Alot of time and effort was invested into placing this series and I am glad to see that so many people have enjoyed it. After being in play for 10 years, the ownership was trasnferred over to DSD to keep the trail alive, thanks DSD. Learnt alot of new things also during the creation of this series about all the different endangered animals, its sad really.

Now we are staying two nights in Yass on the way to Canberra for the mega and pick up some more caches .Found the cache with TBU1BIKESU. Tftc. Thanks for adopting DARKSIDEDAN

This series is the linchpin of my 200 in 24 hours challenge. I've wanted to get it for a while and decided it would work well as the basis to try and meet the 200 goal. Thanks for all the caches you place - it's a huge effort. I struggle to get out and maintain a few dozen.

It was very wet underfoot and very overgrown. Some containers were found out in the open and I surprised they didn't float away. I suspect some others have. There were also a number that had wet logs and could not be signed. Overall, it was a fun morning in a beautiful area. Cows in residence here prevented a search

Today’s adventures out and about picking up some caches around Bookham and surrounds with Marmaduke Rothschild. An epic day planned before our starts to shrink once again with lockdowns closing in around us.

And before the next lot of rain hits us. With winter nearly over I’m sure looking forward to spring and longer days of warmth and sunshine ️.

With a day off and possible FTF’s along the ES trail behind Bookham, I decided on going out there to collect the next chunk of caches along the road. A little more purple then last time I was out here. It was a very peaceful drive until one of the locals hassled me, about what I was doing. She knew about Geocaching but wasn’t fully convinced that was what I was doing, **so future Cacher’s beware.** Other than that, I have now have completed the Dirt part of the trail and a couple of others along the way, which included finding some GCA Moveable caches. These moveable caches have already been moved to the above location. TB visit on all caches. I would like to thank all CO’s of the caches I found and to DSD for maintaining the PT. It has brought me much enjoyment. TFTC’s

The family is on the coast enjoying the school holidays so I decided to have the long weekend in the Yass-Tumut district to increase my numbers for the year. The first challenge was the Threatend Species Trail so I took the blue road grader down this road to try and crack 100 for the day.
The road was very busy (maybe long weekend not such a great idea), parking was mixed, the grass was very long and the Caches do need a little TLC. In the end I found 89 caches had 12 DNFs and 2 I just couldn't really look for. In the end I also only found four of the clues for the puzzle so that was not solved either

Good day caching

Said goodbye to Di Morgan who are heading further South as we head North and Home. Today was the Endangered Species trail hopefully to be able grab them all, while letting the wife get access to watch the Canberra Raiders on the Phone. (Don't ask, today they did not win) Also picking up the outgoing and incoming where we can.

The Endangered Species trail, needs an Owner maintenance check, as we replaced a few on the trail after spending considerable time at gz and then widening only to find some containers cracked or out exposed or 13mtrs from GZ. I do note that we did dome accross new containers placed in Jul 18

On my way to the Clearwaters Mega Event in Queanbeyan! I found the first 5 of this series a few years back on my way home from a trip to Canberra. We didn't have time to complete and series then and that didn't change today.

I did a lot of it, the weather was spectacular. Apart from a few dead wombats, thing went well. I was able to pick up find number 12,000 during my short run today too! Please excuse the copy and paste logs, it's going to be a big weekend! Thanks for the cache, and the series Rapidlywild & specimenX.

A plan was hatched in the last week with TikvaNZ to finally get out to Bookham and do the Endangered Species trail. It has been a long time coming for me and I had several half-hearted attempts over the last few years to get organized enough to do it. But now it is happening! We will attempting to do it all in one go, but no judgement if we have to come back to finish it off another day. Unless otherwise noted, all caches were found easily, in accordance with the hint and in good condition.

AngelG27 and I had talked about doing this series for well over a year, prefering to wait for the warmer months and longer days, but avoiding the peak of summer. Everything lined up at relatively short notice to do them today. We departed my place just before 7am, and I was dropped home again just before 3pm. From #001 to #110 took just under 4.5 hours. Most were easily and quickly found. A few were found out in the open. We replaced the lid for one. Some had been replaced by the previous finders. We did DNF 4 but re-searched on our return and found two of them, leaving only two unfound. We didn't find three of the letters, but hadn't looked in the first few caches. Fortunately we had enough to easily determine where the final was. It was a very pleasant day out and the area was looking very green. TFTC and series.

Out for the day to up my numbers. Is dark now but I can't leave without finishing the series.
This part of the drive winds through private property and cattle are everywhere. The calves are cute. It seems that even though TickvaNz was here earlier today the cattle have been picking inside the caches hiding spot and I found it lying out in the open. I put it back under cover. Hopefully it will stay safe. Cache was found in good condition.

Found during a geocaching trip with 2 goals, 1. Complete the power trail for NibletRiceCakes, CountryKittyKat, MinnieK and Fitzy_1969, 2. Try to earn all the Hidden Creatures souvenirs. We completed Goal 1, Goal 2 not quite. Such an amazing power trail with amazing views. Tackled with MinnieK, Fitzy_1969, CountryKittyKat, K8TYBEE, NibletRiceCakes and TheCutlets. Made a day of the bottom half of the series with K8tyB, TheCutlets, Jdogmonkey, Countrykittykat, and MinnieK with Fitzy_1965 along for the ride. TFTC

Headed out with Countrykittykat, Nibletricecakes, JDogMonkey & k8tybee for a bit of caching along the Endangered Species Series.. Fitzy_1965 was designated drive for car 2 so that he could pick up the last couple that weren't published when he was last out here.

We started at the end furthest from home as we had a time limit. All caches found easily. Maintained some as we went with permission from the CO.

This series has been on our radar for some time, and we have passed by a number of times, always with something important on the agenda meaning we were unable to stop.
This time we left Tumut and made the short journey to Jugiong. A wonderful camp place with facilities and a few caches, but within striking distance of this series.
And what a great series it was. Initially the landscape was somewhat scrubby, but the further we got into the trail the more it opened up into farming country. But oh so dry!
Striking the river we saw it as almost an anomaly in the accompanying countryside. But we particularly enjoyed following it and saw a number of campers in the seemingly remote area.
Most of the caches were nice quick finds, but we did struggle with a few and also ended up with a few DNFs.
Great to see good-sized caches for such a large series.
Our apologies for the generic log, but we really did enjoy the series and the drive through the countryside.

ACTchil and I drove to Cootamundra to visit my family there and we decided we would give this series a hit on the way, we left quite early in the morning and decided to start at #92 and were so pleased to find this one. A great day to go caching and this one was our 23rd find. We were really keen to do this series that we have wanted to do for a while. tftc SpecimenX & Rapidlywild.

Found with Gonefishen and Zobo04. We signed GAZ so as to not take uo space and because it was quicker. We found all the caches bar four and they have had DNF's put on them. Many thanks for the series.

Today was going to be an absolute scorcher with temperatures of 30+ expected so we decided to go caching again and the goal today was the endanged species series, however we were unable to finish the endanged species mystery we only had 9 of the 10 numbers found. This was find #43 of our total of 112 finds consisting of 111 traditionals 1 Mystery and 1 DNF.

Thanks Rapidlywild & specimenX for placing this series we started at the last one and worked our way back to bookem before returning to our Yass campsite.

Grand Cache count = 610 total consisting of 577 Traditionals, 18 Multi, 6 Mystery, 4 Earth, 2 Virtual and 3 Event.

Back 10 months later to complete the last 50 of the endangered species. Thanks heaps to Rapidlywild and SpecimenX for an amazing power trail in beautiful countryside and awesome info. Thanks for getting me out and about. TFTC.

With another early start we left Yass and headed south to attack the Endangered Species series in the company of Na'wal and DAB on our 3 day camping trip up north. With the weather being ideal, we thoroughly enjoyed our caching day as we headed down Childowla Rd towards the picturesque journey along the river where all but one cache was signed as The DNT.

DAB, the Tritonz and myself were a long way from home for a caching trip. We were up at the crack of dawn again for another big day of caching (signing our logs as The DNT) after camping the night before (well some of us did as it was a bit wet and some others were a little soft The scenery just started to get better the further along the road. We have not seen this animal before. A quick find today as a few local farmers went by. Signed and replaced as found.

What a day ! we did not know till this morning that this was gunna happen but a 3 hr drive a great brekkie at Binalong and onto the trail , to get to our 5000 target , we had one DNF and easy finds on the rest, made the beer taste really good on returning to Binalong !! we were hitting each cache in between 2 to 3 minute intervals , we Routers do like a good trail, huge thanx to the cache placers for your work.

We arrived in Yass later than we hoped so found some accomodation for the night. Had a look on the map and noticed this trail so thought we would get some done this afternoon and maybe a few more in the morining on our way out of town. The logs will be mainly generic and we will let you know on the last cache we end up doing, just how we went.

Another good find while driving / walking around the area today.

Am really enjoying travelling this trail on a mostly wet Anzac Day. Great to be in the bush chasing caches. Will keep going till a DNF then will head for home - and a hot coffee.

I teamed up with cullum68 and nissan65 to tackle the series,our day started at 4.30am meeting at Sth Nowra.We found our first cache about 8.00am and finished at around 12.30pm.During the series both cullum and myself reached our 2000 find milestone.....high fives all round.
We found all the caches wihout any major problems and absolutly had a ball while admiring the autumn scenery and finding the caches.

Day two of the Endangered Species trail so we thought we would attempt to finish the series before we leave towards the Mega event at Alice Springs.

This trail is a real credit to the cache owners as the quality of caches is first class and they are all in great condition. I really enjoyed the scenery along the way and the picnic sites along the river bank on the last leg are just superb.

Lets see how the trail goes. How many would I find? A late start, but the day looked promising. Final details posted at the last cache (of the day). Great views, no wiggly sticks but plenty of spiders, grasshoppers, sheep, cows and the odd roo and wallaby. Oh, llamas as well. Got into the habit of waving to passing muggles, they all wave regardless. Noticed some caches weren't rehiden that well, maybe the weather, or maybe just someone a little slack. Had fun regarless, which was the important thing. TNLNSL TFTC

Suscoe started this trail today and will hopefully complete it by next weekend.
It was a warm morning to start this one and by half midday we were in the mid 30's.
Hot and still down this way all morning.
But what a delightful area and we enjoyed our 3 hours here today.
A great range of creatures seen as we wandered the trail included wombats, horses, cows, sheep, cockies, alpacas, bees and their hives, a wallaby, millions of grasshoppers, currawongs, bullants and millions of grasshoppers.
We enjoyed the various locations and hides, a few have been thrown by the locals creatures out of their hiding spots to provide nesting spaces. We popped them back where we suspected they belongs.
The river was flowing pleasantly today and the hills looked brown and beaut.

Such a lovely power trail. Heading to a Canberra for a very special cache we wanted to make it a milestone but we were short about 70 smiles. We made a dent doing a few on a Wagga Wagga trail and a few other odds and ends along the way we reached and needed another 40. Took us about 2 hours as we picked and chose which ones to get - avoiding way long grass, houses, farmers, cows and ones that seemed to have lots of hiding places. Everything was found in good order and returned as found. Thank you for placing and maintaining this power trail.

So today was a mission. A mission to complete the Endangered Species Powertrail in Bookham. I dragged Azzepious along with an early morning start. We made the journey down to Bookham, grabbing a couple of caches along the way before starting the trail. Along the way we encountered spiders, snakes, kangaroos, sheep, cows, alpacas and horses. At one stage we were held up behind a flock of sheep. We were treated to some wonderful views. We better planning we would have brought a picnic to have down by the river.

My caching partner Azzepious suffered a bruised heel and a few ant bites. His limping and screams of pain slowed us down but we pushed through to the end. We emerged victorious back into Bookham to find the puzzle cache, capping off the trail.

Most of the caches I found today were in good condition and I only had 1 DNF and 71 finds.

I have never been down this road before, so was very impressed by the beautiful scenery, the fantastic properties and the picturesque river. Many thanks for bringing me here.

Set out with dty73 to see how much of the ES trail we could get through today. Started at #1 at 8am and finished at #110 at 4pm with 1 dnf and 8 we didn't get to with a road closure. Logged at 12.48pm with this being #68:102 of the ES trail we achieved. An outstanding well maintained trail surrounded in stunning scenery. Well done specimenX and rapidlywild a truly outstanding effort! Driving through the farms now and so many cows! luckily we left them in the shade and went to search in a different area.

Today was the day to finish off this series. Like others should have done it before the grass took over. Most finds still easy after wacking away at the grass and thistles. Meet up with some other caches once of the way in and again on the way out. TFTC.

Been keen to come back and have another run at some more of this trail. It was a day off (shift worker) and with the geofamily interstate visiting family for a week it was the perfect opportunity to get out and just enjoying the beautiful weather and do a good day of caching. It was a late start due to sleeping in but made me way down the Hume to do the next stage of this series. The grass had grown considerably longer since I was here recently and made for some more difficult finds trying to watch for snakes and eventually found one sun baking near #30. Pickup a couple of trackables and dropped a few. All in all it was a great day and very keen to come back and do some more

Be back another time for this one nearby muggles loading up sheep.

**Staying at Yass and intending to do the ESPT over two days. I think this is the best time of the year to do the series with everything green and lush and hopefully not any snakes. Best scenery we have seen in a long time. The finds have been relatively straight forward and I noted many caches have new log books. We are using the 4WD so no issues we hope.TFTC and TFTPT. **I had two days free, a little i30 and a swag, I was ready to take on the ESPT. I messaged the CO, to ask if I needed to assist in any of the caches, and did on a few, as the logs were wet, etc. I found out the day before leaving that a deluge of rain had fallen and the river had risen. The river wasn't the only issue. I was creek hopping at every cache, with the water running beside the roadway. A no point did I let my i30 leave the road, or t would have been bogged. Half way through day one and I was already more than halfway through the trail. Maybe I could do this in one day? Completing them in order I came up to #101, and could not pass the swollen creek crossing, it was still early in the afternoon, so I abandon the i30 and make my way on foot the the final 10. All up 6.5hrs with 112 Caches under my belt (Inc Licence Please)**

Saturday 30 July 2016 - after the thick fog lifted around 10.30am a magnificant sunny Winter's day emerged. With a brilliant blue sky and reaching the mid teens it was perfect for a brisk walk over a 5 hour period finding 49 from 49 caches. Enjoyed the Alpacas with cria, beautiful black bulls and cows - one was feeding triplet calves, sheep feeding their lambs, wild horses with foals, wallabies with wombat size noses, kookaburras, cockatoos and a large eagle spreading its magnificent wings.

The landscape has brilliant green pastures and hills with rivers, creeks and brooks full and flowing rapidly into Oaks Creek and then the Murrumbidgee nearby. We were unable to cross the creek via the concrete 'bridge' by car, after ES#98, due to the speed and depth of water flowing. Therefore we walked along the edge of Oaks Creek approx. 500m until we found a fallen log that enabled us to scamper safely to the other side to enjoy the 6km return walk to find caches ES#99-110.

Worth two favourite points for the start and end of today's finds. Will be back to find the rest of the caches. Thx Muggle husband. Fabulous day. TFTC

Attempting the Endangered Species series has been on our agenda for some time and it became a priority for this trip. We were not confident as it has been raining quite steadily for the last few days but we woke this morning to 1C temperatures but a beautifully clear day. We headed off unsure what was before us. In the end we were able to find 96 caches, had DNFs on two caches but were unable to attempt #99 to #110 inclusive because a swift flowing creek made it unsafe for our 2WD car to continue.

The Endangered Species series is located along some of the best scenery we have seen for some time, particularly at the eastern end down on the river flats. It is magnificent country, an experience we would not have enjoyed without geocaching. Most of the finds were straightforward. Unless stated otherwise, the caches and logbooks were in reasonable condition - at times we were not sure if some logbooks were damp or very cold. Thanks specimenX and Rapidlywild for a very enjoyable series in a very picturesque part of Australia.

Returned to the half-completed trail over a year after I left it. All quiet today, only saw one vehicle over the 48 caches I did. All were pretty quick finds with good clues. Made much easier by the lack of a ziplock bag on the logs and having the logbook open at the right page. Took less than two hours to do the lot on my own, keeping the engine running the whole time. Apologies for the copy/paste nature of most logs but nearly everyone does it and it's tricky to come up with nifty poems for each animal.

We've been wanted to tackle the Endangered Species trail for some time now, and these school holidays we finally had the chance. I've been joined by Ryan Girls and geo/muggle Starlight. Nice day for a spot of caching with a picnic by the river!

Found on my last day in the ACT. It was overcast and looked like rain today but it hasn't rained on me yet so off I went. I found 108 of the caches but include 2 I replaced and a few I repaired along the way. Most caches were easy finds but not in the most obvious spots so a wee bit of a challenge. The area at the end down Nanangroe Rd is just marvelous. It took me just over 7 hours by myself including extra hunting time when I couldn't find one and while I was enjoying the scenery. Tftc

Day six of our month long escape from Tassie. Today we're going back to do the rest of the Endangered Species trail. Found 106 out of 110 over the two days. Fairly warm today but still enjoying ourselves. TFTC
