###Trip to the *Red Centre Experience* 2017###

Unfortunately, half of our team is home-based due to work commitment, the other half is lucky enough to be Alice Springs bound, in the company of Team Indiana08. Therefore, for a couple of weeks, our team will be attending some events and possibly finding the odd cache in different states.

---

We were already on our way back towards the campsite when we came across this cache. We walked a bit around before we found a good access point to it. After the recent rains, the flats are quite muddy and slippery. The last few meters were a somewhat inundated and we hopped from hump to hump in the ground to the palm. The cache was quickly found and signed before we retreated to higher grounds (with all the mud accumulating on our boots).

Thanks for showing us the local Palm Beach!

#6466 - 10:55; Day 7 of the Alice Mega Road Trip with Sol de lune and albida33, so most logs were signed S.A.L. as a result. After a night in Port Augusta, today's plan was to cache in and around Port Augusta and Stirling North before heading south towards Whyalla for a couple of nights and produced 88 finds along with only 4 DNFs. After a circuit around the back blocks of Stirling North we were now back in town collecting a few more. This was a pleasant stroll from our previous find, but beware, the mud can be deceptively slippery and I nearly went base over apex before heading in closer to shore for the walk to GZ. Once we reached the rather obvious GZ a short hunt turned up the cache. TFTC Dinko1974 Smile

On the road to the Alice Springs Mega with LuckyL10n and Albida33. We headed through Burra and Port Pirie before arriving in Port Augusta for the trek up the highway. Collected a good number of caches and all were found with no issues and the logs were soon signed. (Some logs were signed as S.A.L. to save space.)

Thanks for the cache and fun in getting to it and finding it.

Suffering more pricks than a Pin Cushion, I gingerly searched around for the booty near the obvious tree. It was eventually found with some aggressive and now, aggravated Bull Ants. I found a 'safe' spot to SL. The log within is still wet so I left my workplace card with 'Found It' details on it Wink. TN, glad to be outa there even though it is a very nice area [^]. I could easily handle a holiday shack up there on the small hill with a view of the Gulf and Middleback Ranges Wink TFTC Dinko1974 Smile

Ouch ouch ouch, then another approach was found with just a deep crevice to get over. Cache was literally full of water and so was the log bag. We had no replacement so made a mark on the log. Maitenance definately needed. Unusual to see such a item as this here. TFTC

Palm Beach ,now that sounds like a lovely spot for a cache ,or is it?
Found with Earthlight and 3LG
The skies overhead were getting darker and more like rain any minute when we headed down the beach to locate the cache
By the time we had located the cache my mood was getting as dark as the sky
Lost count by the number of times I got spiked looking for the cache
Found it signed the log and happily walked away

Our one DNF for the day. No probs locating the palm. Unmissable. Got to GZ & located a few other non-cachey but foreign objects like a broken nerf gun & an old plastic cup. In fact that's pretty much the only plastic we did unearth. Caches zero. D1.5's are sometimes just too damn hard for us. Ho hum.

Catching up with some late logs, therefore this unfortunately is going to be one of 'those logs'. I apologize in advance for the generic log, A combination of limited time and too many to log dictates that a generic log is best. I have enjoyed the hunt and being outdoors in this great country of ours, partaking in a pastime that I thoroughly enjoy. I usually head out by myself, but I thank those that have had the misfortune of my company in some of these ventures.

Thanks Dinko1974 for placing this cache.

Find #7319**

Day two of the Nullarbor experience was here. I again joined the convoy of Alansee, Maccamob and Mica Paramedic for another day of fun, heading for Port Augusta, then I would do my own thing for a few days before joining them again in Esperance. Today, we would drive from Murray Bridge, to Port Augusta via Gawler, just over 380km of driving. We would log our finds as MAAM, AMMA, AMAM or some other combination of those 4 letters.

This one took some time to locate and was not too much fun amongst the spiky plants.

**Thanks to Dinko1974 for the cache. TNLN**

Found by Mary & David, in convoy with micaparamedic, Alansee and ahomburg (logged as MAAM), at 1825. Sounds very Florida USA. Again the boys had their torches, but Mary wants to return tomorrow to see the views. Beware the sharp spiky plants near GZ. Our thanks to Dinko1974.

Hi there Dinko1974.

We found your cache **"Palm Beach"** at 10:45:00 AM today. This cache makes our find count 13936.

We thoroughly enjoyed our trip around the local area today. We usually start the day off by nominating a cache some distance away from our camp site and then take a route mainly determined by the next closest cache according to our GPS. Today's plan was to dash into Port Augusta to test drive a vehicle, and then log a few caches before heading back to camp.

We ended up finding 10 & DNFing 2 caches today. Wink

**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found your cache around two metres from where the GPS said we should be looking. Wink
**Cache Condition:** The container and log book are in good shape.
**Took:** Nothing.
**Left:** Smiley Badge.

Thanks for the hunt today,

Regards

Ian & Penny.

A sunny day in the Gutta Smile
Isn't it always ??
Sunny but damn cold !!
Isn't it always ??
Except in summer when it is windy and damn hot Razz
In the Gutta Big Grin

I started this caching trip in the 'Crossroads of Austwalia', here.
A short stroll down by the fore shore where soft sand is a real danger [:o]
I didn't find any really soft sand on me short stroll to Palm Beach.

Finding the palm on the beach was rather easy !!
Who needs a GPS [:o]
And close by was the cache Smile

The poor olde palm has led a tough life.
Tough location to grow in for starters !
Didn't help that the local gangs of kids hellbent on destroying anything that doesn't matter to them, set fire to it a while back Sad
The palm still lives !!
In defiance of those who are probably serving time in juvenile detention !!

Headed off to this one with the co-ords in our head [as we usually do].
Made the fatal mistake of stopping to read the information board about feral animals. Should have done this on the way back as we both forgot the co-ords!!!
After debating whether to walk back to the van or not we decided to check out the object first and a quick find was made.
Thanks.

Arrived in Port Augusta, dropped off the caravan, and headed out to cache the area.

Arrived at GZ, and the cache was quickly spotted.
