Day trip over to Wilsons Prom today. Ended up being a beautiful and clear day with lots of wildlife out and about. Did a few short hikes and the Oberon summit. Found 4 caches in total which were all in good shape and with accurate coordinates leading to quick straight-forward finds. TFTC!

The last time I was down the prom, this was a DNF for me. I went round and round in circles. I jumped down the ledge, widening the search and spent way too long looking without success. This time around, I looked at the activity logs, trying to glean any information that would help. I can finally turn my sad face into a smile as I found it very quickly. Its amazing how a few more years of experience does helps.Dropped trackable that I collected on my travels today, that has been sitting lonely for two years.

A trip to The Prom was on my to do list and we ventured here today even though the weather wasn’t too kind. I’ve forgotten what a magical place this is. All the caches on the way through we nice and easy to find. Thanks for the fun and adventure!

31-Mar-23
5 minutes and we had it! Thanks for this one !

06-Mar-23
That was a tricky one. GPS was a bit off, but reaing through previous logs gave us the determination to find the well hidden cache. TFTC

06-Mar-23
Tricky find and GPS had us searching high and low on the wrong side of the road. Description of 30cm PVC helps to find it when considering where a cache that size could be hidden. That’s for a challenging find. Tftc

23-Feb-23
We could find this one quickly, once we got to the coordinates. Tftc!

15-Feb-23
Redemption from a prior DNF. With a nudge in the right direction quickly found early this morning. Tftc jithi5 and for help

12-Feb-23
One of the few on the prom that I hadn't done already while visiting here with Ilukaperi.

TFTC, found eventually.

12-Feb-23
With 2 weeks off work, and my car at the mechanics, there weren't many options of places I could go, my plans had all bombshelled. Luckily I'd organised to cache with day1976 over this weekend, and a post popped up with someone giving away their prom campsite, so I took it.
After climbing Mt Oberon yesterday, I had a sore hip flexor so I wasnt up for more big hikes unfortunately.
It was a drizzly morning, and a bit windy, but I wanted to make the most of the prom,
Parked up near sparkies lookout. Day1976 found this one.

Due to unforeseen circumstances Mr Smokey Bear will no longer be a part of Team Smokey Bear and will continue his adventures as "SmokeyBearOG".

So I'm relogging all previous finds under my new account.
Unfortunately this log will not show the original logging date.

**Thanks to jithi5 for this adventure, looking forward to many more.**

Out and about exploring the Prom on a sunny Sunday, . The cache was definitely not where we were expecting after reading the clue, the gps was bang on the money tftc

I wasn’t being lazy! I just could not find it. Too good for me

21-Nov-21
Hi there.

So, as l expected,  the cache IS there and exactly where it originally was placed and at the correct co-ords.

The cache it in excellent condition and replaced back into its original spot.

The issue here l see occurring all to often is you get new caches that are inexperienced or lazy cagers that's simply don't want to search or bend down.

Thus inturn causes a "did not find" which then causes me to have to defend its validity.

There has to be a better system or way of reporting!

I have now lost several of my caches that received awesome feedback and favourites status to being disabled due to these reasons.

I have not bothered reinstating them as the system is so flawed.

I used to enjoy my caching and even more building and creating them but my interest has been lost due to the need for you to constantly archiving them because people are too lazy or inexperienced to find them.

It is a loss to the the caching community when this happens,  hence why again l say to you that the entire system of reporting is totally flawed.

So in ending, "Rock and Roll ravine" is there and has always been, so it can be reactivated.

Regards lan

Unarchiving cache after maintenance requirements and expectations explained to CO.

06-Mar-21
CO has failed to respond to email enquiry or indicate that the issue/concern/adjustment has been addressed.

As there has not been a response from the cache owner, the cache has effectively been abandoned. Accordingly, the cache is being archived to keep from continually showing up in search lists and to also prevent it from blocking other cache placements.

If there are components or remnants of the cache and you haven't already done so, please return to the GZ and collect the cache (or remnants). We don't want to litter our environment with Georubbish.

Not here on the spot , checked all over

14-Dec-20
Hmm... this one has me stumped. GPS was not much help.will try again another time.

22-Sep-20
Yippee for persistence and final desperation. It just HAD to be there! And it is - that’s after thinking I’d checked every little hole etc etc. I’ll file that spot away in my geomind for future reference. That year of 2011 was devastating and our hike to Sealers reflected Rock and Roll. The noise must have been thunderous. TFTC

No luck and since there were two people before us with no luck also I assume it is not there. Checked both sides of rode and no luck in the usual spot either .

24-Feb-20
Tijden rit van Phillip Island via Wilsons Promotory naar Thredbo deze cache gezocht, maar niet gevonden.

20-Feb-20
We haven’t been doing much in the way of caching with all the restrictions due to Covid -19. As we were sorting out our first caching run in many months we came across several caches sitting in our draft folder that we had found on our only trip in caravan this year. We had a great time (as we always do at Tidal River), we’re just sad that what had been planned as a shake down trip and a trial of our new towing vehicle turned out to be the last time we could get away this year!
So very sorry about waiting until June until we have logged these, but at long last we have done it.
This one had us stumped for a while, but we finally found it. TFTC

14-Feb-20
On way back from one-day-tour at The Prom we tried to find this cache but without success.
Couldn't spot a 30 cm container at GZ nor some meters around. So either we are blind, or the cache is extremly well hidden, or it has gone. Hope it's number 2...
But many thanks for the information in the listing about that mountain slide!

Great view over the valley and impressive sandstone outcrop. It's interesting how all the trees grow to the same level. Cache is in good condition though could do with clearing out the old logs. Tftc

15-Dec-19
Making our way home after a great weekend in tidal river. Grabbing a few caches with mazzystar and Kristysadventures. The gps had us searching both sides of the road but in the end it was on the side we expected, just not in the usual place. TFTC

15-Dec-19
A little bit tricky to get this one. Nice spot!

13-Oct-19
Wasn’t easy the first few minutes, and the road busy with muggles. Satisfied once I did

04-Oct-19
Tricky one.

28-Sep-19
Rats. We thought we could get this one but quick searched between the long lines of traffic weren't as successful. Regretfully left it for next time.

31-Aug-19
We stay here for one night

So we can search for some caches

Thanks for the cache

Greetings from the Netherlands

04-Aug-19
Made the short walk from Darby Saddle ( at least it is a reasonable spot to park). Had a fair idea where this one would be but it wasn't in the obvious spots so had to think about it a bit more. Soon had the larger cache than I thought it would be ( the second wrong assumption). Enjoyed the fact that it wasn't straight forward. TFTC

Found on Sunday 9 June 2019 at 20:28:43

Very much a drove by for us here, not much opportunity to take in the views in the dark, a little nocturnal wildlife spotting was our aim this evening. A fairly quick find, but can see how this catches a few people out. Nice to see a placement in this sort of environment that isnt what you would usually find here. Nicely done.

Thanks jithi5 for placing this Small Traditional - this is find 1149 for BFMC

08-Jun-19
Was on the cutting side of the road but eventually made it to GZ with the cache quickly in hand. TFTC

04-May-19
This one took us a while to find ...crossing across the road multiple times ...the ravine is amazing to look at though so loved stopping at this spot along the way

04-May-19
Girls weekend - a day exploring and caching the Prom - good company - 1 kangaroo, 4 wombats (one was having a permanent snooze), 1 blue fairy wren, 1 venemous jelly snake, a heap of emus and 1 creature that we couldn’t identify - made for a PERFECT soul-nourishing weekend away!!!

This cache had a guessing for a long time. It wasn’t until we were about to give up that the cache presented itself.
Great views of the rock face, the ravine and the plains sprawling below. Absolutely gorgeous spot.

04-May-19
This one took us ages - as others have said, its not in the obvious spot. We didnt mind as the views up here are stunning. It's safer to park at Darby Saddle and walk down to this one rather than the other way around...

23-Apr-19
Pulled over on the way out after a long day’s hike. Family found it, while I rested me bum.

23-Apr-19
Faster_fosters with this one. Took a while and not in the most obvious spot. Got a little confusing with the directions though. TFTC

04-Apr-19
Had a look around but was unable to find it.. Maybe try another time.

Geocaching and vacation is always a perfect combination.

Many thanks for the cache.

I make finding this cache way harder than it needed it to be. Maybe I was just over thinking it. I end up getting this one on the way home as my cache blindness stopped me from getting it on the way there.

Finally ....almost gave up Very Happy great spot

The route took us further south to visit one of our favourite places in Australia, Wilsons Prom. Our first encounter were Picnic and Whisky bay and we took a few boxes on our way back to Yanakie. Thanks to the co‘s for placing and maintaining the boxes. Found and logged together with Mikaching, Swerik and GPS-Wickie.

Today we came from Phillip Island and had not that much to drive. So we could spend some time on our way to the different beaches and on our way back to the house we have rented for caching.

Thanks to jithi5 for placing and maintaining the cache.

09-Dec-18
Today, we would like to spend a couple of ours at the Wilsons National Park. It was a very nice day and we have seen a lot of animals and a beautiful nature. By the way found some Caches Wink. Thanks a lot

07-Dec-18
You are right! It's nice to be able to appreciate the area. There are 8 legged guardians. Be very careful of the screws sticking out the top of the lid. The string is gone

07-Dec-18
Tftf

Took me a while but once I turned on my geovision, it only took about five seconds

07-Dec-18
The string is broken and the screws present a safety issue

07-Dec-18
Not sure about the last log regarding "string and screws" as this cache has neither of these.

22-Nov-18
Found during a visit to Wilson promontory park for hiking.
Rain in the morning but the rain disapear and sunshine the rest of the day.
We wrote full name or IJPS stand for the first letter i our alias ( Jsson, Ingabo, Peter-tvm, Sivun)
TFTC!

22-Nov-18
We, (jsson, peter-tvm, Sivun and myself) went for a trip to Wilson promontory. We logged as IJPS. The day started with rain showers but ended in bright sky and sunshine.
In total we walked almost 15km in lovely nature and fantastic sceneries.
Thanks for placing a cache for me to enjoy and find.

21-Nov-18
Erin1405 and I did a round trip from Alice Springs down South along the coast and ended up in Sydney. We had a marvellous time on this amazing continent viewing a lot of new and beautiful impressions. Of course we searched and found some caches, just like this one. Thanks a lot and many greetings from Germany.

21-Nov-18
I found this cache together with B.F.Pierce during our wonderful vacation in Australia. We drove four weeks with a camper van through this amazing country from Alice Springs to Sydney. We enjoyed the great people, wildlife and countryside so much. Thank you for the great old cache! Best regards from Germany!

16-Nov-18
Spending a day in the prom, drove past these caches a few times but now it was finally time to log them. Thanks!!

13-Nov-18
This year our plan was to spend our "summer vaction" in Australia.
So arriving on the 7th November we took over the campervan and started our tour from Sydney to Adelaine. On that tour we tried to found a lot of caches. This was unfortuanetly one of those we did not found.

Thank's a lot to all CO's that placed and maintain the caches here in "Down Under".

Greetings from the south of Germany

Up early and on our way to check out Wilson's Promontory. Some cool geology. We spotted it from far down below and were happy to not just only get up here, but get out of the car and grab a find here too. Thanks for the cache jithi5.

Yay! Tricky but we found it. Love the Prom.

Today Clematius and I spent our time in Wilsons Prom looking for wildlife and some plastic containers. We found both. Cool Thanks a lot for hiding to jithi5. Smile

While touring Wilsons Promontory ElizaBennet and I had some quick stops to find little plastic containers in a beautiful landscape. Thanks a lot for hiding to jithi5. Smile

09-Jul-18
No luck

28-Apr-18
I find it interesting to see landslide scars; at times I've used them as a clear way through while bush bashing. Here I was content just to view it.

When a cache is near a guard rail one has certain expectations; this was hidden a little differently so I almost gave up (as the previous log had missed it too). Then I saw it and once I saw it it was suddenly a lot easier to find Wink

02-Apr-18
No luck, a little dnagerous on the this corner as cars come flying by and very busy being Easter. We did spend a good 20mins looking but no luck
