Found, but unable to write into the log because it is full and has been for years. Enjoyed my visit to the museum.
6 September 2024 11:29amCame out today for a scenic helicopter flight. That was great, a very pleasant way to see Darwin. Then looked through the Aviation museum and outside to grab the cache.TFTC
Lovely find for the morning with our morning coffee. With VB2013 FYI log is full

Visited area on a recent visit to the top end. Awesome museum, and a cache handy to boot. managed to inscribe a v in on very full log. cheers from NZ.
Im back in Darwin for a week visiting family and spending a little time each day geocaching. A quick find in the obvious place at gz. Logbook is full but I managed to squeeze my name on. I have visited this interesting museum on previous visits - definitely worthwhile. Tftc
Collected this cache with Phil Serenity whilst dropping him off to look at the museum. A quick find here. Logbook full.

In Darwin with iluvtrekking after travelling from Perth. This is a revisit after eleven years and we have noticed so many great changes. Thanks for the hide.
Travelling with richlink on a trip from Perth to Darwin and return down the centre. Today, we are enjoying the sights of greater Darwin and a variety of caches along the way. Thanks corunnaroad.
We visited the museum and even though Im not into aircraft it was very interesting. The B52 was very impressive and so were the other smaller planes.

Catching up on some late logs, now that I have time while travelling.
We are on the road travelling up through central Australia and down the coast of W.A. I hope to grab a few caches along the way.
Loved visiting here with all my history. A quick find at GZ.
Thanks for placing this cache and doing the maintenance needed, so we can enjoy finding it.

We're enjoying our stay in Darwin and exploring the different locations. This is one of the caches we targeted and found. Great location fav point alloc
Found this one just before going into the aviation museum. Enjoyed looking at the smashed up mirage and the many other fantastic things nearby in the museum. My absolute favourite was checking out the landing gear of the b52 and looking at the sheer amount of fuses, wiring and hydraulics that NEED to work every time. This was my first cache today after getting off the plane. TFTC
After a great trip around half the country, up the west coast to Darwin via Kunnunura, Katherine, a amazing two weeks in Darwin, out to Jabiru and Litchfield. Down the middle to Alice Springs then on to Millicent for the Geoventure2020 (in 2021).
We then hit the road to cross the WA border before it closed due to a few cases in SA.
Now we are home with a few of the major repairs finished, it is nice to have an opportunity to catch up on logging some finds that need more information as part of the logging requirements.
A huge thank you to all the COs along our travels.

I gotta say, it's not often (if ever) you get the chance to log the same cache three times. I found the first in 2009, the second in 2011 and it clearly took me some time to secure this reincarnation. [^]
I have a story to tell about this crash and my connection to the pilot was in the seat. It goes like this...
The Pilot Officer who ejected out of this aircraft was John Paul (JP) Conlon who's name is unfortunatly spelt incorectly on the plaque. There is some history here as he was the first Mirage pilot to eject from the aircraft, before he had completed his conversion training.
Pilot Officer Conlon was a clear leader and one of the Air Forces gentlemen. He made it to SQNLDR and was assigned as the Executive Officer of 75SQN in the mid 90's. I had the pleasure of being a part of the squadron while he was in that role. JP was respected by every member of 75SQN and led by example.
He was tragically killed in the late 90's. Not through an aircraft accident though, but through his love of adventure. He was Hang Gliding in the NT and a gust of wind sent his glider back into the mountain that he had launched from. He was killed outright and although two of his fellow aviators spent 45 minutes+ conducting CPR on him in the extreme heat, he would never awake. A sad story and the loss of of a great guy.
Thanks for the memories and keeping this cache going corunnaroad. I hope this cache continues to live on for some time. Although JP's ultimate demise was not from the incident related to the aircraft at the museum, I hope this story touches people as JP touched many of us at 75SQN during his time as XO. RIP mate.

Cycling from Parmerston to Darwin and this was a pleasant spot to stop. Loved the history and a snoop around. Took a little while to locate as I missed it on the first pass. Once found log signed and all back safe again.
Thanks great spot.

This is a strange location to visit. It is not in an obvious place in the museum but fortunately there is a good news story for the pilots involved. Thanks again corunnaroad, I would probably have missed this one.

First find for the day on day 2 of the Darwin trip! The museum is next to visit! Thank you
I was in awe in the museum marvelling at all of the wonderful planes including a splendid restoration of the Mirage. I walked to GZ and it is crazy to think the restoration of the Mirage inside may have looked like this.
Great cache corunnaroad!!

Found during my half lap advanture from Adelaide to Darwin then west. I worked on this aircraft at 2OCU during my time in the RAAF. Good to see the old girl again. Requires a new log book. TFTC.
Easy find but no room in the log.
Recent logs indicate that it’s been full for about a year now.
Maintenance required.

Great spot, well worth the visit. Log is full so we couldn't sign. I would have replaced but no spares with me. CO should come and check. TFTC!
Tftc, a quick find at rush hour peak time. Thanks for hiding. Interesting spot.
Found the original cache that was here many moons ago. I was surprised to see a hide exactly the same, so it was a quick retrieval/sign in between muggles. Log's well and truly full, but managed to leave a small mark. TFTC.
Found today. I'm sure I looked there but it wasn't until geohusband got out of car and called me all sorts of names and then produced the goods that I was successful. Log full, needs replacing. Sorry I didn't have one with me. May the forth be with you. TFTC
Believe I logged this one last time we were here but not showing, anyway second time around.
