The miner statue has been removed, and now a safety fence has been erected at the site before the building is demolished to make way for a new supermarket.
Quickly found but quite a fluke. Hint helped a fair bit. Log needs immediate replacing as all spots are full and has been like that for quite a while judging by all the distorted logs all over the place. A really cool find and hide. Been past it so many times without realising. TFTC crig
Its anniversary time and this year its GMelbs turn to choose the secret destination which is Port Albert (in the hope there may be an Aurora) Time to head home today and the weather is crying too! The weather has been crazy so far this morning, rain, sun, rain, sun, rain annnnnnddddd . in Leongatha we even had hail!!!! It hailed so much and such tiny hailstones that they got caught inside geopuppyVs fur!! It was bizarre how it gripped and was hard to get out lol JMelb took geopuppyV for a walk to get photos of the murals whilst GMelb hunted for this cache. Logging done, we are now setting off to ms_enchantresss place -Yey!! TFTC Craig - GJMMelb
Found while killing time waiting for friends to arrive for lunch. Quickly spotted the cache but in trying to retrieve it I ended up pushing it in, it went all the way through and out the other side so I had to move the bush away and feel around to find it. Opened up and found the log is full so squeezed my name in along one side as best I could. TFTC
The day was forecast to be one of those rare pleasant days in winter... so I took the opportunity to drive down to South Gippsland Shire and Baw Baw Shire to hunt out a few caches... the things you do when you take on *LGA Challenges*...
With the morning behind me, I was now in Korumburra for lunch... and more caches... starting with this one. Found it eventually... and then had to find somewhere to write my name as the log sheet is full.
Thanks **crig** for this cache at an interesting location.

Found with LittleBoss2 on a short trip to Dumbalk to help a friend move. Well placed and cammo'd. Thanks for placing crig.
Just a note that log is full, also was found on the ground, so we re placed in thy hole

Found it although I don’t think it’s meant to be out in the open, although if your not specifically looking for it, it looks like a lot of the other random things back there at the moment. also can’t put my name on the log as it is completely full
Last stop in Korumburra before continuing on through to Waratah Bay.
Oh boy this one was tough, mostly because it had fallen out of its hiding spot. I would not have found it if not for my phone camera. I managed to squeeze my name and date in right at the bottom of the log and I’ve popped it back in it’s intended spot.
Happy to report that the cache is in good condition and the log nice and dry, however it desperately needs replacing as it is completely full.

On my way to the prom for a base camp we pulled over for petrol. Did the short walk as ns made the easy find. Nice here. Need's new log book. Thanks for the cache
It took a lot of searching before the cache was finally discovered.
After a month long hiatus we were back in the game today! We met up with our good friend Rebel Acts once again after spending some 5 months north in NSW and Queensland. Catching up on things round home and grandchildren had kept us grounded for some time since arriving home.
It was great to be out and about again and the banter and laughs are always a bonus.
There were a few great hides and caches were in surprisingly good condition despite the recent weather. Well done to the COs'
We ran into kbucky and Tiz13 while having lunch in a cafe in Leongatha which was an added bonus on a great day.
Thank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache crig.

Found out in the open. Not 100% sure where this was meant to be. Will message cache owner.
Mustn’t have been obvious enough for me, was it navel to find this one unfortunately.
While waiting for a cheeseburger at a local cafe I thought I’d pop down and find this. My phone camera came in handy - I don’t think I could have spotted it otherwise. We’re off to coal creek park after lunch.
We tried to look for this one earlier in the day but unfortunately there were gardeners working right at GZ so we decided to go and have some lunch and when we came back the coast was clear. It soon became clear where the cache was and with the help of my trusty garden gloves we were able to retrieve and put back the cache easily! TFTC!!
We came before lunch to get the cache but there was too many muggles.
With our bellies now full we returned and retrieved the cache.
Thanks

Well prickles all through my hands getting this one, but it’s been grabbed.
The log is full. Chockablock….!
The cache and container are in excellent condition but needs a new log.
I visited 5 TB.

Our final day among the iconic rolling hills of South Gippsland. Having spent the first part of the day in the terrific company of the Suscoe team, now we headed off for a few caches that we wanted to find. Green & lush at the moment, fantastic for the Angus, Guernseys, Holsteins, Illawarras & Ayshires who claim the hills as home.
With a dismal failure on this one a few years back, it was a relief to make a quick find today.
Thanks crig for placing caches for everyone's enjoyment.

Moved to the area a week ago so thought I better start getting the local caches. New logbook needed
This took a bit of time for us to locate! Very happy to find it. Thank you!
This was my first weekend in Melbourne for months, owing to some birthday and other engagements. Saturday was free however so I teamed up with OzHockeyChick to go exploring for the day.
A quick find at GZ. In the right location per a previous finder. No surprises here the log is still full - but managed to squeeze a name in there sideways.
Thanks crig for the cache.

Quick little find on our way home from a weekend away. Unfortunately we couldn’t sign the log, one was full and the other could have been full but unit has started to fall apart. The cache had been muggled and was laying on the ground, we hope we have put it back in its rightful position.

Needs maintenance- log book full and as per our log, it may not be in the right spot.
A trip down to Fish Creek for a few days.
I was a bit early, so stopped for a few on the way after I was out of the Big Smoke.
I thought that will all the services this building offers that it would be a bad muggle area. But this proved not to be the case.
An interesting sculpture, and information about the mining around the area.
The GPSr didn't want to play nice close to the building, but the cache was soon found.
Thanks, Robmc.

Fortunately it didn't take too long to find this cache as the rain was well and truly settling in for the day. Got the cache returned just as more muggles parked in the street out front. The logbook, although dry, is in need of replacing as it is full. Thx crig for a great hide, shame it was too wet to have a good look at the Miner though! Cheers

After Grub62 reading the hint I returned to the car for an extraction tool. But when I found the cache it was on the ground and no extraction tool was required. After signing the logbook I returned the cache to where I thought it should be. TFTC.
Find 3 for Bunadoorian and myself for today. Bunadoorian was searching with the extraction tool when he found the cache on the ground. Log book signed and cache replaced. TFTC and for bringing us to this area of Korumburra - crig
The weather was looking good and I needed to get out of the house, with restrictions lifted in regional Vic I headed out to explore Kurumburra and Leongatha armed with My mask and Sanitizer, I had a great day exploring the region, this is one of the caches I found today. This took way longer than in should as I was looking in the wrong part of the wall, once at the correct spot the cache was soon in hand.
Thanks crig for the cache.

Gave it a good crack but could not for the life of my find it... the place I thought it was was very prickly and with bare arms I wasn’t game to try

NY day and no muggles in sight. A great place to observe one of the many murals around town. Coords took us to a spot and it only took a minute and we had the well hidden cache. Managed to get a sign on the log sheet, but it is now full.
Thanks

Cache found after abit of searching around. But once found the log was chockers and needs a replacement. Thanks for the cache!
That took us longer than it should have, but persistence paid off and we finally retrieved it with the aid of hubby’s glasses arm. Thanks for this clever little hide, a favourite point from us
The last time I stopped here it was muggle central. Much different today though as i had the whole area to myself. Once the cache was discovered, an extraction tool was definitely needed. Log was damp but writable so I signed it and returned it to this very clever hide. TNLNSL. TFTC. KKAms
I’ve been home injured for a week and a half, I’m so bored! The weather has been horrid but today a little sunshine. Geo son home from school as he is really snotty. We SHOULD be at home resting but I seriously feel it’s going to benefit us both is we get outdoors and do a few drive by caches.
Thank you for placing and mai tong this cache which has kept us entertained today.

TFTC! Enjoyed the mural on the wall while we searched for the cache. Mrx2 was able to find it quickly but we had to act in stealth as there were many muggles around!
Today we had to drive to Melbourne. On our way we collected a couple of caches.
It wasn‘t that difficult to retrieve the cache.
Thanks to crig for placing and maintaining the cache.

Today we had to say goodbye to the Prom. Our trip led us back to Melbourne and along the way we found a few boxes that were easy to access. Found and logged together with Swerik, Mikaching and GPS-Wickie.
While staying at the Showgrounds for a few days I stopped her to add a smiley. A very tricky little hide and a favourite point for it TFTC crig
Found on a weekend with family. This cache was a great hide and started our afternoon off brilliantly. Thanks for bringing us here this afternoon

Since I did the Oxfam Trailwalker event (and numerous training walks prior) with Lost_and_Found_79 we have threatened to arrange a caching day out together. We finally agreed on the Grand Final public holiday and we headed south east to an area where neither of us had found many caches previously. After a DNF nearby we headed in to Korumburra and waited out a rain storm near to this cache. We then headed in once the rain eased and started to search for this eon. I must admit I passed it over at first and it was L&F79 who tracked back and spotted this tricky hide here. Our tenth find in a busy day of 35 total finds and a couple of DNFs. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log and visited some trackables. Thanks for the cache crig.

Annoying Tarbit and I decided to head to this area today for some caching. It ended up being quite eventful, with a rather diverse range of caches attempted (and mostly found!).
Having stopped near to GZ, the rain started to fall in earnest and we decided to wait it out (or at least try to anyway). After about 15 minutes, the rain somewhat eased and we headed towards the miner. I have driven through the area on multiple occasions, yet had never even realised that this statue was here. After a closer look and a brief search, something caught my eye. A nicely hidden cache. TFTC

We were heading down the South Gippsland Highway this morning and stopped at Korumburra for lunch and to look for this cache. Accurate coordinates and an obvious hiding place led to a quick find. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks crig for the cache.
Great little hiding spot. Just the right amount of frustration for us. Got there in the end.
Working in the area. A few caches and back to it. Almost missed it, but cache in hand. TFTC

Headed out this morning with sedgwickDave with the aim of attending the annual Wonthaggi events, plus finding 3 puzzles we managed to solve during the last few days. There were also a number of others on our "Hit List"
This was the first find for the day, we did have to wait out 3 muggles that decided GZ was a great spot to stop and chat. Patience paid off and we soon had the well hidden cache in hand.
Many thanks to crig for the cache. TNLN.

Found by Mary & David at 1508. Heading to the annual Wonthaggi Events tomorrow. Have to stay in town here, though, as we left our booking a bit late. Lovely roses everywhere. Hadn't noticed this statue or mural before. Found the cache on the ground, but returned it to the nearest suitable hiding spot consistent with the hint. Our thanks to crig.
