Thanks for the Cache BernieH,We camped at Picking point this cup weekend. This morning I took my new Electric push bike towards Goff's bay to pick up a few supplies but more importantly to cross off a few Caches. Bracks Bridge reserve was in good form today, certainly will go on my picnic area list. Treasure was found in great condition. Regards from Victourer

Whilst staying at the sheer time s*** at Mansfield. We came out on this very wet day full stop picked up the clothes but found the wheelchairs looking in the wrong place rang a friend and they put it right, picked up the clue. Thanks for the cache

What a delightful spot and plenty of safe off road parking to use. I collected the information I needed and sat at a nearby table to enjoy the area and work out my coordinates. Ah! So close, but up and over or down and under? Luckily first choice was the right one and the cache was found tucked away in a nice safe, dry location. All was in good condition.

Great cache for us to get back into cachingThanks

It was super long weekend time! The forecast was for cracking weather and a group of us were all set up along the Delatite Arm on Lake Eildon. We had spotted details of this waterhole earlier on so set off to explore today. There were a few families and a dog swimming nearby, however they didnt impact our calculations and retrieval of the discreet cache. Thanks BernieH for adding this entire series to the worldwide collection for us all to enjoy. It was a great day out!----------------------------------------------------------Have you found all of the 12 Days of Cachemas series? With a long weekend of beautiful weather, we were camped at nearby Blue Gum Flat.We drove down to check out this swimming hole. There were a couple of vehicles with families enjoying the cool water, but they paid us no attention as we gathered the required information and headed to gz where RoamingHowie spotted the cache snuggly tucked away in its perfect hidey hole. Thanks for bringing us here by placing this cache, BernieH ~~

Found on a trip to Bonnie Doon to visit the father in law, the river is really flowing at the moment.

Cache found with dalerious Cool on our way back to our accommodation from washing the copious amounts of mud off the Hilux in Mansfield Big Grin.

What a lovely park. It is such a shame to see the damage from the recent floods. The park itself was closed, but the info board and cache are accessible. Thank you BernieH Cool.

It was that time of year again, although a different monarchs birthday to celebrate. Who would have thunk it that we would celebrate a Kings birthday this year, instead of our dearest Queen's.

Spending the long weekend with our muggle friends in Jamieson Big Grin. Saturday was spent hitting a small ball around a soggy manicured expance of lawn at Mansfield, and Sunday was caching day Big Grin.
This year we brought the Hilux, and I was itchin' to turn silver to tan.
We achieved that by picking the road to Licola. The road was average to the Mt Sunday and Silvermine Spur tracks. It all turned to the proverbial past that intersection, but we pushed on after one of the party left their vehicle at the parking point at the aforementioned intersection, and hopped in the other vehicle in the group.

It was an awesome drive in the mud, but there were a couple of members that were none too happy with the conditions, so we got up to Mystery Stone Hut and then turned back to Jamieson Sad. There were a few incidents on a few of the tracks around the area this weekend. When we got back to "the intersection" to pick up the other car, there was a group of guys with an assortment of 4wd's pulled up, some with slight damage to their vehicles due to one of their party coming adrift and ending up in a tree. They ended up breaking 2 winches as well as a multitude of snatch straps [xx(].

There were 2 caches up Mt Sunday track that I wanted, dalerious got ftf on them before we met, so I was looking forward to going to get them myself, but this was not the weekend to do it; too much rain meant things could end badly, and we would also be just another statistic. Just not worth it.

So our group of 2 cachers and once a year honorary group of cachers (muggles) went on to find other doable caches instead. This made the timid passengers happy, so it was win, win all the way.
We didn't sign many logs this weekend, but we sure as hell had a good time, seeing some awesome sights and spending some quality time with good people Cool.

Maybe we shouldn't have been able to find this one, but cat' and I couldn't resist stepping over the orange tape to read the info board. Twisted

Found with my partner catnap777 on Sunday of the first Kings Birthday long weekend. Big Grin
The Queen is dead. Long live the King. Cool

A couple of my childhood mates and I always kept in touch by getting together on the June long weekend for our annual golf game "somewhere different". [^]
Now, we all have partners and families but we kept up the tradition still going away all together even now as the youngest kids enter adulthood, but now, we lads golf on Saturday and we all cache on the Sunday. Big Grin
This year, we stayed in Jamieson, golfing in Mansfield. [^]

TFTC BernieH. Big Grin The park may be temporarily out of action undergoing works, but there is nothing wrong with the clean dry cache.Cool

Staying at Bonnie Doon with pinnacle 333 we had a drive to Goughs Bay.
Bracks Bridge is our favourite swimming hole, and we have spent many hours in the ‘spa’
An easy multi to finish the day in our special place. Thanks BernieH

13-Mar-23
With echidna44. This was a simple multi to finish our caching filled day. This is a favourite spot of ours to visit in the summer, and how funny that there has been a cache hiding here for many years!! Thanks for creating another great memory for us at this magical place BernieH.

Starting the trip home after a delivery on the lake shore... tipping it'll take at least twice as long as it took to get here.

A slight detour off our road home.

The family set up in the middle of the flow nearby definitely had the right idea on this lovely afternoon.

Thanks, BernieH... lovely to see you and Annie.

Logic sent me straight to the cache's hiding place once we calculated the coordinates.

After dropping off a load of steel to a nearby property, nirgalagrin and I decided to cache our way out of the area. As you do in a ten tonne truck. Wink
A nice easy offset multi here. Although there was a family enjoying the river beside the bridge, we were nicely sheltered at GZ. Smile

Thank you, BernieH, for the cache and Annie for the delicious piping hot muffins. [^]

I found this today at the end of a short ride with friends. As they headed back to camp, I went looking for this fellow. Plenty of people at this reserve, blowing up inflated floating devices to explore the river, but I was able to gather the info, and find the cache without being noticed.
Thanks BernieH.

With a forecast of strong wind and more rain later in the day, we set out for a morning of caching to the south of Mansfield. What a fun multi. The devil was certainly on show at the bridge today - no chance of swimming! Like other, we got tricked by one of the questions.

Satellites today had our calculated GZ 8m SSE of where we found the cache.

Thanks to BernieH for adding this cache to the gameboard.

On a Geocaching weekend with day1976 and my little Jimny. We camped at Running Creek for two nights, and went out on adventures from there.
Fin question was tricky, as we also miss-read the question and missed the word red!! Also day1976 can't see red.

13-Feb-22
Found this cache on yet another adventure with Ilukaperi. Driving her little Suzuki Jimny over mountains and through rivers, it was a wonderfully adventurous day.

Having made our way up to camp at Running Creek last night, we got up early this morning with plans for a big loop. Off to the old slate mine on Mitchells track, then descending down and down Howqua Hills Track to the Howqua river. Following the tracks through the camping areas to Sheep yard Flat and beyond, before heading north the Merijig, then across to Goughs Bay, before heading back to camp.

Took us a while to work out GZ but that was purely because we (Iluka) didn't read the description properly. In the end we got there and realized the cache wasn't in the middle of Lake Eildon, it was much much much closer.

Thanks for the cache!

I left them to it and went fishing for answers as to where I might catch a cache hereabouts Razz

A short stroll away and after casting a glance,

#4139 11:00 am

Could have guessed where this one was, but seeing as I wasn't really dressed for a swim like the others that were already here, the working out of the numbers gave perfect cover for what I was really doing.
Managed to make the grab and sign the log as muggles were on the opposite side of the parked vehicles and I was hidden out of view.
Warm day today, and plenty more showing up for a swim as I was leaving, found it just in time.

TNLN , TFTC , Cheers.

After descending from The Paps we headed south towards Goughs Bay area and this cache popped up on our radar. We needed the help of our midget mates (vertically challenged, not children, although sometimes I wonder) who had already located this cache yesterday because our GPS was taking us to the muddy edge of the Delatite River! Anyway after a bit of *"you're cold . . . getting warmer . . . no, you dope not that way" etc.* we finally located the cache hide.

Thanks again to "BernieH" for bringing us to this lovely picnic area beside the Delatite. If it wasn't for this cache I probably would driven straight past. In fact I've actually driven straight past on past visits to the area and not even noticed this area. I'll need to mark this place in my OziExplorer as a waypoint to visit again . . . and hopefully have a picnic next time!

Up at Mansfield for a few days and decided to do some of the L.E.G. caches. After finding the cache at Howes Creek, we were heading across to Gough's Bay and came across this lovely little reserve and bridge on the way and decided to stop for a look, and there was a simple multi to do. After completing the puzzle we soon had the cache in hand. The river was definitely flowing very fast today. TFTC and bring us to this great little park on the banks of the river. TNLN.

Well having found #1 well you have to find #2 right..., which is what happenBig Grin. The river today was flowing very quickly and at this time the sun was out and shinning so myself & icefoxy sat at the picnic table enjoying the afternoon conditions with a few jam drop biscuits before moving on.

Weather no good for skiing so a bit of caching. This is second attempt as last summer the grass was too long and the fear of snakes won.
This time it still took a while as the phone jumped about a bit, but I found where I think dad already looked

03-Jul-16
this was our second attempt, last time was summer and the grass was high, and so too was he fear of snakes for Legomango9. After doing the calculations I ended up in the middle of nowhere and gave up.

This visit was in winter so snakes weren't a worry. Legomango9 did the math and we debated over what was a "fin" and whether it included the tail. we debated and went with my version, which was 1.5 km away. So Legomango9 was right. after plugging in his results we set off and still ended up in the middle of nowhere. after some time of searching trees, shrubs, under and above the bridge, finally Legomango9 yelled "found it"
I can't believe that after checking all the likely spots I had not looked there.

06-Jan-16
There were plenty of muggles about in this lovely spot when we arrived, but we managed to retrieve, log, and replace the cache without anyone noticing. One father had even set his camp chair up in the water to keep his feed cool while he watched the kids in the water. Thanks for bringing us here and thanks for the cache.

Hi there BernieH. We found your cache "Devils River #02 - Bracks Bridge" at 12:34:00 PM today. This cache makes our find count 10448.
[Blue]
This is our second day on the Geo-tour, so please forgive our boilerplate logs, hopefully they won't detract from the great caches we found today.

Once again our day started before the birds. We watched the the sun rise through the early morning mist and the smoke from the reduction burns that were carried out while we were out yesterday.

Again we started out wearing jumpers as the thermometer said it was only eight degrees this morning, but pretty soon we had our jumpers off and were down to our usual shorts and tee shirts as the day warmed up.

Of course we also had to collect all the other caches that were on our route as well. Thanks for making the day so interesting.
[/Blue]
Coordinate Accuracy: We found the cache around 7m from where the GPS said we should be looking. Wink
Cache Condition: The container and log book are in good shape.
Took: Nothing.
Left: Smiley Badge.
Thanks for the hunt today,
Regards
Ian & Penny.

PS: Is a tail a fin?

07-Feb-15
We were actually travelling to another cache when we spotted a beautiful area near the creek which was so inviting we decided it was a great spot to have a short break for lunch. The bonus of this spot was the multi cache Big Grin There were people everywhere, swimming, eating and having fun so we weren't too confident that we'd be able to finish it. We gathered the required info and trotted off to GZ which was far enough away from all the muggles. Did our duties, took a few photo's and left the area smiling Big Grin Thanks for the fun BernieH

07-Feb-15
The beauty of caching......being taken to such idyllic locations such as this one! When we arrived in the car park there was much oohing and arrhing in the GAV, how nice is this place Big Grin. Even better, there was a vacant table and chairs in the shade, just the place to enjoy our lunch whilst soaking in the surrounds Big Grin. There were only three other groups in the area as well so we virtually had the place to ourselves. After enjoying a sit and a chat we casually started collating the numbers for GZ. With the numbers crunched and plugged into our GPSr's it was a short stroll to GZ. The GeoPrincess opted out of the retrieval process as she is deterred from any place that might house 8 legged arthropods, instead admiring the gently flowing river was the softer option that suited her best Razz. SkullDad made the retrieval so it was just a matter of making our mark in the log book before returning the cache to its pozy. We really recommend that cachers take the opportunity to stop at this picturesque spot, our thanks to BernieH for encouraging us here. Certainly a favourite for the location. Cheers [^]

07-Feb-15
After a long morning of driving and finding caches, this was a perfect spot to have a refreshing lunch.
When we first parked, Dad found a new friend and had a lengthy conversation about tyres. While he was having a good old chat, the ladies and I decided to have lunch. Soon, Dad came back over and joined us for lunch and a nice chat while taking in the surroundings.
The cache itself was a good hide, but a little too cobweby for me. But I guess that's just the teenage girl side of me talking.
TFTC, just a shame we couldn't stay longer. ☺

Day 2 of our return trip to the area to finish off the Geotour that we started last November. Spent last night in Mansfield, and started working our way round in reverse. We really enjoyed this little multi and the lovely spot it brought us to. There was a young family there trying their luck with a bit of fishing. They saw us writing our notes and asked us if we were good at fishing. We chatted for a while about the delights of fishing and we all enjoyed standing near the river and watching the water bubble over the rocks. They went back to their picnic rug and totally ignored us while we wandered off to find the cache. Thank you BernieH for such a relaxed and pleasurable experience.

21-Jan-15
Found with Liz & Bruce. We were doing the L.E.G. so had forgone the other Devil's River multi, but were glad that we did this one. Nice and short and in a nice spot, although you can't camp here.

As part of our visit to Victoria we are delighted to have been able to include the Lake Eildon Geo Tour in our itinerary. We started our travels in Queensland back in December and it was fortunate that while in Myrtleford we heard about this scenic adventure. A phone call later and we had made plans with our friend Alansee to team up for two and a half days to complete this series and other wonderful caches in the localities we visited. Such fun collecting the info we needed, so much to remember at each spot and photos not to be forgotten. The scenery has been awesome and there is no way we would have ever visited these places without the geotour. The tour has been a real highlight of our travels. Fav point alloc. Big GrinBig Grin Thanks to BernieH for placing this cache and showing us this beautiful area.

Have a feeling I have a counting problem :I and have the wrong location
Lots of trampled grass wher I think it should be.
Will have to check again another day.

21-Dec-14
Found with LouiseAnn while doing the L.E.G geotour. We had a car in front of us making a lot of dust so pulled over to do this one. Coordinates had me investigating a tree around 143 away and as I was giving up I methodically checked each possible area on my way back to the car before spotting the cache. It was where I expected it to be before trusting the gps. Tftc

21-Dec-14
We picked this cache up at 9:17am. Not sure what we did wrong with the numbers, as we were both lead a merry trip before Sharkiefan ignored the GPS and just looked where she'd hide the cache, and there it was.

It was going to be a big weekend, but Sharkiefan and I were determined to get the Lake Eildon GeoTour in the bag before Christmas and the crowds arrived. It was two full days (and a flat tire at the end) but we did it, and some other caches. Thanks for the cache BernieH.

10-Dec-14
Travelling on the east side of Eildon with BettyBoo3747 to complete the L.E.G. series.
Grabbed a few others on the way.
A lovely picnic spot! Unfortunately we had already had our lunch, but we did stop for afternoon tea.
Again remembered to collect our clue.
Thanks for bringing us here.
Thanks, Robmc.

# 7224. Day 2 in the area. After a late start we headed back towards Mansfield to collect the last four L.E.G. caches and a few others along the way. A fabulous lunch of special Bushmen's sausages from Alexandra cooked on the BBQ at Goughs Bay kept us going through the afternoon.

What a nice surprise this place was. Very inviting and peaceful today with a good view of the bridge from ground level and a lot of water babbling along and looking very inviting indeed. Found the cache and then returned to the picnic table near the river to have our snacks. Pity we couldn't stay longer here, but onwards we must go.

Thanks BernieH

We are Touring Australia but had heard about the GeoTour. So we moved our caravan to Brooks Cutting and today was our first day exploring the region.

Stopped here for this cache on our GeoTour. Made a mistake on the calcs but it wasn't the one referred to by others. On a recheck of our 'maths' the problem was fixed. Surprised

Got this nice offset cache while doing the final test run for the Lake Eildon GeoTour launching tomorrow. What a beautiful location! Thanks for the reason to stop here Smile

25-Oct-14
Wow what an amazing park. We marvelled at how well it's maintained and wish our council did the same. Excellent facilities, there was even freshly cut firewood for a fire. A great spot to stop and try your hand at fishing and a safe place for swimming. The cache on the other hand proved more tricky but only because I did my best to over think it Smile. Fav point for me and a must stop spot for others.

25-Oct-14
Well this was a complete surprise to me. I was out planting caches for the GeoTour when we came upon this amazing location. We stopped and took some time investigating the site and working through the directions. We got it eventually, however it did require a revisit after initially heading off in the wrong direction.
A great cache in a brilliant location. Well done. TFTC.
