Logs
Coords worked out last night but no luck so after reading some logs overnight I was back today to test my luck. After visits visiting the RDFS and Bombing Museum (excellent BTW) it was back here for a easier find. Thanks for the fun and adventure
Well that took longer than it should have, we must have put our hands on it and not realised. Eventually log was signed as JST to save space. Greetings from Newcastle, England. TFTC
We werent quite sure what we should be looking for but eventually all was revealed. At the final coordinates we found the container although it was a few metres from where we expected to find it. Thanks to corunnaroad for the cache.
A cool little multi in an interesting spot. Hopefully I will be able to come back to explore when ai have more time! Thank you
Thank you for placing the cache here, I dont think I would have made my way to the pier without it. Once I found both stages I had a quick ice cream. 10/10 recommend Biscof TFTC
A quick scout of the area, the cords were out slightly on wp1 and then on to the final which was an easy find but cords out about 20 metres. I hope this helps anyone stuck thinking its on a boat. TFTC
OCW PelDroedGwin We. Had a little trouble with this one last time we were here however the CO shared the info that was missing from the WP. Back in the city today we headed for GZ to sign the log. Tftc
Found both the old and the new redirector. The old is completely degraded. The new got us to the cache.Freddo and e.gregory1 were heading up the middle of Australia following Stuart's well trodden route. We were travelling in air conditoned comfort and style. No stale food. No camels to carry water. We were leaving the cold winter for the northern season.Today was the day to find this cache. Today is the twentieth and ninth day of Julius Caesar's Month in the wonderful year of twenty twenty four. We found your cache container and added some inky stuff to the paper sheet or note pad you have supplied for a log book or scroll. The cache container and log book or scroll were in good condition. It was a cool cloudy and raining. No wind today. With the log signed and the cache replaced it was time to leave. Onwards to the next cache. Woot, that is not to far.I would like to show my respect and acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the Land, and their continuing connection to it. I wish to pay my respects to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures; and to Elders past, present and emerging.I will apologize right now, because everything from here on is here solely for the purpose of padding the word count and winning that one hundred word diamond badge again. Somebody moved the goal posts. So many caches to find. So many caches to log. We find them, sign them and replace them. This particular geocache was found using one of the following GPS enabled devices, Garmin GPSr, Montana 680t, Oregon 650 or Dakota 20 and an Apple iPhone 11 using the marvelous Cachly app. Waypoints and paperless geocaching were downloaded via GSAK 9. Log prepared, checked and submitted using GSAK publish logs macro.Warning, this hobby can be addictive. It can lead to exercise, meeting new people and finding interesting places you might not have known existed otherwise. Beware: you may have fun. Apologies for the generic part of the cache log. We do apologise for the generic logs. Thanks to all the cache owner for placing this cache here for our enjoyment. Thanks for the cache. Merci la cache. Danke fr den Cache. Gracias por el cach. Now in Darwin after arriving on the Ghan from Adelaide yesterday. We hopped on the Big Bus and happily hopped off at the museum on the wharf. Its fantastic! And theres a cache out here too. We had a bit of a struggle getting the container out at WP1 because the attachment is very strong. Then at GZ we had a few false starts in likely places as the phone was a little uncertain with the coordinates. But we found, signed and had time for a quick lunch before the Big Bus returned for us. SL TFTC Cheers Gaztek
Disregard my previous log, accidently signed the wrong cache... I'll write another note if I actually find this one...
Found it, turns out I was looking at the wrong perforated screen. Is in good condition is a good hiding spot not too hard to get to.
1st one found where GZ is... 2nd co ords seem wrong. Down on an area not accessible. I see a screen as mentioned, but no sign of end cache.
Hard to know if I'm in the right place. Didn't find, will try again if I see anyone else comments.
Coordinates changed from:S 12 28.217 E 130 50.950Coordinates changed to:S 12 28.221 E 130 50.954Distance from original: 34.0 feet or 10.4 meters.The previous spot was hard to get to
OCW PelDroedGwin Exploring the city on foot today. Found the container at WP1 but the two cards inside were in pretty poor shape and even with the required tool we were not able to read the next step.
I attempted this cache when last in Darwin over twelve months ago. Contacted CO as I was sure I was on the right track but the coordinates were difficult to ascertain. Un fortunately the reply came through after I had left Darwin. Back again and happy to report success. Is over twelve months a record for getting from way point one to the next (GZ) ? tftc
Found the box saying to leave the card, but there were no further co ordinates. Put in piece of paper with caching names on it into the container.
Found WP1 (good clue, thanks) however the card for the next waypoint has been significantly water damaged and is illegible.
Found the container at part 1 which was full of water and just completely unreadable so this might need to be checked.
Visiting from Halifax Nova Scotia, cruising on HAL around Australia...tftc out with salt&marbles
We were in Darwin Australia for the day on our ship - Holland America's Volendam. We had a route of caches and Adventure Lab Stops planned. We walked about 8 miles around the city, finding 6 caches and completing 15 Lab Stops. We went back to the ship to cool off and end our walk for the day#####################This Cache: However, checking Messages back on the ship, we saw that the CO had answered our Message about a problem with Stage 1 of this cache. With that resolved, Marbles went out, met GrtDane along the way, and the two of us walked in the sun and the heat of the day another mile round trip and found the cache - Phew!
We found w/p1 ok but not the co-ords to final - I see now that we didn't have the special tool with us.
Found container at WP1 but had not brought the right TOT to Australia with us to find WP2
Found stage one on the yellow box. As per previous posts, 2 x cards asking to leave co ordinent card in container, but no second stage co ordinents there. Unable to complete second stage.
Found it after visiting the RFDS centre (worth a visit!). I found the final coords on the aerial picture would take me to a locked area of the wharf, so I started looking about 10m south and with the help of the hint we found it immediately.
Found and signed, thank you. After visit to RFDS with probsty who did the numbers nda secret writing. The coords were a bit off so started looking at wrong perforations, but a wider search found the correct one and the cache located as per hint.
Well with a little assistance from the CO I was able to make the grab at the final.. thank you for filling in the info I needed to complete this multi. Just a few day visit here from Nor Cal grabbing a few on the way.TFTC DICTAHAM AND CLAN
Well I found stage one the yellow box and the cache container there, but the 2 cards inside did not have cords. Just the line to leave card in container. I was not able to locate the second stage. DICTAHAM AND CLAN
Found after our cruise on the harbour. Super hot today so I was happy with the quick find. Tftc!
All that was in the cache was a piece of paper saying "please leave card in container" but no card was in there No final coordinates
Enjoying my early morning walk out to the wharf, watching the local fishermen doing their best to land a fish, taking in the sights and sounds while reminiscing about previous visits. How Darwin has changed.
Information gathered and off I wandered to make the find.
I really enjoy this time of the day in the tropics.

Darwin to Adelaide Road Trip
Day Three: Darwin to Mataranka.
Weather: perfect
A precious cache here, as despite three trip back to the NT as a cacher, I haven’t been able to log a multi so far. Slim pickings in Alice Springs, and I managed to fumble the one at the cemetery there. This is my first return to Darwin.
I selected this cache as my best bet during my stay in Darwin, with some others in reserve if needed. So off I go to WP1. I find a container and no coordinates and so I message the CO. I get a prompt response pointing out the attributes, and on reading other logs afterwards, I’m relieved to see that I’m not the first one to have done this. The CO takes pity on the travelling cacher without TOTTs and gives me the final coordinates. In retrospect, I’m dubious that a TOTT would have revealed the coordinates - the material at WP1 looked like it had been through a cyclone, but this is a moot point now.
Armed with final coordinates, I return today and finish the job. I’m pretty sure that this earns me at least one challenge cache somewhere down south, a multi in all eight states/territories.
Definitely a FP here for that feeling of relief when I put my hand on the cache. Thanks for this hide corunnaroad, and for your help in getting me over the line here, very much appreciated. And my first trip back to Stokes Hill Wharf in almost 30 years.
It’s officially a mega - GCA1DNA “The Great Leap Forward”

After an amazing few weeks exploring the NT and parts of WA, it’s time to head home, but we have a few days in Darwin beforehand, and of course we have to cache around in that time! We’ve had a great time this trip finding some amazing caches, and Darwin was no different!
After a PAF we got GZ coords for this, but still no luck. After an extra hint, we got it as we were about to walk out the exit gate. TNLN SL
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache corunnaroad!

Our last day in Darwin. We have the day free for caching, so are grabbing various challenges and puzzles mainly, with whatever else appears…
Almost a DNF… coords about 20m off
Thanks for hiding your cache.

Apologies for the late log here (25.12.23) but I've had a mad time since getting back to the UK.As I recall it, the cache was missing/in place but unopenable/something else as I took a photo of GZ before heading into the Darwin Attack Theatre Experience thingy (very good. I also got overpriced chips) - Really enjoyed my look around and some light frustration with this one. Cool Ferris wheel too.TNLN-TFTC!SP (UK) on an epic trek right around the world.
We did revisit this cache twice to find the final GZ. We were confused initially and then worked out the coordinates were a bit off. Less people around today. Ending our trip to Darwin now...TFTC
On the road with iluvtrekking visiting Darwin together again after eleven years. Today was nominated for caching the waterfront area and we had so much fun. We noticed a lot of changes since our last visit. Thanks for the hide corunnaroad
Travelling with richlink on a trip from Perth to Darwin and return via Alice, Adelaide, and the Nullarbor. Now we have a few days to enjoy Darwin and do some caching. Thanks corunnaroad.
We came here prepared with the right toolsto find this one, but it has degraded too much to get passed WP1.

Went on the Charles Darwin cruise and took the opportunity to look for the cache. First waypoint was easy with the clue but unfortunately there are no coordinates for the second waypoint so as with the previous geocacher I was unable to find the final log book.

We were visiting the area with a local friend and c-pprass's sister & BIL and decided to show them what caching was all about, but we made a rooky error in not reading the attributes Tried hard to work out the co-ords from the first card, but in the end we just had to capitulate and PAF who gave us the co-ords and then it was another ball of fun! Well it wasn't actually as the GPSr pointed over the side of the jetty where a trawler was being repaired. Well we then started to just search where we thought the cache would be hidden and after literally giving up - p-pprass looks into one more spot which wasn't really in accordance with how we initially read the hint and spots it! Heck that was an ordeal for a mere 1.5/1.5 - but because we tiumphed - it was a really good cache
Thanks corunnaroad.

IolantheK and I solved a number of puzzle caches before we arrived from Brisbane.
This wasn't one of them but were eager to find give it a go
Well after a bit of searching we came up with our first clue...now what [?]
After a bit of a thing and without an extensive geocaching tool kit (all back in Brisbane) we decided to call in a PAF, are that's what's required, fresh out of those...
He was gracious enough to put us out of our misery and after some searching we had a log to sign [^]

T-Tech and I have flown to Darwin from Brisbane for a mini-holiday with our son and his wife and their two little ones. We met up with them at Litchfield Park yesterday afternoon where we explored Buley Rockholes and Florence Falls, and then we all headed down to Adelaide River to have dinner at Digger's Bistro, followed by the long drive back to Howard Springs. Today and tomorrow the others have a friend to meet up with, so T-Tech and I have two whole days to explore Darwin! Of course geocaches shall be our guide
We had done a few ALs then made our way around to this one, as I am a fan of multis. It's a lovely spot to be and wasn't too crowded so we were able to get parking nearby. A leisurely wander around brought us to the start and T-Tech laid hand to the container. It took some effort to get the cards out, but we had no idea what to do next, so resorted to a PAF who gave us the help we needed. (Of course, if I had read the Description back in Brisbane, I would have had the right tool with me!) T-Tech again did the hard yards and the final was shortly recovered. TFTC, corunnaroad.

We tried to find this one 2 days ago but ran out of time as we were boarding a Sunset Dinner Cruise. But we came back today on the Hop on Hop off Bus and with time to spare we found the cache but there were only cards to say leave these in the cache and no log book to sign. We had nothing with us to create a log book but were definitely here.
Out for the day with Wollaston and Liz and Bruce with caching as our tour guide. Needed to PAF CO for point 1, gz found quickly even though the area was busy with cruise patrons.

Spending a few days in the area. Thanks for hiding this cache and giving us the opportunity to explore . Got it with the help of the clue. Busy spot around sunset.
Discovered a problem at WP 1, will discuss with the CO to resolve. No luck for us today. Searched for 10 minutes and then searched a little more. Thanks for bringing us here regardless.
Found this one after an average dinner at crustaceans nearby. Dinner was ok but not special. Fortunately I had solved coordinates for the cache!!! I can confirm it’s still in place and in good condition. Hints very helpful here. TFTC
Found the first one quite easily, you may need a pair of pliers to get it out.
I found what I believe to be the second one, but I believe it has been muggled (

This first took me to the edge of the wharf close to the water. Just couldn’t do it knees were too wobbly. Thank goodness for the hints GPS settling down. TFTC
A nemesis cache for me, but not beacuase I couldn't find the container, more because I have been unable to glean the all important info from WP1. After flyig in from Brisbane yesterday, I picked up a few caches and made my way down here around dinner time. Off to the listed coords, out with the container and UV torch, but sadly unable to read anything. Hmm...
I flicked a message to the CO hoping I would get a reply before this morning and was exceptionally pleased to receive that within an hour or so. Thanks very much. [^]
With some vital information on hand, I returned at sunrise this morning to finish the job. A few anglers around as I imagined there would be, but all good to go at GZ and I soon had the container in hand. I swifftly added my name to the log and returned before anyone came around the corner.
Very pleased to have yet another one of my 'really want' caches off the list here in Darwin. Only one more, so let's see how that goes.
Cheers corunnaroad.

Out n about collecting more smileys through the cbd today. TFTC We had the required tool but the coordinates could not be revealed, a message and photo to the CO who filled us in with the missing info, a fun little multi
What great cycle paths Darwin has. Cycled from Marrara to City and Back total 42 klm picking up a few caches along the way. Reasonably good day, with only a couple DNF's. Lovely weather getting used to the 33deg days.
we attempted this one on our first visit doing caching in 2015, but did not have the right tool. Today we were armed with the tool, but proved difficult in the bright sunny day. A quick msg to CO had us in the right location and cache signed. Lovely spot for some lunch if you make this your halfway point of caching in town.

Could the next person who goes to WP1 please remove the log someone has placed there. It is not needed. Thanks
Found WP1 then scratched my head. Read the previous log and realised I was unprepared also. Mine is also about 3500km away.
Note. A previous found log mentions no log book so they added one and asked that maintenance be performed. They are a relative newly so maybe shoot them a note explains the multi concept.

Not so much a DNF but more a NRP (not really prepared).
I found WP1 and could not work out how the rest was found.
Now I notice the attribute needed.
Dam no luck as mine is about 3,500km away.
You may want to check WP1.
Someone has thrown in a log and a few people are just signing this.

Thanks to CO and Monchichi1 for assistance with the UV as Mrs Riddell had difficulty obtaining any while in Darwin.
This was a perfect finish for Mrs Riddell final caching day in NT as she will be in the noon flight back to Melbourne to rejoin Mr Riddell.
Thanks especially to this CO for all the wonderful work in crating some very good class challenges.
Not sure if I’m up for any more dam Banyan trees, though!!!

Knew it was there, nearly gave up found at last. 1st find in NT. No log in cache signed piece of paper and placed in cache before returning in special space. Maintenance required.
We came down to the wharf to check where I will be leaving on a fishing charter tomorrow, so I thought why not pick up a multi while we were at it!!! The hints definitely helped with the gps! Thank you!!!
Took a bit longer to find the first wp as I didn’t check the hint straight away and then I didn’t have the tott but managed to get reasonable numbers after a bit of work. After trying a few places, found it. Luckily a quiet morning. Tftc
Playing tourist at home, kids and I tried our first multi! Lots of looking and then lots more after checking the hints. But found it! Be persistent!
While visiting Darwin for the first time and spending some time here, I intend to find some of highly favourited local caches. This cache is one of those and today was a good day to explore the Waterfront precinct
With this one, I got stumped already at WP1. The Google Map satellite image placed me in a spot which was accessible OK but still felt somehow strange. Looking at the hint, I spotted something suitable but that didn't yield anything useful for the next leg. Perhaps I ought to be have been bolder in my search but feeling like a fish out of water led me to return back to being normal rather quickly.
This will need to remain a cache to be conquered. Perhaps next time when in town. TFTH, Corunnaroad!

I wanted to check out the wharf at some point in my brief stay in darwin, so being in the area yesterday, wandered down to see what i could make of this multi re-boot.
Wp1 was uncovered quickly enough and with a little perserverance sans tott managed to wrangle myself some final coords.
Then a stroll and a longer wait for muggles to clear the area and i soon had the logbook in hand.
Signing duties done, i continued on my zigzag meander around the waterfront.
Thanks corrunnaroad for keeping a cache alive in this most iconic of local locations.
Found an hour or so before an epic sunset over the horizon.

So many people here when I tried to get to GZ.
Sunset cruises, fishing charters returning home. Restaurant foot traffic etc.
Weekends are not the best time to visit.
So I tried to get here through the week, but spent too much time on getting some other caches and was getting dark. So today this was my challenge being a Thursday after a work. GPS had me in a part of the wharf that seemed right and matched the hint and I spent about a good 20mins with no Muggles to no avail. Something else that the hint had in common was about 20m away, and I soon got busy hunting in this new area.
Sure enough I spied the telltale signs of a cache and BINGO.
Log signed and I was happy.

Scooted over from the hotel. Made a quick find on our second attempt with a hint. Tra La Laaa
Came here the other day without luck. Contacted CO who pointed me in the right direction. After dinner the Supa's made the find. Thanks
Will check after the corona virus problem has gone away. Don't want to archive as yet.
Disabled until I can check. May take a couple of weeks as I am not in Darwin at the moment
Found first cache, but couldn’t keep searching because the clue inside was soaked and illegible.
Was unsure as to whether to log this or not, could only find the first cache as the clue inside that one was soaked and couldn’t be read. Hopefully this gets fixed!
