Find # 1265631/8/2024 After attending the climbing event, it was time to head to collect a few TE caches around the area in the company of Joolay and KittyKatch Only one DNF in the middle of the river despite three pairs of keen eyes. Oh well, the rock hopping was fun!Later in the afternoon I headed off in a solo adventure to find even more TEs that the others had already found. A mixture of and made for a successful afternoon. Glad to get my tally of Tankengine caches up a little! Thanks Tankengine for Caswell Creepunder
Day 6 of my Canberra Mega Adventure. An early start to caching today, met up with several other WA teams. Logs signed as WA. TFTC
Massive caching days continue. My online logs do not match with days found simply because I cant keep up with online logging sorry. My alliance of 5 all from WA are three young fit boys and two less young ladies who try to keep them honest. We have been up trees and ladders way more than I like and, like all geocachers who insist on wearing shorts in hot weather, our legs are ripped to shreds from hiking. Logging WAC since the three boys usually cache with a fourth called the Cockburn Crew based on their LGA. Having an almost totally cleared map locally, its difficult to explain the excitement of having a map that has caches literally everywhere. Ive cached in Canberra once with my partner and also at the Queanbayen mega but theres still so many to find. Long days and during the few hours allocated to sleep Im so sore I barely sleep anyway. Thanks so much for your contribution to making the days so exhausting and enjoyable. Much appreciated!
The Cockburn Crew are on tour at the Capital Geobash in Canberra - travelling from Perth to Sydney, Canberra, Sydney and finally back to Perth.Today was day 2 and we had an absolute blast. After being up late last night we backed it up again this morning with an early start to make the most of the cooler weather and lack of muggles in the morning cold. We completed a huge number of trails, challenges, whereigos, traditional, multis, earthcaches, labs, virtuals and puzzles. It really was a great day for variety. We enjoyed the large number of virtuals, and caching in territory we havent been before. Weve filled our boots with some of the oldest caches in Australia, some rare DTs and DTTs and generally had a great time. Thanks to the COs for a great day and event. Logs signed as part of team WAC (WA Crew)
Out and about again, headed around Canberra for the MEGA. Super excited my first MEGA and heading over with 2 others from the Cockburn Crew - signed log as WAC to save time. This is 14486, hoping to clock over the 15,000 finds in the week in New South Wales and ACT.Thanks to Tankengine for the caches we found.********** ********** ********** ********** ********** **********OZMEGA2024 OZMEGA2024 OZMEGA2024 OZMEGA2024 OZMEGA2024 OZMEGA2024********** ********** ********** ********** ********** **********Head over to Australian Capital Territory for Capital GeoBash MEGA - Canberras first ever Mega Event. Easter 2024 (GC9PNFB): - 5 day event at Canberra Park adjacent to EPIC (Canberra Showgrounds) on the Federal Highway, only 6km from the centre of the city. The mascot for the Mega is Gangles the endemic Gang Gang Cockatoo, a bird you may see or hear while in Canberra. The official website - geobash.ozmega.com.auACT has over 4700 active caches, power trails, and over 100 Lab Adventures. Heaps of challenge caches, hikes for geocaches for all levels of skills and fitness.
Exciting times over the next couple of weeks as we takeoff for the Capital GeoBash in Canberra! Its going to be a flood of Sandgropers over east, with a host of West Aussies making the trek east for the event. Im travelling with fellow Cockburn Crew members Leg5 and Barnzy12, starting in Sydney and hitting the road to Canberra, before returning back to Sydney. Honourary mention to our fellow member, Cravo10, who couldnt make it after recently introducing a new geocacher to the world the week prior. Once in Canberra, the agenda is set, well team up with a host of Western Australians to conquer caches. Collectively, were hoping to make it the biggest ever weekend for cache finding. Following the event, the journey continues back to Sydney, with a mission to clean up caches and new Local Government Areas (LGAs), ensuring no cache is left unturned in this epic geocaching adventure. Something tells me that well need a holiday after this, well, holiday. All logs have been signed as WAC to save space, abbreviation for Western Australia Crew. Cheers Tankengine! Join us in Augusta, in Western Australias South West, for WA Goes Big 2024 (GCAGV8Y) on Friday 20 to Sunday 22 September. Log your will attend now!
The walk led us also to this underpass were we searched head high and found the cache quite easily. Thanks!
During our two-month trip through New Zealand and Australia we arrived in Canberra to attend the Canberra Walking Festival. Today is the second and last day of walking. This cache was found during the second day of walking.**Tankengine**, thanks for the cache.
My first cache for more than 10 years! The geocaching environment has changed a little since I was last here.
Quick find once we got to the correct part of the GZ structure. A lovely morning to be out and about in Aranda. First of the day.
Dead giveaway graffiti at GZ (TE spray painted below hide). Coincidence? Cheers Tankengine.

In the spirit of reconciliation we would like to acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of country on which we geocache throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community. We (the pants people) pay our respects to their Elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples

Thanks for the cache - it might not be the prettiest place itself for a cache but the walk to get to it is stellar.
Found on a night of geocaching with Crowajingalong and Birralee scout groups. TFTC
Out avenging an old DNF. Not to hard this time. Thanks for the cache TS. Traffic pretty busy above!

Day 3 of our election raid on the nation's capital with purplepeopleater and bella at waggy. After an exhausting day collecting the last of the UFO series on Bullen Range yesterday, we started the day at a more leisurely pace.
On our way to challenge cache corner and decided on a quick detour first. Then headed home after a successful weekend of caching

Day 3 with PPE and Crash 2079 on our Election Raid weekend. Vote 1 Geocaching. Fortunately we manged to spend most of our time away from and get out for good caches, walking, tree climbing, sunshine and a bit of fishing.
A somewhat slower find rate today after the UFOs yesterday not helped at times by our caching skills going out the window.
We completed the signing duties and re hid. TFTC

Found Day 3 of our ACT Election Day expedition, and we found ourselves wandering around and all over Black Mountain in the late afternoon, Great fun with bella at waggy and Crash 2079.

Had a DNF here a while back but this time I avenged it. Poor Olaf went missing! Thanks Tankengine!
Thank goodness a quick find. Nicely hidden. All good with cache. It’s been lovely walking here this afternoon. But need to focus. The main aim is the multi nearby.
Thanks For getting me out and about Tankengine

A nice easy find this afternoon on a wander up from Aranda Snowgums. Unfortunately Olaf was no longer in residence. I hope he has moved on to a cooler climate and has not melted in the recent heat. TFTC.
Found and signed dsd or Darksidedan or AB or Adventure Boys to save space in the logbook thanks for the cache and the adventure
Talk about cache blindness. I looked everywhere but here. Even contacted the CO as I thought the "hint" had been removed. But, no - hint and cache are in place.
Using my hour of exercise of getting the caches around here bit by bit, eh..., cache by cache.
This underpass is quite impressive.

This was a quick find tonight. I don't know how we missed it last time. Nice to tick off another TE cache. TFTC
After walking around Gossen Hill with my exercise hour over the last couple of days, it was time for a change of scenery. A great walk town to this one in the crisp air. Had a bit of a look around and then ignored my coords and went for instinct, there I spotted the very obvious cache. How how how did I miss this last time I looked!?!? Thanks for the cache.
Found @1455. Revisit for geo-hack (although it had moved in the 6 years since they logged it).
Revisit with GH Jnr... He made the find while I scrambled up the rocky wall to see the view from the middle of Caswell drive.
Someone added some Tankengine graffiti near GZ, so we wondered if he took advantage of that when moving the cache There's a stencilled echidna on the top of the arch... added before or after the bridge was constructed???

I was just out for a hike and we stopped here for a quick drink. I did a quick check and saw this cache. Found quickly but I didn’t have a pen so I took a photo of the log sheet. I hope that is ok. TFTC
A quick and easy find, appreciated the guardian of the cache. Really liked the area, what a strange wooden construction beneath the underpass. TFTC
Came out this way with conr86 to make a few finds in the area, thanks for the fun
After finding poor Olaf on his own last time, it's a joy to change that DNF to found!
With the noise of the traffic here, I didn't hear a cyclist coming, so when he said hello to me I almost jumped out of my skin!

Great couple of events today and then a walk with Aquilus1 around the Aranda bushlands picking up caches. So nice to do this again.
No issues with any finds today, except my tallest tippy-toes wasnt quite enough on a few of them.
Just managed to squeeze through under Caswell. Cool echidna stencil on the roof.

Other than the Frozen character, what's an Olaf, we asked. And then we found it. Great day on the centenary trail. TFTC
I don’t get to this area very often so I took the chance to average a DNF. A fast find but unfortunately no pen. Proof of find photo sent to CO

I had a fabulous morning today. I set out with the aim of finding at least 5 caches including a multi and a mystery. I ended up with 6 caches in all including this one. I loved that I could walk a good little circular route in this area that had me achieving my aim except for a multi which I picked up in Cook on my way to this area. Thanks to all the COs for placing and maintaining these caches which were all found easily band in good condition. All logs have been signed and replaced as found.
Now I understand the hint TE. TFTC

Had to go for just one more as this one was too close to pass by. It has also been teasing me every time I drive over it!
Condition Report:. Good and dry
Log Status:. Lots of room
Thanks for hiding this cache Tankengine

Great to be able to turn this from a blue sad face into a yellow smiley today. Popped up here after caching around the Glenloch interchange thismorning, a straightforward find now it's back in its hiding spot. Thanks for replacing, Tankengine.
Decided to check on this one, and it was indeed missing! Cache replaced, good to go!
I think this cache is missing. The six previous cachers also couldn't find - like them, we found Olaf in the right spot but no cache. Checked around GZ and all under the bridge to see if it had been discarded, no no avail.
I note two recent apparent 'finders' had also logged other caches in this area - but alas, we we weren't able to locate their signatures on those logs when we visited - so not sure what they were able to find (besides looking at Olaf) or sign here.

Dropped on by for a look. Found Olaf. But no log. Hmmmm. Maybe it's dropped down one of those crevices.
3rd time searching but I have finally given up. Due to past logs appears to have gone missing.
I was also unable to find the cache, but found Olaf after some time. Maybe the cache has been moved?
Looked around for quite a while. Found an Olaf, but no cache I must be missing something. This is a great underpass! Be back for another go soon.
Thanks!
Thanks!
Needed a nudge from the CO to find this one. I had looked in the area where it was, but it appeared to have crept up a little further than ground-level (well over my head). And its companion too. After messaging CO, I placed both back at ground level ready to be found again. TFTC TE.
