Had problem with one number, maybe it’s been updated? Cache took bit of a search — GZ overgrown + container probably rolled. Returned it to logical possie. Could barely etch name into soggy log. Still good to claim, thanks the Seagnoid!
#110 Found with my mum Gr33nslime and perhaps my dad JimmyNZ. Trying the mass logging thing with GSAK hence the really general log entry!
Out today with Gr33nslime and DangerSAM to have a look around the local area and polish off a few more mysteries. Gr33nslime had solved this a while ago so to get ride of a dot day DangerSAM and I came along. The drive out tho the cache was pretty easy. I think we took the most scenic route but its a nice area. When we pulled up to GZ I had the geo-phone on the cache and let it point out the general direction we should go in. Arming Gr33nslime with the hint and a vague wave of 'me cellphone says its over there' she set off to locate her reward. Yeah yeah I should have known my cellphone is not that reliable. She couldn't find it, well she did find a whole lot of green waste and a nasty spiky plant, but no cache. Back pedaling a little the handy GPS was soon booted up and the co ords inserted. Yes yes what a surprise its another 8m over that way.. what there is a handy path to it that doesn't involve shards of razor barbed plants in the way. Ok so sooner or later i'll learn that the cellphone is not the best caching tool. Main point is we found the cache and get to tick another one off for this region. Thanks for the cache. Took nothing left nothing.
# 927 I had solved this a while ago, and then forgot that I had solved it, and so revisited it and realised I had got a couple of the numbers wrong despite hitting the checksum. Re doing the whole puzzle I found there was some discrepancy in one of the numbers from various sources (maybe they had reweighed this item again recently??) I used a number which made the check sum balance, and then found a resource that agreed with my claim and got some okay looking coords in the end.
Making the find i had an encounter with a very prickly plant, which wasnt even near the GZ. Try the other end, even if it seems to be the less logical location.

I quickly realised what was needed to solve this puzzle. Took the opportunity while in PN visiting Dad to head out and claim this.
GZ was very swampy. Cache had fallen quite far into hollow. Wish I'd brought my gloves! Log getting damp but still signable. After signing I replaced a little higher up.

We are in Palmerston North for a few days as support crew for our daughter and son-in-law who are walking the Te Araroa Trail. After walking the Tongariro Crossing with them a few days ago we are now taking some caching time to find as many of our solved Manawatu puzzles as possible, along with just a few other cache types.
We knew most of these Famous Numbers (after 8 years of puzzle cache solving you learn a thing or two about numbers!) but we had to research one or two of them. Today we were pleased to make the find and sign off on this one. Thanks.

A good puzzle I enjoyed solving. One of the numbers looked slightly familiar a bit of research and I was away laughing. No problems at GZ this afternoon. And that other number, yip certainly one should look out for and take notice of. TFTC
A small tweak to the numbers after a quick discussion with colleague and bingo. The final location was very busy with traffic late afternoon but being a wet dismal day nobody really gave me much attention. Got a bit wet and muddy claiming it. A good workout for my small brain figuring this one out. TFTC
Worked out the puzzle last night and took the opportunity of an early start to grab before work. Final location a bit muddy and the long grass damp. TFTC
Today is number 183 on our daily streak. 6 months! Proud to have got this far and happy to have another puzzle cache checked off! This took a while of checking. We kept getting different coordinates. But finally we narrowed it down to only 1 number varying by 1 degree which hardly moved the gps pin at all. So we hoped when we got to the rough GZ the hint would get us to the cache. Sure enough we were right and it was a quick find.
Thanks for the puzzle. It was a good one!
Thanks for the puzzle. It was a good one!
Down with Tara Ted NP to PN for the CITO so had a chance to get puzzled nice one TFTC
It did take some time to figure out that this was more than the normal number sequence puzzle. Not really having the background to recognize any sequence given I resorted to the www and fortunately got some possibilities. After meandering back and forth for some considerable time I finally had the answers. Google earth confirmed it and the extra digit nearby. Visited it after the CITO event this morning. tftc
Jesso 22 is right. Some one changed the sequences on me. Have updated the puzzle to match. This hould make Etherlord happier - it now using one of his favourite sequences!
Solved this cache some time ago and forgot I had already solved it and I solved it again. Trying to get a cache a day for a while at the moment so this was todays cache. Puzzle was cool. Recognised all but one of the numbers as I used them a lot during my science degree. Just thought I would point out though that since this cache was published two of these numbers have been updated and the last couple of digits were slightly changed meaning you need to look up old versions of them as the other sources now have a different number. Thanks for the cache!
Found thanks, with help from another (thanks!) highlighting a couple of rounding errors. Easy find at the location. Guy riding a trail bike asked me what I was doing, apparently wondering if it was me that had dumped a bag of rubbish just there. Having assured him I detest the practice and cycle to work past more trash than I care to think about, he invited us to come along to their trail bike meet next weekend. Cool. Thanks for the puzzle and cache, another interesting one from the Seagnoid.
Find one & DNF another...
I wasn't 100% on my numbers at the time so gave up early and went home.

Sorry just realised I hadn't logged this as found, signed log on 18th of October. Fun puzzle, TFTC
I solved this mystery a good 8 months ago but was never so sure about GZ, even tho the hint made sense. Today I decided to revisit the puzzle and came up with co-ords with 2 transposed #s which made more sense. Interesting numbers...that I probably will never use again Easy park & grab. TFTC
This cache fits in nicely as I celebrate my 200th find!!

some of the numbers i reckonised but the others no,but soon sorted that out, then off to sign log tftc.
Solved this one a while ago and we were trying to get 7 cache types in a day, so this one got chosen to be done. Had to search twice to find it in the same place we first looked. Thanks for the cache. Did with Wandering Dragons, Violet Butterfly and Astro Hunter
Cache # 2,448 - a team effort required here. Did with Crystal Fairy, MycroMan, Violet Butterfly and Astro Hunter. TNLNSL. TFTC!

Solved this a while ago and just got around to logging the cache.
Cool puzzles new a few of the numbers so not to hard. Bit of development around the hide. So a little busy with muggles. THTC another cool one.

Another fun Puzzle... it was fascinating researching some of these irrational numbers I hadn't thought about since high school!

Last summer the idea was born to visit [Green]'New Zealand'[/Green], together with [url=http://coord.info/PR3NXJG][red]'MimiNemo'[/red][/url]
After some important decisions regarding the beginning of our trip, the flights, the general route and the car were made, the most important question was still unanswered: which caches can we visit during our tour [?]
To get an answer for this topic I was fetching almost every cache from both islands [8)][:X]
[url=http://coord.info/PR3NXJG][red]'MimiNemo'[/red][/url] and I love [Teal]'Geo-Arts'[/Teal]...so we added all these cache series to our wish list
After this decision was made this list was more than 300 puzzle caches long...unsolved puzzle caches
Two weeks before Christmas it was getting time to start solving all these mystery caches
Even with the different language I could find almost every solution
In the case I was not so successful I was contacting some of the CO's...and was always getting help from them...many thanks for this support [:X]
During the following weeks our cache list was growing and growing...meanwhile more than 1000 caches long...too long for a simple bookmark list from GC
Time to get our route and caches in sync...time to save the PQ's to our Garmins...time to start this holiday:
Chapter 18: [Green]Martinborough[/Green] to [red]Palmerston-North[/red]
For this day we had a lot of unknown caches from 'skindo' at our wish list...but we also stopped for some other caches
This cache was one of these caches
I would like to thank all the cache owners for showing us these great places and maintaining all these caches,

#5848. See, it's all about the numbers. Interesting puzzle. Quick find. TNLNSL. TFTC.
Got the answers with the help of Google and Mr E who has a scientific mind. Checked with geodatum that our calculated final was correct, which it was - thanks for the confirmation geodatum. Thanks for another clever puzzle Seagnoid.
Very nice puzzle, took me a little bit to work out what it was about, but an enjoyable one to solve.

I really enjoyed the puzzle and it was fun discovering the famous numbers. Picked up the smilie today in an unusual place for GZ.

Cool puzzle based on some famous numbers, counted down for a quick find here, TFTC.
Solved this one ages ago, but have never gotten around to retrieving it... Quick find at the GZ, TFTC!
had me looking all over net for these famous numbers but got there in the end . picked up buzz travel racer . tftc
The puzzle had us stumped for a while, which it shouldn’t have, as one of the numbers should have been instantly recognizable, however markhnz pointed us in the right direction, and we soon had the answers. The cache was a quick easy find today, with hannahhnz. TFTC
It took me a while to work out all the famous numbers and then to get the check sum to balance. Once I had the final co-ordinates it was an easy find in the 1st place I looked. TFTC
Man I love google!!! As my partner always says 'Just google it' LOL
Enjoyed this puzzle as I learnt a few new things along the way. Was in the area today to be able to pick up the actual cache. TFTPC

Solved this one as soon as it was published. Recognized a few of the numbers and after that figured out the trick to solving the rest. A quick find at the final. Dropped off TB and picked one up too! TFTC.
Only recognised one of the numbers although I had vaguely heard of some of the others. Quick find at GZ this evening, TFTC, #6356
Fun puzzle. Recognized a few numbers straight away having used them a lot over the last few years studying Chemistry. Easy find once in the right place. TFTC

#7088. Good to be able to find a number of solved puzzles while passing through Palmie. TFTC.
We had spent most of the day in Feilding and wanted to head over to the Wairarapa, but couldn't drive through Palmy without picking up all the puzzles we had solved.
This was an interesting puzzle; got some of the number quickly, but others took a little longer with some research. And a quick find then off to the next cache. TFTC.

This one took me a while to solve as I just couldn't get one of the numbers right...
After multiple tries using different methods/sources, I sat the CO down and we nutted out what I was doing wrong.
Having finally got the checksum to balance, I saved this find for a dot-day.
Today was that day.
Very quick find on the way home from Bible Study at Whakarongo.
I note this cache doesn't use one of my favourite famous number, the Golden Ratio.
It also doesn't use Acceleration due to Gravity, however Stardust has already used this one...
One that it does use is [redacted]. This has a 'special' meaning for me as my room number at Walter Dyer hostel when I was studying at Massey was room 4 of wing 1 of floor 3
Thanks for the challenge, and for helping fill my last dot-day in January

Not sure how many times we have driven past GZ since solving this puzzle some time ago but Mr All7ofusNZ finally made the most of an early evening opportunity to claim a spot in the logbook. Quick find, TFTC.
It seems I started this puzzle at a disadvantage by not having a university education and by only being able to recognise one of the famous numbers. However, through some hard work and persistence, I soon arrived at a solution that satisfied the checksum. It was an easy find at GZ but I failed to sight the large number. Thanks for the cache; a good learning exercise for me.
We puzzled over this for some time until Mr G. suddenly got the point of these collections of numbers! Certainly Maths knowledge is needed. Pleased to claim this on new year's eve and bring our 2013 geocaching year to a satisfying end. TFTC
An interesting puzzle to solve, helped by my mother to figure out all the numbers. At GZ I was pleased to find suitable parking (as I was worried about this having checked it out on Google maps) and it was easy to locate the container. TFTC.
Solved 4 of the questions and reverse engineered the missing two to find the final. Had a poor look a couple of weeks ago and after confirming with a recent finder I was on the right trail I swung by today for the find
Nice puzzle, thanks the Seagnoid

Knew what a few numbers were straight away and started recognizing the other upon Googling them.
I was a little skeptical of the location but sure enough there it was.

I enjoyed solving this one, it taught me a few things too.

Managed to work this one out the day it was published. Turns out you don't have to have a university degree to solve it.
Decided to pick it up before heading to the event day in Ashhurst - don't want those question marks hanging around our caching map if we can possibly turn them into smiley's
Left a pet rock -( sorry can't remember what one - maybe a pig?) & took the TB. TFTC

Had a lot of fun working out these famous numbers, spent some time scavenging all over the internet before landing the coords and scooping the easy to find cache! TFTC
After a little research I found what I was looking for and had the co-ords worked out..soon had cache in hand..TFTC!!
Finally 5 years at massey started to pay off for MAKESHlFT, nzmunzey and I with this puzzle cache. Decided to go for the closer caches in town before picking this one up last tonight. TFTC
The university education definitely helped with this one but decided to get as many ftfs as possible instead of heading straight to the spot, can't get them all, but you can at least try tftc!
I recognised one of the numbers and guessed what another two of them were. It didn't take long to find two more with some help from the internet and then I just used the checksum to calculate the last number.
A quick find in the final location.
Thanks.

Thanks.
Our science majors came in handy for me, kcoley and nzmunzey, and we had the coords inside a few minutes of the cache being posted. Decided to chase the 3 new listings closer to our location before heading out to this one, and found we had missed out on the FTF - d'oh!
Couldn't see the "large famous number" due to the darkness, but will keep an eye out next time I'm out that way.
Cheers seagnoid, a cool puzzle.
