We went to this cache with stale information, and spent a bit of time searching, to no avail (of course!). But it is a great spot. We watched about a half a dozen planes go overhead - very spectacular as there was a strong side wind, so they were all drifting sidewards as they made their final approaches.
This is a spot worthy of a cache (although I am glad I don't live there!). A new hide should be attempted (even if it not as sneaky a hide as the usual Freddo).
Thanks for bringing me here, Robmc.

Yes, with claumphing-four, we di an extensive search hust short of disassembling the structure! Our confidence is now restored knowing that it wasn't actually there anyway!
Went searching at night with friend Mustard Keen As, but after a long search using the light of an iPod and PDA came up empty handed. Wandered off thinking "Damn Freddo".
But checking in the morning discovered theUmp had archived it, so I guess it isn't a DNF for us
Cheers

Kiwi Cache Raid: A few very nice looking muggles jogging by. Perhaps these distractions were enough to put us off our game? Had our storey all prepared in case the nosey neighbour appeared. ""We were a team of NZ scientists looking for the Adelaide Funnel Web colony that has been reported in the area"",,,,,,,,,
Looked all over for this one, had to stop a couple fo times to let muggles pass. No sign of the lady watching for us, but also no sign of the cache.
Had a reasonable look for it but no sign of the cache.
Another DNF during our 24 hour record attempt.

Well we didn't find it, but not logging as a DNF as the lady that lives next door interrupted our investigations.
She actually came to the bridge enquiring if anything was wrong with it. Geo hubby quick as a flash said he was an Entomologist looking for spiders in the new structure. He had her convinced until he told her it was funnel webs he was looking for. She told him we wouldn't find any in SA but that there were plenty of red backs around. She was determined to keep us chatting about the new bridge and the overpassing planes, so we took some photos and left.

This is an amazing place at the right times. Found the cache and logged quickly- just in time as it turned out to witness the amazing time. How do people live their lives aorund this place? TNLN
Fourth of forty-three cache finds for the day in the company of dak’s Emu Mob, the cache was Found at 11:55. This one took us a few minutes to locate after my ear drums were popped by a jet going over head. Thanks Freddo for the cache.

Had a jet rattle the car, just as we were pulling up - really changed the way we looked at this cache!
While searching, noticed all the landing lights in people's back yards.
Glad we don't live here with all that noise and light - no wonder people complain. [xx(][xx(]
Took a while to find this, but great new surroundings - should last a couple of decades longer now. [^]

Thanks for the experience Freddo.

The old location is well and truly gone. They are still working on the massive new installation so it will be a little while before the cache is replaced. Stay tuned for further details.
There is a brand new way to cross the sound barrier that has been put in place in the last week by the look of it. Couldn't find any cache. Are we blind or has it disappeared with all the renovations?
Had to look between muggles out walking to find it. Great views of the underbellies of the big birds as they flew over gave the boys a thrill.
a little scrambling but found OK. The key to success is perserverence? Felt like tickling the underbelly of the big birds flying over... TNLNSL TFTC

No trouble with this one at 7.15am. No muggles but just a bit too much water in the drain for my liking. Thanks Freddo.
team Flipper&co (A) at 3-15pm
went to find this cache today, mmmm after nearly getting my hair parted by a departing JETSTAR flight we spent 25 minutes looking high and low for this cache, only to come to the conclussion that it may have sneaked aboard a flight to a warmer climate.
Can you please check to see if it is still in place as it hasn't been found for nearly 6 weeks
GR8 spot to take pics of landing aircraft.
thanks

1st for the day.
A quick dash around adelaide after work, to pickup a few outstanding caches before I have to return to Melbourne.
I told you I'd be back.
After an extensive reading of all previous logs, I had an epifany. Went back and sure enough there it was!!!
Had no keys, so...

After a quick search cache was safely in hand. Interesting wind effects and noises around after a plane went over. TNLNSL
Had to avoid a few dog-walking muggles, but after searching for a little and admiring the incredible view of the planes as they went so closely overhead, had this cache in hand and signed the log. TNLN.
Found it with Fore! and geo-family on an afternoon of hunting. Wondered about the naming until the geofamily pointed out the local 'lighting' and what purpose they served. Nice neat container and a strong hide.

This was the 24th of 29 successful finds for caches in Adelaide that Shadow! and I (from the ACT) tackled over 4 days whilst visiting my family. What a great excuse to go caching in a new environment!
Found this one at 3:10pm with my geomuggle parents. Saw the fantastic lights but didn't encounter a plane.

Great spot! Found at about midday with MissDfy. Just as we pulled up in the car a place went over head, totally unexpectedly loud but awesome!
Left a old fashion round key, took ford key.
House prices must be cheap around here. Swapped keys, also left a few pieces of paper as book is full. TFTC
Found this one w/ little Emzee after he insisted we leave home at 7 am for a 8:50 filght to Melbourne. Had more difficulty convincing him not to take anything than we had finding it. TNLNSL TFTC!
Nice hide. Great place for plane watching - 4 in 15 minutes (see immages). Didn't have a key, but left an old Chinese coin with a hole in it. Best effort at a keyhole.
A few cyclist muggles using the footbridge over the culvert. Enjoyed the find - thanks Freddo.

Found 13:05. Second attempt at this one, last time couldn't search as a courting couple were vigourously gaurding the area . Retrieved today between emergency call-ins for work, with one hand on the cache my phone rang requesting my services back at work for another patient having a heart attack. Very quickly signed log, returned cache. Nearly broke the Speed barrier, if not the Sound barrier, back into work in record time . TNLNSL. TFTC.

Set out after work with Mrs while homework was being done. You'll need eyes in the back of your head to keep a lookout for muggles here. Took a little key, left an allen key. TFTC Freddo.
Funny little spot this, it feels as though the neighbours are watching, had to waite untill the phone book fella went down the street..
Put the cache back in location when a low flying virgin went overhead and made quite a racket..

#2 - our second in Adelaide and our second Freddo!
We were a little perplexed when we pulled up and it took us a little while before we extended our search.
I hope this isn't giving too much away but in Qld, a terrain rating of one indicates wheelchair accessible... it would be some wheelchair that could get you to this one!
I did bring a MIL key with me but i think it is burined deep in the luggage, or perhaps back in Sunny Qld ?! On this account, we took nothing and left nothing.
Thanks to Freddo for the cache.

On my third trip back to this one I finally found it with some help from Da Frizz. Nice hide. Left key TN.
A good hiding spot and we were thankful that it was not too rainy. No keys to swap so just signed the log.
Today was the 06/06/06 and I was born on 06/02/66. That's enough 6ers. Took a key, then put it back, does that count?

Returned a second time today to locate cache as first visit was flooded out... Took old key Left new key as planned and SL.
Found with Christos. I could imagine that this location would be quite noisey at times.
Good thing it hadn't been raining recently, otherwise we would have got very wet feet during our search. Might not be the easiest way of getting to the cache (certainly not a 1 star terrain!), but it worked.
And we needed all our keys to get home, so it was TNLN.

A spectacular location, very exciting to see these vast birds screaming overhead. Looked in a few different places before spotting the tin. Retrieval was easy, but was a bit nervous replacing. TNLNSL. Thanks Freddo.
Found after a quick search and it was well hidden. We had the good fortune to have 4 planes fly over 3 large and they definately left an inpact on the young kids with us..

A quick find but no swaps. We were impressed as a plane came over with the rumbling lasting for ages and seemingly coming from all around and above long after it had gone. Then there was a cool crackling sound and a vortex hit a nearby tree with impressive results.
At 16.25h, it was all quiet above and lights out. Took - a Key. Left - a Key. TFTC
Finally, after so many tries at this, when the cache was missing, this time it was there.

Ok Ok it took a lil longer than I thought. Then I could see it but not get it, then I could get it without seeing it! A great hide, not too hard, I just made it hard going back and forth over the bridge looking for the troll! Guess I could blame the gps for putting me in the middle!!

Oh no, I've lost my keys... (so I couldn't make a swap). I don't know how the people around here could stand living where they do.
The signal and aviation museum just nearby is very interesting and well worth a visit if you're around on a Sunday.

Shrek was in the area when he saw this cache on the GPSr. Checked hints/logs on PDA and still couldnt find it. Saw the spotlights for the air traffic approaches to the airport. But just couldnt find it. Thought it may be in area under the lights, but wasnt comfortable entering private property with all the neighbours out. Also thought it may be UNDER the bridge, but again, didnt feel right about climbing over fences etc to have a look. So no luck on this occasion.
Was my second attempt but as i wasn't on my way home from work this time i think it helped without the tie!

left a key and took another that might fit one of me triumphs. (early triumph cars used 'fs' series keys and there was one in there!)
there was no tape on the cache but it was snug and dry.

After reaching the GZ the task was to find this cache before being spotted by muggles above. So after flight 55 went past we got down to the task of searching.
The cache was eventually found after an exhaustive search up and down.

Stopped in on the way to work and can say that it is there. Not the same as the original but it is there.
Must be really missing something here. had a good look around again, and still nothing!!!
Muggle activity was starting to increase, and my chances of it seemed to be dcreasing, so a DNF results.
