Alot of time and effort was invested into placing this series and I am glad to see that so many people have enjoyed it. After being in play for 10 years, the ownership was trasnferred over to DSD to keep the trail alive, thanks DSD. Learnt alot of new things also during the creation of this series about all the different endangered animals, its sad really.

Starting to head home now over the next few days and picking some up along the way.Stopped of here and found after a short search. Thanks DARKSIDEDAN for placing the cache and doing the maintenance needed, so we can find this cache.

This series is the linchpin of my 200 in 24 hours challenge. I've wanted to get it for a while and decided it would work well as the basis to try and meet the 200 goal. Thanks for all the caches you place - it's a huge effort. I struggle to get out and maintain a few dozen.

Today it was time to return my daughters car to here in Geelong, so this means a long road trip with a few caches along the way. It was meant to be a pretty warm day at home, but my weather checks for my trip locations showed that it should be a nice day, which apart from getting pretty tired from a full day of driving, it certainly was. I have driven by this little town countless times over the last 50 years, and this was now an opportunity to finally take the detour into here for the first time!I had wanted to take in this series one day, and as I was driving by, thought Id just pop by to find just a couple. A short search discovered the hide once I realised just what I was doing wrong!w

It was very wet underfoot and very overgrown. Some containers were found out in the open and I surprised they didn't float away. I suspect some others have. There were also a number that had wet logs and could not be signed. Overall, it was a fun morning in a beautiful area. Unfortunately, this one eluded me today

Today’s adventures out and about picking up some caches around Bookham and surrounds with Marmaduke Rothschild. An epic day planned before our starts to shrink once again with lockdowns closing in around us.

And before the next lot of rain hits us. With winter nearly over I’m sure looking forward to spring and longer days of warmth and sunshine ️.

All logs in good condition unless otherwise noted.

Thanks to COs for placing and maintaining these caches.

With a day off and possible FTF’s along the ES trail behind Bookham, I decided on going out there to collect the next chunk of caches along the road. A little more purple then last time I was out here. It was a very peaceful drive until one of the locals hassled me, about what I was doing. She knew about Geocaching but wasn’t fully convinced that was what I was doing, **so future Cacher’s beware.** Other than that, I have now have completed the Dirt part of the trail and a couple of others along the way, which included finding some GCA Moveable caches. These moveable caches have already been moved to the above location. TB visit on all caches. I would like to thank all CO’s of the caches I found and to DSD for maintaining the PT. It has brought me much enjoyment. Big Grin TFTC’s Big Grin

The family is on the coast enjoying the school holidays so I decided to have the long weekend in the Yass-Tumut district to increase my numbers for the year. The first challenge was the Threatend Species Trail so I took the blue road grader down this road to try and crack 100 for the day.
The road was very busy (maybe long weekend not such a great idea), the grass was very long and the Caches do need a little TLC. In the end I found 89 caches had 12 DNFs and 2 I just couldn't really look for.

Last time I was here I was planning t walk from the third cache to this one before heading home. As I strolled through the bush I could hear music and as I approached I suddenly realised there was a funeral in progress. Plan curtailed so this was the first for today. Started the run at 9:40 and this was a quick find

Before that I did about 10 caches in this endangered species trail.
All caches attempted were in good condition Didn't attempt#10 owing to recent dnf's

Cache 4034 on 15 Sep 2018

A plan was hatched in the last week with TikvaNZ to finally get out to Bookham and do the Endangered Species trail. It has been a long time coming for me and I had several half-hearted attempts over the last few years to get organized enough to do it. But now it is happening! We will attempting to do it all in one go, but no judgement if we have to come back to finish it off another day. Unless otherwise noted, all caches were found easily, in accordance with the hint and in good condition.

For this cache: toy with cache!

Thanks Rapidlywild for the cache and the fun!

AngelG27 and I had talked about doing this series for well over a year, prefering to wait for the warmer months and longer days, but avoiding the peak of summer. Everything lined up at relatively short notice to do them today. We departed my place just before 7am, and I was dropped home again just before 3pm. From #001 to #110 took just under 4.5 hours. Most were easily and quickly found. A few were found out in the open. We replaced the lid for one. Some had been replaced by the previous finders. We did DNF 4 but re-searched on our return and found two of them, leaving only two unfound. We didn't find three of the letters, but hadn't looked in the first few caches. Fortunately we had enough to easily determine where the final was. It was a very pleasant day out and the area was looking very green. TFTC and series.

#3304 Today we attempted the first 22 of this series with 20 finds and 2 dnfs before moving on to explore other areas. Must say this is a very pretty valley travel down and learning a bit about each endangered species through caches is a good concept to help raise awareness. Some finds were quick and others took some searching. Finding a safe area to park was tricky at times but it was a very quiet road for most part.

This was our favourite spot to visit on this PT today. We took a moment to explore the adjacent cemetery. Enjoyed discovering the cache guardian here too! TFTC specimenX & Rapidlywild.

The cache guardian on this one had us fooled for a while! This series has been on our radar for some time, and we have passed by a number of times, always with something important on the agenda meaning we were unable to stop.
This time we left Tumut and made the short journey to Jugiong. A wonderful camp place with facilities and a few caches, but within striking distance of this series.
And what a great series it was. Initially the landscape was somewhat scrubby, but the further we got into the trail the more it opened up into farming country. But oh so dry!
Striking the river we saw it as almost an anomaly in the accompanying countryside. But we particularly enjoyed following it and saw a number of campers in the seemingly remote area.
Most of the caches were nice quick finds, but we did struggle with a few and also ended up with a few DNFs.
Great to see good-sized caches for such a large series.
Our apologies for the generic log, but we really did enjoy the series and the drive through the countryside.

Sorry for the generic log - ACTchil and I drove to Cootamundra to visit my family there and we decided we would give this series a hit on the way, we left quite early in the morning and decided to start at #92 to # 61 then turned back to #110 after realising we missed the fork in the road we completed them and back to finish the rest as we have wanted to do this series for a while. This find was interesting as someone had left a dragon toy on top of container just like a cache guardian so liked that tftc SpecimenX & Rapidlywild.

A cute and fun series, thanks guys Cool Only my initials are in the book to save space.

What a nice little get away.....I needed some R&R and so decided to head across the border from SA to Victoria and then NSW to attend the OzGeoMuster Mega with friends.

I mainly hung out with the lovely micaparamedic and the fabulous ChooknChunk and I also enjoyed many happy moments with others.

Some of the stand out moments included: camping in Belanglo State Forest and doing a night cache at 1am; 4wding and having water over the car bonnet; sitting around and chatting/chilling; sleeping loads; relaxing continuously and then watching some fab fireworks (thanks Team Crackers), and all in all a much needed break. Gary and I slowly made our way back to Bendigo before heading back to Adelaide.

Thanks so much for the cache Rapidlywild! Smile

Today was going to be an absolute scorcher with temperatures of 30+ expected so we decided to go caching again and the goal today was the endanged species series, however we were unable to finish the endanged species mystery we only had 9 of the 10 numbers found. This was find #107 of our total of 112 finds consisting of 111 traditionals 1 Mystery and 1 DNF.

Thanks Rapidlywild & specimenX for placing this series we started at the last one and worked our way back to bookem before returning to our Yass campsite.

Grand Cache count = 674 total consisting of 641 Traditionals, 18 Multi, 6 Mystery, 4 Earth, 2 Virtual and 3 Event.

With another early start we left Yass and headed south to attack the Endangered Species series in the company of Na'wal and DAB on our 3 day camping trip up north. With the weather being ideal, we thoroughly enjoyed our caching day as we headed down Childowla Rd towards the picturesque journey along the river where all but one cache was signed as The DNT.
Thanks so much specimenX & Rapidlywild for the placement of this excellent series for us and others to enjoy.

DAB, the Tritonz and myself were a long way from home for a caching trip. We were up at the crack of dawn again for another big day of caching (signing our logs as The DNT) after camping the night before (well some of us did as it was a bit wet and some others were a little soft Wink A series that had some great scenery further into it. We arrived in Yass later than we hoped so found some accomodation for the night. Had a look on the map and noticed this trail so thought we would get some done this afternoon and maybe a few more in the morining on our way out of town. The logs will be mainly generic and we will let you know on the last cache we end up doing, just how we went.

I was heading up to Canberra for the weekend, and managed to leave Gundagai at 6.30 so had to to grab 30 of these as a quick drive by, pretty much, park see where car GPS was pointing, a quick hunt, sign, and off to the next one, thanks for the caches. I missed this one on the way up due to the slight distance from the road, but grabbed it on the way back

03-Jul-17
A one-week roadtrip from Melbourne, picking up CT_ZA in Sydney, and then going to the Gold Coast, resulted in 4500km of caching, sightseeing and fun.
After the first night's rest nearby I thought I would start the day with some of this series, rather than heading north immediately. I had found a few them already during a previous visit. This time I cached for about 90 minutes and found another 32 caches (from #4 to #35). I missed #20 on my initial run as a muggle farmer was parked right at GZ, but when I returned a little later the coast was clear.

I'm fortunate to be quite familiar with the African elephant - the're native to my country of birth.
Thanks for the series, Rapidlywild & specimenX.

Finally an opportunity to hit the Endangered Species trail. Got an early start and travelled down the Hume to Bookham on a day of showers on Anzac Day 2017.
Had great success, knocking over more than half of the hides today. After reaching 60 finds, I was trashed, the car was trashed and I was soaked and out of food and drink, so decided to call it quits as soon as I had a DNF.
Most caches were easily found, with mainly excellent coords making it so.
Apologies for the generic log,
