Logs
I am archiving this cache since there's been no response from nor action by the cache owner within the time frame requested in a prior reviewer note.
Hi wascoxThis geocache was brought to my attention as being in need of an owner maintenance visit and after my previous reviewer note, there has been no cache maintenance logged. The cache owner needs to check on this cache ASAP and either replace it or archive it, after picking up any geo-litter. See the [maintenance section of the Geocache Listing Requirements/Guidelines](http://www.geocaching.com/about/guidelines.aspx#listingmaintenance).I've added this cache to my watchlist, and I will check back in four weeks to be sure that the maintenance has been done. In the meantime, I have temporarily disabled this listing. When the maintenance is completed, the owner can enable the listing by clicking on the link below the cache name to return it to active status.Whatever your intentions, please **post a note** here on the cache page (not email) to let us know that you are still active and maintaining the cache. If a month passes without seeing a response, then I'll assume that this listing should be archived. Please note, that if a cache is archived due to lack of owner maintenance, the cache is unable to be unarchived.RegardsTheCoddiwompler
First evening of a weekend in the Wairarapa and our first DNF in Martinborough. Out for an evening stroll whilst staying at the nearby Claremont Motel (highly recommended). Its now too dark to search but have aleady found 6 others this evening so a sucessful walk around this very pleasant village. TFTC.
Found, didn't have a pen to sign the log (about 10m away (west) from where the app navigates you to)...also found this...will rehide. Happy Easter
Out and about with Flowerydaze and trying to complete the Nifty Swifty series. The trip over the hill from Kapiti is a long way to come for a small amount of caches so we covered as many as we could in the time available. Found by FD as I was looking in the wrong spot, she had read the previous log regarding coords being out. TFTC wascox
Talla64 and I are on a trip over the hill from Kapiti, finishing off the Nifty Swifty series and finding a few caches - this was one of them. The comment from a previous cacher about looking 10m west from the co-ords was spot on, and the cache was a quick find. Eek! Nice little park. Thanks very much for the cache wascox, all good here.
Eeeep! Found on a girls weekend visiting Martinborough for the fair. Great hide. Tftc
TFTC - found on way home from a fantastic girls weekend away in Martinborough! Autumn leaves can make it a bit trickier!
My Dad had to do all the looking for this one, well I told him where to look. We found this after around 10 minutes nice, The spider on top crawled all over me its massive! - Isabella
Roadtripping in NZ from Finland. Today we had a wine tasting day in Martinborough and searched a couple of caches along the way. This was one of them. The GPS was a bit off but found it pretty easily. We had a worse aracnophobia cache the day before in Greytown so this one was an easy one.
Trouve ! / Found it ! Comme mentionner dans les prcdents commentaires, partez 10m l'ouest depuis le GZ pour trouver 4468me cache trouve.Merci wascox pour la cache As mentioned in previous comments, go 10m west from the GZ to find 4468th cache found.Thank you wascox for the cache
Took a while to find as GPS is quite a way off. One we expanded the search we had the cache in hand. Thanks
#633Coordinates were a fair bit off so this one took a while to locate. Not a cache for the faint hearted!
GPS was about 20 metres off, spent a fair amount of time searching the wrong place until reading past comments and expanding the search. From there a very quick find
My turn to not be afraid here, I dont mind creepy crawlies, and soon had the cache I hand. We hope to have a full day caching in the Wairarapa, so will see how it goes and where we will end up. We are hunting down old Skindo caches and a few ones that have been placed. Onward for a voyage of discovery of the back roads in the rapa today. A glorious day it has turned out, and the roads all good, considering lots of gravel roads. Ind way to ensure my car gets a through wash when we get back home.
On a weekend away in NZ. Our GPS had us in the wrong spot so this one took some hunting around. (Too the left of where the GZ said it was.)
That was a bit tricky, and on a windy morning with lots of dogs coming over to check us out !But hunting low we made the findTFTC
Took a while to find but got there after reading back over some old posts. Freat hide, no arachnophobia here
A day in the Wairarapa today beginning in Featherston, then onto Martinborough, over to Carterton and behind then down to Greytown for the night. 18 Ad labs, 22 trads, 22 mystery and 1 multi, 4 muggled out so didn't look and only one DNF.
Looking at twigs note I spread my looking distance and quickly spotted what I needed. Thanks for the cache.

Quick find. Introduces our friends C and R. R found it! Her first ever find! Tftc.
Well this was a most unusual start to my weekend. I had joked with a friend last night that for the first time in as long as I can remember, I didn't have anything on for a Saturday until the evening. I really should have known better lol!
But at least I had a gentle start to my day, and had had breakfast and 2 coffees by the time my phone went ping. Hmmmm, 2 new caches in the Wairarapa? I have plans for April, and these would help me nicely, so within 10 minutes I was ready and stepping out the door.
Having already claimed the FTF on both new caches, I ended up driving over to Martinborough to see if I could avenge my previous DNF on this cache? Luckily there was nobody around to worry about whilst I conducted my search.
My GPS still brought me back to the same place I had searched before, and after 5 minutes I still was scratching my head. So I looked around a wider area and soon spotted a good candidate for a cache, and sure enough there it was. For the record, I show GZ as being 10-11m away from where I found the cache. No big deal, but if anyone is struggling then head due west from the posted co-ords.
Glad to have found this one, and turned the icon from blue to yellow

a clouy but nice caching, biking and wine-tasting tour around town, best greetings from Austria
Previous logs say an oak tree or a kōwhai. I think it's a ngaio. Not so sure about the arachnid; maybe Uliodon genus!? Thanks wascox
There is a fence, kowhai and stone nearby. The knarly tree is not a kowhai. Took me about 10 minutes to find. Thanks.

Well, we thought we would attempt this one again, whilst we were passing through the area. A super quick find this time, having read the previous logs and determind that the co-ords were off. TFTC

Coordinates a bit out but previous logs helped us find the cache. Was expecting a much bigger speciman!! TFTC
Found this nice and early on a Saturday morning while staying next door at the Top 10. Nice quick find using previous logs - the container was no surprise! All good - TFTC.
Was definitely a scarier one to find! Loved it! Was not at ground zero but activity log helped us out, great find
Attempted a couple days ago in the evening with no luck, during the day today was much easier!! Great creepy nook, TFTC
Had to wait out a couple of muggles deep in conversation sitting on the nearby park bench. My coords seemed to be off and swinging a little, finally found the cool wee cache cleverly tucked 9-12m away from ground zero. A fav for sure. TFTC.
Finally found it with the help of other activity. About 14m off gz according to my phone
Woah, let out a little shriek when eventually located. Great cache and great hiding spot. Previous clues helpful!
Not under an oak tree. Try the knarly kowhai near fence and memorial stone. Taradale59
Log 15 comments where no help hint was weak if you wanna find it is under the old oak #disappointed
Had a good hunt in a few likely spots but no luck today. Will return again soon and bring some extra pairs of eyes with me.
Didn't feel confident after so many DNF. Took a while, but success!! We did get the heebie jeebies. Did not sign
I hate spiders! The gps was all over the place but found the right hidey hole eventually and got my girlfriend to fish it out . Great hide.
Day 1 Cache 26 of my mad mission to the Wairarapa for the 100-10-7 Challenge. Wet and rainy day today but cachers must carry on. The lovely Ethness has joined me as driver for the day. We stopped here and after a while Ethness wondered what was taking me so long. By now I had widened the search from my pick of GZ. Finally went back to GZ and found on the ground. Had a guess on where to restore. TFTC wascox.
Wandering in Wairarapa between Easter and Anzac day. Started at Cape Palliser and ended up in Martinborough. Found several hides along my way. This hide was one of them.
Found it a little after my check in at the campsite. GPS pointed me to another tree at the beginning... Nice one. TFTC

Thought I might have found where it should be but there were too many spiderwebs for my liking
Waitangi weekend, and the heavens have conspired to pour a winter month's worth of rain on us over 48 hours, which put the mockers on my plans to tramp Totara Flats. But here we are on Monday, and whilst the rain hasn't entirely gone away it is at least light enough not to be so much of a nuisance whilst out caching. The Seagnoid and I have decided to have another raid over the Rimutakas into Skindo-land, targeting a long gravel road that neither of us have travelled along before. There are a lot of archived caches along here, most of which would be lonely caches too...
This cache is one that I've wanted to find on previous visits to Martinborough, but there has usually been loads of Muggles around so didn't attempt it before now. The Seagnoid has found it previously, albeit some time ago, so I was hopeful of finding it today but no.
I did find an odd looking hole in a place you wouldn't expect to find a hole. I will send a photo of this to the CO to see if I was looking in the right place...
We happened to be passing by this cache, so it was worth checking out in spite of the last few log entries...but I have to add another DNF to the list.

On a day trip to Martinborough, grabbing a few quickies while Mumma muggle browsed the shops. Great cache container! Favourite point from us.
Thanks!
Thanks!
We had an amazing day yesterday walking up and around the Putangirua Pinnacles and then down to Cape Palliser, so today we had a quieter day driving round to pick up a few caches and then moseying on to Featherston, picking up a few caches on the way. Found it a little difficult to pick this one up - had to double check it with my pen first!! TFTC
First physical cache in a day trip to Martinborough.
Coordinates a bit out and GPS was wanting me to trespass in the neighbouring property (which I didn't.)
Found after a bit of a search: camo is very effective.
I am OK with small
non-venomous spiders but I don't like the big black ones!
Some people have reported a spider taking up residence in the hidey-hole of one of my caches!
TFTC.

Forgot to mention log is full. People have been squeezing their names in in small spaces but there isn't much room to do that any more.
