I managed to knock off work early so I had a bit of spare time to grab a few caches on my way home. An enjoyable walk through Cobblers Creek. Once at GZ I search up, down and all around but just couldnt spot it. I was on my second lap when I just happened to look in the right direction and on the right angle. Retrieval was difficult due to the growth of the nearby tree. A bit of contortion and I could just reach it with my finger tips. Container is slightly damaged with cracks but its location should keep it dry. Thank you -BlackSheep-, for placing Four of a Kind - Ace of Spades for the geocaching community.# # SmileSmile #15191 SmileSmile # #

Tftc. Very cool rock formation.

So sad! Came so far and searched for so long, and no where to be seen. So many hidey holes

Toughy one! Will have to try again different day! Gonna get dark soon

This took some ducking to get to.

Good little find

28-Apr-22
This find is 3 out of 4 in the series. Will get to the last remaining one soon.

Nice walk up to GZ, had a bit of a search, but lots of hidey spots

GeoK9 on the hunt with me.

Read some other log entries, which gave a few hints

Soon enough, cache container in hand, log signed.

Awesome hide. Took a second try and found it this time. (A) TFTF TNSL

Contents of the container seemed damp.

28-Nov-20
Wet mush needs fixing.
This cache was easily accessed but the search took a long time. I started high and worked my way down looking in the obvious spots and then the not so obvious till I managed to move the right rock and there it was. As the log book is unsignable attached photo of myself near GZ

Today I decided to go for a couple of kilometre walk around cobbler creek to collect the few caches I had left in the area that I had previously missed. Still walked away with 2 left in the area but will find them another day. All in total 12 caches for the morning.

Thanks for the cache

Not having any luck with this one. Had a good look, but no success. There are so many hiding spots. Better luck next time. [A].

09-Jul-20
Will attempt again once I’m not so tired. My bad fitness level has gotten the better of me. Lol.

18-Jun-20
What a cool spot. So glad that there is a cache there, but there are so many possible hiding spots. I had visited GZ a few weeks ago, but ran out of daylight before the cache was located, so returned today and found the hiding spot almost straight away. Unfortunately, the log book was wet which made signing the log difficult, so took a photo as proof of the find.
I was treated to an amazing sunset, so walked back up the hill to enjoy the spectacle. Thanks for this series, it has led me to some interesting and out if the way spots in Cobblers.

Wow definitely a hike approaching from the bottom. After searching high and low I resorted to crawling around on my hands and knees which quickly showed the cache tftc

16-Jul-19
An excellent hide. Caught a glimpse then it was a difficult stretch. A good challenge. TFTC.

06-Jul-19
The forecast for the coming week is cold…and probably wet as well. However with today’s mid-winter temperature being a balmy 23, it was a no brainer to go caching. The target area today was Cobbler Creek Conservation Park and a total of 13 caches were found consisting of 1 multi, 4 trads and 8 mystery caches. All up 8 BFE caches were retrieved…some of which had been solved recently and some a long time ago.

This required a real scramble before it was aced...unfortunately as soon it was found I banged my head on the ledge, such was my lapse in concentration. TFTC

21-Jun-19
Today I ventured out with FeatherWaite and Bob From Elsewhere on a winter solstice safari to the northern suburbs.

This was one of our main targets for the day as we sought to avenge our DNF here from a couple of years ago. This time we came armed with some advice from a previous finder and managed to locate the elusive container after a short search.

Thanks -BlackSheep- for the cache.

19-Jun-19
A quick find thanks to the knowledge of a previous finder.

Thanks for the cache BlackSheep.

19-Jun-19
Well after another unplanned attempt with a previous finder we can happily report that the cache IS there. It certainly isn't an easy cache to find but it IS in good condition with the original log book still very servicable. Thanks for the cache and placement Four of a Kind - Ace of Spades , -BlackSheep-

19-Jun-19
Well we have confirmation it is there.

The cache appears to be in need of owner intervention.

I am temporarily disabling it, to give the owner an opportunity to check on the cache, and take whatever action is necessary.

Please respond to this situation in a timely manner (i.e., within 28 days) to prevent the cache from being archived for non-responsiveness.

If you require more time please be sure to post a note (not an email) explaining the situation and how much more time you require.

For ongoing issues please ensure you visit the listing and post a new note every 28 days to keep everyone up to date or the cache will be treated as an abandoned cache and archived without further notice.

03-May-19
With no finds for over a year this may need checking. As the Owner has not been on the site for nearly 12 months they may no longer be active.

25-Apr-19
A second walk around Cobblers Creek reserve with the Muggle Sister, Nephew and Daughter with the Geo pooches in tow.

With the GeoDaughter helping with the search we still had no luck. Turning over every rock and searching every crevice we could, no cache was to be found.

Decision made to put this on the watchlist and try again when either it is found by another or the Owner has confirmed that it is still there, preferably the latter.

19-Apr-19
A walk around this area with the Muggle Sister and Nephew. They were not interested in searching for hidden boxes, just a walk with the dogs so the Adder himself was again left searching for this elusive hide. No luck again even with a PAF to a previous finder who gave us a clue as to where we should be looking. With the Muggles getting bored and a bit of lost blood the search was again abandoned.

Placed on our watchlist we will return. We are not going to let this one beat us!!!

Oh bugger !!
This cache didin't suit me at all Red Face
I spent a goodly thirty minutes scrambling around looking for caching gold,
even after dragging the pushbike up the steep slope from the creek Razz

Maybe next time Smile

11-Jun-18
Hunted for a good hour or so... read every single log and overturned every rock.... unfortunately still ended up leaving with our tail between our legs. Little worried the cache may no longer be here ? hopefully someone else can find it soon so we can come back and tick off this beautiful location!

Mr emily and our son enjoyed this walk thankyou

As I'm now 3 months behind in my logging I am desperately trying to catch up and am mass logging to do so. Red Face

I was back in Adelaide for a very short time after Christmas and before returning to Vic to work on 2nd January Smile
Today Moneydork dragged me kicking and screaming RazzWink out in the kayaks to get some caches Cool
The day's total for me was 9 Smile caches all up and 4 of those were kayak caches Cool[^]
We finished the day clambering around in Cobbler Creek Recreation Park at about 11.30pm and I couldn't help but remember my huge day out even about 6 weeks later as my shins were still feeling the impact of the sunburn after the hours on the water Red FaceSurprised

Finally got in here to do some of these caches and look, there's a name I haven't heard for a while SurprisedRazz
Hi BlackSheep Smile
Nice moonlit walk up and down on a lovely clear and cooler than today night Cool[^]
I made a PAF via SMS at 00:07 and got the response of 'If you there now. You crazy!' SurprisedSurprised
I'm not crazy at all Razz, I had someone with me and Moneydork even found the cache after I rang the PAF and got some slight adjustments to our search area.

Wow what a mission found at night

01-Sep-17
As I was with a previous finder, I was pretty sure we would conclude this baby was gone. Even though I was just behind Hurtle, I arrived at GZ and he stood back. After about 30s I kinda gave up - I knew he knew where it was so I know I was having a man's look. He showed me where it was and I'd say I would have been walking away with my tail between my legs - thanks for showing me this mate. Yore the man!

Thanks to -BlackSheep- and *clear skies* from TeamAstro. Cache the planet!

02-Jun-17
Spent a pleasant day in the area with BFE and Featherwaite finding a few caches, including the others in this series. However, despite what we thought was a very thorough search, this one eluded us.

14-Mar-17
Woo Hoo, another Pi day. [^] And a full day it was. Start at Freddo's Pi breakfast event, cache all day until BFE's Pi dinner event, Cache a little bit more and then head home stopping only for a couple of more caches. Cool At the Pi breakfast event I teamed up with AnyMules, had a trip south, I called in to the dentist, we moved a car to the dinner event and then picked up S.A. Sewer Rat and set out to cache until the dinner event. Razz
We came and were unsuccessful at at nearby field puzzle. So we went for a little walk in the blazing sun before having another go. I think I search every nook and cranny of this rocky outcrop. Nada. I turned over every stone still nothing. meanwhile Rat and Mule were having similar lack of success. The sun was hot, the rocks were hot, the water was running low. Twisted
Checked a few logs and in the end used a PAF to narrow the search area. It was suggest we were searching way too high. Adjusting the search area paid off and I soon saw the cache but only when I had got below its hiding spot. from above it was invisible. Smile Thanks -Blacksheep- [:d]

14-Mar-17
It was while Mrs SA Sewer Rats, Anymules and Brisal5, on an exhausting walk hot walk in Cobblers Creek.
We picked up a few caches while in the area.
This one had eluded Mrs Rat the last time here.
With three sets of eyes we searched, searched and searched.
Brisal5 decided to paf.
After a hint and a bit more searching Brisal5 found the cache.TFTC

14-Mar-17
It was Pi Day and an outing was planned with SA Sewer Rats and Brisal5 between events. There was a cache we specifically targeted for the day in this park, so decided to get a few others while we were here. A quite warm today, and after a slog through the park via a few other caches, we were all feeling a bit weary. Then we made it to this one and we're even more tired just looking at it.

We climbed up and down and up and around and back down and up again and to the lady and the right and the top again and still couldn't find what we were looking for (but did find the fork mentioned by Hurtle). All in the blazing heat and running low on water. Eventually Brisal5 thought to send out a SOS PAF and given a better idea of where to search. We readjusted our search area and Brisal5 soon came up with the goods.

After signing our names, we scampered for the closest shady tree where we all had a rest and a drink for a few minutes before attempting the climb back up the hill towards the next cache.

Thanks for the cache -BlackSheep-. Found on 14 Mar 2017 at 3:11 pm. Find #4085.

We are out for a lovely walk this morning and convinced the others to 'pop over' and find a cache. Many puffs later the cache was in hand and we were enjoying the great location. Thanks for increasing the exercise this morning and for the hunt Smile

Found on a pre season warm up hike around the local area. Thanks

Continued our walk to this one. A nice spot to sit and contemplate. Took a little while to spot the elusive cache, but spot it we did, but not before we found a fork not a spade! Smile

I had planned to do some caching across town, but decided to do some closer to home. "Four of a Kind" seemed like a decent challenge, so I parked the car in a central location and set off.

The Ace of Clubs was the first stop and I began my searching at a likely spot, but the GPS said another 6m to go so I circled around a bit. After a while the needle settled down and I returned to my starting point and found it in a tetris-inspired construction. One down.

The next stop was the Ace of Spades. This turned out to be more of a challenge with more rocks than you can poke a stick at. Thanks to spot on co-ords, I zeroed in and found it from above. That’s two out of four.

Over the valley and up the twisting bike trail led me to the Ace of Hearts. This was an easy find as this one stood out from the bare rocks around it. Three down one to go.

The last card was on the other side of the main road, so I followed the tracks around and hoofed it over the road. Following the narrow trails, I quickly got to GZ and after a bit of searching found the right nook to grab the last card – the Ace of Diamonds.

The round trip was about 6km and a couple of hours allowing for some detours. Just the right distance for casual afternoon hike.

Thanks for the caches,-BlackSheep-

Yes definitely coming at these caches mostly from the more difficult direction! Lots of wattle and a few birds to keep us company

Out for a cache walk with Purrfick Di.
Quite a climb from the creek below, but
worth it for the views. Had to prowl around
like a billy goat for a while, but followed the
previous finders and persistence paid off.
A well stashed cache, challenging but not impossible,
in good condition . Signed and replaced as found.
Thanks for the cache Blacksheep
(Fav for the views!)

After searching high and low, in every nook and cranny we ended up with empty hands, even with a previous post looking in one place, turning the head and seeing it did not help Sad Maybe another try next time we are in that area.

03-Apr-15
This was a DNF for us today. After an extensive search still no cache.
Will have to return another day.

06-Mar-15
Wow, just wow :c) such an amazing place... thanks for showing us this area BlackSheep :c) After retrieving the cache and signing the log, we sat for a while and took in the peaceful view. There is definitely something about this spot... we are going to give it a fav point ;c) picked up TB. TFTC!!

A nice little stroll in the middle of January (can't remember too many nice cool days like this in Jan last time we were here). Climbed up and began to look. Mr TiedyeSmileys went straight to the big rocks further up while Mrs TiedyeSmileys started from the bottom. Lucky she did as she soon spotted the cache from her angle. Even when Mr TiedyeSmileys was standing right on top of the cache (under direction from Mrs TiedyeSmileys) he still couldn't spot the cache from his angle. Enjoyed the view and signed the log and headed back down. Had a brief look at the hint out of interest and wouldn't have been much help as this was our first found.

I took our dog Ozzie for the walk to find the cache. I let him off the lead for the whole trip there and back. He had a ball and even found a stumpy tail lizard to check out. I took a while at GZ to find the cache while Ozzie found a bit of shade to rest. I found an item of a bygone era at GZ so attached photo. Thanks BlackSheep for another enjoyable cache.

With the temperature in the mid 20s and the sun shining, I had a choice to make! Should I get on with replacing some floor tiles in the bathroom or go geocaching? Tough choice. Well, not really! We are lucky to live overlooking Cobbler Creek so I could leave the car behind and go on a pleasant 2 hour walk. This was a great spot for a cache with fantastic views and an enjoyable scramble around GZ. I didn't encounter anything more frightening than a couple of stumpy tailed lizards and a steepish hill! Didn't have too much trouble locating the cache, but retrieving it was a different matter...not quite as flexible as I once was! Anyway, got it in the end, though I was expecting something a little bigger! Thanks for a great cache in a great spot! Have a fave. Thanks -BlackSheep-

Thought to my shelf once I got to gz how the hell am I going to find this. Lookied in one spot wasn't there and turned my head and there it was about 4 m away. Great walk except for the rocks the hills and my knee playing up. TFTC

my side kick and I, and our long time vacationer Nico's Bayern Bar (apologies to the owner photos to come) enjoyed feeling like a mountain goat making sure to watch our footing and enjoying the beauty of the day made even more beautiful by the surroundings this one had us searching and finding some creepy crawlies no slithery ones so far today thankfully taking care on the rocky crops as some of the bigger ones where less then stable even though they appeared to be we basked in the much missed and needed sunshine enjoying the sunshine we snacked and said our farewells with Nico's Bayern Bar and hope he would be picked up real soon by the next person all the while singing the ace of spades ACDC, TFTC SLTNLTB thanks for the amazing views and workout well worth the hike Smile a favourite from us

Saw this little series sitting here and it fitted in well with our love of going for a bit of a walk Cool.
Attacked these from North to South, relocating the vehicle to do these next two [8].
This was our favourite for the outlook, such big boulders to sit and watch the wildlife across the creek Cool.

Thanks for another one -BlackSheep-.

Headed out into the drizzle to claim the final cache in this series.
Like Freddo, I spotted the hiding spot from across the valley while finding 'Ace of Hearts'.
I enjoyed the hike in to GZ. Great spot for a cache! [^]

In the 2003 invasion of Iraq by a United States-led coalition, the U.S. military developed a set of playing cards to help troops identify the most-wanted members of President Saddam Hussein's government. The cards were officially named the "personality identification playing cards".
Ace of Spades: President Saddam Hussein
Not often you identify the hiding location of a cache from 400m away. Saddam Hussein's lair was pretty obvious from the other side of the valley. Just got to get there. Down, down, down, down, down, down, down, down, down. And then up, up, up, up, up, up, up, up, up. Cache found after a paf.

Beta tested for CO as he didnt have a GPS at this stage, to challenge myself i went to his coords and started searching for the cache, as i was expecting a visitor soon i resorted to ringing and getting some hints, parked on the grove way and made the walk across with the geodogs which had some fantastic scenery along the way. Thanks for the cache and next finder claims Bronze for this cache.

Am quite glad we didn't rush out for this one when it first appeared but am really surprised to get silver 6 days later [?]

Aching backs. Muddy feet. Sweaty foreheads. These are some of the souvenirs we returned with after trekking through the catastrophic Cobbler Creek. Two unfit, unaware teenagers venturing for a "nice little stroll" (as my oblivious brother said to convince me to go) came, saw and conquered. Took First to Find coin, LNSL TFTC.
