Looked everywhere, using the hint, but no good. Thanks anyway for bringing us to a significant place in Australian history
DNF - looked everywhere.
Great spot to appreciate cultural and historical significance. And an awesome climbing park ground for the kids visible from the church

We looked everywhere and fingers every hole. I found a very rusty magnet in the green bench but no nano
Another cache hunt on our 2022 South Australian Adventure.
We search for the cache but couldn't find it. Due to the list of DNF we have replaced the cache as per the hint.
Our thanks to all the COs for taking on this Geo-guided tour. We have enjoyed ourselves, but it is time to turn West again.

A day finding caches with the JAMS Crew( Sir Spectre, mogni, JJ52 and Michells&hound). Plenty of 4x4 driving and bouncing around in the back seat. A real fun day. TFTC that bought us to this spot duncast
The JAMMS team rejoined for an adventurous day out exploring and grabbing a few high D and T caches as well as visiting a few we didn't quite get to for the JLWE. Some of the roads were a little bumpy but with three of us in the back of sir_spectre's 4WD we could only move so much, unfortunately up was still an option.
Thanks to duncast from mogni

needed pliers to undo the nano. quick find, took longer to undo and sign log.
The full quota of JAMS crew ( jj52, allister w, Mongi, Michells&hound, plus myself ) where out for a drive today. The Wellington ferry is the location we meet and then we combined in to my 4 x 4 for the rest of the morning and the start of the afternoon. We headed off to Malinong then took a 4 x 4 short cut to some more caches and followed a geocachers path to Meningie then to Narrung, where i question if the Kartoo Road is really a 4 x4 track or just high clearance for the sandy patches ,and back to the Wellington Ferry and Allisters car. Two cars then headed to get some caches that where missed on the JLWE at Langhorne Creek. Again the crew jumped in my car at times since some of those used to be a road you just need a 4 x4 or it's a walk to the cache. A fun day out was had by all, even though at times it was a bumpy ride. Always good to get those out of the way caches off the map.

Today was a hideously early start for a Sunday. But after seeing my footie team had won overnight spurred me into action.
I was at Morphett Vale by 6.30 and we were off to Wellington to meet the rest of the JAMS crew. We were a little bit early so we started off with one cache in Wellington.
Then we piled into Sir Spectres 4WD, we were crammed in like sardines and then headed over on the ferry for an action filled day of ‘out of the way’ caches that just never seem to be ticked off.
Then back to Wellington and towards Langhorne Creek for some old roads before splitting up and heading back home.
Just one more in Strath and then in Onkaparinga River Park before finally making it back home.
I was laughing so hard at one 4WD stretch that I couldn’t speak, it was a hell of a ride.
Fun day out.
Very interesting little community. Allisterw seemed to be struggling with this one so offered to assist and found in the first spot I checked. Needed tools from the toolbox to get this one opened. Then took ages to roll up the scroll again. Thanks for bringing us here!

Just spent 3 nights at Wellington traveling around nearby far geocaching. Such a great way to discover many adventurous places.

Open on this day. A very pleasant little settlement. Had a chat with one of the locals who told me there was a funeral going on in the church, so didn't go in. Thanks duncast.
This cache is still currently under COVID restrictions due to the local government's restrictions - the cache is in good order however currently cannot be accessed by visitors until the town has been reopened.
After reading the last log we came to see if the community was open and access to the cache was possible. Simple answer. NO. Oh well. Onto the watch list and we will have to come back another time.
ROAD TRIP! Time to head south and fill a few gaps near the Coorong that require a 4WD to access. [^] So I joined Featherwaite in the trust Hilux and with E.gregory in his mighty Palace on wheels in support what could possibly go wrong. [?]
Day 1: Get there and find a nice spot to camp for the night:: It ended up being Tea Tree Crossing Campsite which we had all to ourselves. But of course there were a few caches to find along the way.

Came and found the cache today, but it’s done up so tight, it wasn’t possible to open it. This one may need some CO attention, or a visit by someone with a couple of pairs of vice grips.
Might need to disable this one until the community is accepting visitors again. There’s a bollard in the middle of the road and it’s open to local traffic only.
The local community is not currently accepting visitors - this will be disabled until this is no longer the case.
After enjoying nearly all of our week in Meningie we decided that a tour around Lake Albert was in order while trying for some of the nearby caches. The weather was surprisingly cool for this time of the year but much better than caching on a hot day.
Whata beautiful old church and fascinating Australian history

Staying around the area and re visiting a loop of the lake and noticed a bit of history here we didn't realize existed.
Wow this church is special, it's not every building that can say it's on a $50 note, well ya know what we mean. Found the cache but no $50 lying around, oh well. What a quiet place it is out here, not sure how many live here but we did not see a soul, no dogs, cats or people, bit eerie really. Great information on the description also, thanks, not very well known facts. Aah should have added a picture of the painting on the nearby wall, but logging later we forgot to take a photo.
Thanks downcast for an interesting cache, been ages since we have done a downcast cache.
Found it signed it and replaced it safe and sound as found, TNLN

My final day of my weekend down at the south-east on the Limestone Coast, I finished up a little earlier than anticipated, and so decided to make my slowly north grabbing a few geocaches. I drove through Tantanoola (finding a couple of newly published caches), then through Millicent, found a few more of the GV2020 caches that were inaccessible the last time I was driving that trail, and then I managed to geocache through Hatherleigh. My intermediate pit stop was at Parnka Point along the Coorong, and managed to find an oldie and adventurous island cache. Then, rather than a flying visit through Meningie along the Princes Highway, a decision was made to turn left around Lake Albert. Consequently, a few stops were made within Meningie and heading out, and then consequently at Long Point, Pelican Point, Raukkan and then finally through Narrung catching the ferry across. I had actually forgotten about the ferry here, and it was late by the time I was heading across, that I was glad to see it operating at all hours of the day.
I had anticipated that I would arrive in Raukkan much earlier than I did, and I hadn't realised the history of this place, including that the church is featured on $50 notes! How cool is that! I began to search the nearby seat for the container, and noted some of the previous weird logs. I did a detailed search for this cache, and nope, nothing. Began to look around and return to the seat. I did another detailed search, still nothing. I noted some interesting secret spots, and sure enough, the evil cache container was found! What a tricky hide! Note that the coordinates were out by 7 m, with my coordinates of the cache at S 35° 30.454' E 139° 07.963'.
The logbook appears to be quite inconsistent with previous finders, with a few missing from the physical logbook (refer photograph). Otherwise, the cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks duncast for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

We spent the night in Meningie. A bit of the power trail this morning and then some sightseeing.
We are visiting from South Africa. . Landed in Sydney and are driving along the coast to Adelaide.
Vir die Suid Afrikaaners. Ons is op toer van Port Elizabeth. Eers na Singapoer en dan na Australia. Ons het in Sydney geland en ry kuslangs na Adelaide. Baie lekker.

It's been a long time since we've even attempted a nano, found this easily enough! Great town, worth the trip. TFTC
The last floor for the Meningie School was delivered this morning, so I am taking the rest of the day to do some geo sight seeing.
Unfortunately I could not locate this geo. Fabulous location, with great history. So thanks for the placement as it brought me here to have a look.

What a beautiful old church. This town is very clean and tidy. Cache quickly spotted. TFTC found with The X-Trailers. A fav fav point today
We took the obligatory photos in front of the church with fairy penguins actually holding a $50 note. Then after all that strain we needed to sit down and rest in the right place to locate the cache! It took some effort to open, but we finally managed to access the log so that we could record our visit. Great mural across the road! Cache #2833.
Woke up to an early start hoping to get as many caches up this way as possible, an amazing area that we would never have come to if it wasn't for geocaching but a definite to come back to with all the family. TFTC
Took a while to find but eventually got it. Had a few spider webs on it. Found an abandoned conservation reserve just up the road near the cemetery. Definitely worth a look
Take it easy. A great spot down the end of the road. The church looked peaceful and the seat so inviting. If I'd had a 50 in my pocket I would have got another perspective shot.
Thanks to duncast and **clear skies** from TeamAstro. [^] Cache the planet!
Absolutely everything is forgiven. The history lesson and the location made it all worth while. The only muggles I saw today wanted to sit on 'my' bench. No way. Eventually I was able to grab the sneaky little thing and sign the log. TFTC

Found with sharkiefan
Headed over the border into South Australia for a June Long Weekend caching trip to Meningie. Oh and to help sharkiefan make it to the big 10,000th smiley.
After abandoning the ROTF series at 180 from the north, we had more time to cache and have a good look around the Meningie and Lake Albert area.
When reading up on some of the caches in the Meningie area, this one took my interest seeing of its history and Australian significance, and also the fact that most of us at some stage has handled a $50 note but never taken notice as to what is on it
While I don't get the chance to handle many $50 notes myself, I can now say I've been to the church that is pictured on it.
TFTC duncast
Dropping off a fav on this one. (not many NANOs get faves from me, but this one is suited to the area highlights a great part of the Australian History)

A sneaky nano. Normally I'm not a fan but it was probably the safest type for this spot. What an interesting community. It felt like a ghost town. Spotter some fabulous artwork that wouldn't have looked out of place on a silo! A favorite point for bringing me here. We liked the camping spot near the ferry so may be back in warmer weather.
This weekend mission was to get to 10,000 finds.
Initially the plans were to do the ROTF series, but a combination of not realizing that I was so close to 10,000, plus not wanting it to be a boring power trail cache for my big number AND the trail was on such a bad road with awfully incorrect hints and coords, so we abandoned the original plan at about 3pm and concentrated on just seeing the sights and finding what was along the way. It was much more fun.
The end of the weekend had me at 10,011 finds and quite pleased with the rest of my weekend.
I had found 5 types of geocache (trad, multi, mystery, letterbox and Earthcache) and seen some amazing wildlife and scenery. Basically the ideal caching trip.

Suscoe and Phetlern headed out this morning for a final round of the Meningie area to find a few caches in some interesting locations.
The sky was a little overcast, very gentle breeze and quiet roads to travel.
What a splendid area this is and we have been pleased that we decided to have a few days here to enjoy the countryside and the caches in the very good company of Phetlern.
Thanks to duncast for this hide.
We knew about David and some of his achievements but it is always nice to actually stand in the place that significant people lived and went about their daily lives.

After completing the ROTF series, it was a complete change and the promise of some individual caches which drew us with Suscoe, to this fascinating area of SA. We loved the birdlife, the coastal scenery and of course earning a smiley token.
What a fascinating story - another spot we would have missed if the CO had not placed a cache there. Thank you!
Thanks 'duncast' for placing caches for everyone's enjoyment.

Had a chance to drive a bit further today with Purrfect Di assisting.
Nano on a bench seat should be easy enough, so we had our suspicions
After searching every inch of the spot at gz, we looked in the trusty kit to see what we had that could fit here.
It's a worthy site for a cache with some great hstory that had us comparing our fifty dollar note to the scenery!!
Amazingly we had a nano in the kit, and better still it was green!
Tucked it neatly one end in the top curly bit where it should be nice and safe.
It looked like the whole area had been manicured and whipper snipped, maybe for Easter, and low down may be a bad idea!
Hope you didn't mind us helping, it was a great place to be able to come and learn some history too.
Thanks duncast , giving it a fav for bringing us to this special place.

Found with Astronaut99 and Beaker on a long weekend camping, kayaking and geocaching adventure up the Coorong and all over the Fleurieu Peninsula. Highlights included seeing hundreds of Pelicans in the Coorong, Jellyfish in the crystal clear waters at Victor Harbour/Port Elliot, visiting a sea cave, and waking up in our swags on Australia Day to see the silhouette of kangaroos! This was a lovely church and an interesting piece of history! Worth a favourite point. Thanks

Thanks for the history lesson... I had no idea of the importance of this church and it's appearance of the $50 note. Loved seeing some of the local murals around the town as well. I'd always wanted to come down to Raukkan to see what was there and now I have!!

After a couple of nights down at 42 Mile Crossing , thought we'd have a look around the area south of Lake Albert on our way home [^].
The community was almost deserted today (only saw a couple of people) [8)].
The cache log was missing, as the lid catch is broken off [B)]. Added a new log and used a DISK sticker to hold it all closed before putting it back (don't know how long it will last) [?].

Great to read about the history of David Unaipon, the church and the community here, and that most of us touch the $50.00 note nearly every week, without realising its significance [^].

We had an audience of children at the nearby houses, watching our every move. I'd say they know about the cache.

We had a previous finder with us and he confirmed that the cache was gone. Found a replacement in the Pajero.
I was staying in the nearby ferry-side camp site near Narrung when I heard about the famous Raukkan Community Church. I had a quick look; my coords led me to the church corner, but no luck. I suspect that chair nearby might be the next place to look when I return that way.
You are forgiven for the nano because the church is such a significant site. Thanks for the history lesson too! TFTC duncast.
D needed to come to Raukkan for work, what does every good geocacher do when visiting a new area for the first time? scope out caches of course
With a busy day and only a short break, decided to give this one a quick go, cache was quickly located with some help from a previous finder.

Our second day of camping at Meningie for the Australia Day Long Weekend. We headed out after brekky to do a loop around Lake Albert and to find some caches on the way. We arrived at this one to find a family having a photo taken to rreplicate the image on the $50 note. I assume that was the case as the Photographer was holding a $50 and directing them to move this way and that. We waited while they did this, and then they went into the church!! AArrgghhh!!...waiting ...waiting....They are not coming out anytime soon,...So we decided to drive around a bit and have a look around. We returned about 10 minutes later, to find them still mulling around their car, which was parked in fron t of GZ!!! Even worse than when they were in the Church....Sigh....we waited for another 10 minutes before they finally left. ABOUT TIME!!! TFTC

Quick easy find, the husband hates nano's a lot. Had to use a stick to get the log out which was the hard part.
Nice piece of history and of course being a NANO was a little tricky to find. Not so for my Muggle friend who discovered it and said "Is this what you are looking for ?" TFTC
A DNF for us unfortunately. We felt a little exposed here, and just didn't feel all that comfortable, so moved on after a couple of minutes search. We were very impressed with just how clean and tidy this place is!
Found at 12:20PM by Ray and Maya. Nice piece of history. Thanks for the incentive to visit this location. The Nomads.
