Being unfound for over 4 years, I knew I needed to find this cache. The walk up was short and sweet, unlike spotting the cache. GZ had plenty of nooks and crannies to store a cache, and after searching some ridiculous spots, I laid my hands on its cover, relieved that I wouldn't leave empty handed. Thanks for the cache
Replaced and updated the hint, cache has changed size from micro to small, goodluck!
Hi, Owner maintenance was requested on this some time ago. I believe it's been missing years.Thanks.
On arrival at the top I bee lined straight for the obvious hide according to the hint. But after exhausting all the possible hiding spots I came to the conclusion that it wasn't there. Then I looked around at other candidates that met the hint description. Sadly, none of these provided the fruits and I was forced to complete the walk down with a sad face on the map.
We came in from Bamarang road as we thought the track would start there. This is a well maintained gravel road but really only one lane wide for a few km. Fortunately no other cars were met. We found a FT with a sign saying "Pulpit LO." The 900m walk up was easy enough taking 15 minutes. The rocks around GZ were impressive and the views were great. Took a while to find the right tree that was hiding the cache. Lol. We took the TB. TFTC Bonfire7 and for bringing us to this top location.
Spending the day with the CO while doing a maintenance run, got the chance to tackle some hides I likely would have left in the “too hard or another day” basket. Don’t think I ever would have found the right path up here on my own, or down! Helps to know a local though at times felt like he was leading me into a scene from Picnic at Hanging Rock. Once conquered, the challenge and view were definitely worth the effort. Left a Koala TB who’ll hopefully safely watch over the nearby bushland and honour the loss of so much wildlife in the current bushfire season until he gets moved on.
Out for the day to chase up find number 2000 and thought I'd pick up most of what I needed in the Culburra Beach and Nowra areas. This was the ninth find of the day. The walk was a bit deceptive and the trail looks easy at the beginning leading us to think, oh yeah, just up a head and we'll be there. But "up" is the key word here. Not really a hard climb but up up we went until finally we achieved some spectacular views of the Shoalhaven. An easy find followed by a cache container swap by the CO followed by plenty of photos. Lingered a while then back to the car and onward. A great spot worthy of a favorite point. TFTC
Great lookout and well worth the sweaty midday walk up. But maybe not worth it twice. Forgot a pen but took a photo of a log as evidence of find. Great spot and a favourite point from me. TFTC
What a beautiful location. Easy enough walk up the trial. Well worth the climb. 360 degrees. One of my favorite caches to date. Found with the geoc

Another day out caching. Today I was in Nowra to celebrate Mistysoho's 4000 find milestone. I left home early to make a day of it by picking off more of my 50km radius. Thanks to all the cache owners for their hides.
Fourth of the day. Just heading out of Yalwal, this one was the next closest to attempt. I still had enough time before the Event to tackle this one. I parked on Yalwal Rd and made my way along the fire trail and then up the track to the top. It wasn't too physically demanding and the weather was just nice enough to keep me happy. The views at the top are phenomenal! Close enough to 360 degree views, with plenty of height for a good vantage point.
Thanks for the visit, I'm sure I'll be back for more photos with friends.

Awesome stuff! Took nine 9/10 year old girls for a hike up here on the birthday camping weekend to introduce them to the bush and our love of geocaching!!! Tftc!!! Awesome stuff x
TikvaNZ, Fox in Jox and I went on a geocaching road trip today. This cache was an unexpected highlight. It was not originally on the agenda, but TikvaNZ pointed out that there was a letterbox cache nearby, which provided added incentive.
We marched up to GZ, enjoying the warm weather and admiring the views.
Near GZ, my GPSr was showing that the cache was down the west side from the top, 13 metres away. It lloked more like terrain 4.5 territory, but I thought I should trust my GPSr. I was just starting to inch my way down when Fox in Jox called out that he had found the cache. Whew! That saved me from a possibly precarious situation.
My cooee did not receive an echo. But it was worth a shot.
As we approached the car (having found the cache), Fox in Jox started speaking in some ancient version of English with a preachy voice. I think he'd been entranced by the magic of Pulpit Rock!
TFTC Bonfire7!
PS I just noticed that we found this cache three years to the day since it was first published! This was not intentional, but a cool coincidence.

Fox in Jox, ZQX and I were on another all day Saturday caching mission, this time from Canberra to Nowra, to Bateman's Bay and back up to Canberra, focusing on high DT and other interesting caches (to help with some challenges). A nice walk up to GZ, and then some great views. After a few minutes Fox in Jox made the find. TFTC.

On a daytrip with ZQX and TikvaNZ from Canberra to Nowra, Jervis Bay, Batemans Bay and back for some high terrain caches and some great scenery along the coast.
What a great view from The Pulpit. After trusting our geocaching sense, I managed to spy the container - our GPS were suggesting a rather more challenging GZ.
What do you do at pulpits - preach of course. So I rambled on about Thy view and how wondrously impressive it was and how all ye shall go to the Rock and look down upon thy river...etc, etc. TikvaNZ and ZQX just rolled their eyes - Fox in Jox has clearly been affected by the scenery!!! Thanks for adopting the cache Bonfire7.

Second time lucky. Parked up the road and walked up the track. Much easier than last time. This time I didn't follow the GPS over the edge but looked around more carefully and found it easily. Did some exploring to see if another 4wd track we found would get us closer but it was a dead end. Thanks Brooka and thanks for the extra hints. (And thanks Bonfire for taking on the cache)
A very enjoyable walk and a quick find thanks to the updated coords in other logs. Super views! TFTC!

could not find trailhead. parked near kayak launch turnoff and walked up track but track was heading away from destination so we returned to start. may challenge again.
What an amazing spot! This is my second cache found at this site. The first time I was here I climbed up (steeply!) from the lower road, This time I stopped on Yalwal Rd, and followed the easy fire trail until it branched onto a walking track up the pulpit. Another couple of walkers followed me, and claimed the viewing platform whllst I poked around for the cache. After a lively discussion on the merits of bushwalking/versus housework they left, and I eventually found the cache.
Although, initially the co-ords had me 14 mtrs over the edge, reason won out, and the clue helped me locate the obvious spot.
Thanks for another excuse to enjoy this fabulous spot, Borooka13!

well, next time i'll read the logs first!
went past the kayak parking, walked up a track a bit, then went back for the 4wd and drove up it. as i was getting further from the cache i decided to change tacks and back down to the bottom and see if there was a more direct track.
let me say, i do not recommend going straight up from the road when the cache is only 200m away. those are long hard vertical metres, i was puffing like a steam train.
the views from the top were spectacular, unfortunately they didn't include a view of the cache. i searched around at the bottom and then at the top, so now i'm going to regroup, beg for a hint, wait until someone else finds it, then on another day like today, head out again.
thanks though, beautiful spot and i would never have known about it
is the track in question the 4wd track just past the kayak launching area?

Having been here before, access wasn't a problem. It was a leisurely and very peaceful stroll to the top and a quick find. Then I sat and enjoyed the views; the rain was sweeping through in showers, and the river was very swollen and brown. Thanks brooka13 for the cache.

What some increcible views, did not know this was here. Thank you for placing a cache here. Favorite point for this beautiful place. TFTC
Since I was working in Nowra today I though of taking a slight detour and do this cache. I didn't think of bringing hiking shoes or at tier with me but since I'm here I'm not turning back.. Wow.. This turned out an epic journey.. Parked the car at the kayak launching parking area and compass pointed straight up 190 mts.. The up hill very sliding hill reminder me of climbing out of a canyon., but I was committed. Eventually made it to the top, soon located the cache and duties done. Now going back down.. Not the same way!! Found a track !!! Douh!!
The views up top are brilliant, the river looked inviting, but not today, need to go back to work. TFTC

Great little walk! Having been here before I knew were to go and were to park. walked up and noticed the track isn't that well visible anymore at some parts. First searched at the wrong level as I didn't see the coords change. Actually looked in the right spot before automatically as I wanted to look if the old cache was still there. Once in the right spot it was a good find.

A lovely walk up here again. Easy find after subtracting the previous said 13 metres.
I had been up here before many years ago to find the cache Preacher's Pulpit. Cheated this time though by engaging 4WD Low & taking it steady up that track just past the kayak ramp parking area. The new Maxxis tyres handled the loose gravel well. Saw a track to the right so walked from there. The corrected co-ords were spot on & made a quick find then had a late lunch. The RFS are burning off in a number of directions so decided to do Hole in the Wall another day as quite breezy.
There have been 3 finds on 3 consecutive days. Thanks brooka13 & RiverRuners.

Almost embarrassed to admit that after 36 years in the Shoalhaven I have never been here. After a brief conversation with my son this morning a knew where to park & start my walk. A great bush walk with stunning views & a cache at the end on a perfect Autumn day - just what my soul needed today. When I reached the pulpit I said a prayer 'Thank God I didn't follow the GPS the extra 13 mtrs'.
