cache find #2841. Found what remains of the cache, and plastic bag and gel pack. This cache will not remain here long, amongst the rubbish. TFTC.
After 2 DNFs of archived caches, one nano muggled and one regular bulldozed, I looked around for this one with not too much hope as in another muggle area.
Turned around and spotted something on the ground.
It looks like a cache with no lid or log.
Thanks Speedmistress This archived cache not looking good.

Due to the unpredictability of the dam's opening and closing I am closing down all of my caches in this area. Thank you to those who have enjoyed the caches in the past.
Following a successful hunt and find of the nearby RB, I was 'encouraged' by a group of Muggles that I (Mr Esky) was with to 'find one more'. One of the guys already had the geo-app downloaded on his iphone, he just didn't know what to do with it. Unfortunately, the signal didn't work for him on the day, so we couldn't get any of the details to download, however I was able to see on mine that there was a nearby candidate.
I explained the details of the hunting process to him, and how to look around for likely hiding spots. As we were walking towards GZ, I told him that I could already see the cache and he should be able to spot it too.
After retrieving the cache, signing and also demonstrating how to replace correctly, we went back to the serious business of cooking a BBQ.
TFTC!

Managed to be standing in just the right spot and looking in just the right direction to find this one. TFTC!
Coming midweek meant we had the place practically by ourselves in such a lovely tranquil setting. TFTC
[font=Comic Sans MS]Hi there Speedmistress. We found your cache "Mick" at 12:51:00 PM today.

I have not been caching in a serious sense since early May. Back in the saddle yesterday and it was after 1600 when I arrived in Toowoomba so drove home via a few on the New England Highway.
Back today and started with the Cooby Dam lot that are available. The are still roadworks on Gate to the Dam Wall is still closed. Quick find on this one at 0843. Number five out of the way. Parked up close and found after a very short walk with the whole place to myself with just the noises of the wild life for company. A little chilly so not taking my coat off yet. I found this one quickly as I nearly walked into it. Signed log YOF as this is what I use on Nano and Micro logs to safe paper. TFTC.

Today we did a full day of caching in Toowoomba region. From the town region & out to Cooby Dam.
All the caches we found were in good condition & some wonderfull & scenic locations.
Thanks for placing this cache Speedmistress

All set for a super long week-end in Toowoomba from Friday until Tuesday.
I am in town to find all of the new caches in the area since I left town year ago.
Today's adventure started out here at the dam. I have been to this side of the dam before for my Aunty's 80th B'day.
Continuing the walk around all of these caches. This one looked tricky but got lucky and spotted it quickly.
Thanks for the cache.

We came down to Cooby Dam this afternoon and found that we had the place to ourselves. In the fading light and with spot on co-ords we, unlike the previous finders were able to make a quite quick find. Sometimes we get lucky like that but, not to often.
We signed the log book and then moved on to the last of the Speedmistress Caches in the area. We have now found more Speedmistress Caches than any other hider.

Enjoying a long weekend we decided to head out to Cooby Dam for the afternoon and finish the caches off. This was the third for today and this one proved to be a little trickier and it took all 3 sets of eyes coming at different angles for us to finally make the find. TFTC Speedmistress

Unfortunately didn't get a chance to look for this one as a couple were reading papers at the picnic table and another guy was sitting in his car a short distance away.
Today was a great day for this lot of caches.. Drizzly rain kept most muggles away, except for the odd fisherman.. And I think I spotted a few other cachers.
This one had me going for ages.. Almost gave up.. In the end, approaching the gz from different directions is what saved me. Tyftc

12 Km from home.
With a week off I had planned a Wednesday Wander around the edge of “The Range” looking for Air Cache Investigation. However, with the weather turning to custard and still sporting permanent scars from the last time I attacked The Range in the wet; I have opted for a Cooby Cache Cruise instead.
Mick, YOU STINK! Nothing quite like the mixed aroma of rotting kelp and fish heads to spoil a cool breeze off the dam.
Spent a lot more time on this one than I expected, having spotted Mick’s plaque on my way in I parked the car and left the engine running, this one is easy right?
Checked the phone and I’m 60+ metres off the GZ, this one is easy right? Wander over to the co-ords and around and up then down then high then low. By now the Geomobooble has been idling away for about 15 minutes, decide to wander back and turn it off, decide to drive over closer to the cache as I think I’m going to be here a while. Park the car, wander back to the co-ords, spot the cache, sign the log and make my escape still shaking my head wondering how come I couldn’t find it that easily 20 minutes ago.
The co-ords were good, the hide, the log and the container are all in good nick.
Thanks for the cache Speedmistress.
