Disabling this cache due to new Geocaching rules. Will seek an alternative hiding place at GZ.
Visiting Palmerston North for the day and managed to find a little time to pop out and pick up a cache nearby. We have found several similarly clever hides like this over the years but this one still gave me trouble at first (partially due to my dislike of the surrounds/environment where the cache is hidden).

Anyways, hide found after about 10 minutes of scratching my head, log signed and cache put back in place. All good. Daily cache sorted. 1571 consecutive days with finds from 22.12.2014 to 10.04.2019 TFTC

we used the navigator but still did not find it good job on hiding it it was challenging we will try again another day
One of our friends did his pilot's training near here so it was nice to see where it spent so much of his time. No problems with the cache, thanks
Day #4 of our four day caching trip to Palmerston North and we fly back to Christchurch this afternoon. The focus today was solved puzzles in and around the city, but with the rain forecast, we weren't keen on any long walks.
On the way to the airport, but time for another park and grab. It didn't take long to spot the hide, nice one, TFTC.

Great hide it took forever for me to find it but in the end I did .Thankyou for the cache
I was due to fly out of Palmy airport to Auckland this evening, on one of my regular trips, and on these occasions I like to take a different route to the airport to try and grab a cache or two along the way. In addition, I had started the day sitting on 46 caches for May and I really wanted to get to 50 for the month in order to carry on my streak of finding at least 50 caches a month.
So having managed to find the requisite four caches, I had stopped to catch up with friends over dinner before my flight, and he mentioned that today was a dot day for him and he'd like to grab a quick cache whilst dropping me off at the airport. Looking at the map, we spotted a likely candidate so off we went in search of it. After that, we were talking on the way to the terminal and I mentioned than I had failed to find this particular cache on a previous search. We still had a few minutes to play with, so thought "why not?"
Night had well and truly fallen when we arrived, and searching around GZ required a torch. A small nudge from my mate who has been caching a lot longer than I have, and I found it. Everything here is in fine condition, so it was a quick sign of the log, before replacing everything exactly as found. However, just as we were leaving our torchlight must have disturbed the next door neighbour as she came out to investigate what we were up to. Some quick thinking from Etherlord saved the moment, and we were off to the terminal to catch my flight. I usually cache with my boy, so when I'm next passing up this way I'll get him to find this one too.
Thanks for placing the cache.

I was in the right spot. GPS said so
I did not feel comfortable searching the power box/ cabinet. Seach the gate/water grill. No luck.
Well done with your hide

After our success with Watergate 4 and 5 we thought we would knock this one off easily but no joy today. This is the second time this cache has defeated us - grrrr! A hint could help please.
Thanks Z1mbos...great cache and thats one evil hide well done...sorry the logs full no room left at all thanks for the great cache
We've been here before and hunted for thus but the co informed us it had gone. Back in the area today for another look. Very sneaky hide. Log is full though. Had to squeeze in names. Thanks for the placement z1mbos
Had a good look round but couldn't find it today. Which doesn't mean it's not there of course. Hasn't been logged in over 6 months though.
Quick find early this evening with eltee291! Have seen this type before, otherwise it would have taken a lot longer. Signed the log and replaced as found. Visiting from Victoria, BC, Canada! Thanks for the cache!
Quickly found today with hingis20. We are on vacation from Victoria, BC, Canada and today we are traveling to Wellington with an overnight stay in Palmerston North. Geocaching and beautiful scenery - can't get any better. TFTC
This cache was attempted on Day 1 of the Palmerston North leg of our "Road to 6000" Extravaganza.
A quick find - seen this type of hide before.

Hmm I thought I touched everything possible to find this but then Sidewaze found it in a place I'd already looked but not well enough. Good hide. TFTC #9564
Getting a good look around Palmerston North before heading for home after a great long weekend caching. TFTH .
I was in town for work and decided to go for a walk and grab some geocaches while I was here. There were some workman nearby so I had to be stealthy. Having found some caches like this one before I soon spotted this cleaver hide. Thanks for bringing me here.
Pleased to have a quick find as not really a place to loiter. Helps having found a similar one. Hidden in plain sight. Tftc
Parked up here as the start if the water gate series. Not much to go on as far as what to look for, decided to continue around in the hope that some of the others might give us an idea.
Returned to the car with a poor find rate for this series, had another poke around but no luck. Maybe the civil works in the area have dislocated it?

I have started to see more and more caches with this camo popping up around the place. Always a clever find. TFTC
My last Palmerston North cache before heading to the airport to catch my flight back to Auckland. Have seen this particular hide type before so it didn't fool me for too long. very nicely done. Thank you to all the clever CO's in the area who provided a very enjoyable afternoon caching. TFTC!
A nice camo cache hiding in plain sight. Blends in well. Log book a little damp. TFTC
Vistra and I had headed down to to Manwatu for the weekend, we both wanted a high number weekend and I was looking forward to meeting some of the locals as well.
Thank you to all the CO's for their placements some nicely placed, clever and tricky hides, so a great variety. Our last for the weekend, this was near the airport so we wouldnt miss our flight. TFTC

I traveled down to Palmerston North for a 3 day geocaching weekend to give my numbers a bit of a boost, as I head towards my next caching milestone. I decided to fly there and back and pick up a cheap rental car for the weekend. The weather was perfect and I had a great weekend down there.
I joined up with yorkshirekiwi83 again today for another day of caching, before our flight out this evening. After a day of caching around the city, Bunnythorpe, Ashhurst and the gorge, we returned back to the city to pick up a few more caches in the evening before our flight. The last cache for our trip as we neared the airport! No problems finding this one in the dark. TFTC!

Happy to report that the Cache is still in place after the work that has been done. Happy hunting
Hadpeople doing routine maintainence here for a while - they are gone now. May have taken the cache with them...?
Routine electrical maintainence happening here, and they may have disturbed something...
Stopped here as was passing. Coords were spot on and took me right to GZ where I saw what I thought was the cache - waiting for passing traffic then in to grab the cache and was happy to find that I did in fact have the cache in hand. Clever hide - I have a couple of those I must get out there!
Did the paperwork then waited for some muggles to move on then returned the cache to its spot - Thanks for the placement Z1mbos.

Searched for quite a while and could not find noted it has not been found for a month or so and caches had trouble with the container catchers....wondering if it's still there..?? ....be nice to know☹☹
Yessss! Another clever disguise! Sealed container as best as I could, following suggestion by Etherlord, though it was hard to tell if one way fitted more securely than the other. Ill be glad to read when the next person finds it saFe and well. Thanks
Nice cammo! Truly cool hide, muggle central though, took a wee while to get it. TFTC
Nice quick park n grab in between traffic. First type of cache I've seen so gets a FP! TFTC
Nice Park and grab.
Cache was intact, log a bit wet, so jesserfly opted to use a bit of her back up log paper.
Cheers

Stopped by today while on my way to another cache and found the it open with its lid on the ground.
I put it back together and it immediately came apart.
It seems that the lid has worn on one side such that the clips are no longer it together tightly, but if you rotate it 180deg to the other possible orientation, it does hold.
The container will probably need some maintenance (/replacement?) in the future however it is fine at the moment as long as finders make sure that the lid stays in place after they return it (and if it doesn't, just turn it round!)

Was driving past today with StephW81 and noticed that part of it was missing... Stopped to have a look and found half of it on the ground.
I think that the internal bag was not square and was stopping the container from completely clicking together.
Steph signed the log while we were here (why not? ) and we replaced it securely.

First time in Palmerton North And first my first cache up here. I'm here from Dunedin so thought I would log a few. TFTC BH
Thought this might be a 5/5 day for me, but it was not to be, just as I was approaching the gate, a mower with worker turned up to cut the grass. Hope the cache is still in place after that. I'll be back later in the year for another go.
Jr found this one...weren't even looking for it he was just exploring and doing what kids do touching everything, next thing you know he brings it over. I have returned it back to where he said he got it from and it seems to be the right place. Cool cache..lucky find.
Had attempted this one several weeks ago but the muggles in the house next door decided to arrive home at that moment and it was dark enough to require a torch for a good search. Returned this evening, having read the logs, with a good idea of what to look for and soon spotted something that warranted a closer look - sure enough it was the cleverly disguised cache. TFTC Z1mbos.
Uh-huh, it's going to be like that, is it?!? I spotted the 'SOOP' as soon as I rode up. Thanks for another nice hide, Z1mbos.
Found while collecting a few local caches after having spent a day in Palmie for work. TFTC, #Z1mbos, #7567
Lovely sunny day in Palmy and a few last caches to find this year to hit 500. I have seen one of these before so it was a quick find. TFTC
Knocking off some more Christmas shopping, so decided we'd knock off another one of this series as well.
Spotted a familiar hide as we approached, which was quite good as there was quite a lot of traffic, so a quick grab & back to the car to sign the log. The road was nice & quite for the return. TFTC Z1mbos.

I had 1.5 hours in Palmerston North in transit from Nelson to Hamilton this morning. I went for a walk from the airport to see how many caches I could find. I got to four before I had to head back to the terminal and fly on my way. This one took me way longer to find than it should have done - considering I have one of these at home waiting to be deployed TFTC, Biggles.
Looked at lots of thing around here until something moved aha cache in hand. TFTC.
Dad found this one! Neat little placement, very smart!

I was in Palmerston North this evening and finally had the chance to grab this cache on the way back home. I had attempted this one before with no luck. But, today I managed to spot the cache almost instantly. Don't you just hate when that happens? My timing was spot on as well. No traffic, no muggles out and about due to the weather and I managed to find it in between showers. So, not a bad stop. Thanks for the cache and the smiley.
Caching some Manawatu spots on a not so favourable Labour weekend Sunday.
Happy to make a quick find on this one. Clever job of disguising the hide.
Cache in order, log signed; safely re-hidden then, just as found.
TFTC found with team cacher Sweet P too
