Time to go

Perhaps a not too surprising DNF as none of the likely spots really look the same as the photos. Evidence of recent cutting/clearing meant that not even the photo from last October helped much. Might try again another time - though will probably wait for either really new photography of surrounds or some kind of method for checking clues. Too much of Centennial Park looks alike, without cross-checks it really is the proverbial needle/haystack situation

08-Nov-16
I got as far as the last clue but couldn't get the cache in the end. I might have searched longer but there was a bloke kicking a footy around in the field and I didn't want him getting suspicious. Maybe next time

Our first find! Difficult one, isn't in the best shape. Everything is wet inside

16-Oct-16
Good hide, photo added to show current growth

27-Aug-16
Had a hunt with Team JZ, but came up empty handed. We followed the photos to a spot that looked like the likely area. Photo 2 seemed to match, the visual clue fit, and the ground seemed trampled by geofeet, but we felt it was like looking for a needle in a haystack! We also realised later that we might need to flip the photos. The references to a maths problem had us stumped too. Is the maths problem what we were actually looking for, which would then lead us on to the GC? That's a rhetorical question of course, and we'll have another hunt some other day!

And France beat me again to this one. The contents are kinda gross it might need a replacement.

#708 came to Centennial Park to find this puzzle cache & maybe another one but only got this one twice. Got to GZ and looked around till I spotted a likely spot in relation to the first photo, so headed over there. There were 2 games of soccer on the fields nearby as I got near where photo 2 came from & then I spotted where photo 3 was from & got to the hide. Opened the cache & it was full of brown smelly water, so I drained it out as best as I could and took a couple of photos of the contents, (maybe I should have taken one before I emptied it out) & log.

That now leads me to my second time on my way back to my car decided I was going to get some paper out of the car and put it in a heavy duty ziplock bag and put that in the cache so there should be something dry to sign for the next finder. I got back to the cache and waited for a couple of soccer players to walk passed before I reentered and put back in the cache. Signed this log myself. Then I thought I should of double bagged it but I wasn't coming back a third time. Maybe after I solved a few more puzzles.

Thanks for the cache murphley. I don't think the container is as waterproof as it should be the clips don't catch properly

Thank you for this cache, enjoyed finding this (:

This was a bit of a race against time as there was a big sign saying cars must be out before sunset which was fast approaching. I parked and ran in the general direction. Found something that fitted the hint, had a scratch around but it didn't look like the second photo no matter which way you looked at it. I rang a friend who had vague memories of having to go further than he first might have thought, that was enough so off I head until eventually the plant life looked correct. Unfortunately the cache itself is an "aquarium". Might be in need of elevation, the log is unsignable at the moment.

This was an interesting journey and highlighted that the spacial awareness of our team as a whole is terrible. Used the pictures as we had no chance at the maths. Found the first picture location pretty easily, the rode our bikes around to the back only to wonder where all the grass was. Realised we had to go back further and finally found GZ. After a bit of a shuffle through the grass we made the find. Those grassy plants have tiny hair like spikes on them, so spent a while picking them out. Didn't really understand what the second part of the puzzle was that people seem to refer to in past logs. Saw something strange on the back of a very wet, blurry sheet, so took a photo. Will investigate further later.

23-May-15
I visited today with the geofamily and found pooled water in the cache container, which had entered the logbook bag through a tear. The logbook is OK, but the clue sheet is mouldy and getting harder to read. We cleaned up the container gasket and seal surfaces, but we didn't have a spare ziploc bag.

Evince added for those attempting to solve this using Trigonometry, however this could still be inaccurate even if done correctly as some points need to be projected and decimals rounded up. If you think you've solved this correctly but are not getting an ok from Evince let me know and I'll tell you if you're close.

I was here with some unexpected time. I remember reading this one before, and knew that it was a field puzzle. Identified the first picture easy enough and was off. However, I was hampered by only having an iphone for the next step, until I worked out how to zoom in. And then it was a case of 'well, maybe it is there - no, hmmm what about that bit?, I wonder where I cold spot something like that?'. And then unexpectedly I found the magic spot. Nice, unusual cache!

I read the cache description many weeks ago and forgot that it had two stages. Although I twigged to the possible mathematical solution, I struggled to discern the input data, and decided that I liked the idea of a picture cache better anyway This evening, and using only the doctored images, I found the first part, logged the cache, and ignored the clues to the next part - I didn't even bother to photograph them! It's a good thing the cache is only a few hundred metres from one of my commuting routes. I won't log the cache online until I've completed the find. Thanks, so far!

After solving centennial park riddle this morning and went to gz. Forget it, to many muggles so decided to do this one instead on my lunchtime walk.

Luckily for me they just turned of the sprinklers, so I didn't have to dodge them but wet feet.

Didn't take to long to narrow into gz and CIH. TFTC Smile

Please note that there is a second part to this cache inside the container. While not essential for claiming a smiley, it is still a part of this cache.

I had to come into the City today to conduct some business so, last night, I checked for interesting unfound caches in the area to attempt when I was free. Although not in the City as such, this one greatly intrigued me so I set about trying to grasp what I was supposed to do.

After much puzzlement everything came together and this beautiful morning I took a bus from Liverpool Street to Anzac Parade and, not being much of a mathematician, used the visual clues to get to GZ where, after a bit of scrabbling about, I uncovered the well-hidden physical cache and signed the log.

It’s an ingenious setup. I note that some of the finders have attempted backwards text in their logs but, of course, have not managed what was achieved in the cache description. The important material in the cache is cleverly done and also very entertaining.

Brilliant stuff, this definitely gets a favourite point from me. Thanks murphley.

Great job. Not going I write backwards it has been done. New the area well straight off the bat and using my head and feet. My alma mater playing sports in the general vacinity of the park.
Arrived late enough that I parked outside the gates and proceeded on foot. Being confident enough after utilising a BA cache solve to check starting coords I proceeded to gz and after a 5 minute search in the dark with minimal torch use to not attract muggles soon had CIH.
A memorable cache. Tftc. Tnln sl

*squee* this is so cool - I shall log properly when I'm at a computer, but for now:

"Treasure maps/ fallen trees/ Operator please/ Call me back when it's time"

Now that I'm at a computer, guess I should start from the physical cache log...

On the day it was published raindoctor and I went to centennial park and had a go, before realising it had been disabled. A couple of wrong turns later, we found ourselves at a location which matched the pictures, and soon enough had the physical cache in hand- yes, this time i helped out with the dirty work too... however when we opened up the cache to more cryptic clues, this was not the end! Murphley sure makes you work hard for that smiley! As the cache was disabled, we collected the clues and went back to work, mulling over what it could mean... I've been mulling over this for most of the week and finally paf'd for a clue (thanks KRS!). This morning, the caching planets aligned/something just clicked followed by a derrr moment and calling raindoctor to share the news... hehe a little too much excitement for a saturday morning.
Thanks for such a thoughtful cache murphley, i would give you another favourite point if i could! Very cool. Smile

Oh my goodness. The shneakiest of shneaky caches. And once again it was all misspalot. She figured it out. All of it. My only my contribution - driving to 'GZ'. Thanks to those cachers who showed lots of patience with us and helped us make the find.

capt'n flint and Rheneas will be sharing FTF. Congratulations to both for putting in the hard work. Props to raindoctor and misspalot who found the first part within an hour of it being published (how did you get there so fast?!) but did not attempt the second part when it was disabled.

As it has just been published I welcome any feedback on things that could be improved, problems you encountered or anything else. Feel free to contact me

When I saw this cache published (and then temporarily disabled soon after) I had a feeling this might be no ordinary puzzle cache. Little did I know at the time how right I would be...

While the cache was temporarily disabled, I had an opportunity to examine the photos and description quite thoroughly, and while it was fairly trivial to decipher the encoded description text and correct the image orientation (I needed to use a full web browser to display the text as my phone didn't seem to handle some of the characters properly), it provided precious little insight as to how to proceed.

At that point I contacted the CO to check if there was actually a solvable puzzle that would yield coordinates to the cache or whether I needed to rely solely on the visual cues contained within the photos. The response came back that there was indeed a puzzle, and that the location could be found either the hard way or the easy way (depending on your point of view!) and in addition there was a cryptic reference to "sine" being against the "law" added to the cache hint.

It had been a long while since I'd used this type of maths, but I always love a good challenge so decided to try the hard way first and did some essential research. While I already had located two pieces of required information, the third eluded me until the CO pointed me in the right direction. Now with three vital input values but not certain that I was definitely on the right track, I started calculating. Taking a few wrong turns at first, after a while I ended up with coordinates that seemed plausible, which I emailed to the CO for verification. I had prepared for the hunt earlier by printing out full colour images from the listing page to assist with the search, however in my excitement I rushed out at lunchtime and left them all on my desk!

I was nearing my calculated GZ when I received word from the CO that my coordinates were slightly out due to minor differences in input values. Funnily enough, the was a lone gardener working at my calculated coords pulling weeds and generally wreaking havoc of the surrounding vegetation. Had the physical cache been there, it would probably have been discovered and removed!

Not to be deterred, I loaded the photos from the cache listing on my phone, downloaded an app to correct the images, and used the visual cues to help me find the cache. About 30m away from my calculated coords (and well out of sight from the muggle gardener), I saw something that I recognized from the photos, and incredibly a small geo-trail had already been formed. I uncovered the physical cache to see that I already fourth to sign (behind raindoctor, misspalot the previous day and beaten by capt'n flint by a mere hour!).

Having found the physical cache which contained a log book and a second puzzle, I took photos of the further instructions and reviewed them on my way back to my desk. Providentially, I managed to unlock the secret of the final puzzle without actually solving it so was asked by the CO to wait until someone actually did solve the puzzle to share the FTF with. Luckily I didn't have to wait too long for capt'n flint to figure it out!

Joint {*FTF*} with capt'n flint (not sure if I'm able to put a time on it although the physical cache was located @ 1:50pm). Between the mathematical mental work-out, the lovely stroll through Centennial Park on a sunny warm winter afternoon to find and sign the physical log, and the second-stage twist at the end, this cache provided a thoroughly enjoyable caching adventure! Clearly a lot of work has gone into construction of this cache, TFTC murphley! Hope to see many more from you in the future... Smile

Misspalot and I, not realising the cache has been disabled, had a go at it yesterday - however we couldn't come up with the goods. I think I'll be asking the CO for a hint once a few finds are recorded . . .
