Find # 14617Been a while since I've been out solo for a long trip. But things change over time. And I'm living the past.So with some time off work, I've jumped the border wall to chase down some long trails in South Aussie... don't know how many I'll get. But I've got quite a few downloaded. I do have a short hit list ( of 2) caches to help with a challenge. All others are just for the Adventure and countryside views. Armed with all the necessary TOTT from tweezers and magnet grab to 6m ladder and 8m fishing pole. I believe I'm prepared for all that I'll come across. (Just had to leave the Kayak at home )Day 2. Murray Bridge to Swan Reach, via Nuriootpa to visit Geostuff.Managed to get my hit list, of 2 done today... a few others thrown in. A couple of short sharp trails and the fireman's hat.... then focused on the high Terrain "On your bike" caches west of Swan Reach...Nice quick n easy bush grab. SmileTFTC blackcat123

Mr Tardis was out for an adventure motorbike ride through the back roads and around the hills and Cambrai areas on a sunny Saturday.

A short walk in from my parking spot. It was nice and peaceful around GZ today. I found the cache in the first place I looked - don't you just love it when that happens?

Signed the log. Thanks for the cache blackcat123.

Went for a bit of a Sunday drive today. Didn't know this reserve was here! TFTC blackcat123!

10-Feb-22
Today we headed out on our as the others in our group had spectific caches to find, most of which we have already found and as we do not own a yak there was four that did not suit us.
Our plan for the day, well open the GPS and click on the nearest unfound cache and this is the pattern we followed throughout the day. We found all the caches we attempted, some were found much easier than others. We drove through and saw beautiful scenery, birds, magnificient trees, dusty roads and many many flies.

After spending the day finishing off the On Your Bike Penny Farthing I took a different way home to pick up a couple of more caches. Razz Not what I expected but a quick find. Smile

Time to get back On Your Bike...again. This time it was a Penny Farthing! Part 2:
Last week we got half way through and we hoped to finish the rest today
As usual I had spent many hours solving the jigsaws because A) I like them and B) I have the time.

Joining me once again was Blackadders and S.A. Sewer rats and as usual we were visiting all caches together and individually stamping every cache. Razz

******************************
Unfortunately the last group of people decided to move the caches around so we found our stamps in 7 logs we did a week ago even though we hadn't done those caches. They now have our stamps twice a week apart. Twisted And on the reverse side our stamps are now not in 7 caches that we visited last week and we have no idea which ones. [:(!][:(!][:(!]
*********************************

Today was fine and hot and there roads were drive without standing water so we were able to make good time between caches. [:o)][B)] Some great little free tree climbs no ladders and we found every cache. Smile Probably another day left on the trail to complete it. Surprised

Only one of the three goals from last year achieved. Twisted So once again trying and fill my calendar with multi-caches and complete loop 11 again this year. [^] For my third goal I will try and get my DNF numbers from over fifty to single digits. Cool That should keep me busy again this year! [:o)]

***Thanks blackcat123 for putting out this cache and maintaining it for our enjoyment. *** Big Grin

Today I headed up to Sedan and surrounds to get some numbers to help me reach my target of 13000 for the year. I also needed a multi for my calendar and there were plenty to choose from up here.
It was a great day for caching, blue skies and sunshine but not too hot, although I did get a sunburnt arm through the car window.
Lots of great caches and didn’t see any snakes which was great.
All up 48 finds for the day. Thanks to all the CO for their efforts really enjoyed my caching today.

Out & about with CPWanderer and Froghoppin caching for the day around Blanchetown, Brookfield & Towitta.

The showers had finished, so the rest of the day was overcast & breezy which proved to be good weather for caching.

Walked along the rocky, dry creek bed and then waded through the dry grass to approach from behind. Maybe the high road would've been a better approach? Could see my goal and soon had the cache in hand. Great tree nearby! Cache #2703.

A Visit here today, a familiar spot. Found the cache and read the log only to find that our name was already entered. One we had omitted to log when we found it with the S A Sewer rats back in March 2015. A bit uneasy approaching GZ thisntimeof the year, long grass, warm weather = slithering sticks. No snakes other that the Blackadders today though. TFTC

03-Sep-16
Very interesting story about the significant tree. In my line of work, I look at an old tree like this and imagine the benchtops and other furniture that could be harvested from it. That's a far better outlook than those who imagine all the firewood they'd get from the same tree.

Cache was a nice quick find, despite the fact that I was expecting a small coloured container at ground level.

Thanks blackcat123.

Camping at Towitta Park for the weekend. The significant tree must have seen some things in it's 300 years. It looks like a fire has been through here some time ago looking at the regrowth. TFTC blackcat123

19-Sep-15
While camping at nearby Towitta Park, we thought we would spend a couple of hours out caching. There were so many to choose from for the afternoon so we thought we would just plan a ring route to collect as many as possible.

Nice easy find and keeping a good eye out for snakes. None today thankfully

Magnificent specimen of a tree, unfortunately this one was dead. There are so many great examples of these in near by creeks, especially where we are staying
