Parked up here after a long journey with many stops from Greymouth (how many geocaches!) for a rest and cup of coffee. Just before leaving I thought I should look to see where the next cache was and it was 3m behind me! TFTC
The tree next to the cache is a bit spiked as we found out the hard way. Cache was quickly in hand!
Today we took a daytrip to Rangiora to check on a few babies and included a few stops along the way.Last time we were here we noted the logbook though dry was looking abit sad. Its been here 10years so its lived a good life.New logbook in so its All good to go here again. Happy Caching
Found it! We had accidentally blown past this one on the way out, and noticed as we passed that it would be an easy place to park and jump out, so we made sure to get it today on our way back. Easy find, TFTC!
There was no service so I was on a bit of a goose chase but ended up finding it along with a few Beatles under the rock
Mum had a Lion meeting in ChCh so she checked this on the way. All nice and dry and where it should be.
Happy Caching

Just as I was finishing putting it back a couple of camper vans pulled up. Luckily they didn't notice me. Thanks for placing.
Glad to finally tick this one off, no reception to check details etc the first time here or this time,, used my cacher brain and cache was so glad to soon have cache in hand. Tftc
Found while driving from Christchurch over to Hokitika. Flat plains to the sky and now into the foothills. Magic scenic country. TFTC
Was about to continue on without looking for this one as some work machinery was parked nearby. On closer inspection they were empty so made a quick find while the coast was clear
I am out on my own today, big bro had other things to do and besides he has found these caches earlier.
I am mainly locating and signing off th BtG series and any others that get in the way.
One of the others.
Cheers for the cache.

Only snow on the very tops of the mountains today. But the nights are cold. Hope the snow stays away for a few more days. Quick snag and grab here. Cheers.
Friday today, we explored from Rangiora to Lake Lyndon
Its Queens Birthday weekend and The Seagnoid, Zara and I are heading out of town for a long weekend to Arthurs Pass, via Kaikoura. Had a fantastic weekend, seeing lots of new places, limestone formations, amazing views, awesome beech forest walks, but getting nowhere fast. Bloody cold at times with -3deg frosts but thankfully the snow stayed on the top of the highest mountains.. Enjoyed driving back via Lake Brunner, Murchison. An awesome few days exploring.

A nice sunny day today - snow would be very unexpected! Actually I was amazed at just how un-sunny it was back home in Blenheim. While the dragon and I spent four days exploring this road, it has been raining pretty much non-stop in Blenheim.
Taybeedragon and I are on a five day extended Queen's Birthday weekend. Happy birthday marm! The plan was to cache the Arthur's Pass route, from Rangiora to Lake Buller. You would think four days was enough to do the 211 kilometers, but we didn't even manage the 130 to Arthur's Pass village before we had to pull the pin Monday lunchtime for the drive back to Blenheim. But on the way we saw some amazing views, strange geology, weird amounts of ice in the puddles, ice on the inside of our windscreen - it was that cold. Caves, wonderful beech forests, rather a lot of bridge barriers and even a cache or few. And there was blisters, sliding down icy grassy hills on our bums (what fun!) and rather a lot of walking. Many thanks to all the cache owners that made this such an amazing trip.

Day 4 of our West Coast road trip and time to head back to Christchurch. Stopped to collect these park and grabs whenever we could safely pull over - had to miss a few as too many cars behind us. TFTC
A very quick p&g. No one about. On my way to Castle Hill for step son's wedding tomorrow. Thanks for the hide!
I looked there and found nothing, Richard checked again and found it! Bagged the hut across the road too.
Onto the trail proper now, it's caching all the way for lots of park n grabs and a couple of modest walks.
It's the last full day of the trip and I intended to make the most of the day and was up with the lark, cockerel more like, and in the car at 0530 ready to get going. I called in for an early brekkie and hit the road early to meet Ricardinho.nz at Springfield. We cached our way back to the West Coast via road barriers and others en route and I set off for home after leaving him in Greymouth after visiting all 8 of the TMGT caches there. Home at 7PM and a decent haul of over 80 caches, including 5 Earthcaches. Awesome scenery and views and a cracker day of weather too. 620KMS for the day travelled and time for a rest!
It's that time of year again when Marlborough residents get a double bubble, two 3-day weekends in a row and a chance to get out there and find some caches. Last weekend I headed over to Golden Bay with ricardinho and we managed a healthy numbers-boosting haul of 82 over 2 days. This weekend I'm planning on finding some already solved Canterbury caches and get me closer to a 5 figure finds number, the big 10,000. At the start of toSaturday this was a 4 day, at the end it was a 120 plus day!!
The Saturday was planned to be a big day and to get over 100 caches in a day if possible and start converting those puzzle pieces into smiley faces. Success was achieved in that we found over 120 each. I personally found my missing Smurfs, Metal Mania, Glossary of Geocaching as well as a number of other solves and collateral Traditionals. The Canterbury weather turned it on and a good day was had with ric.nz driving and me navigating (sort of)
The Sunday was a Geo-art loose ends day. My plan wqas to track down the remaining Smurfs, round up some horses and grab a couple of loose Eclipse mint tins. I also explored the realms of Springfield in preparation for a return across SH73 on Monday.

Last day of the long weekend and a long drive back to Blenheim via Greymouth (yep, that’s right) with the goal of getting a whole heap of ‘bridge the gap’ caches and anything else easily accessible or interesting.
With a lot of kms to travel, there was not room for much more unfortunately.
So a successful trip but the real heroes were the weather and the scenery.
I had forgotten a bit how stunning it can be in and around places like Castle Hill and Arthur’s Pass, and a great spring day with snow-capped mountains for a backdrop made a bit of a self-inflicted slog actually quite enjoyable.
Thanks all COs, and sorry for the cut and paste, but I hope you can understand why. All logs signed Cap/ricnz or variations on the theme.

Wouldn't want the unexpected to happen now? Only snow on the top tops today so beautiful tftc
Snow would be a surprise here. Today it was mild autumn day, rainy at West and sunny at East coast. TFTC.
Again no coverage so winged it. Lifter a stone to reveal human excrement which slowed me down a bit. Luckily gz was clean. Thanks for the cache
Well the triped to the coast started out great, right untill the Flat Tyre, and the wheel nuts that had been tightrn with a rattle gun, that we could not undo, but one call out new trye and 4 hours and $388 we were on our way again, stll manged to get 50 odd caches for the day, many thanks to all the cache placers - Bitsprayer
Nice easy find, have always wondered what the hut was for, sticker from hut door
No unexpected snow blast today, in fact we couldn't have asked for better driving conditions considering it is mid winter.
A quick find here then back on the road.
Thank you gracie7 + Mum.

Thank you gracie7 + Mum.
Our caching expedition was delayed for a few days because of snow but the road was clear and no chains were needed today. Thank you gracie7 + Mum
A quick grab here but not impressed by all the rubbish nearby......why do people not take it with them!!
On our trip from Arthur Pass to Cristchurch we had a lot of stops and discoverd caches like this. TFTC!
Found this geocache while taking a rest on the beatiful Arthur's Pass road. It was my first visit in New Zealand and I cannot believe how beatiful this country is. TFTC!
Today's mission was a drive from Christchurch to Greymouth on my way home to Nelson. Trying to find 'a few' caches along the way. It's been ages since I travelled this route so there were actually heaps of caches to find and at the end of the day my tally was 81. Biggest cache day for me for a while.Found this one after a bit of a search. Also checked out the wee hut across the road. TFTC, Biggles.
We were on the way to ChCh so stopped here to do a random check on the cache while passing.
All good here we just added a new bag. Happy Caching

Tricky with no service- no description or hints! Found it in a snug place eventually . Tftc!
Easy find on my way back to the city. Many times I've passed right by the cache hiding-place on my way up the Kowai valley. Thanks and cheers from Grandalf(2497)

This had been a day in the planning, and a day to look forward to for quite a while!! I took the day off motherhood, left the baby girl with daddy, and headed out to go find some caches - heaps & heaps of caches! - with my mum. Trying to get closer to knocking out as many of those within 80km of home as possible. Not too bad, as I think we found 51 in the end! Well, 51 for me, and a few less for mum. Plus the weather mostly held out!
TFTC!!

A good sign of addiction - leaving the grandchild behind while going caching with your adult daughter! We finally found a day we could both get away, and we headed off into the wild to find some! Great day, even though the weather was a little suboptimal. Lots of fun, TFTC!!!
A quick find on the way to ChCh from the coast. Cache soon found and log signed
On the way to Greymouth for a 21st birthday so decided to grab a few more along the way.
Stopped off and found within seconds. TFTC.
