First cache in Australia! I found it yesterday but had to wait until today for wifi. Awesome location. TFTC! [#208]
Day 15 of my fortnight+ road trip up to Brisbane and back to Blue Mountains. Will my geomobile repairs be completed today? Heading back to Brisbane via two new LGAs after an overnight stay in Toowoomba. Now in Ipswich City LGA for another find. TFTC TrickyT for my geofind count 2327.
Awesome TFTC the kids had a ball running round to try find it. We welcomed a new person to the game.
Went searching for a while and actually put my hand on it but dismissed due to rubbish. But there it is innocently waiting. I AM GUR
After an amazing walk up and down hills from where my brother parked crossing the busy Road and then going up to the top of pyramid I was in the dress and thongs so not the best searching attire I tried my best for what I was wearing but it was a fail from me todayI am Currently in Ipswich for a family event, very excited for my little brother wedding But also as exciting is that this trip makes a great opportunity for geocaching andtrying to get more fuel for the cosmicquest and what excellent timing this is all is.Thank you so much for the placement of this hide.
Out for a walk in Ipswich today with Kolour. We parked at the Enchanted Forest and walked along the river to the top end of town then back to Queens Park before returning to the car. This was the last stop on our planned loop and a lovely park to stop and visit. The old trees are quite impressive. We did a quick search and couldn't see anything so I started reaching in a bit further and soon I felt something hiding in there. Thanks for this great hide TrickyT and for showing us this piece of preserved history!
Brissy Cat and I spent today geocaching in Ipswich. There were a couple of caches that had an attribute that we were wanting for a challenge and I have never looked around the area, so decided it was time. We did a loop walking about 8km and besides a few caches, found 15 AL waypoints. After admiring many buildings and walking through Queens Park, we came to this interesting little place. We searched both trees but it was Brissy Cat who groped in the right place. Coordinates were pretty good. Logbook signed but forgot to look for the clue. A nice little park with no one else about. Tftc
Took us a little longer than expected. But very happy to come to this amazing place and make the find. Thanks so much for placing.
Found after a tour of the Ipswich Little Theatre in the re-purposed incinerator designed by Walter Burley Griffin. TFTC
Not sure why the GPS sent me here. Not GZ but Ipswich!Guess it had a lot to do with the long trip via public transport and the early morning start. But the primary reason Im here is for work. After poking around the tree, found the right slot and then the cache. Thanks TrickyT for setting up this cache.
I headed off to Ipswich today, for the witches night markets and to help my daughter out.Decided to hit a few along the way.I found your cache, AWGS: Explorer - Allan Cunningham 9 today. This is my 2764 find. After groping in all the wrong places, I eventually found what I was looking for.TrickyT, TFTC, TFTH & TFTSF
We were out hunting oldie and somehow we managed to pickup this one along the way.
Thought this would take forever but the boys were on fire. Thank you for showing us this beautiful spot
After the events this morning, after finishing up at Upper Brookfield we headed more west side of Brisbane. To grab more oldies. We found 5 more caches. This was next on the list. Cache was found, signed and replace back. TrickyT thank you for placing and maintaining this cache for geocaching community enjoyment.
Fantastic spot I would never have seen if I hadnt been stopping to find a few caches during a beak in my trip. Worth the trip just to be able to say the explorer and I may be connected through history by sitting under a tree.
Love the view! Got so lucky with the cache, one of the first places we looked. Tftc:)
pulled a foot muscle but was worth combing around and being able to take in the beautiful view
Searched for ages here. 4 sets of eyes and a good 40min search.
Sticks and torches on this one really weren’t enough.
Geodad had to put his arm in and around before finally making the grab. The last place left to check.
Amazing cache! Lots of hard work.
We got to watch the most amazing sunset here and take in the gorgeous view.
TFTC!

Maintenance check here today. All good to go and trackable I've held far too long added to continue its journey. Sad to see so much rubbish left around this beautiful site.
With so many having difficulty with this one I've adjusted it slightly. Still have to go in but no longer up. In about 30cm and feel around. Happy hunting.
Yes, it's a hard one but is definitely there. Checked on it 2 days ago and it's snug and safe.
Had two pairs of eyes and two arms looking and feeling every nook we could but no luck here.
Out hunting with dkdk, looked in every possible nook at GZ for ~45 to no avail. Will be back to re-attempt
Despite all the hints I read to help find this cache, I was not able to find the nook that the CO had said it was placed in.
Fun, got it with a stick opened it up and had a spider, screamed and dropped it. Very good spot
What an interesting monument!
Used a trusty geocaching stick to help us out with this one. Finally one that I got to say, “Found it.” 15 today!
TFTC. Found with Loutastic!

Very scary reaching in and around for it and when I pulled it out it had a massive huntsman spider on the case. Not for the faint of heart
Today, a late plan was made to hike to Flinders Peak, and walk a circuit via Mount Blaine. Flinders Peak was an enjoyable and well-trodden track up, however, Mount Blaine was a steep rock scramble and a morale challenge. I then took the opportunity to visit various geocaches in the Ipswich area, which included South Ripley, Swanbank, Flinders View, Eastern Heights, and finally Brassall. Highlights included the Box Flat Memorial, Limestone Park, and Haig Street Quarry Bush Reserve.
So firstly, I must apologise for raising the *Needs maintenance* log; I could have sworn that I thought there seemed to be only the one nook that could have hidden a cache based on the hints and previous logs, and a careful search there didn't yield anything. So back today to attempt to avenge my DNF from 7/03/2022, and I wandered up to see a couple of locals sitting in between the cluster of trees. I said my greeting, and then they seemed to leave me alone as I regained my memory of these trees with their possible hiding nooks and ultimate secret. I thought there may have been one nook, but again, that didn't yield anything, so I returned back to my favoured and previously declared completely missing of any cache spot. However last time, my fear of dangerous animals and spiders lurking inside was dismissed to prioritise a smiley, so my arm lurched in, and I started to feel around. Still no cache, so I returned back to what I had noted and a few recent success logs. Another attempt, and this time, my hand felt something, and I realised that it was the camouflaged cache. I think my issue last time was going in too deep, and perhaps over-thinking the hint that I needed to aim "up". As I pulled out the cache, my previous fear had some truth, as I pulled out a large tarantula spider on the cache camouflage, and it scampered inside the cache. So some juggling work to lose that cache guardian, and I finally had access to the logbook. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. The moral of the story: Only those who are brave will yield the cache find (perhaps like the Explorer Allan Cunningham - and maybe that is the connection to be made here). Thanks TrickyT for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

Popped in here today and can reassure you all the cache is still in it's nook and waiting for you.
Checked on this one and can assure you it's where it should be. P.S. no sign of the eggs shown in the previous log? Good to go.
Didn’t want to spend too long there after noticing the soon to be cache guardians.
With much bravery shoving my hand I never would want to i DNF. Thanks to a recent tip from another hunter I believe I know the right tree and the right spot. Spent 30 minutes looking and suspicious if it’s still there haha thanks anyway will try again some other time
All the spots the seem to be the spot came up empty. Full of spiders too. If it is here, we would still like to find it!
Cheers,

A quick check in here and can confirm it's still happy in it's little nook. Please note you can't see it, you have to feel for it. Not a long reach, about half arm length in. Happy hunting.
This evening with the publish of a couple of new geocaches in Ipswich, I decided to make the drive and explore the area. I quite enjoyed seeing a few of the local monuments and the University of Southern Queensland campus, and I ended the night by checking out a few creek caches.
I hadn't planned on visiting this one as I didn't want to spent a wad of time searching for a TrickyT tricky cache! But as I was preparing my travels for heading home, I was driving past this cache, and so I thought I would make a stop and search anyway. This was a pretty cool pyramid and monument, so I ascended up the tiers to find some really cool trees waiting for me at GZ. I then made several loops around the trees. I think I was here for about 20 minutes, and I suspect/swear that I found the right nook that holds this hidden cache. I cleared the webs , and took multiple approaches with feeling around trying to grab this cache. After trying with my hands, torch and phone camera, I couldn't find any evidence of this cache, so in the end, I left with a frown. It was still a pretty cool location though. Thanks anyway TrickyT for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

In the area with grannysmith1947 to do a couple of Adventure Labs and couldn't resist coming up to higher ground to see these amazing and beautiful old trees. The pathway leading up was also a talking point for us with so much quartz embedded in numerous rocks, it sure was a pretty sight.
Once we reached GZ our search began and it was the good hint provided that geo buddy used to made the well hidden find within a few minutes. Well done to the CO who certainly lives up to their name, a tricky hide indeed.

We did not find this one today, spent a good while looking high and low. But do be wary when searching around as we found two used needles tucked into the tree crevices.
Found this one a long while ago but couldn’t log it then. Came back to correct that
Spent the morning looking at the historical homes around town and picking up caches along the way. TFTC
I grew up in this area and spent many days in Queens Park. In town for a family dinner so decided to do some geocaching while here. Found with OzAllens
Celebrated this find with a stop at the cafe in the queens park.

In Ipswich waiting for my car to be serviced. Had a bit of a look around and found a few caches. I did forget a pen but too a photo of proof of find.
This is a cool spot for a cache, a fp from me.

Out to celebrate a 96th birthday for a great grandfather at Queen's Park. Great grandchildren enjoyed searching for this cache. Of course the 13 year old boy was prepared to brave dark places.
Left the TB in the cache for the next person to help it along with its travels. Signed log and replaced as found TFTC.

Out pedaling around the labs in town. I parked near this one to do it and a nearby multi. I was thinking this would be a DNL. It did not look good on a bike. I made my way around towards GZ and saw that I would not have to go too far from my bike after all. Bonus that there was not a soul in sight anyway.
Got lucky with the right spot straight away here.

Awesome spot for a cache! Wandered across from Queens Park to grab this one. Hiked up the rocky path and admired the beautiful trees. Finding the cache was fairly straightforward but well put together (as always from this CO). TFTC.
What an awesome spot to hunt bit hesitant to poke my hands around but luckily no spiders
No parking so walked over from queens park.
Great pouch and cache container camouflaged well, took a few walks around the trees before i spotted it.
Got lucky and swapped with a Travel Bug trackable 1HJRRT, very excited to locate it to another cache

I will admit to having visited here more than once... today I found the cache virtually in plain site, so I’ve returned it to a place that made sense of the clue, even though I know I thought I’d searched there thoroughly on my last visit...
Very happy to turn this dot yellow...
Thanks TrickyT for the cache... you have to wonder how this view will change over the next ten years...

Found on Friday night but phone played up all weekend and had no credit Friday night so couldn't log when we found this cache
Quick and easy find. Found it within a minute searching. Unfortunately didn’t bring a pen to log will return to put a small pen inside.
Find #38 - MMEandK all present. Found by M1.
This is a great spot and very quiet, I suspect because there is no car parking near the park where the cache is located. Thanks for the informative description and also for bringing us to this spot.
Geokids appreciated swapping some swag.
This cache is in good condition.
Signed Log.

I went for an early morning walk from my motel to find a couple of caches. I was a bit wary of thus cache given the D level. Approached slowly and let my GPS guide my search. Soon had the cache in hand which was a relief. Great spot for the cache and some interesting history round here. TFTC, Biggles.
