Hi petal888,

The cache appears to be in need of owner intervention. I'm temporarily disabling it, to give the owner an opportunity to check on the cache, and take whatever action is necessary. Please respond to this situation in a timely manner (i.e., within 28 days) to prevent the cache from being archived for non-responsiveness.

If you require more time please be sure to **post a note** (not an email) explaining the situation and how much more time you require. For ongoing issues please ensure you visit the listing and post a new note every 28 days to keep everyone up to date, if you do not then you cache may be archived without further note from a reviewer. Caches archived due to lack of maintenance are no longer unarchived and you will need to submit a replacement as a new cache.

No luck finding this one today, had hoped to snag it before it got archived but no luck.

Found the decoy however which was pretty cool. If that was the decoy I’d love to know what the cache was!

18-Nov-22
It looks like the CO is no longer active and cache is completely destroyed with the camo coming off and the nano lying in plain sight.

18-Nov-22
This geocacher reported that this geocache should be archived. A community volunteer reviewer has been notified.

07-Nov-22
Found cache but it is completely broken. The camo was gone as it came off and the containers log cannot be retrieved.

01-May-22
Took us a while to spot this one. We checked all the nuts and bolts and holes and moles, but came up dry. Then something caught an eye. Nice hide! Would have been even nicer in its original glory, so we did a bit of cache maintenance on it and were able to somewhat restore it. Thanks for the cache!!! Next finders may need to take care when returning it to it's home.

15-Apr-22
Found with grub Fred and Shano on 10/3.
Awesome cache - had a lot of fun trying to find

10-Apr-22
After two misses, I spoke to a recent finder, and armed with a hint, decided to give this one a final try.

Found without problems!!!!

The hide is not in good condition. I replaced everything as best I could, but am very unsure how long it will hold.

The CO doesn't seem to have been around since 2016, so probably won't see these last logs recommending cache maintenance.

Anyway, thank you petal888 for a challenging geocache.

09-Apr-22
Found with Its_Dozzie in the pouring rain. It took a PAF to uncover the hide. The outer camo is a little worse for wear, but we managed to wedge it in place. So hopefully it will remain in sitsu. A rare D/T combo, but with so many options at GZ I can see why. Nice area to visit. TFTC

Pouring rain does not stop a real geocacher. Together with Brewmaker I inspected every inch and hole of Joel's boatshed. Without result.
After Brewmaker phoned a friendly cacher, the well hidden cache was spotted. After logging we tried to replace the cache and its camo as best as we could. With help of some natural material we managed to wedge it in its place.
Great hide and worth a favo!
TFTC.

Find No: 8364. Visiting from Newcastle with shaneo58 & geomoz, finally spotted the beast, had an awful time retrieving it but eventually got to sign the log, gets a favorite for the innovation, thanks for the cache petal888!!

Container damaged

10-Mar-22
Found it with Grub Fred & Geomoz.Had trouble extracting it from its hideyhole but log signed. A fav for me as it fills a hole in my D/T grid. TFTC Petal888

Kids and I were beaten up day unfortunately: gave it a good 5-10 minutes, don’t know what we could have missed!

29-Dec-21
Turned up and it was raining so out with the umbrellas and off GeoIan and went to look. Took about 20 mintues until I thought something looked odd. Showed GeoIan and yes, what a tricky hide. With cache extracted and cache logged. Replaced as found. Enjoyed the challenge of this one. TFTC

We ventured down here to grab some D/T's we had not gotten before. Was a lateish start, and this being our second for the day. It was a miserable day, another reason to be doing these sorts of Urban caches. Grabbed the brollies, knowing that we had to search the structure. I started at one corner, and madrabbitoh at the opposite. Slowly made my way around the whole thing, and started thinking about what else was close. Mad was constantly yapping about this wont move, will this move, is this really needed blah blah. Then i hear, "hubby, come have a go at this" Yep, she found it. I had overlooked it, and now i need to do the extraction. Very nice hide, though its one of those, after you find, it can be really obvious. Took us bout 20 minutes, and had not started reading the logs yet. Smile TFTC. Our first 4.0/1/0.

02-Oct-21
Found on second attempt, seal is broken as a lot must have been wet so can't get out to sign.

02-Oct-21
Wow what a brilliant cache. So impressed with the person that made this. Took the six off us about 20 minutes to find. The decoy was impressive as well.

27-Sep-21
Found within 1 minute on second attempt!! We must have looked straight at it and touched 100 times on the first attempt. When we found the cache we could see it but could not dislodge it from its clever camo, so log book not signed. But we love the location and the effort that has gone into this one.

04-Sep-21
Found the decoy but alas no luck with the actual cache.

16-Aug-21
We looked everywhere, can we have a clue? Like is it stolen? It’s not here! We found the fake one but not the real one!!!!!

16-Aug-21
Is the wooden block in the pole the geocache or is that a fake? We are really confused and have looked everywhere. Can you help us?

25-Jul-21
Very clever! But unable to open for log.

14-May-21
Too good for me today with the time I had available. Wasn't even able to locate the fabled decoy

Found it on a quick geo evening. Fun one! Good hide! Went down and looked at the boats. TFTC

My second visit. So excited when I spotted something, and... it’s not the cache. How is that not the cache. But something else I had spotted earlier and discounted warranted further investigation, and... yes! What a great hide. SL. TFTC Favourite point

Find #: 2,329
Companions: None
Muggles: A few
Weather: Overcast summer morning
Cache condition: Good

My daughter had a party nearby so I decided to have a second go at this cache (I had an unsuccessful search a few months ago). A fire engine pulled up just after I arrived and parked at the end of the road, but the occupants didn't appear to notice me, although I was a bit uncomfortable with their presence and tried to search out of their sight. After they left I was a bit more relaxed and a revised approach allowed me to make the find - so sneaky! TNLNSL, thanks for the cache.

03-Jan-20
A walk in Kosciusko National Park was planned many months ago for the first week of January, before the now infamous fires were but a spark. As Christmas came and went, and the fires grew worse, I was not aware that fires were also starting in Kosi National Park. A day before we were to fly out the park was closed for a few days due to nearby fires, so with the chance of still going, we headed to Sydney. We waited and waited for the warnings to clear, but sadly this was not to be, and in fact, it has gotten much worse and the closures continued. We were not going to Kosi . While this was an inconvenience for us, our thoughts are with those who have suffered so much worse than us in this devastating event.

We decided to stay around Sydney and Newcastle for the week, and salvage as much as we could of our holiday. We had some great walks, cliff faces, beaches, swims and rocky crags. It was a fantastic time all around. Thanks to all the CO’s for the work they have put into these caches.

Over the the past few years, the Bromance (comprising CrookedPete, Seffnjarah, SwellerFungus and most recently JezNDez) has enjoyed road trips, bushwalking, overnight hikes, mountain climbing, kayaking and other adventures in search of some elusive caches. The first planned adventure for the brand new decade is a multi day hike in Kosciusko National Park bagging Australia's highest dozen peaks and all nearby caches.

Enroute to our adventure, the bush fire crisis unfolded, and with the region on fire and closed, our plans gradually morphed to a caching road trip back to Queensland, collecting unusual and rarer caches along the way.

This looked like a challenging cache and indeed, in the stinking heat today, our patience was tested searching for this one. Seffnjarah eventually made the sneaky well concealed find.

Some logs were signed with individual names or initials if log space was an issue, others with "Bromance". Our groups brand new "Bromance" stamp also got it's first use on some cache logs.

Thanks petal888. Well played. I do enjoy challenging caches with some history thrown in, so have a crooked favourite point.

My family and I travelled down from Brisbane to Vincentia and Canberra to spend the Christmas/New Year period with relatives. Today my fellow geocaching team members from The Bromance (Swellerfungus, Crookedpete and JezNDez) arrived in Sydney to join me for a planned hike in Kosciusko National Park (ultimately cancelled due to closures by bush fires). The plan was to head to Canberra after collecting them from the airport but the smoke was so bad in Canberra that we decided to spend a few days caching in Sydney to see if conditions improved.

Because of the late change of plans we did not have an organised list of caches to find, instead we identified caches to target on the fly. This was one of the caches we managed to visit.

It was a stinking hot day today, and this well camouflaged cache was testing our patience as we undertook a lengthy search in the blazing sun. Finally I managed to spot the tiniest of details which attracted my attention and a closer inspection revealed the brilliantly disguised cache. Definite favourite point here. We used our shiny new "The Bromance" team stamp to sign the logbook to save space. TFTC

An unusually quick find, compared to my usual performances. I guessed there was no point in looking for anything common and went straight to the uncommon. Great work. Thanks petal888.

Just logged a DNF and was about to walk away, when I noticed something odd. It was nowhere near to where I spent the majority of my time.
Frustrated and sent a few messages to previous finders without a return.
Such a pleasure to find a hide like this, hats off to the CO, FP thanks petal888

Located at 8:50pm. Wow! Very nice indeed! I have had this cache on my radar for a while now and this is a very well-earned grid filler. Just earlier I had logged a grid filling D1/T3 and now I am logging a D4/T1, awesome! This cache came highly recommended and did not disappoint. Very nicely camouflaged. Спасибо! תודה! L’chaim! Found the decoy immediately then continued our search. Sore backs and knees from playing in the woodchip we took a break and noticed something. OMG really it was kinda what we were looking for but at the same time not. Very obvious when you know right? We were just about to give in and PAF. Glad to say we managed to conquer this one on our own. Defs a fave point from me. Tftc very very clever and sneaky!!!

11-Mar-18
Found devoy straight away, no issues at all. Now finding the actual cache was certainly difficult.. sat in some shade for a bit with our eyes still wandering around. Mmmmmm that looks interesting. Oh wow yep thats it. Awesome camo. Definatley worth a fav

Found it!!!!! We are extremely happy! This was our second time here, worth coming back! This second time we did a very methodical search, each team member starting from a different corner and after 5 minutes P had CIH! TFTC

03-Mar-18
After a 2 minute search, we found the decoy - drat!! Another 20 minutes in, what to us Canadians, a very hot day to discover cache. Ingenious.

20-Feb-18
Holy hell this is genius

17-Jan-18
Ahhh, Joel. What can I add that has not already been said about this cache? Brilliant.
It is similar to one I found a year or so back next to a beach.
On arrival here, I did the normal scrutiny and quickly found the decoy. Then a more thorough look and found nothing more.
Then I sat down, read previous logs and looked for something "out of place". I quickly spotted "something out of place" and there it was. A real favourite.

11-Jan-18
Simply brilliant. I spent close to an hour searching here and in this time found the decoy which is also extremely clever. I had to resort to PAF for help to nab the cache. OMG it is so obvious when you know. One of the best camos I've seen in my short caching time and certainly worthy of a fav point. TFTC.

20-Dec-17
Tftc, caching buddy Azzepious found this one recently and told me how good it was. Visiting family in the area I had to stop and get it. 40deg outside! Found the decoy. Checked a few things. PAF who told me something I had checked was the cache it was just stuck. Great construction! Fp for sure.

15-Dec-17
Wow!
Simultaneously massively out of place, whilst blending in perfectly.

It took me well over half an hour of searching, pondering and reading logs, but eventually it clicked and the hiding place became obvious.

Favourite point for such a great hide.

Tftc.

10-Dec-17
Had quite a thorough search but wasn't able to uncover the actual hide (although I did find the decoy!). Will come back another day (perhaps after consulting previous finders ;p)

OCW Rodney1210. Rodney loves this cache and since we were in the area he told me it was my turn. He sat in the cool(ish) of the shade while I started my search under the blazing sun. The heat was getting to me so I ask him for a hint. I got so excited but realised I was fooled and my search continued. Another small nudge and I finally had the CIH! Oh wow!! A favourite point for sure for the effort and length you have gone to! Top cache that would send most cachers to the brink of insanity and back I’m sure. TFTC!

06-Oct-17
Needed to claim this find and one other to qualify for a 5/5 challenge which I have the opportunity to go for next w/e so decided to bring the team out here to get the best shot possible. The clever hide was soon spotted thanks to a fair bit of homework the night before and a penchant for these kinds of hides. This find marks our 300th trad. We decided to see if we could locate one or more of the rumored decoys also, which we did find one. This is a very unique monument with some interesting history. Thanks for bringing us here, petal888, and TFTC!

Sometimes I sit and look, sometimes I sit and think and sometimes I just sit . . . . just as well it was a lovely afternoon for my second visit to this devilish hide !
OMG - why is the obvious only obvious when you see it ?!
TFTC - very clever build and had me scratching my head and my splinters.

It was over three years ago when I dnfed this one, today with a paf it was an 'easy' find, even with a gaggle of young teenage girls nearby.

Previously logged under team account BoogieRogue. Re-logging with my individual account. After 2 DNF-s we came back tonight to have another look. After resorting to PAF and getting additional help Mrs Rogue spotted the cache in 5 minutes. How could we miss it twice already... After the signing duties were done, we spotted the decoy as well.

In Sydney today to try to grab a few of the more rare D:T combos. A few of us in the Hunter are for some reason challenging ourselves to loop the D:T grid at least 5 times. Madness!

Anyway, this is one less that I need - it's an exceedingly rare combo and to be honest I'm glad. This was diabolical.

Even though I guessed the nature of the hide, and even stumbled across the decoy after only a couple of minutes, I focussed on the wrong things and lost a lot of time. A sent a PAF request to a former finder and he confirmed I was right in my thinking and very close to the find, so with renewed confidence I retested a few things and sure enough I'd touched it before. So clever!

Thanks for the splinters. I think I'm taking half the structure home with me.

Definite FP. TNLN TFTC

Found with BillHill531 on a day trip to north Sydney to find a bunch of high and rare D/T combinations. We had a great day helping to fill in our grids for our first, second and beyond loops. Finding all that we attempted and making good time.
When we arrived we did not know what to expect. The cache could be seemingly nowhere and everywhere . We set to work not bothering with going down the hill to the co-ordinates. Being systematic and thorough. I checked one spot after BillHill and could not find the cache, then he checked again and found it. Phew!
Thanks for the super tricky cache!

Found with TOMBI!, working on some interesting D/T combinations, needed to fill some of the empty squares . Finding all attemped caches today, this was the 3rd one today, I started looking at GZ in the greenery, after a while I found the odd thing out, to make a find. TFTC petal888

I have to say that I really enjoyed this one. When I arrived there was a bunch of drunken youths by the side of the road near GZ, surrounded by a wall of empty beers cans, who were desperately seeking someone to drive them into the city. It took a while to convince them that I did not have a car and them I bored them so hard with my stories of the day's adventures that they called an Uber and evacuated. Very interesting relic at GZ, I did find the decoy before exploring some of the features a little more closely before discovering this devilish hide. Well played indeed. Fav point awarded TFTC

Decided to head towards Cremorne on today's cache run. This was the fifth stop and main target due to it's D/T combo that I was missing.

I had an idea of what I would be looking for and spotted it very quickly. Unfortunately, this turned out to be the clever decoy. Then I focused on one word that I'd spotted in a few of the previous logs and was happy to find something that matched. I really like hides like this that blend in so well with their surroundings - made me think of the Minecraft series at Narrabeen.

This is an awesome cache!!! Amazing camouflage! Took us about 15 to find and reading past comments helped Smile so great thank you!!

We gave this a pretty good effort with four sets of eyes, to no avail. We're staying nearby (visiting from the US)...we hope to give it another go before we leave on Wednesday. Good search...we'll be back!

27-Sep-16
Very well done! Took a while to find it. Reading past logs was helpful!

11-Sep-16
Being one of the closest un-found caches to home, this was the pick of choice for being the cache of the day. Had tried it two times before, with no success, but this time we had read through all old logs and had a bit of idea about what we were looking for. Still it took some 10-15 minutes before we could hone in on something looking promising.
We agree with some previous comments about wheel chair access, uselessness and possible interference with the structure, but that being said, we really liked the cache and will gladly give away a favourite point.

18-Jul-16
Wow. How cool is that! Most rewarding find in my short cache career. Took a little thinking and processing. TFTC!

15-Jul-16
Cheeky boy or girl. After 40 minutes including 20 minutes with 2 work colleagues I reevaluated and the terrain rating says wheel chair accessible. While I disagree it gave me some information that was useful and the find was made soon after. Giving it a favourite even though I don't enjoy lack of hint caches when there bloody difficult. Tftc tnln

Headed down there very early (pre- ) and spent about an hour looking for this bloody thing. I started using torch-light and by the time I was done the sun was up, my phone was nearly flat and I was late for work.
I thought I had it after about 45min of twisting and prodding and pulling on hands and knees but there was 'no cigar' to be had.
I don,t know how it happened but I went back over my initial tracks and one previous comment by the CO helped me into a different line of thinking.
I am only going to say it was dumb luck in the end but never the less I found the cache, signed the log and headed out before any locals had me arrested for loitering. This is the only Fav I have given so well done and Tftc.
P.S. I was late to work in the end and couldn't even tell my boss why ("car trouble" ).
