Yay! TFTC! Came all the way from Vancouver BC to find this cache! Thanks for being part of the adventure
Day #7 of my 11 day holiday and in Akaroa for the week.
Going over the Summit Road today and a nice quick find here at a spot most people will just drive right by! TFTC

.Packed lunch and came for an adventure, enjoyed the day on this scenic drive. Love these random signs for Ritchie and Tiger they sure deserved a cache. Thanks for placing a cache here MacPacParents.

This cache raises questions and does not answer them. Or, more precisely it is the sign. What cup is he holding? Why "the" cup? Who put the sign up? Does Richie know? etc.
Kia ora! Paldies!

Easy find on way home from hiking. Was hard to get out, paper is wet! But we still were able to write on it. Thanks for hiding. Now onto the next one!
Did a quick u turn to get this one, hidden as described. Sadly no views, feel like I have been plunged into winter, its all misty and foggy, with light rain.
Thanks MacPacParents for the hide
Thanks MacPacParents for the hide
Have driven past many times but finally stopped as road was quite so quick park and grab. Thanks
Out for the day caching along the way. This was a quick find in an interesting place with no muggles about today. TFTH And just love this sign it was a great moment and a favourite point from me.
Bit of a random place for such a significant sign - well spotted MacPacMum. Enjoyed my short time here. TFTC # 17,287
Thanks MacPacFamily for the cache. It’s #1493 for us. We found your cache on 2 May 2021. Quick park’n’grab
Down from Northland for a one week trip to Christchurch to pick up some solved puzzles, challenges, unusual cache types, Jasmer grid fillers, as well as a few others in passing.
Today we were off on a trip to Akaroa and after stopping off to do an AL on the way, passed by for fish and chips. Heading back now and decided to take the scenic route. Didn't see this unusual sign until we had passed it, but backtracked a bit and soon had the cache in hand. However, it was impossible to get log out without long tweezers which I didn't have, so was unable to sign. TFTC

Starting to head our way home we saw this as we drove along the Summit Road. It had us wondering but all was obvious as we stopped and grabbed the cache. Thanks for the cache.
Driving home today after a few days in the area we decided to take a drive along the Summit Rd and we did so this cache popped - had a chance to pull across the road and soon found an interesting cache - log signed - thanks for the cache
Staying up near Summit Road and saw all the geocaches when we arrived. As the kids were in bed, I got permission to head out for a couple of hours before it got dark and find a few along the ridge.
A great spot for a cache, even if the parking wasn't as good as others along the road. I wonder who placed this here?

A quick find on a Sunday afternoon scenic drive back home after lunch at Akaroa.
Out exploring Banks Peninsula with TharntheHalken (plus muggle). Perfectly random hiding place, perfect for a cache. Easy find, FP from me. Tftc!
Funny location. Curious about the sign. Great cache. Thanks for getting us here.
Time constrictions meant that tgis was our last cache visit before heading for Christchurch. A nice quick find which added to the fun of our day. Many thanks. SL. TFTC.

During our holiday in New Zealand we have visited both the North and the South Island. We saw a lot of highlights of this beautiful country, but there is so much more to see. So many highlights, so many caches! The geocaches showed us a lot of special and interesting places. Sometimes a quick find, sometimes we had to search longer. A few DNF's, but that doesn't matter. We loved New Zealand and we hope to come back some day!
Today we have found the cache "No. 6 Richie holds the cup (Banks Peninsula)".
MacPacFamily, thanks for creating and maintaining this cache!

Mrs Rincewind is away in Napier for a few days and I had to get Rincewind Jr back to Wainui by 9am. With the rest of the day free what was I to do? Go caching of course! This was one of 37 finds for the day (& a couple of DNFs )
I'm glad I'd had to backtrack for a couple of caches down the road, it made spotting the GZ that much easier! I also spotted what looked like a typical cache hide before getting out of the car. I was wrong.
Nice "hide", easily spotted after I saw the error in my thinking.
All good with this one.

A salute to our rugby hero, Richie. Visited here just days after Richie finished the Godzone Adventure race chapter 7 (2018) where his team did very well. The man's a machine! Nice cache.
LOL!! What a delightful cache. Found with JudeE on the way home after 2 days of caching. TFTH and a Fav.

Today we had a great trip across the peninsula of Akaroa. Start/finish was Diamond Harbour, great mountain tracks, stopping again and again because of caches, photo motives, picnics or simply so. Beer in the Harbar, Akaroa Harbour, Feijoas in 4 Square, Blue Mailbox. Super bathing beach in Le Bons Bay, fantastic sunset.
In addition, our southernmost cache and the most distant cache on this tour are targeted.

A quick easy find at an interesting and amusing location, which gets a favourite from us. TFTC
Quick find on our drive along the scenic route. ReCached stayed in the car while I got out to look for the cache. Found it faster than expected, but needed tweezers to remove the lot. TFTC MacPacParents!

Last cache of the day, and I was amused by yet another funny signpost. There were quite a number of paraphernalia on the spot too. I wonder who placed them there. Anyway, the cache was easily found and signed in the last log on a fairly productive day. TFTC!
NQF @ GZ log has survived all the rain the night before last too TFTC and greetings from the UK
A very neat place for a cache, not sure why the sign is here but happy to make the find. Found with AorakiSheep
We decided to head over to the Peninsula with daughter for a bit of caching for the day. It was really windy!! In some spots, it felt like we are going to be blown away. Luckily, we were only blown away by the fun we were having!! Great day, and a big thank you to all the CO for placing and maintaining the caches along our route!!!

I hadn't had a propper big geocaching day since probably before the baby was born - somehow Bethany doesn't seem to enjoy geocaching as much as I do! It's always slower with nowhere near as many finds!! So a plan was hatched to get my fix - mum and I would go out caching, and baby would have some daddy bonding time!! Haha! However even though this plan was hatched at the beginning of the year, it's taken us till April to execute as mum is always busy!
So finally today was the day. A bit of a late start, and we had to be home before dinner, but still managed to get 46 caches! A few DNF, but heaps of kms travelled! Nice to make some steps towards clearing a little more of my closest 80km to home PQ out!
Phew, April, but wasn't much warmer than 6 deg - 8 according to the car! Plus the wind chill! I was jumping out, and was glad I brought the windbreaker with!
TFTC!!

Today we travel from Akaroa to Christchurch for what will sadly be our last night on the South Island. We have had a fantastic time on the Islands but our stay has to end. Thank you to all posers of caches on our way and we hope to be able to return to get a few more sometime in the future.
Despite the ease of the find in the end we made extremely hard work of getting the container in hand. TFTC

My mission is my first 3 day tramp on Stewart Island. The Seagnoid has Xmas off so we are off on an epic adventure with Zara around the South Island. Zara stays put at Little River, so with trusty steed Toby, the Seagnoid navigating via phone & scribe and I delegated to log blogger and driver, we are off to explore Akaroa. OK With Akaroa bagged & tagged its the summit road home.
Another stop on the way. Log knackered so left a temp waterproof log. Cheers

TaybeeDragon and I are off for a three day walk on Stewart Island. But we have a camper, so once you add in getting there and back, it's a three week trip. Day 3: Akaroa to Akaroa.
We left Zara the campervan to look after our gear while we too Toby the 4x4 into explore Akaroa. Lunchtime done, so its time to head beck, via the Summit road, of course. I must admit this is an intriguing find! The log, alas was unusable, but the dragon is in maintenance mode and this would be just one of about 40 logbooks replaced on this trip.

Looking out at all the old stumps there must have been some great trees growing here in the past. Cache was a quick find.
Mrs SoBad was in the area with her cousin and we certainly did not have time to stop for all the caches. The name on this one was intriguing enough to have us stolp - and then GZ was obvious enough for the GPS to be left in the car. Quick find, sign and on our way alond the Summit Rd.
Thanks.
Thanks.
Monday Night Mad Mission with TheWanglers.....and purdiepurdie joined in the fun. We decided to head Akaroa way to clear up a few caches......a fantastic evenings adventure that ended up getting us home in the wee small hours of Tuesday morning! Great fun. Logs signed in various shorthanded and underhanded manners depending on the mood of the evening.
After attacking a few caches in Akaroa we decided to loop up on he summit road to knock off a couple more before dropping back down to Duvauchelle and home. Coolspot. No traffic so handy as to park at GZ! Cheers.

After a nice day climbing at Otepotato we went for a short afternoon caching tour. Many thanks for this lovely box.
Out for a morning of caching in Akaroa.
A quick find in a "historic" location.

Ha ha loved this one. It had been wind affected as the boot was lying on the ground. Replaced it and the torn baggie. TFTF.
Took a circular drive out of Akaroa to take in the magnificent views of the Peninsular and had the extra bonus of so many caches placed in easy to stop parking spots to further enjoy the wonderful scenery. This was a very odd sign, and would love to know why it was placed here.
Thanks for the cache MacPacFamily.

I was off to Akaroa to sign off a few caches that were in the rural portions of the Akaroa Harbour plus a few on the way.
There are awesome views from all along Summit Rd. He does it for a second time.
Cheers for the cache.

Time for a run around all the caches prior to the Mega... well that was the idea but due to a very late start and the fading light it was only the run on the summit road to Akaroa that got checked. However Richie is still fit and well!
After having a picnic lunch with my husband we decided to go the scenic way back from Akaroa. Believe it or not there were patches of snow at the side of the road.
I wonder who put that sign there? The cache was pretty cool.

TFTC. Over to Akaroa for some R&R - slept in, had coffee, now what?? Cache of course.
So out following the Summit Rd today to see where it lead.
Drove past the sign and back tracked - oh look there - it all makes sense.
Lovely crafting of the sign and cache.
A favourite vote from me.
Thanks MacPacFamily for placing the cache.

Could not miss the location for this cache. A nice easy find as we headed to Akaroa.
As we approach to the cache I saw a tree looks like a guy giving a flower to a woman. Now I realize that same as Richie holds the cup.
All was revealed when I arrived at the cache site. This did not stop me from rummaging in the grass until I opened my eyes to the true facts.

Found it! Today we drove around Banks Peninsula visiting hill tops and hidden bays and we found a few caches along the way! This was one of them. Watch out for the nasty plant with prickles all over it!! My first caching injury! I'm glad Muggle Wen had a bandaid! TFTC SL Cheers from Pippin69 & the Travelling Muggles from Melbourne!
How did you spot such a sign. Some mad Rugby supporters around!!!! Parked quite safely but almost got blown away by the southerly. A nice little interlude. Thanks.
