A later start for work on Thursdays has now allowed me to get out for an hour or two before the daily grind. Today I targeted 2 caches close to home that I need for a challenge cache. This was the second of two. I made my way to the end of the road and parked at the suggested co-ordinates. Made my way down the fire trail that was quite lovely this morning! I soon found my way over to GZ, where after a few minutes of checking all the wrong spots I soon found the cache well tucked away. TFTC Spinna76!
What a nice spot for a cache: out of the eyes of muggles, a nice little track, (for a while) and a cute hide-away for a cache.
This cache was on my radar, interestingly, because of it’s publication date. I needed a cache and was around the general vicinity, so that was all it took. Looks like a nice area, as I drove the nearby streets, heading towards GZ.
Then once I got to the trail and headed off track towards the cache, my iPhone’s GPS went a little nuts; 16 meters this way. No, 5 meters that way. Hang on, 11 meters in a difficult direction. There were plenty of spots to look, but I checked the hint and realised that I had to continue downwards. Cache was found, log signed and all returned as found.
Thanks for the cache, and for showing me another part of the Sunny Coast that I haven’t been to before.

SSS__Spinna76 I found your cache Ferny Glen on 6/2/2023, 12:49 pm. This is my find 4721 and find # 6 today. Found the fire trail and followed it down to where I needed to turn off. Looks like a bush bash down. Started my way down and my GPSR was laughing, go further down. Eventually arrived at GZ for a quick find. Looked back at the way I came and groaned. Eventually got out with a lot of huffing and puffing. Thanks for the cache, mate! TNSLLN
I was out grabbing some caches today. Dropped by to gran this one. There are some nasty stinging plants on the way to the cache.
Cache was found easily enough once at GZ.

Mrs Woodyrothwell and I were enjoying a day out caching after a couple of weekends locked away escaping the universe. We decided to leave the kids at home and get away for a night up the coast. We didn’t really have a caching plan. Our only plan was to find some caches off the beaten path that hadn’t been found in a while hoping they weren’t quick easy hunts.
One of the unwritten rules we share is if you fall over then you have to wait while the other captures a photo of you. We aren’t spring chickens any more so just unlocking the phone and finding the camera app takes an eternity. For those of us that fall over, you just have to wait in whatever dirt or mud you’ve found your arse in and smile. Once the evidence is photographed we can then check if you are still in one piece.
It was only 15 metres from the road when my wife took her first tumble. I felt a bit sorry for her (after capturing the moment) and decided I would trek down from the path by myself. I was shouting out to her that I was still OK when I heard this shouted from up the hill;
“If you fall on your arse then you better take a selfie”. tftc

Due to Covid-19 Lockdown I have disabled my Geocaches during the period of lockdown.
That was a bit treacherous in the wet but I got down and back up without slipping over. Thanks for the cache
Long have i seen this cache on my map.
Many a log read has up to this point kept me from coming here.. which is so wrong. This is an amazingly hidden little downhill firetrail i would never have known about without geocaching.
I paid too much heed to the posted parking coordinates that i have waited till a time came when i could tackle this cache from above. Today was that day, chugging my way up ballinger road on the tredley is always a good start to any days adventure, as is the dips and crests on mons road to arrive to where i need to park. Weeeee! Such fun!
What a nice street.
Some downhill fun on the tredley ensued before parking up and making the slow descent to gz. Picked it from a distance without gps and was lucky i was right, huzzah!
Then some mountain goat action before getting to keep the downhill momentum going. Ahah. So, this cache could be tackled from the south all along. Dagnavit.
Thanks spinna76 and the crew for showing me this cool hidden forest with a cheeky geocache. Have a fave point for the location!

We have been working long hours, one of us not for a grateful company, and so ran away for the weekend for some relaxation, sunshine, and a change of scenery.
Got the cache — the hint was used and I am not ashamed— considering where we were and the number of possibilities, we feel we did well to get our hands on this one. Our names were written in the logbook. Then,,, it was time to get back up to the car—- sheesh, you made us earn the terrain, for sure!
Thanks for the fun, spinna76

Due to the Covid-19 Virus and the instructions given by our Government to stop all non essential travel I have decided to disabled this Geocache. This decision was made after receiving a number of logs on caches I own or that I am a custodian of.
Anybody logging this cache while being disabled will have their log deleted from the cache page and removed from the physical log within the cache.
The cache will be reactivated after we are given clearance to freely travel.

Today was the day for this cache to be found. Down we went then off down again and there it was nicely hidden away. No ants today and all good with the cache. TFTC
While camping in Landsborough for a few days with my geodog Scruffy, we just had to get out and try finding a few caches ...
Wow this one sure took some getting to. Scruff had fun til the last bit then just sat there - suppose she thought "you might be that stupid, but I ain't" and so just sat and watched.
All Good, puff puff cough .. TFTC ..

Quick and easy find. It's not that hard. Just follow the trail which can be seen at the side of the road.
Not quite 'just off' the fire trail long way off. Steep terrain. Cache found and signed. Tftc
T-Tech had to visit Eumundi and Kunda Park for work today, and I got to tag along. As usual on his working days, I get to run off and play for a while [^] and I had a couple of hours to spare this afternoon, so took a circuit around Kunda Park and Mons.
I nearly didn't attempt this one as some logs make it look rather difficult, but geez, I can't leave a spinna76 cache unfound I made my way to the parking co-ords, found the path, headed down, soon enough went bush, and after sliding a little found myself at GZ! Easy as. Didn't raise much of a sweat coming back up either. TFTC, spinna76.

What great fun this was!! 4yr old managed it with few issues. Started the climb down with cosmo03 and geokids and little did I realise this part was the easy part! Scramble, scratch and hold on! Upon GZ we quickly located the prize! Signed and replaced we made the track back up....oh this is the hard part! TFTC everyone!!
Last one for this morning and couldn't find. Lots of places to put it but we looked in all of them. Hopefully come back with a charged phone and a mountain goat
Found at 1500.
This is one cache I had procrastinating about doing, after reading previous logs it seemed like a tough one to actually get to.
I was already in the area, so I drove towards GZ to get an idea of the terrain.
This doesn't look too hard...I mean that's a nice, wide fire trail I can follow.....?
Off I headed down the trail and soon realised I would have to leave the comfort zone.
A few minutes of bush bashing and sliding, I found the cache in a secure spot.
All good with this cache, contents are nice and dry.

Followed *SuzySquirrel* to make sure all was dry and no maintenance was needed. Conducted a log audit also.
#993 @ 12:48 pm. After visiting here with spinna76 while he scouted this location many, many, many, many moons ago, I finally decided today was the day I would finally make my way back. And I must say, after that initial visit where we had just returned from a painful climb up, over and back up Mt. Coolum caching, today by comparison was relatively painless. I did however have the benefit of returning with spinna76 today who was thinking a maintenance run was probably necessary after the recent rains. It was however still a slippery slope, spinna76 capturing those wonderful Kodak moments as I did the splits sliding down the hill. Take care of the ants too while you're down here. They can be nasty as can be attested by our hasty retreat back up the hill. Now stop complaining that I don't care about you!! TFTC spinna76 !
What better way to spend a Sunday arvo than sliding down a bank, GPS took me straight to the cache. All in good order. TFTC
Being so close by to this one I could not help but make the stop to come and take a look. I saw the fire trail and thought that does not look to bad.
But then as I got closer I realised it did get a little worse, a little difficult to stay up right but I did manage to make it to the cache without incident.
Retrieving the cache was interesting had to fight the ants for it, they seem to be running all over it and they were big ones so did not really want to cross paths with them to close. A couple of taps with a stick soon had it sorted. I had my name in the book quickly and returned the cache to the ants. Now just to figure out how to get back up.

Well I don't think that I have slid to a cache before ! but I did at this one .
I parked the geomobile at the bottom and made my way along the fire trail, the garmins arrow showed over there Oh perhaps if i walk a bit further along the slope will be better - nope ! So over the side I went slip sliding grabbing trees to stop the rapid descent and landing on my b--. I could see the most likely spot for a cache from one resting point so after further descent and the cache was in hand , Signed logbook 8:30 AM and replaced all as found. The trip back to the geomobile was a lot easier but still had a few slides on the dried leaves, very glad I hadn't visited here after rain..

Well, well, well... What have I found here. By the attention to detail in the cache labeling and the professional finish on the cache itself this to me would indicated that the CO's could be none the other then 'Stacevel', 'spinna76' and 'Lechbros'.
I have noticed this cache on my map for quite some time but have never really been in the area and to be able grab it. Well today that little green marker was turned into a .
It was late on Sunday afternoon and my partner said 'I'm going for a nap...' and before his head hit the pillow I had my caching bag in one hand, keys in the other and was practically in the car. I'll give you a guess where I was going...
This was one of the caches that I had the chance to grab today. And, to be honest I think it has been a little rude that it has taken me so long to get it. But hey, I'm sure they will get over it.
Thanks for the cache 'Stacevel', 'spinna76' and 'Lechbros'. The cache is in good order and out of respect I cleaned up the cache with a good wipe down and airing out.

The lucky last, woo hoo, happy dances, disco balls, we did it!! We started the challenge to find 25 caches all having different D/T ratings at 5am this morning. I slowly plodded through the first 13 on my own until 10 am when I came back to the campsite for a quick swim, food in my belly and 10 minutes sit down. At 1130 we took off to find the remaining twelve together. Numbers 14-20 came in pretty quick succession with only one slight falter when realising we didn't have the right tool. The major stumble came at 21 with everyone's patience wearing thin, however we decided to try and grab the remaining few as we were so close. 22, 23, 24 were also very good to us. However our planned number 25 was a no go and we decided to call it quits. We headed back to camp a little disappointed but we tried. After another swim and some more food the geokid was keen as mustard to find the last one....it was 545pm and the cache we needed was a 15-20 minute drive. It was getting dark and there was a little bush track we will need to walk, we will be right I thought.
Arriving at the parking spot we armed ourselves with torches and everything else we would need to make this find. Not dressed in night bush caching attire we started doing the mozzie dance and the legs were taking a good scratching. But we were determined. THUD!! I hit the ground and everything I was carrying was thrown. Now with torches we were searching for a pen when a piece of charcoal seemed like an easier option we decided to continue the search for the hide. We were almost at give up point when I said just three more and we all picked one. Scratch, scratch, scratch. BINGO!!! I had it, our name is signed in charcoal the pen never showed up. TFTC and being a apart of awesome, crazy caching day spinna76

Found at 0954. after a short sharp walk up hill then an even shorter and sharper scramble down hill for a bit it was a process of elimination before finding the beast. very hi tech label. TFTC.
Another beautiful sunny day, so decided to spent it caching in the hills.
Cache found after a short, but tough trek in the bush.
Many thanks for placing this cache, spinna76, for us and others to find.

The terrain rating on this one should have alerted us to how steep it was going to be. I found the fire trail to be steep enough for me, so left Marco to venture off the track to find the cache as that was even steeper. He was able to find the hiding spot before struggling and huffing and puffing back up to the track. TNLNSL TFTC
Finally I had a chance to stop in this area and I really enjoyed the drive in through this beautiful suburb. It is great to see this bushland growing back with a nice variety of understory plants.
Although there wasn't a definite geotrail, I passed the same dead wallaby. Looked like a swamp wallaby to me but couldn't be sure without a forensic investigation!
I managed to keep myself upright all the way to the cache and found a nice clean and dry box. Thanks spinna76 for a nice placement.

Found a gap of an hour or so in the afternoon, so headed out to this one close to home. We had gone past the location before but seeing the drop off, realised that we did not have appropriate footwear that day.
Now we're back all prepared! Actually it was not as hard as I thought it would be in the end, but definitely steep and slippery! Yes, I did slide down on my backside a little way accidentally. Lots of hollows to choose from but found the right one without much trouble and bravely reached in hoping not to withdraw my hand with something bitey attached.
Sorry to see a freshly deceased wallaby on the track - looked like a black-striped wallaby by its markings (I did need to confirm this with the field guide book at home...) - hopefully there's lots more in the bush somewhere.
#526 @ 1450h. Took marble, left polar bear.

Slip, sliding away..... Slip, sliding away..... Haha!!! I think I need better caching footwear. After managing to overshoot GZ somehow I had all sorts of issues slipping and sliding on the leaf litter. I did have a lot of fun though and found the cache without a hassle.

An interesting drive to near GZ then a descent into the hollows to find the cache. After retrieving and signing had quite a steep climb back out. Tftc
#158 @ 1.30pm (ish) SOOO even though my name is listed as a CO, I can still get a smilie on this. Since I only helped with making the cache and didn't technically place it, I thought it would be best to see where it was. spinna76 had described the location and the difficulty but I thought he was slightly exaggerating..... he wasn't.

Not the best time of day to find this one, and wearing pluggas as well, but. I had just found the other two that were published that day and thought I better make a clean sweep of them all.
After navigating the streets correctly, and incorrectly at times( those who come here will know what I mean), I soon arrived at the parking coords. Being dark time, and arriving at bushland, I did hesitate for a second, and think about coming back in daylight, but I was here now...it was only 85 metres.
So sliding down the fire trail in my pluggas, I was hoping it would be near the path, but it soon became apparent that I had to go 90 degrees to the path for 20 metres or so. I must of fell over a few times as I slid about in my thongs, but it was worth it. Once at GZ with torchlight, it took me a few minutes to check all the usual suspects. I even pondered giving up and coming back at a decent hour, but I used both navigational tools, and came across more suspects. Eventually I found it, and it became apparent it was very dark where I was. I took my thongs off to walk back up the hill and I was soon on the fire trail, and back at my vehicle.
Thanks for the hunt, and the cache spinna76, stacevel, and lechbros ( that's a mouthful). I envisage another couple in here?...but not from me.

We were getting ready to tackle the grocery shopping when we heard this notification come through.
We looked at where it was, and knowing the area quite well decided to head out before hitting the shops.
Pulling up, we both looked at each other with an amused look on our face, thinking this could be fun
Getting out the car, we decided a slow and steady approach was not the way to go
Wasn't long and we were 30m away and off the track we go.
Mr Parko led the way and the find was made quickly. We opened it up to see a nice blank log book and signed away before checking out the loot
We left Donkey Kong in there, so he could enjoy the bush a little longer
It's good to see a cache in such a nice area. Buderim is such a beautiful part of the world.
Thanks spinna76, Stacevel and Lechbros, great cache, great location

I saw this one come through and wondered if I should get up and go for a short stroll on a track that I knew well. I decided to finish what I was doing and a short time later saw the note from Parko's for the FTF - well done!
I loaded the details and after a very short drive stopped near the track and headed off. Nice to see they've put gates at both ends now as it used to be a great drive in the 4WD.
Nearing GZ I remembered the clue and had a bit of a chuckle, thanks. The cache was soon in hand and the log signed and all returned as found.
The down is always better than the up so I checked out the other end of the track for old time sake and then had a decent walk up on the way out.

Brought along some of my trackables for a visit to a cache bigger than a micro!

We pulled up at the entrance to the fire trail. Wow, we thought going down is going to be easy, coming back might be a different issue.
Miss Geo and I started our decent down towards GZ. I would hate to be trying to walk down here in the rain. We got to the point in the track when we had to change direction and head further down into the gully.
We made a "B" line for GZ, grabbing onto anything we could to stop us from slippy uncontrollably down the steep slope. [B)]
We arrived at GZ and Miss Geo was pretty quickly onto this little baby. She retrieved the cache from it's hide and removed the log book and planted our name right under Mr Konie's.
Congrats to Parko's for being FTF. Great location and I'm sure muggles won't be an issue.
