#7585Very cool! The NOIFYTDT series was slated for today's adventures with GHHH. Despite rain this morning wetting the brush and rocks, it was a welcome change to scratching about in T1 territory shopping centre carparks! Although my feet and thighs do feel it now. Despite some worrying moments, we scored 4/4 for this section, and had a ball.A trad in the series - should be easier, and it was. We parked in Sunnyside Rd (looks like a public road to me?) and trekked straight to GZ - a very impressive one too, one of the best around. I crawled past the cache, Samuel spotted it, because he had nicked my headlight.... On to #3- then the 'fun' started!TFTC!
#7585Found with GHHH on todays assault in Gosford hitting some high DTs.One of the easier of the series, makes up for the underrating on the one next We spotted the neat cave from far away, then GHHH and I opted for a hard route up, slipping around but reaching the top easily enough.Pointed out an easier way for the Dads to get up from the other side, its like a tunnel! After a while of searching I spotted the cache, just Couldve easily missed it, glad we didnt though, nice to nab a 3.5/4 TNLN SLThanks for placing and maintaining this cache Wests Tigers Fan
Really awesome cave here! We took the hard immediate way in and the easy way out. Very sneaky hide but luckily eagle eyed Samuel spotted it. TFTC
Finally, 4th time lucky, I know I missed logging my first visit too, shameful of me.This time, I reached out to receive a helping hand. Sadly, I couldnt match the photo at all inside the cave. I actually spent too much time searching in all the wrong places, obviously.90mins spent here today, hang on, wait, what? Received a pic from a PAF and still that long! The PAF maybe cropped the photo. Well, the pic, wasnt helpful at all to me. as it had me in the wrong spot anyway. Brought the 2.1m ladder and leant it on the roof to search away without any luck.I believe Ive spent 4hrs in total in this cave, not to mention driving time.I can honestly say, no ladder is required, although a good torch comes handy.Performed a bit of CITO with a cot railing and vacuum cleaner on my way out.FP, thanks West Tigers Fan
After seeing the recent DNFs, I thought I should perhaps pay another visit to this cache. I came equipped with a torch and a gooseneck camera, in case it had moved too far into its hiding place again, but no, it was sitting right there in plain sight just where it was meant to be. Everything is in good order with the log nice and dry, not surprising as it's living in the roof of a cave.I have photos that pretty much give away its hiding place so if anyone is stuck please don't hesitate to contact me via Message Centre. I'd rather do that than see this cache archived, as there are too few like it around here to lose any more unnecessarily.By the way, the cache is accessible from Sunnyside Avenue without passing through private property, in spite of what it says in the description. On the western side of the road, just before the driveway into no. 32 starts (S 33 26.375 E 151 19.020) , there's a well-defined bush track that will take you in the right direction.
Found my cache for the day, so spent an hour micro combing a certain spot, de sanding etc. Then spent time on the hill to ensure it didnt fall out and roll down there. NEEDS A CHECK
Thank bearfoot jeff for letting us know this was was still here. Came out today to turn a DNF INTO A SMILEY.
Yes we found him.

Very grateful to barefootjeff for confirming the container was still in place and for making it easier to spot. I approached from a different direction today but still found these caves to be most impressive and fun to climb around in. Can't help but to give a FP and great to avenge my DNF from 17 months ago. Great memories. Also nice to pick up quite a bit of unloved. This series definitely deserves more visits!

As a previous finder, I knew this could become very difficult if the cache was pushed too far into its hiding place, so in light of the recent DNFs and note, I took advantage of the nice afternoon to go for a bushwalk. It turned out I was right, I was able to just spot the edge of the cache with my torch and, with the aid of a stick, was able to work it back to where I could reach it. It's all in good nick and I returned it to where it should be more easily reached. Take a stick though, just in case.
If you line up the two photos exactly, using any foreground/background detail you can, you should be sitting where the cache can be easily reached.

Searched for ages. Looked at all the clues pics and I am 100% sure I was I the right place. Used touches. Tooth photos of hidey spots could not find
Thought we would try this unloved after no. 4. But sadly there was nothing. Can CO please check or remove.
I've had my eye on the 4 caches in this series around Point Clare for quite some time and have just been waiting for a cooler day. Today was that day and I was soon making my way along the track and behind the houses.
Still beaming with success at #1, 2 and 3, I made a quick detour to the scenic view waypoint before making my way to this one. As I approached GZ, there were numerous awesome caves and rock formations and as I got closer, there was no doubt where I needed to go. One of the best caves I've been in and just itching to give out another FP.
Unfortunately after searching for nearly an hour, reading through logs and 2 PAFs, I still went empty handed. So disappointed! I'll keep an eye on it to see how the next cacher fares.
Still, its been an absolutely awesome adventure and only took around 40 minutes to get back to the car in Nari Ave which was a lot better than I was expecting.

So with 3 down it was time to claim the 4th Given it was only a couple of hundred meters away the high route was taken and soon arrived in a great area of multiple caves. The GPSr got me to the right cave as the spoiler images are not longer available which later proved very problematic in finding the right hiddy hole as it was a long process of working over every spot including the camera and the torch as there were so many spots and also getting into some spider man type locations. In the end we just felt the hide and could only just get our hand into the depths of the hide for another well camoed container. Relief. Signing done and the low road back to the car. TFTC
I started this WTF series back in February with #6. A tough hide that one indeed! The rest of the series had been on hold just until I'd got thru my P81 but Lance91 has been keen to get out here for ages and it was deffo his turn to choose a cache day as he (and barefootjeff) have been obliging with my cache day suggestions lately ..so a WTF day it is ..and on EOFY at that!
We began at #1 and worked our way right round to #4. Love these perfect sunny winter days for caching!
(end of cut-and-paste section)
From #3 we climbed up to its lookout WP and enjoyed the view before making a fairly straight forward approach to #4 (compared with the previous approach anyway lol). It got thick in spots and then suddenly we stumbled across the faint hintings of a fire trail and then we stumbled across.. a boat lol. Anyway down to GZ and we found the cave which has to be one of the most interesting that we C4 cachers have found to date! So many places to hide a cache in here and after performing a fair scan of the area and coming up 0 we resorted to checking the hint and even after aligning ourselves to exactly the position of the supplied images it still took us about 15 mins to make the find ..in a spot I'd already checked too. Terrific containers! Far out deffo muggle factor: ZERO.
We really enjoyed our day today which from setting out and then back to the Green Lantern was pretty much a 4-hour round trip. Amazing looking back up on our walk back to the car along Priestly Parade to think we'd just trekked from one end of that ridge to the other! Highly recommend this series and I look forward to getting the last two soon enough! Thanks Wests Tigers Fan for the caches and thanks to caching buddy Lance91 for a good suggestion today and good company.

After #3 we headed over to #4. Followed the ridge along and took in the views till we found the power lines and a broken down boat. Found getting to the cave easy enough, but moving around in it was a struggle as it has limited footholds and the sand doesn't help. Had a look around the right spots but there was one spot i missed, and Novo made the find
Pretty sure Novo was 4 for 4 today, my cache finding senses were out the window today haha. Had a great time, enjoyed all the caves and thank you for making this series WTF it was a blast!

After finding No #3 we continued heading towards this cache, Wow I really enjoyed the cave and the climb up to it, Once inside there were so many places a cache could be . After searching for a while we looked at the photos and figured the area it had to be, Marcus Vitruvius finally found it in a spot I swear I had put my hand several times but obviously being the chicken I am didn't reach in far enough. Thanks for the cache and the adventure Wests Tigers fan another fav point to you . We then walked back out to the road and up the hill to our cars. have I mentioned I hate hills.
A late evening chat with a few caching buddies evolved into a 4am start and a 5am drive with Marcus Vitruvius from Newcastle to Gosford to ensure we had a full day of caching to attack a range of high D:T combos. A great day ensued (including 4 x D5 caches for me) but glad the mighty Swans and some cold wine are soothing some blistered feet tonight!
We met up with Mighty Minions at Point Clare and climbed the Penang St stairs and pulled a lap of the entire ridge line here. Bush bashed like Bear Grylls to this cache from the top of the ridge, via #3, and then walked back around the road in a loop to grab the letterbox too. What a great start to the day and a great day for a walk. Hooray for spring!
We entered the cave from the north and once all 3 of us had stopped to enjoy the view and take some photos we started looking in earnest. We all pretended to be WW11 tank gunners and stood in the centre hole. Mad formation!
Sooooo many places this could be and we took forever to spot this. Even after careful analysis of photos and working the exact spot they were taken from we still took a while! A very clever and tricky hide. Future muggle finding factor - 0!
With log signing duties done, we moved on, but only after taking some time to truly enjoy this truly phenomenal spot. FP awarded. You definitely provide what I look for in a cache! TNLN TFTC

Reperio at 0825.
I got up nice and early to meet up with The Garbageman and Mighty Minions for a day of caching on the Central Coast, and we decided to tackle a few of the higher rated D/T caches and puzzles we had worked on during the week. After working our way down to #3, we made a bee line for this one. Along the way we managed to find some wonderful rock formations, and a great lookout spot from a massive slab of rock. Once at GZ, we approached from below and so could see where the cache was going to be (at least we hoped it was), and before long the three of us were arm and head deep in checking every cavity we could see. 10 mins went by and we still didn't have a cache to show for our efforts, so it was time to look at photos and read logs. Once we were convinced we were in the spot, we concentrated our search there, and eventually we stuck our hands into a spot we had previously checked...but further than we had before and located the cache. I've been in a lot of caves throughout the Central Coast and Hunter region, and this one is certainly up there with the most interesting ones I've seen. Another great spot, and a lot of fun to get to.

Out and about today finding a few caches north of where I am house sitting for a month.
I am in Gosford to do a little shopping so I had better find a few caches while 'up north'.
The cache name is like a red flag to me.
AND there is rock climbing involved .... SAY NO MORE .... I am onto it.
It seems the climbing is only for the first one.
Now onto the 4th of the series. And more bush bashing to get to this one. A little scratches to show for it as well.
Well, not in the first cave ... so a bit more down climbing ...OH look another cave over there.
Quite a bit of searching and feeling and more searching and eventually I found it.
An awesome cave. A fav point for the cave. [^]
Thanks for the cacheI

All three done! Started at the trailhead/additional waypoint for #2 and trekked all the way here. Gunna suck going back lol.
shaunerlo found this one.
This cache was easier to feel for than to look for...
These caves and the general area were AWESOME! I explored all around the place like a cave-monkey.
TFTC and I'm keen to knock off more of these "No one is forcing you to do this" series. They're fantastic!!!

Got all four. Bit of a scramble. Taken just on three hours. Fabulous examples of wind blown erosion. Tftc
Enjoyed the last one a lot. Really cool area. Started off looking in the wrong cave, before heading into the correct one. Thanks to geocaching for once again showing me some really cool locations. TFTC!!! #655
Well...
Approached from a different suburb this time round and found a scramble downhill was easier than my previous escapade.
I really had trouble working out direction then.
Unfortunately not much time so couldn't reverse traverse to #3 but likely to do so soon.
Ta for this fantastic spot- just sat aligned with the pics and reached, then sat some more.
Met some locals too!

was out hunting another cache, and somehow found myself in close proximity to this one.
I applied pesky's 1st principal of geocahing , ignored the warnings, and did this a short quick way.
thanks for the hunt, this is an awesome area.
TNLNSL
found a n old old can that had lemonade in it. the can is so old that it didn't even have a ring pull the user had to punch a hole with a can opener. kind of amazing.I wonder how old that makes this can? left it there for others to see.

Found on a day out and down with BillHill531. The first four in this series was the main objective of our trip down today, to help fill in a few of BillHill's D/T grid.
This was our fifth find for the day. Again we followed the ridge line, but this time there were nice scary cliffs we could walk along and it did not take long at all to get to this last cache. Near GZ we found a softdrink can from the sixties and some other garbage. After a little scramble we were in the cave and had a nice rest while lazily searching for the cache. Lazy was not good enough and we had to concentrate a bit more to make the sneaky find. Then we just had to get back to the car.....
Thanks for the pushing us to the edge, and showing us this cool cave and for the cache!

Found with TOMBI! after another 36 min from #3. This makes the four complete. Nice hide the photos say it all. TFTC
Definitely my favourite location in the whole series cave wise. Such an excellent example of how majestic and fantastic sandstone can be. The only other two sided enterance cave that I have seen is in a top secret location which is reserved for the final of my Hawkesburry heights series! (ssshhhhhh!!!!). Thanks WTF for taking me to this great spectacle, I will add a couple of photos of the cave, hopefully will turn out to be a little lighter than the ones in the description! TFTC!!!!!
This one was a bit of a mission but very fun and enjoyable. I had previously found the other two in the area so I only had no.4 to go. Beginning at the suggested starting point I set off
I found the best strategy for this one was to stay low near the houses. Got a few strange looks from the the residents but no troubles. Took around 45 mins to make the 600m walk through the bush to the cache. Going past the small waterfall was fun.
Coming up on the gz I didn't remember the cave had two entrances I made the foolish choice to take the front entrance. Precarious to say the least. After a quick search and signing the log I took my my boots to relax and lie back with the some water. Great day, great adventure. TFTC!

We have been looking at these first four in the series for a while, so today I teamed up with Jfindit and we arrived at the beginning at approx 720 and headed off into the bush. We followed the pictures up the hill on our way to the first gz from there we stayed on the ridge line and made our way towards the second cache just as we arrived here It began to rain but fortunately the rain was only light and soon went, we then set off toward number 3 once again using the terrain to our advantage as we stayed high on the ridge making our way toward the final gz with this cache also struck off our list we made our way the what would be the final in this series for us today not long after the arrival at number four we got notification of a nearby cache published in Gosford and decided one we had this one signed off we would make our way out of the bush and head for it. Thanks for this series which we enjoyed all the caches are in good repair and we came out with only minor scratches which is much to be expected for these types of caches in this type of location
Total Caches Found 5811
After our sucess at No 1.2.3, We headed uo and across the hill towards No 4 much easier than the climb up. Once at the GZ after wending our way down to the correct elevation found the fantastic spider cave and the cache. After the signing duties were complete. We decided to head down the hill to Sunnyside Ave and backalong the road to the Vehicle and a much needed rest
Will award another favoutite for the location, WOW
Thanks Wests Tiger Fan for the great series thus far

After enjoying myself thoroughly searching for the first 2 in this series yesterday, I headed back over to Point Clare this morning to give 3 and 4 a shot.
Scouring sattelite maps and logs of past finders to find some local assistance, I determined that the firetrail would be the best option for a lone out of towner who didn't really know the lay of the land. I think it was all the talk of a boat and powerlines that got me wondering, so didn't take too long to find an approach. after a fair bit of wandering, I finally caught sight of the fabled boat on a hilltop, but as my compass was already insisting I change direction, this was the last I saw of the boat.
I needed to channel my inner rock wallaby making my way down to zero, and i just knew that my elevation at some stage would need to change sharply... and at 3m I found the perfect place.
I stopped inside to catch my breath and take a few photos. While resting a friend from Melbourne messaged, and he couldn't believe some of the photos I sent him from my current whereabouts, and we both agreed he too should soon visit this area... So rich with brilliant locations.
My search... I felt like i'd looked in every nook and cranny, but as is usually the case with such things, once I switched on the torch function of my phone, I spotted the container instantly. Cheeky camo, no wonder I had trouble spotting it.
Super rad spot, Wests Tigers Fan, enjoyed my journey here, and my time spent chilling at GZ... but no heres my issue. Over the last couple of days I've been forced to hand out fave points left right and centre, and I'm spending them way faster than I am earning them, so sadly, I can only give one fave point for the two caches in this series I did today. I'm gonna put it here, as I think although the experience was quite similar, I enjoyed this GZ just a tad more than it's neighbour.
Thanks again for bringing me here.

Made it from #3 in the series and a much easer than the trip from #2 to #3 with some great views along the way. With so many caves to choose from I spotted a couple that I'm glad you didn't see fit to use...!
Great coords again soon had the location spotted and I thought every cacher carried a pen and mini torch where ever they go, I know I do...! Took a while to look in the right spot and I can see how it could be over looked with another good camo job.
With 3 out of 4 cleared I'm going to head South to try my luck on "Grimm's Inn"
I will be back to have another crack at #1 very soon.
Thanks West Tigers Fan for the great deal of effort put into this series.
Had a great day doing what I did.

Came here via #3. Had again taken the 'high road' which provided great views and provided for some easier walking. Found the co-ords spot on, and was pleased to see there are various ways to get up and down around here (ie I'm glad I didn't end up standing on top of a line of sheer cliffs).
Now, I don't know much about geology, but I know what I like. What a great cave! I've learned to take a mini-torch with me everywhere now, and it was very useful here. Again another very nice little cache. Signed log and replaced the cache.
From here I headed down to Sunnyside Avenue, and stumbled upon the road that others have found. It looks like this dirt road has been made on the very border for lot 32, and I would guess that the road goes onto private land at approx where the "Private Property" signs are. I haven't checked with council or anything, but I would think that if you go straight ahead at the mailbox at the end of Sunnyside Avenue (ie straight into the bush under the powerlines and NOT along the dirt road to the left) you would not be venturing onto private land.
I then walked back to my car. I grew up on Sunshine Drive (right nearby) until I was about 10, so it was a nice bit of nostalgia walking down the streets I had played on as a kid. And walking past my childhood home, I see it is for sale! I might even call up and go for an inspection
Thanks for these caches West Tigers Fan, and for the efforts you have obviously put into them. I had a truly enjoyable adventure today.
Now, I don't know much about geology, but I know what I like. What a great cave! I've learned to take a mini-torch with me everywhere now, and it was very useful here. Again another very nice little cache. Signed log and replaced the cache.

I made my way to this cache from the ridge track above. I had just left my own cache where I replaced the container after it melted in recent fires and also met barefootjeff just a minute after re-hiding it.
The track down it's pretty vague, and then all of a sudden you come across a boat and dwelling, above you have the power lines to guide you a little.
Rounding the large rocky outcrop I was soon at GZ and facing a quite slippery climb into a frogmouth cave. This is a pretty rare feature in nature and I personally only know if two other such formations on the central coast. This cache gets a FAV instantly for bringing me here - it's simply a must do cache!
Found easy with the aid of a mini torch
Since #3 was in the direction of my car and the trailhead, I now made a beeline for it with light fading fast.
I zigzagged my way along the cliff line, blocked every couple of meters by fallen trees or some other barrier ughh
At no time did I see where I needed to be and eventually found myself at the bottom of the waterfall at the wrong elevation
Although I had torches, I really didn't relish walking out of here in the dark, and so this ones beaten me today. The sun's just dropped below the ridgeline and it's time to leave. Following the mossy rocks down, the lantana soon disappeared and on looking back uphill I think I see a way to GZ but it will have to wait until next time.
Suddenly i was in clear woods which went for quite a while and then I found a "lounge room" ala fire pit in the middle of nowhere [?]
I was soon following the firebreak along the back of houses and then over a creek, a fence and around the block to my car, luckily there was a short cut as well.
I'll be back.

Found 1:42 pm with MummaKel. TFTC. It was challenging locating the cache had just about checked every hole and cranny taking possible photo spots into accoun,t then MummaKel did TAF which narrowed the area and the one hole we hadn't noticed earlier.
Well I hadn't expected to be back for this so soon, but an afternoon caching with Mr Damage had me here. We attacked this from the closest entry point, and it didn't take much before we were where we needed to be, but then we spent quite a while poking about in the cave and lining ourselves up with the photo clues to no avail. Once we had pretty much scoured the place, I put out a couple of texts - and within moments we were put in the 'right' spot, where Mr Damage made the find in what must have been the only hole we didn't check! Nice cave, and nice cache WTF, this one is up to your usual standards. TFTH
I'd had an eye on this since it was first published as it seemed the least daunting of the four Point Clare caches in the series. I decided to approach it along the walking track from Penang St, turning off at the power lines. The rough track I was following seemed to peter out just as the ground fell away into the valley so bush-bashed just to the west of the power lines until finding myself on a fire trail with a boat and trailer parked just a few tens of metres from GZ! Realising I had to go down a level, I eventually found a gap between rocks I could clamber down and made my way around to the cave.
My next mistake was to try to enter the western opening of the cave, but in trying to find some footholds I ended up sliding ungracefully back down, with skinned knees and fingers to show for it. Scratching my head, I wandered around to the southern side only to find the correct opening. I should've looked at the photo I'd brought along! Using the other two photos to position myself, I then set about trying to find the elusive hiding place, eventually spying it just out of reach of my fingers. Luckily I'd brought a pen (take note, Sea Eagles), which I used to gently push it to where I could extract it.
Log signed and photos taken, I made my way back past the boat, only to find the fire trail became an easy-to-follow track that led all the way back up to the main walking track!
Many thanks for a challenging cache, definitely earned a favourite. Now I'll have to start pondering the remaining three.

Great hide. Took a while to find once at the location. Amazing cave and fun bush bashing. Worth the experience.
Coming across from number 3, I was wondering where a suitable spot was going to be - I had already started working out the kind of places that WTF likes to use. One the GPS counted down at about 30m, it became obvious enough.
Did some climbing, and spotted a snake skin hanging from the roof. Hmmm, better be careful as to where I feel around! Started a thorough search and came up empty. Looked at the photos, did some triangulation and narrowed down where it had to be. Hmmmm, still can't find it.
Recently, I met seaeagles1997 at a canyoning trip, and he looked like a particularly mean person , so with that in mind I did some nervous blind feeling, and touched something suspicious. A few seconds later my signature was under his charcoal scrawl. I replaced the cache in the same location, but made sure it was slightly visible.

Was at Gosford Station on the way back home from school and decided I would try walk back to Kariong. After checking the satellite I saw there was a track not too far off this cache that led to Kariong, which meant I could have another go at finding this cache. So back up I went through familiar territory until I reached the cave. It was extremely hot out in the sun and I had been walking for a while so the cave was the perfect shady spot for a rest. A quick check of the hint and the pictures and found it...in I kid you not... the only hole in the cave that we must not of looked in last time. Sort of scratched my name in the log with charcoal as I didn't have a pen with me.
Thanks WTF, another great hide and will give it the favourite point now

FTF at 5.20pm!! Woo hoo, that 3FTFs in less than 2 weeks for me - all West Tigers Fans caches! After some hard, hot, bush bashing and doing #3 in the series yesterday I ran out of time to hunt for this one. Today I returned and chose the easiest access and was soon at GZ . A lone person with just her geodog. The right cave was an easy find, but access up was a daunting thought as the fear of heights and slipping was foremost in my mind. I was halfway up, taking a breath and calming my fears when the pooch who was at the bottom stressing about being with his mom, scrambled up the rock and then looked at me as if to say hurry up! I made the find within 2 mins of entering the cave. Another great hide. We sat there for a while, cooling down and enjoying the lookout. We exited the cave differently thanks West Tigers Fan for another great caching adventure.

Well where do I start? After getting home from school early, due to finishing an exam, I checked the emails and saw there were a few more caches in this area. Caches less than two kms from home are too hard to ignore no matter how much study there is to do! After waiting until the GeoDad got home we decided to go on a little walk in the bush and just happen to stumble our way across these caches. Enjoyed the little walk to the cave and climbed over a few of the rocks before hitting GZ. We were initially looking in a different cave at the wrong level but soon realised where the correct cave was. There were no bats today so searching was easy. This is an AMAZING cave but there are sooooo many nooks and crannies to search. Not having access to the photos on the description we gave up and moved on to the next cache. After battling the mozzies there, we came up with the goods and with high spirits came back to this cache. After another long thorough search, poking my hand in every hole in the cave nothing was found, except some snake skin hung up across the roof of the cave. It was getting late so we had to leave it there and come home.
P.S I only saw the warning not to access from Sunnyside Rd after we had come all the in and on top of the ridge. Oops. We had no problems today however.
Thanks for hiding this cache West Tigers Fan if I could give a favourite point for a DNF I would, I couldn't believe the formation of the cave, a really good find! We will happily come back another day
