spend TB of KTB’s birthday exploring Mount Baw Baw Village and finding some caches. This was the third find of the day. TB found this one. TFTC.
Looked for this one on my way down as I didn't stop when I was coming up, parked near the camera and gave them a wave as I headed off to find the cache. TFTC
After attending an event in Walhalla, we decided` to make our way up to this area to pick up a few more caches. Well this one had me going around in circles, the GPS just wouldnt settle. So after a bit of going around in circles we finally made the find. TFTC BaLuke & BelleAkelea
This weekend, the WF Waters Ski Lodge are celebrating their 50th year of operation, and so I was up at the lodge cooking up a nice big spit roast to feed the masses! After getting the spit going, we went for a walk along the beech trail and grabbed some caches.
This hide was very sneaky, and we had crawled and climbed over every inch of GZ three or four times before we made the find. While I signed the log, my geosidekick found some particularly soft moss to play with, and think of ways to use it as carpet at home. Weird, but a quick google showed that people actually make bath mats out of moss.
Thanks for taking us down this path, baluke!

Up to grab a few caches on a day drive. Stopped here before leaving the area. Nice little spot. Tyftc we will be back!
We decided to just pick up a few caches in the MT Baw Baw area as we were not able to do a comprehensive sweep of the area. This cache was not a problem in any way and we soon performed all duties and we on our way up again. Thank you to baluke for another mountain cache.
Found this one on our second beautiful and clear but windy day up here. TFTC.
I came up here this weekend to finish my D/T combination, hopefully with Wab #7. On my way in this afternoon I gathered 8 caches in this series, including Da Money, Flat Tyres, Lichen, Old Lift, Mini Mushy, Kiss Teacher, Snow Chains and Between Rock and Hard Place.
I love the alpine environment above 1500m amongst the snowgums. A quick find on this pretty corner.
The weather was cool but perfect and not a soul about this Friday afternoon.
Thanks baluke for this great series

We rolled into this in not so mushy condition, as the evening had just started, and immediately zeroed in on a likely area despite one of the stoopid Garmins not wanting to be a GPS anymore, and pointing off some where in the middle fore ground, or background...it doesn't know.
So, after a surprisingly quick search, Dad lucked it by spotting the lid out the corner of his eye and we both cheered as it meant not getting any more mushyer.
Thanks baluke for the cool series.

A drive by leaving the mountain, for the day.
took me awhile in the fading light - had to get the torch out.
Thanks baluke

I met the Geelong boys along the South Face Road for an awesome day of caching doing the WAB WAB series of caches on Mt. Baw Baw. Along with Jacko83, one half of The Tritonz and Jag2612 we biked, hiked and bush bashed (a little) our way around the absolutely fabulous terrain and scenery that is Mt. Baw Baw. I had never been there before and the views all around were spectacular. We couldn't have asked for better weather and it was in fact so warm that the asphalt in the car park was melting to our shoes.
We started at the bottom of the mountain and worked our way up the road to the carpark where we donned our bike helmets and mounted our bikes. From there we rode, and pushed our bikes up some steep inclines, over grassy 'fields' and even at one point carried them through some thick scrub land. During the whole day we only saw three other people so we pretty well had the mountain to ourselves.
Onto the caches, and the hides varied from quick finds to spending some time searching high and low but in the end we found all the caches that were available for us to find. What can I say, other than this is what caching is all about; awesome location, perfect weather, great company and fun, along with a fantastic series of caches to find. What better way to finish of the day with a nice cold beer in the bar with the boys with fantastic views out of the windows.
A big thanks to Baluke for the caches we found today.

One half of the tritonz had to work so the other half along with Jacko83, Jag2612 and Quasar3671 set out on a mission to do the Baw Baw series. We took our bikes along to help on the journey even though half the time we were pushing them up the steep hills or carrying them through bushes to take short cuts. We all had an awesome time with beautiful weather and great company. Its hard to imagine this place under snow, we will have to come back in winter just to check it out. Thanks baluke for placing this series in this amazing area.
Headed up here from Geelong at 5am with Jag2612 and Tritonz, and met Quasar3671 on the way. Bikes packed, eski's and sunscreen.
Hd a ball up here today on Mt Baw Baw doing this caches - what a great place to visit. No snow this time of year, and bitchumen in carpark so hot it melted out shoes! Fantastic day with no dnfs. All caches were in good nick, some tricker than others.
Thanks baluke for taking me caching in a great part of Victoria - memorable! And thanks lads for a great day!
Nice spot to stop and rest.

Find #1829
Today I headed to Mount Baw Baw with Stemicmitsar with the intention of finding caches that would help me qualify for the "Lonely Cache" challenge and both of us qualify for the "Significant Hike" challenge.
One of the easier caches in this series. Easier to get and easier to find than a number of the others. SL TFTC

Well it was a bit of a last minute decision to go caching and Slink1 and I decided to head out Mt Baw Baw way. It was one of those days where we seemed to make it harder than it needed to be but we still had fun. TNLN TFTC SL
Dunko and I decided to head off to Baw Baw today, turned out to be a great day for caching with the warm weather. we managed to collect many other caches in our travels. A very big thank-you to baluke for the time and effort in the placement of this cache
Baw Baw has many attractions this weekend. JosieY has done a crazy marathon. Tomorrow there's an orienteering event. Today for me it's geocaching. Nice spot out here, but I didn't bring any food for a picnic.
We were on a mission to get back to Village central restaurant before 7pm so we wouldn't miss out on our meal. This was to be our last at 6.30 and it took a bit to find. Once found, we walked back along the road and straight to the restaurant for a Grazing Plate to share and a lovely cold Corona. What a great day of caching and a very enjoyable meal. Thanks so much baluke for creating the challenge.

Headed out today with four members of the BWWC for some Oxfam Trailwalker 2014 Training. There was Myself, BernieH, Day1976 and a Muggle, trailwalker. The weather was looking good, so it was a great opportunity for some walking and caching. We parked in a lower car park and headed up the track.
The last find of the day before we plodded down the hill towards the car. A nice little track and Day found it without too much trouble.
Thanks to Baluke & BelleAkelea for the cache.

Travelled down to Mount Baw Baw to do some walking as training for Oxfam Trailwalker Melbourne in May and to grab a couple of geocaches on the way. Training today with ahomburg, day1976 and a non caching mate, we met at "Show Me Da Money WAB WAB 22" and drove up and parked at "Old Lift WAB WAB 17". From here we headed off on foot up the mountain bike track, wondered around the village for a couple of hours and returned back down the road to the car for the return trip home.
Nice short sojourn from the road. Nice rocks.
Thanks for the cache baluke

A training day for Oxfam with Bernie, Adriaan and a muggle mate. A nice day out, whilst Melbourne swealtered in 30+ degrees, I don't think it topped 20 up here on the mountain.
Last find for the day after a very enjoyable day on the mountain. Pretty easy pick up. Thanks Baluke for a great series of caches. Pitty we missed one, will be back for it and the others that I know are soon to come
