33,575. Found during our Queensland Outback GeoMuster (QOGM) 2023 Longreach Adventure - a 33 day epic tour of Northern NSW and Outback Queensland finding many caches, attending great events and catching up with awesome Cachers along the way.Queensland Outback GeoMuster (QOGM) 2023 Longreach Adventure Day 29. Today we packed up, did our best to clean out Roma (I had plenty to find as when I came through here last year I only stopped for lunch and 1 cache), then continued East to Chinchilla. We still had 5 days and lots of caches to go on this trip. This was the next one on the list. Quickly found once at GZ. Signed as F65 and A33 as required. Replaced the cache as found, then we continued on our journey. Thanks to all the COs who put out these caches !!
QOGM 2023 Longreach Day 29. Traveling from Roma to Chinchilla via Miles. Fitzy_1965 and Albida33 are on our trip in early spring to Longreach. The journey home is well under way and today was a morning caching around Roma before heading east to get to Chinchilla and find an area of caches we have not been to recently. There were several caches along the way and even one old one that was an interesting walk in the searing sun. We had a quiet afternoon in town recharging for the last few days to get home. Thanks for the cache chook196844567.12 TNLNVisited: World Traveling Gold GC A#6 & 2011 Compass Rose Midnight Sun A#210**Albida**

We are now heading north to avoid the coldest of the winter weather in Victoria. Today we headed off from Chinchilla and onto Miles, where we will stay for the night. A great opportunity to grab some around the area. Different and challenging hides.
Stopped off here and picked my way to GZ, only to find a much easier way out. Made a quick find but the lid is cracked.
Thanks chook1968 for placing this cache and doing the maintenance, so we can enjoy finding it.

This extended/long weekend across Anzac Day, it was an outback adventure to Charleville and Carnarvon Gorge. Departing Thursday afternoon, I stopped in Roma before continuing west through Mitchell and Morven and completing various puzzles and power trails. I then caught up with a small group to hike Carnarvon Gorge on Sunday and Monday, and then after having a final night in Roma, returned on Monday.
Today, it was time to head home from my weekend away from Roma to home. It was an opportunity to find a few remaining geocaches along the highway, and after visiting a few Chinchilla geocaches including the memorable cactoblastis monument [Mr Cole Snr, The Shanti & Prickly Pear](https://coord.info/GC8EW84), I opted to detour through Cecil Plains after going through Dalby, and then returned east via Toowoomba. Who would have thought that regular geocache stopping would add so much time to the normal 5.5 hr drive? With deteriorating weather in the late afternoon, it was time to then make the beeline home whilst getting a sneaky rain car wash along the way.
Rather than parking just off the highway, I approached this geocache from behind, and hence the geocache's name became quite apparent. It was fairly overgrown as I walked towards GZ, and after a few minutes of searching around, I spotted the relevant hinted item. Unfortunately, the container lid is cracked, and the logbook appears to be water damaged, although it was dry today. A CO maintenance visit may be required here soon; Thanks chook1968 for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

After Karicka’s Moveable Feast Event in Roma this morning, the group has gone in different directions and I’m now in the back seat of Karicka’s very angry ute with him and Davinells up front…
After stomping through the long grass it didn’t take long to narrow down the hiding spot of the container… this container has seen better days…
Thanks chook1968

Cache lid is broken and will let in water. We tried to turn it in such a way so it wouldn't let in too much water, but the next cacher may not be that careful
On the road home now and as it is just triple turmoil and myself driving back we really do not have a lot of caches to grab. From Charleville to Roma now I have no caches to grab which is awesome for now.
A search on the map and I found this one sitting there to be had. A drive up and an easy find, signed the log and replaced as found to continue on. Thanks for the cache and the hide.
We had some fun with this one and we found it a little damp inside.

On the way back to Brisbane from Charleville. This is a cache that I was unable to find 2 years ago when I was driving back from Emerald. Today i had Chamad with me and he also had a dnf on this. Today we were able to rectify this.
Cache container lid is cracked and log book was very wet. We were able to get our names in the log though.

Found whilst on a very non direct route to QOGM - Charleville 2022. On the hunting trail again with SeasonedBird (aka Mrs Geo, Salty Chook, the Old Boiler, Old Chook, Dirty Bird, Angry Bird & occasionally even Love Bird). It’s a great day for caching.

Heading towards Charleville today to prepare for QOGM in September/October. We don't have many caches to pick up on this route but have enough to keep us from getting bored.
Don't know about power walk but it was a heavy walk through the grasses. We chose to return via the roadway.
Log book is very wet.

Tried to come in from the back for this one but had no luck and something big moved through the long grass..... so I had one more go and came around from the highway. Better access and angle this way and soon spotted it. Signed log and replaced as found. Tftc chook1968

Homeward bound after attending the awesome QOGM2021 and we are caching on our way to Brisbane from an overnight stay in Roma. Travelling with TMZ59 and Imbunda.
We ended up turning onto the track along the power lines then realised we were moving away from it. Had to walk through the long grass to get to this one. Took a bit to locate but if we had parked on the main road, it would have been easier. SL then returned as found.

TFTC. On the way home after QOGM21. We have done many of the caches along the highway but a few trads have been published since our lady trip. Stopped along the way to beak the journey to our overnight in Chinchilla.
Might have been easier to access from the highway rather than the power trail, but we got it in the end! TFTC
Today was day 8 of 9 long days of travelling and caching for us. Long, but fun. This was the Roma to Chinchilla leg of our trip. After the corolla did too much 4wd still no tree stump in sight.
Grey nomads, after spending way too much time in Far North Queensland, now camped in Miles for two nights, means one day at least (one afternoon) caching. The caches in Miles were a bit elusive - we could not find the start of the track, so instead, we drove out of town towards Chinchilla and found six caches instead.
After a treck thru the long grass, beating off snakes, spiders, wild animals and coping with GPS jump, I finally found the elusive systema container.
I had left Mr D in the 4wd on the phone, and on my return, guess what, he was still on the phone!
Thanks chook1968 for the adventure

Heading from Miles to Chinchilla this cache was on the way. Fortunately there was a side road for parking. The cache was found after a short tramp through long wavy grass.
On my usual drive between sites, I drive past these all the time but usually in to much of a hurry to stop but today was the day. TFTC
Hi there chook1968.
We found your cache **"Powerwalk"** today.
We came to Miles as a stopping point on our way to Blackall, but as there are so many caches we've decided to stay for a few more days. Today we back tracked to pick up the caches between Chinchilla & Miles. We found 11 caches & DNF'd 0.
Thanks for placing the cache here, without geocaching as our guide we would never have found so many interesting places on our travels.
**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found the cache almost exactly where our GPS said we should be looking.
**Cache Condition:** The container & log are in good condition
Thanks for the hunt today,
Regards
Ian & Penny

Using this covid-19 isolation period to work my way through my notebooks and log geocaches & trackables that I've not yet logged. I actually found this one 29 December 2019. TFTC
Quite visible when appraoched, but there are unlikely to be too many casual passers-by here. Addedto the log, covering the cache a little better. TFTC.
On our way home slowly after the QOGM event in Blackall and finding some great geocaches along the way.
