The views are epic. We went up to the lookout and shot the attached shot. Found on the Mega Capital Geobash coastal loop via Adelaide - Barrington - coast to Mexico City loop. A lot of caches and white line fever was sweated out. Thanks ms-enchantress and clear skies from TeamAstro. Cache the planet! Gave up hit some other caches and came back on way home, found dead lorikeet, 1 copper head and stuck my whole arm in the creepy hole in the tree( for nothing). Decided to trust gps location and went back to first spot I looked in the less creepy hole. Log is quite wet but good hide.

The day was forecast to be one of those rare pleasant days in winter... so I took the opportunity to drive down to South Gippsland Shire and Baw Baw Shire to hunt out a few caches... the things you do when you take on *LGA Challenges*...

With the afternoon starting to creep away, it was time to start heading north... and several stops to find caches around Strzelecki... including a stop for this cache... which turned out to be a bit of a longer stop than expected... it took a fair amount of searching before I hit upon the location of the cache.

Thanks **ms-enchantress** for keeping this cache going.

Find 3142
We spent quite a bit of searching for this one and nothing was presenting.
Kept coming back to a spot we had checked previously.
Finally the sneaky well hidden cache was discovered.
Log signed and all back safe as found.
Thanks

A quick find headed along the back roads for... well, I've decided I need dog food, and warragul looked to have a lot of unfounded caches. Ok, there's a highway between my place and there, but that's n not half the fun.
This cache is in n good condition, but will need a new log sheet soon. I love how victoria plants yes for memorials. Very pretty.

Too snakey, we were met by an enormous tiger snake as we rounded the tree. Gave up from that point!

Enjoying the drive in the hills and starting to head back towards home now.
Plenty of space to park here.

Started the search and then thought along the lines of where would I hide it? Found in the first spot I checked after that thought.

Thanks de ja vu

Another great year of geocaching was concluding, heralded not only by the usual fireworks scheduled for midnight, but also surefoot24's NYE event at a far earlier hour of the day!
The weather was heating right up, but with the Astra's aircon blasting and a Maxibon consumed just before the event kicked off, there was nothing buhfuhguh and I couldn't handle with a nice collection of caches in the surrounding region found prior to arriving in Nyora.

There were a lot of spots to check around here, so we got to work right away and initially strayed a bit further from gz than we should have.
A slight readjustment and we were getting closer, though with still a considerable amount of hiding possibilities to work through.
It was then that buhfuhguh noticed something a little unusual a short distance from where we were, went to investigate and subsequently uncovered the cache!
This is a very clever placement, certainly a bit tricky but I'm glad to have found it in the end!

Thanks to de ja vu for placing this cache here! Smile

Out and about today with Brainiac03 for another day of caching and another event and final event for the year. We'll another year ends a new one begins.

With this little cluster around to be the main focus for the pair of us today we proceeded all in all with no real stress or drama.

Thanks for the caches, the laughs and the adventures

We found it! Don't need to go as far as you think.

26-Oct-21
This hide took quite a while! We spent a lot of time looking over and obvious place but it was not until we moved on after trusting the GPSr a bit more that we were able to make the find. Even then, it was very well hidden.

It has been a while since we have neen able to get out caching. What with Covid lockdowns, then Mrs SKI breaking her ankle, and Rebel being out of action we have had quite a gap.
But today everything came together. The weather was lovely and everyone was available to head out.
We had noticed a number of new caches had popped up in the Leongatha area, so that added to a few high D/T rated caches in the area was enough to have us heading in that direction.
A successful day was had with only one DNF and as usual plenty of laughs and banter.
All logs either signed as SKI Pair or RASP (Rebel Acts & SKI Pair)

Thank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cachede ja vu.

This was my first weekend in Melbourne for months, owing to some birthday and other engagements. Saturday was free however so I teamed up with OzHockeyChick to go exploring for the day.

A very tricky hide. I had looked at this spot before and discounted it but decided to take a closer look after not being able to locate it elsewhere.

Thanks de ja vu for the cache.

With the restrictions eased and after being stuck at home since march I decided to arm Myself with plenty of gloves and a litre of hand sanitizer and head out in to the country side to do some caching, I was joined by my caching mate Omegaman 1971 we did a big loop from Warragul through PooWong around to Nyora and then back over the Korumburra Road to Warragul, some magic country side and views in this area to enjoy on what was a nice sunny day.

Thanks de ja vu for the cache.

It was great to be back out hunting caches in the sun with my caching buddy Rebel Acts.
I'm happy he knows this area because I was absolutely lost.
The most important tool we had this weekend was the large bottle of hand sanitiser which was used before and after every find.
Had such a great time catching up with Rebel and getting back into the swing of caching.
Can't wait to come back and explore the area again.
Cheers for the cache.

Pulled up here and there was a muggle working at the nearby church. It took us a little while to find the cache but we were a little distracted with the cutest of llamas and horses and ponies that were putting on a show for us. Thanks for the cache.

Out for caching day around Poowong and surrounds with a friend. A lot on interesting stuff here - beautiful houses, farms and awesome views. Saw cattle, sheep, llamas, fox, and more. Also saw a dead snake. I received interesting information about ragwort, stone fruit and fox. I had a great time finding your cache de ja vu, thank you so much for placing it.

While my wife ran the Hallora marathon, 999HK and myself thought we would collect a number of caches in the area. We knew it would take her some time to run the 42 km from Hallora to Drouin, to Warragul, then back to Drouin and back to Warrigul where we would cheer her over the finish line. Got to be happy with 22 Smileys and 0 DNFs.

Very small little town. The avenue of honor could do with some TLC. But then it does match the tennis courts the way it is.

Thanks for the cache de ja vu

Finally catching up on logs, I'm not enjoying the Geochaning app I was previously using, could have sworn I logged this one, I'm finding Cachley much more reliable. Anyway I found this one when I was running early for work, I usually sit in my car and eat junk food while I wait for work to start, thats not doing anything for my waistline so I decided finding a few caches up the road a little would be a good way to stop the munchies, didn't work, just meant I ate while I drove to this cache! I should have taken more advantage of being in the area as there are still a few to find and I quit my job down the road, oh well, I'll have to find an excuse to come for a drive again!
TFTC de ja vu, much appreciated. Noted a black snake near GZ

Today was a full day of work meetings in Korumburra. After that was all done I took advantage of the long summer evening to find a few caches around the place and on my way back to my hotel in Warragul. I think this took a wee while to locate. All good in the end though. TFTC, Biggles.

On a 6 day tour of Victoria with Barnzy12. Taking the red eye over from Perth we managed to visit some great places. The main reason for the travel was the Mega event in Alexandra and the opportunity to find 12 cache types in a day.

We originally travelled to Phillip bay, then up through the country side to Alexandra. Spent a few nights staying high in the snowfields and then moved over to Mt Disappointment. We then ended up back where we started returning the hire car at the airport to fly home.

Some quality caches were found all over the state, great to get a real range of cache sizes with some very large caches compared to what’s available in WA and the range of D/T options so close to each other was a bonus.

Thanks to all the Cache owners for you placements and creativity put into hiding and have awarded a few fav points based on this or the location it bought us too.

17-Nov-17
In Melbourne with Cravo10 to attend the Mega in Alexandra.

We took the red eye from Perth, leaving at 1am Thursday morning, and departed Melbourne early Tuesday morning, so it was a short five day trip.

We managed to snag a couple of nice stats for the trip. First mega event, 12 cache types in a day, 10 lab caches, 50th large cache find, and most importantly my 10,000th find at Mount Disappointment.

We spent the first day on a caching run from
Melbourne to Phillip Island where we had booked into the local caravan park for the evening. We cached all day chasing down a number of the whereigo and puzzle caches from the CF series, before ending the day caching the extremities of Phillip Island, where we had both never been, an amazing part of this country.

Next morning we cached our way to Alexandra which was the main reason for our trip to Melbourne as we had both never managed to attend a mega, which were hoping to rectify in WA next year! Attended the pre event and managed to get a couple of group FTFs by torchlight which was a real highlight.

Saturday we cached in and around Alexandra all day, chasing numbers, the highlight of the day would have to be the birdbox hides around Alexandra and the multi in Bonnie Doon from that famous TV show, a real nice touch!

Sunday was an epic caching day, chasing down 12 types in a day, which required a couple of huge drives to claim some of the rarer icons around. A huge caching stat which is a very rare feat in the Southern Hemisphere. We finished the day travelling to Mount disappointment where we found Melbourne's 1st cache and then started making a dent in the powertrail, finishing by torchlight.

Our last full days caching was spent at Mount Disappointment to chase some big numbers and with a few caches around the burbs for good measure.

Special thanks to all the wonderful COs around Melbourne for their brilliant caches, and to the mega committee for organising a ripper event, hope to be back next year!

Our current visit to Australia had been in the planning for over a year with the very significant help and advice from friends who live in Melbourne. The original plan was for a 2 month visit, but as things progressed we just couldn't help extending our trip to the full 90 days allowed on our visas - after all it's a big country and so much to see and do, especially with our favourite pastimes being birding, hiking and of course geocaching! Our journey started with our arrival at Perth airport followed by a day cycling around Rottnest Island before travelling on to Adelaide where we met up with our friends. We then continued on to spend some time on Kangaroo Island, before heading to Melbourne via Goolwa, Strathalbyn, Coorong, Mount Gambier, Cape Bridgewater, the Grampians National Park, Port Campbell, Cape Otway and Lorne, cramming in as much as possible on route. The second leg of our journey was a fabulous 9 days in Tasmania. Having then returned to Melbourne we set off on the third leg of our journey, which is to Sydney via Wilson’s Promontory (where we are heading to at present), Lakes Entrance, Mallacoota, Pambula Beach, Thredbo, Canberra and Fitzroy Falls. After a visit to Sydney we will travel on to the Gold Coast, then after spending a few days in the nearby mountainous birding hotspots, followed by an overnight trip to Fraser Island, we will fly from Brisbane to Cairns, visiting yet more good birding sites. We will then drive up to Cape Tribulation before heading back south again to Port Douglas and a day out on the Great Barrier Reef. We then return to Cairns for the flight to Alice Springs, where we will hire a 4x4 camper and set off for a week on the circuit to and from Kings Canyon and Ayers Rock. We then fly to Darwin from where we will spend the last two weeks of our holiday making our way to Broome via Kakadu, Cooinda, Katherine Gorge, Kununarra, Lake Argyle, Emma Gorge, the Bungle Bungle’s and Fitzroy Crossing. Our last two nights in Australia will be spent in Broome before we fly back to Perth, from where we will connect with the flight all the way back home to Zimbabwe via South Africa. We already know we can't wait to return!

We found this nicely hidden cache after a brief search. The views along the road today are particularly stunning in the warm bright sunshine. Thanks so much for the cache.

Out with Yorsys on our usual Wednesday caching day. This time we thought we would finish the S2SRS series as well as pick up any other caches that we might come across. There were some tricky caches in this second series, some we missed on which we will pick up next time.
This one did take us a while given that our GPS's could not agree on the right location to search. Must have been the cold weather today.

Riding my motorbike through Gippsland and decided to stop and admire the view. Checked the phone for any nearby hide and this was 6 meters away. Cache Guardian came out fighting as I made the grab, retreated back a little as it was BIG. Found a tool to aid in the cache retrieval and put on my bike gloves just in case. Logged my find, admired the view and took photo's of the guardian, back to the motorbike for the ride to my next stop.
