Another cache found with richlink on our 2022 South Australian Adventur. We set off in sunshine today, a perfect day for Geocaching. TFTC
A coolish morning but the ️ is out and the sky is blue. Out with iluvtrekking caching towards Stanbury and Edithburgh. Thanks for the hide
Took a bit of a search on a cool morning but we got there in the end - sneaky hide... TFTC
A short stop here today, managed to find the cache nicely hidden and all is well
With 2.5 days free and nothing to do, what better than to head to the yorke peninsula for a few days. I made a plan of trying to clean up majority of the caches on the peninsula going from cache to cache. Managed to come away with only a few left and 247 finds for the few day trip.
Thanks for the cache

The three of us were spending some time on Yorke Peninsula, and today Mr Tardis went out for a caching run in the southern half. I did a section of the Gone Fishing trail, and found lots of old and new caches on the way there and back.
I found this cache after a short search. It was out in the open about 10 meters down the road. Not sure what happened, but I put it back where the GZ co-ordinates were.
Signed the log. Thanks for the cache earthlight.

Pouring rain when I stopped the car but it's a long time between drinks so toughened up and got out of the car and got absolutely soaked retrieving the cache. What fun. At least the logbook was dry and I managed to shelter it whilst signing my name, putting it back and retreating back to the warmth of the vehicle.
Day 294 (Thursday 18th) of our trip. Caching along the way. In Maitland today. A total of 15 for the day and 5707 for the trip. TFTC
I LOST MY NEW CACHING STAMP HERE.

After our big day yesterday we had a leisurely start today not getting up quite so early! Packed up, got all the caching stuff ready and checked out of the cabin then headed out to find another 40 of the Gone Fishn' series before heading down to Yorketown for a few puzzles we had solved, a few multis an Earthcache and some targeted trads along the way. [^]
Today wasn't so much about the numbers and we had a good day finding lots of caches in great spots...much more enjoyable than the power trails and Michells&hound found her 10,000th cache which had been her goal for the weekend. I hadn't any more goals for the weekend after finding my biggest one day number, so it was a relaxed afternoon.
After a relatively incident free couple of days today we had a few...maybe tiredness!! I came out reasonably well except for a big angry spider that didn't like me disturbing his home and gave me a little nip, nothing bad though. I also nearly stepped on a blue tongue lizard that was sunning himself right where I was walking.
We found all the caches we looked for but had to PAF a couple of times for one that had been moved with no updated coordinates and a micro on a gun!! We were very pleased when we found both of these. We ended the day with 66 finds which gave us a good number for the weekend and we were very pleased with ourselves.
The weather again was kind to us, quite a cold wind blowing for most of the day, but the rain held off until we were driving home. [^]
Another lovely old ruin, but sadly this is where M&h dropped her stamp and didn't realise until we were close to Ardrossan. GZ was a bit tricky to get to with lots of undergrowth to manoeuvre through, but M&h fought her way through.
Thanks for the cache earthlight and the X-trailers.

So last day of the weekend on the YP and around 60 caches found. I hit my 10,000 somewhere along the way will need to mark the milestone by finding the SFE 10000 cache sometime soon.
It was a much more leisurely day today as we didn't plan on breaking any records (other than JJ52 getting more towards her biggest weekend and month records) and also getting off the power trail in the afternoon to enjoy some proper country caching, discovering a bit of history and getting some multis done.
It was a bit chillier today than yesterday but we were still lucky with the weather and other than a couple of showers we enjoyed blue skies and some sunshine. Perfect weather for caching.
We did see a lot more wildlife today, sheep, cows, horses and a sleepy lizard. Thankfully it was too cold for snakes to show themselves.
I was blown away by the pink lakes around Yorketown, the contrast of colours on the landscape with canola, blue skies, cloud and the rich pink of the lake was a sight to behold.
After checking out of the cabin and getting more petrol we collected another 40 trads on the Gone Fishn series and then off towards Yorketown for the 'proper' caching.
We did replace a few caches today but on the whole the caches we found were in excellent condition. Only one trackable found today which was exchanged for another.
Another enjoyable picnic at the Yorketown shelter and then headed back up the YP to Ardrossan where we found a few caches before heading back to Adelaide.
We hit some horrendous rain on the highway on the way home so it was good to have missed that whilst we ere caching.
JJ52 had a bit of a tussle with a spider that was not happy about the intrusion into their tree and gave Jude a bit of a nip. I tripped over some barbed wire but thankfully no damage done and also gave myself a ripper bruise on one of my fingers. I also nearly poked my eye out with my glasses (still sore today, reckon I bruised my eyeball!). I also left my stamp behind at a cache, and by the time I realised we were 70km away, gutted have only had it for a month or so!!! Hopefully another cacher might rescue it. Might need to order another in the meantime.
Once again my thanks to Fishy Tales for their epic series that we are so lucky to have on our doorstep, must have been a mammoth task setting it all up. Plus thanks to all the other cachers who caches we enjoyed on the peninsula today.
Thinking I may now be on course to break my own record for most caches found in a month, but need to keep going this week to achieve that.
This one took a bit of maneuvering to get into where the cache was hidden, more nature growing I think. This is where I must have dropped my stamp, hopefully a fellow cacher will locate it. TFTC earthlight and the X-Trailers

Thanks for the cache, I love ruins, can’t understand why they don’t reuse all the beautiful rocks. Log & cache in good condition
Touring the area on our return visit after 5 years. Enjoying the touch of history series. This one did require some serious realignment of the natural camo in order to access. But we got it! Tftc
We have a small team travelling to The Yorke Peninsula from Canberra. It was decided by the group before we left that our team name would be DTY, although I act like the boss, I rarely am and so the initials actually stand for - dty73, Tankengine & Youban.
Admittedly we came for the power trails to make up some of our statistics, but we also wanted to check out some of the traditionals as well. This was obviously one of those we wanted to pick up.
I can’t get over just many old ruins there are around SA. But I do like old things and history, so I’m glad you have highlighted some of these. After finding the cache, we explored the house across the road and wondered what stories it held. Tftc earthlight & The X-Trailers!!!

Our last day in Edithburgh, but we have been waiting for the promised sunny day of light wind so we can head north along the coast. Some great scenery and caching is hopefully in store.
Sorry-the logs are starting to get a bit repetitious but we are having a great time, walking in the sun and the breeze, collecting caches as we go, enjoying the scenery and appreciating the caches. It’s nice that the hides are not too onerous, but just subtle enuf to make us work for a few of them. Others we have found pretty quickly. Life’s always more interesting if things don’t come too easy!
Yet another old building. They are dotted everywhere! We can only marvel at just how big farming has become.

Found as part of My Annual leave SA adventure, I had a great time touring the Yorke Peninsula and other areas of the state. This was My last day on the Gone Fisin trail, I sure was glad to get it finished and go look around a few towns, I was a bit over looking at wheat and canola. Thanks earthlight (F=12163 H=115) for the cache.

Heading south for a couple of nights in Yorketown so fitting in a few finds along the way. Another good find here which added to the fun, and interesting stops made along the way. The weather was quite cool today with the occasional shower but nothing like it obviously had been recently. All good here, a quick find.
Many thanks for the hide.

We saw many delightful traditional SA house ruins during a day of caching in the rain, in the good company of fellow Geelong cachers Suscoe. After three days of geo-art, conventional caches were a pleasant change. Spot on co'ords meant we were in touch with the past very quickly!

Suscoe and Phetlern headed out today for an adventure across the foot of the Yorke.
It was quite a wet day really with steady rain for much of the day.
We found lots of caches as we wandered the back roads of this area.
The countryside was green and the crops were looking good.
Thanks to earthlight for this cache,

First we must appologise for the generic logs.
We were travellng with a muggle friend who took heaps of photo;s o these buildings. As she loves history I can picture her checking out the history of this area.
We came to Yorke Peninsular with Speedmistress who hails from Queensland to cache our little hearts out and this we are doing.
We solved loads of puzzles prior to coming and with all the earth, multi, trads and puzzles there are here we were never lacking in variety.
When we found caches that needed repair we have done our best to do what was possible, unfortunately we have now rum out of spare containers, so no more repairs can be done. We have enjoyed the scenery, the walks, the animal life and the challenges that was encountered while traveling the Peninsular. Not all the caches have been attempted due to time restraints but those have been earmarked for future visits.
We also would like to thank Speedmistress for supplying our geocaching chariot.
A huge thanks to all the cache owners for placing these caches for us to enjoy.

On this occassion, I am doing a generic log. I have travelled from Queensland to meet up with Muff1 for a Geocaching extravaganza on the beautiful Yorke Peninsular. Our goal to Cache, Cache and Cache. Each day our "finds" have been growing in number, some days more productive then others. We have also been careful to take time to appreciate the natural wonder of the areas we have visited. The variety of caches was interesting, some very clever, some the quick grab they were designed to be. A big thank you to all of the dedicated Cache placers who have made this possible.
Hi there earthlight.
We found your cache **"Touch of the Past 2"** at 9:50:00 AM today.
This was our 2nd find for the day and this makes our find count 13682.
Our cache run today started at a random cache on the map. We then navigated to the one the GPS said was next closest etc, & ended up finding 20 & DNFing 1 today.
**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found the cache around 12m from where the GPS said we should be looking.
**Cache Condition:** Container and log book are in good shape.
**Took:** Nothing.
**Left:** A smiley badge if the cache was big enough.
Thanks for the hunt today,
Regards
Ian & Penny.

Left Yorketown, and travelled to Minlaton via Port Vincent, picking up caches with Konie.
We travelled some great country roads, and the scenery was stunning.
Even though it was quite hot, we managed to do a few trail and other caches in the area.
Many thanks for placing this cache, earthlight, for us and others to find.

Catching up on a few late logs (something not that unusual for me). As always, I enjoyed the journey to find the cache, mostly I have been in the company of Team Crackers, maccamob, alansee and the Coffee's, but occasionally I have gone out solo to soak in the solitude of being out in the fresh air.

Having just found In Memory of the Algie Family we know the history of the machinery and again we also wonder why the residents moved on.
SA has an abundance of old ruins each would have a separate tale to tell.

Found by Mary & David at 1445. How proud that young pioneer wife would have been to move here family into this residence. Probably would have survived in just a lean-to before that. We forget how hard life would have been back then. Our thanks to earthlight.
Found with our Nan[earthlight] who was doing a maintenance run.
