13-Jul-24
i am still in the process of fixing it and doing a few changes on it

05-Apr-24
will get up there and fix up the coordinates and see if i can move a little bit for a new spot of one of the coordiants spots.

30-Oct-23
Didn't have any luck with the first waypoint, so we went to WP 2. Found the figures, but they are almost indecipherable, so I thought that was going to be the end of it. I reread all of the comments by previous loggers, including alunb's comment. A light bulb went on and I decided to make one attempt to find the final. I was amazed to see it winking in the sun at me - there it was! Such a nice surprise, as I had virtuallly given up on it! Thanks for setting this multi up, but I recommend some rewriting of the figures at WP 2 Smile

12-Sep-23
Have had the solution for a while, and made the time to stop today.

16-Jun-23
Heading back through this way today and decided to make a slight detour to come check out this fun looking multi. Plenty of room to park the motorhome at WP1, and soon found the info here. Unfortunately as I drove down to WP2 there were a few muggles waiting at the gate, including a truck loaded with steel, no doubt heading for the nearby reinforcing business I noticed down the drive on Google maps. After backtracking to a quieter spot I took another look on Google maps, and quickly came up with a theory that matched the hint. After a short scramble at the suspected location I was soon rewarded with the find. Great to be able to tick this cache off today especially since I must have driven past many times previously, TFTC

09-Apr-23
A fun multi to do! Super cute stage 1 and stage 2 confused us a little as we couldn’t read the letters but we soon guessed and had some coords. Was good to see the cache exactly where it should of been. TFTM

28-Jan-23
This needs a review. We couldn't make head nor tail of the numbers as they were so faded at wp2. Interesting spot of history though.

24-Apr-22
WP1 has been altered due to earthworkz, please read clue.

09-Apr-22
Managed to get wp1 before the structure it was on disappeared. Wp2 is back now and final cache was found with a bit of searching. Tftc

09-Mar-22
Checked and all good to go.

09-Jan-22
Wp1 was easily located despite a muggle sitting in his car nearby. WP2 caused us grief though as we couldn't find anything and with no hint it was hard as lots of potential spots which we searched to no avail so we resorted to PAF. Cache was located after a brief search

08-Jan-22
Out for a ladies day caching with Merlot58, Supernannny and Nette1234 we detoured off the highway to collect this one. There was a muggle in his car not far from WP1, but this did not stop us finding the information we required here - the container was found on the ground, so we returned it back to where we thought it should be. We couldn't find WP2, so resorted to PAF and found ourselves driving passed the muggle in his car (He must have wondered what we were doing as we drove up and down the road!!)
Once we made our way to the final gz, we spread out and soon had the cache in hand. TFTM

08-Jan-22
As the others said we were heading down to do some Huntly caches .
Did not find wp 2 but got help from a previous finder .
Final ok thanks .

25-Jul-21
Couldn't find coordinates at WP1, found them at WP2 but are starting to fade. Maybe paint clear coat over the top of them? Gave up for now, will check back and see if it's updated.

Cool multi! Walked past the final several times

A nice quick little multi on this back road, watching the traffic whizzing by - mostly away from Auckland, which is good for us as that is where we are heading for the long weekend. No problem with the find, it didn't quite hit us in the nose but it was easy to see when in the right spot. TFTMC

25-Mar-21
Another emergency trip down to Hamilton.... I wish these operators would stop fiddling with Parameters on my machine... give them a colour touch screen and they all become experts Smile

Well good for me as this gave me the opportunity to right a wrong from last week. Once I got the hang of the workings it all made sense and the final was an easy find.

GZ has become a road work storage zone but access is still easily possible. I was lucky no work was being carried out today it may be a different case on other days.

17-Mar-21
I looked high and low... couldn't find any info at WP1...

DRAT.... just realised my mistake here. Right next time I'm in Hamilton for work I will get this cache!!!!!

12-Mar-21
Come find me done a check today all good ready to go

16-Aug-20
A fun little multi and a sneaky final. Had fun playing on the old road whilst getting the final. My GPS did not like GZ and kept locking up. Eventually got a reasonable fix but the cache was tricky to find. Checking out some other possibilities, I turned to find it 6 inches from my nose. TFTC & FP.

07-Mar-20
Tried doing this one many times it's not here and hasn't been each time I've looked and I refuse to jump the fence and investigate any further maybe making it more of an easier find would be better as this isn't easy at all it's difficulty should be higher sadly

Yes....I sure remember Speeding tickets!
Have one on my table waiting to be paid!
Was in a rush to get to Dargaville the other week!.
Oops.
Thanks for this multi....nice to have a pull over on way to Hamilton .

07-May-19
Had no problems with Wp1, but failed completely on Wp2. Thought about it for a while, and with the info I had and a careful look at the map, calculated the possibility for East and bingo, was spot on. Whoopee.

One mean day weather wise blowing and raining ..first 2 wp all good took a while to find the final as my GPS readings were out a bit...and dodging heavy showers of rain but a smilie in the end thanks eyespyben for the cache

14-Aug-18
Who in their right minds would be driving around in their motor home on a day like this??!!. Well we have an appointment in Silverdale so heading up that way and had to do this multi sewing it had recently been maintained. All good with waypoints and we headed to final. Started looking but yet a other rain squall sent us scurrying for cover. At next break we headed in to look again - slightly further away than first look. Thanks for the Multi Eyespyben

29-Jul-18
Unawere of wp1 missing, have corrected with new waypoint,
and done full maintaince on cache, happy hunting.

14-Jul-18
Looked everywhere me and miss Eva could not find it

31-May-18
Easy drive to the posted coordinates on the way back from Auckland but we then realised this was not the first point to collect information from so off we set to WP1.

WP1 gave us no joy however, it was a little over grown but we looked around any way.

As a result we didn't bother with WP2.

03-Dec-17
On a big day trip with KirsTim and yorkshirekiwi83, the goal of the day was to tackle the Eyes Have It Series, and a select few others on the route. Thanks to all the cache owners for their placements and maintenance, we really appreciate all the work into cache ownership! A great day for driving and hunting down caches, no issues or problems were had.

Our last find for the day, great to give this multi an attempt. No problems, it was all straightforward. Thanks for the hide Big Grin

02-Dec-17
Out in the Waikato with half of Vamber & Yorkshirekiwi83 to do The Eyes Have It series. Having completed the series we had time for a few more caches, even though the rain had started. Quick find at the first two waypoints, but a bit more searching required at the final, thanks

02-Dec-17
Vamber, KirsTim and myself decided to tackle some of the Waikato caches today, or rather focus on the eyes have it series and anything we came across on route. Thank you to all the cache owners for their cache placements, they are very much appreciated. It was a hot day with the threat of thunder storms (which we got on the drive home) and ended up suffering for hayfever for the first time in my life, legs attacked by long grass but this is all in the life of a cacher, we had no issues with farmers or the like.

Thought we would give it a shot and tackled some pretty large spider webs at first location, not too bad at second and then had to catch the right angle to spot this one from afar.

11-Aug-17
I went down from Auckland for a night in Taupo just for the heck of it, did some maintenance on my bungy jumping cache and another near Tongariro and whatever else caches around along the way. Now I'm heading home, I thought I might pop in here for yet another look, I see the C.O has done maintenance, maybe he has replaced the cache as well!! Well sure enough, it took me awhile, but the cache has been replaced and it has brand new paper as well. I know I looked there last time, it would have been nice if the final was checked when one of the WP's was replaced... but anyway, my 3rd time here and despite the co-ords being out about 10m all was good! Nice to put this one away.

16-Jul-17
done a check today all good still got heaps of paper

28-May-17
I was down this way again from Auckland to do some 'Eyes' mystery caches and thought I'd pop in here afterwards since I see the C.O has replaced WP2. But now after getting the correct info I proceeded to GZ and spent quite some time looking for the cache, but unfortunately it was a no go for me tonight. My head torch started going dim so had to abandon the search.

But I did find a baby hedgehog asleep near the grass, so I left him some bread right by his nose so he can eat when he wakes up.

05-May-17
all good to go now need and done a check and I have fix it all up so its all good to go

03-May-17
need to go and do a check on it some of the cords are missing

25-Apr-17
I meant to add a foto!

25-Apr-17
Found WP1 easily enough but when I got to WP 2, the cache was spread across the ground in bits, and no sign of the necessary info for the final, I gave a search of the area just in case the little buggers who found this might have chucked it somewhere. Will need replacing.

27-Sep-16
2317 Nice to have a multi which did not tax my maths. Thanks

25-Sep-16
done a check today all good drop a new log book into it

24-Sep-16
Stopped for this one on our way home from Hamilton this afternoon. Parked at the published coordinates and worked out what we needed to do. We made short work of finding the two stages and then had what we needed so headed for the final. The final was quickly spotted and log signed. Thanks for the multi, glad to have found it just before the rain set in Big Grin

18-Aug-16
Nice and dry

14-Aug-16
Nice hide still nice and dry

17-Jan-16
On a trip to Auckland with Davidson Clan to take part in a Browns Island excursion. Picked this one up while we were on the way home. Head scratching for a minute wondering what to do then I saw the additional waypoints. So the trick here is to head straight to stage 1 as there's nothing at the posted coords. Enjoyed the container, that was found quickly and in good condition. Cheers eyespyben, nice quick multi.

17-Jan-16
On a road trip with Phillip Perry we stopped here on way home we were a little confused and the posted co ordinates then Phillip noticed the additional co ordinates and we soon had the final sorted there was a speed camera vehicle parked nearby on the main highway getting a lot of revenue I'm sure.

06-Oct-15
Out and about this morning enjoying a drive in the country before work this afternoon. Of course caching enhances a good drive so I stopped to check this multi out. Parked at the given coordinates and read the cache page. Right, I see what I have to do. Found stage 2 on the ground so tucked it back were it obviously had come from after recording the details. Nice quick repeat at stage 1 and it was off to the final. Took a few minutes to spot as I was checking the wrong GZ. Moved along and spotted the cache. Cheers for the cache placement!

02-Oct-15
Maintenance done all ok

01-Sep-15
Today we headed for Hamilton with a list of caches with different combinations of D/T and size that we needed for a certain Auckland Licence challenge. This one was our first stop on the way down. The waypoints were nice and easy to find, and it wasn't long before we parked up at the Final. On approaching GZ we spotted the interesting cache container, and signed the log just in time to get backto our van before a shower of rain came down. Thanks for a nice easy multi.

12-Jul-15
I was out in the fog and ice to wait for it to warm up so that I could apply some transfers to my caravan.

No, I don't as I didn't get caught.Cool. A nice little multi with a great final.

Cheers for the cache.

05-Jul-15
done a check today all good still got heaps of papper to sign on

13-Jun-15
I didn't quite understand the stages, so I went to the posted coordinates to be certain I wasn't missing something. There weren't any cars around except for one police car about 200m behind me. Would I get a speeding ticket today? Nope, he left before I sped off to Stage 1.
I looked around for Stage 1, but didn't find anything. My GPSr had me in the middle of the road, so I checked several trees and the fence line. Finding nothing, I went to Stage 2 and spotted the cache with the numbers. I figured that this was how Stage 1 was hidden, so I returned to Stage 1 and spotted a similar container laying in the ground. Once I got the numbers, I hid it back in a similar spot and drove to the Final. After looking in a few directions, I spotted the cache. Nice container, and TFTmC.

Made a right meal of this yesterday so back driving through this morning and found it almost straight at with the torch lol

08-Feb-15
Heading home from the long weekend and stopped here. Long weekend so I guess heaps got caught tftc

19-Jan-15
Speeding tickets - what are those Wink.
Found both way points easily (couldn't remember what I'd been told earlier about final location) however thankfully remembered the extra hints on finding the cache, otherwise it would have taken me much longer to find.
It was already dusk and I wouldn't have like to have found this cache in the dark. Nice multi TFTC

06-Jan-15
Remember the numerous times we use to travel along this highway as kids, don’t recall our parents getting any speeding tickets thoughBig Grin. Now days we stop far too often to get any Speeding TicketsWink. An enjoyable multi, thanks for the trip down memory lane and for the cool cache containerCool.

No problems today, waypoints and final quickly found. Nice to tick this one off.

Have certainly had a few tickets in my time... One expensive one too.

25-Oct-14
12.10pm - This stretch of road is very familiar, travelled this section lots of times, Mobile Petrol Station (Movie Goodbye Pork Pie) the Cowboy themed eatery, nver got a speeding ticket here but did in other places. SLTFTC

19-Oct-14
I wasn't of driving age when this was bypassed but remember travelling this road many times. The new road has given me my share of speeding tickets, including one fateful trip of almost getting in a lot of trouble for excessive speeding but managed to sweet talk the copper into letting me keep a hold of my little card. On the way to Meremere for a mud race so left a little early to grab a dot day cache. Nice easy to find waypoints and soon located the final. Thanks for the hides.

09-Oct-14
Travelling home... And as is now becoming the custom, I was allowed to do one cache.

This was my choice. I vaguely remember this stretch of highway. I would have just started driving around the time this section of roadway was bypassed. I can remember our travelling game of the time was to see which side of the car had more white crosses. It didn't occur to me that lots of people died on these roads...

Anyway... Drove to the first waypoint and headed to the most obvious cache receptacle. Couldn't find it, so searched more widely. Nothing made sense, so I began to pace backward and forward, hoping that something might materialise. My passengers were giving me the hurry-up, so I decided that a PAF was needed. As I was talking, I spotted the first waypoint clue on the ground. Needless to say, I ended up getting hints for the second waypoint and the final. I replaced the first waypoint, though it's not secure and will fall out again.

The second waypoint was also found on the ground. I tried to wedge it with a twig. Don't know how long that will stay put. The final was a quick find. I could see it from the roadside. This is a cool hide, though a little removed from the cache theme. TFTC.

06-Oct-14
Certainly remember the old "Cowboys" place as this was always the meeting place when nieces and nephews used to travel to Auckland for the holidays. Sad to see the state it is in now. No traffic at all on this bit of road today and the WP's were soon located and the final soon after. TFTC

A short trip out, quickly found the 2 WP's, and a short hunt at GZ and the cache was quickly located

20-Sep-14
A short jaunt up and down the old road, I remember travelling along here when I was a kid and before this section of the expressway was built. TFTC

13-Sep-14
We decided to head north late today for some caching and made a little detour to complete this nice multi. Waypoints were quickly spotted and the final cache was something a little different. Thanks for placing it and adding some fun to our afternoon.

07-Sep-14
Had the road all to myself through out which was kinda freaky, ghostly like in fact.
Enjoyed the multi, many thanks.

28-Aug-14
Nice easy find on the way up to Auckland to go tree climbing with Kiwis69 and HKCB. TFTC

24-Aug-14
Passing by very early in the morning on our way to grab some AKL caches & were keen to grab this new multi too. No-one around which made for an easy search to pick up the required information. Great final camo too. Beautiful sunrise over the rolling mist was an added bonus - it's going to be a great day, TFTC

24-Aug-14
Heading up to Auckland for a days caching with Kiwis69 and JDM99, and thought this multi would be a great way to start the day as the sun rose over the farm land. Had attempted this one a few weeks ago but didn't read the cache page properly and started looking for something at GZ. This time around I knew what to do and soon had both WP's in hand.

A little search at GZ and very novel container was found. Thanks for the multi.

23-Aug-14
I really enjoyed the previous multi in this area, so it was nice to drop in for the new one. I can (just) remember when this was SH1, especially being in the car with my parents near WP1 in the early 80s and being forced off the road by an Oshkosh truck coming around the corner on our side of the road because he was passing another truck... Still scary 30+ years later, so it's nice to come here now and enjoy the peace and quiet. Took ages to find WP1 as container had become dislodged and was rather a distance away from its home - it would benefit from a magnet perhaps! WP2 was brilliant - not often I can grab a cache from within the car! Final container really made me laugh - clever! Thanks for this multi eyespyben, gets a favourite from me!

11-Aug-14
Following a series of meetings across the Waikato I stopped in here on the way home for a break between speeding tickets and managed this without too much difficulty while staying well under the speed limit

Thanks for the placement

07-Aug-14
Yes. I remember the ticket. It was my first and only speeding ticket, on exactly the same stretch of road. It was during the petrol crisis, around 1982, when the open road speed limit was 80 KmPH. Shall I say that at 140 KmPH, it is reasonable to say, it was a fair cop. It was a fine day with a blue sky, no traffic and I was singing to the radio. The faster the music went, the faster I went. I was in a 1300cc Ford Laser, when this crappy Honda Civic pulled along side of me and signalled me to stop. I thought "What"? Then the driver put his hat on and signalled me again. We spent the next 30 minutes talking friendly, but he still gave me the ticket. I told this story a few months ago, to find the cop was the Master of the Local Masonic Lodge. The fine was $140.00, which was about two weeks pay then. I have never been "caught" speeding since.

We found the two waypoints and final, but the second waypoint was on the ground. Future cachers, make sure you put it back firmly.

Thanks eyespyben. This gets a fav.

03-Aug-14
Took a slight detour to grab this one on our way the the Hamilton event. We drove slowly between the WPs so no tickets today, just a nice new log to record our visit TFTC.

02-Aug-14
Found with alpenmilch80 and funkymunkyzone. We were a bit perplexed at the published coordinates at the weigh station with nothing to find there, however an brilliant unintentional pun was cracked as we waited and tried to figure out what to do.

Figured we may as well check out the waypoints, and from there the required information was quickly gathered. Didn't even have to leave the car to pick up the WP2 information (although the car got a little TOO close...).

Made our way to GZ and after a brief technical gravel scramble we embarked on the final cache find. Some doubt in the coordinates was expressed however then at that point the cache quite quickly revealed itself. It was rather apt as there was an encounter in the car with something very similar only minutes before! Extracting the log confirmed we had scored a joint (FTF)! w00t!

Thanks!

Out for some cache finds after today's event in Auckland, with slieschke and alpenmilch80. We arrived at the published coordinates and were initially a bit confused as there was nothing to find there, but then we realised we had to go on further to stage 1. From there we quickly knocked off the stages and headed for GZ. Nice cache at the end and a joint FTF for our group. {FTF} 1608 Big Grin TFTC!!! Big Grin

02-Aug-14
Found this new multi together with slieschke and FMZ. Both stages were easy located and a little suprise awaited us at GZ. Thanks for the FTF.
