Had a big hunt around, but dnf anything today anywhere near the marked gz except rubbish.
I was so excited, when my Canberra to Melbourne bus pulled in here at 1.30am, and the driver announced that wed be here for 35 minutes, to see that there is a geocache here!Except that theres not. Well, not one that I could find. And if there is, its not 1.5/1.0. I spent ten minutes searching the logical places. Then I bought a Chiko roll and went back. I spent another fifteen minutes searching all of the logical places again, before widening my search and looking in the illogical places. Alas, my excitement at the prospect of getting my cache for the day by 2am has worn off, and Im back on the bus. *checks to see if theres a geocache at Southern Cross Station*
My 2,800th find in Australia!!!! A flag for every 100 finds . I was picked up in Glenrowan by a guy driving to Wagga Wagga, and I explained to him what caching is.
TFTC.....stopped for Hungry Jacks and decided to top off the visit with a cache.....found it quickly! Deje vu and brought back happy memories too....eight years ago stopped at the same location on a family road trip to Ballina and found it with frilk
A very overgrown seating area that quickly revealed the cache. Doubtful this one will be muggled anytime soon. Thanks
2024 hasnt been much of a Geocaching year for Heymissjo and I, but it has certainly been a year to remember!! Consequently, this is only our first physical smiley of the year (and second overall). Its rather uncharacteristic, but its what happens when countless significant life events get in the way of our preferred pursuits. The find happened like thisHeymissjo and I had run away from home (and the kids and Puppa) to join the circus (which over Easter is the Canberra Mega). As we left our worries behind with every passing kilometre, Heymissjo relaxed so much she fell asleep for a large chunk of the drive.Zzzzz zzzzz zzzzzShe wakes up with a start! We need to get a cache before we cross the border!!!Okay, quick turn off the Hume and arrive at GZ immediately. Except, Im kinda blocking a trickle of traffic determined to use that particular bit of bitumen in this vast concrete complex.HMJ hops out to begin the search under picture perfect blue skies and a warm sun.Meanwhile, I struggled to find a place to park the car (and trailer) despite being surrounded by empty spaces!! Damn those one way signs!!I do the not so logical big loop and rendezvous with my intrepid partner just in time to sign in.When I asked where the cache was, she demonstrated by putting it back in position - quite logical really!!Thanks so much for giving us a much needed dose of geo-joy. Now, its time for fresh coffee and potato cakes before we get back on the highway and make good our running away to the circus.
#1803Its been sooo long, in fact months and months since The Welder and I have found a cache..: actually its been months and months since we have got off the hamster wheel. You spin me right 'round, baby, right 'roundLike a record, baby, right 'round, 'round, 'roundYou spin me right 'round, baby, right 'roundLike a record, baby, right 'round, 'round, 'roundRound and round we go, round and round we have gone relentlessly for months without any respite, until now! I thank my past self for having a thought for my future self to be organised enough to negotiate and plan a trip with my love my not just any trip, but one nice long road trip with the first step the Mega Canberra! Having been in the car for a few hours and the Vic/ NSW border close, we knew it was time to stop for our first cache. It only seemed logical that THIS was the right one. Nice easy find at gz, clean log and a nice big smily. Thanks for the cache.
Found with hevwalker, a very busy area but we were able to be stealthy under the cover of darkness. Found after a quick look. TFTC
I found this cache with scramping on our way to the Capital GeoBash in Canberra.TFTC and the chance to stretch our legs.
Out n about with m4yb grabbing some caches. Another NQF on our way to the CGB! And another LGA off the list. Thanks for the hide & ?? ptw312
Megawat60 and I are on our way to the Capital Geobash! Happy to make this find on the way, thanks!
WAW Day 1 - Rutherglen dash with JohnoMawbs. No 2 for the day. Easy find but the weeds are taking over GZ
TEMBO! and I visited the cache "Its Logic". We found the cache, Its logic. Thanks to ptw312 for hiding and maintaining the cache.T4TC Filser1
Sydney Courier Run!Day Two: Corowa to Goulburn via Sydney. Weather: misty rain near the coast, insufficient to dampen the enthusiasm. A nice spot in what looks to be a busy service station, but presumably never gets used (or maintained) judging by all the weeds growing up through the bench seat and table. Not a hard hide. Cache in good condition. Thanks for the hide ptw312. Its officially a megaGCA1DNA The Great Leap ForwardAdelaide, South Australia February 29, 2024Wed love to have your company.
Am taking a few days to explore the northeast corner, aiming to grab 20 caches per LGA to help with a few challenges.Sitting on 19 as I left Wodonga, I really needed a tick and thankfully all came up trumps. TFTC and adventure.
Went by nightbus from Melbourne to Canberra. At 1.30 AM we made a pitstop right here and it made me so happy to be able to find this cache right out, from my Swedish opinion, in the middle of everywhere. TFTC!
Time for Mr. Lazy aka JTreeTrack2 to catch up on some logs. Sorry to the cache owners for the lag. I have enjoyed finding every cache I have found and appreciate all the effort that has gone in to placing and maintaining the caches. Hopefully I will find more caches and give a more timely and personalized logThanks again for placing the cache.
Nice quick find, although our GPS was about 5m out. Looked in the obvious spot and found it quickly.
A drive by on our way home from shopping, caching and a model railway exhibition.
A drive by on our way home from shopping, caching and a model railway exhibition.
Found with silverfox1970 and firebatman88 during our recent trip to Rutherglen for the mega event. It was a great day out walking and catching up with old caching friends. TFTC.
On a trip around the area today picking up caches with Marchwood and Agazo while we are in the area for the Rutherglen Mega. Thanks for the cache purpledreamer
This was the last day of caching for Marchwood, Kiscardi and me. While we were in the area, we found several odd caches. TFTC.
Attending the Rutherglen Event.
Out caching with Kiscardi and Agazo. Signing as KAM.
Heading from Howlong to Chiltern the indirect way.
This find was another LGA ticked off for me. We had a bit of trouble navigating around the car park and in exasperation I called stop and got out to walk.
Unfortunately this coincided with Agazo blocking someone in momentarily which was greeted with the comment “Isn’t the car park big enough?”
This picnic table doesn’t seem to get much use.

It’s MEGA time! I’m in town with hundreds of other teams to enjoy the Rutherglen Mega. Plenty on offer, plenty to do, and another great Geocaching Victoria event. This is just one of the caches added to the collection on the adventure.
We had a bit of a free day today so after the Easter egg hunt we decided to target gaps in our cache finds to date.
A quick stop here to grab this cache.
Thanks ptw312 for adding this cache to the worldwide collection for us all to enjoy.

A quick and easy find, this one was a target this week as we required a cache for a challenge cache we are yet to qualify from when we were at the Wangaratta Mega.
Exploring around Rutherglen with Wicky. She's not great on road trips, so plenty of cache stops to break things up. Thanks for placing this cache!
Cheers

I am in Rutherglen for the week leading up to the Easter Mega event. Enjoying some local food and an abundance of great caches.

This is my first trip outside New Zealand caching and enjoyed getting this cache with Team SPINZ tftc
Ok this is logic but logic also needs to be balanced out with a creative mind that can open up endless unexplored possibilities. I wonder what we used here? TFTC # 19,166
Nice easy find here. Found on our Rutherglen Mega trip, all logs signed as SPINZ (Sidewaze, Paddle Chick, Isis58 and Nanzie from NZ). TFTC

Exploring rural North East Victoria and South West New South Wales as part of the SPINZ team: Sidewaze, paddle chick, Isis58 and Nanzie from New Zealand. I’m really enjoying the landscape and seeing what goes on in this neck of the woods. All the different eucalypts, the pepper trees and other interesting plants. The colourful birds, some quite noisy and some very noisy. The many vistas - - beautiful in sunlight and shade. I loved visiting each and every cache and really appreciate the effort required to hide and maintain them. Thanks to the cache owners. Greetings from Aotearoa / New Zealand, happy caching and if you have yet to visit us across the ditch to see what we have to offer, do make sure you enter such a visit on your “to do” list.

I really wish someone had have updated that the posted coordinates have been fixed for this cache. I had read the most recent logs and the resulted in me searching fruitlessly in the rain in the dark for about 15 minutes. I found it eventually, determined not to end the day on a DNF and got the log signed and replaced where I found it.
PSA: if you move a cache or fix the coordinates, please say that you did that.
Happy to report that the cache itself is is good condition and the log nice and dry. (I put the log in a new fresh bag since the old one was getting a bit gross).

Cache find 4 (including AL find 9) day 17 of work trip to Melbourne, heading home.
Decided to try and look for the cache again now that we are in the area. Previous log said it was out 18m so I thought of the only logical place logic would be hidden found but the cords need updating I’ve contacted the CO about it.

GT37 and I had a look for this cache but had no luck. We resorted to reading the previous logs and noticed that a lot of people said the coords were out by quite a bit. We located the cache at S36 04.432 E146 43.704. We have included the coords as it is a trad so there is no workings to be done. Thought this would maybe help others or maybe the CO could use them to change GZ. They might not be exact but were taken with a GPS and a phone. Not sure if this is serious cache creep of what has happened. Thanks for the cache.
Headed down to Victoria for a few days as a pre Rutherglen mega trip with The Rats and Wilbert67. Plenty of solving before we left and a variety of caches found.

Decided to have a few days in Rutherglen before the mega so we could spend our time at Easter doing mega mania stuff.
With so much geoart and solved puzzles we had a great time taking in the delights and caches of this area. Thanks to all the CO’s who’ve contributed to our adventure.

Only found thanks to reading previous logs. Yep it’s 18 m out on the other side right where I parked. Just wondering why there hasn't been a coord update? Logical right!
Stoped for fuel and had some time looked all over the benches and the drain I might have missed it or it’s not there.
We stopped here for lunch on our drive back to Canberra from Geelong
Found with some help from previous logs.

It was supposed to be a quick stop for fuel here and I hadn't intended to get out of the car even though there was a cache so close but the internet had malfunctioned and nobody could pay for the fuel that they had already put into their cars. In the end we were there for 40 minutes waiting for it to be resolved which gave me more than enough time to wander over and pick up the hide. Thanks for the cache ptw312.
Out for an afternoon of caching today! Quick find with this one once I read the logs and likewise found 18m away from gps coords. Tftc!
Day 19 of our Whittlesea Road Trip and today our journey takes us from Rutherglen to Gundagai and stopping for a cache or two along the way. Many thanks to the COs for placingand maintaining their caches for us to look for.
Out and about caching as we travel from Rutherglen to Gundagai. Stopped by, to find this cache. Cache found and log signed. TFTC
Only 18 metres!! Luckily took Beavers advice. So bingo bango I found it - enroute kind of back to higher altitudes. TFTC AND THE FUN
Gonna give up due to the DNFs but reviewed other logs and found 17m away on the other side. Don’t give up - it is only a 1.5D rating. TFTC.
Not having a good run today, never mind, now off to the next one for the day. TFTC

Out for a day with klbooth caching in the area, and this was my first find for the day - easy find although our GPSrs bpounced all over the shop and had us on the other side of the roadway. But widening our hunt to obvious spots within 20m quickly nabbed this one. No idea what our phones were up to.
Thanks ptw312 for entertaining me at this location.

Out from the UK to visit family in my very delayed trip home. Out caching with the geobrother Pprime this morning with our eye on the S series. Was passing by this one after the adventure lab so had to stop. We messed this up but gps had us in one direction, when we couldn't find it we widened out search and came up trumps.
All in good order. Log signed and replaced as found. Thanks for placing this cache for us to find!!

A long-awaited trip with fitzy_1965 to Wangaratta for the 2021/2022 Mega!
Day 3 gave us a bit of a sleep in. We then packed up and headed out for the last of our caching in the Wangaratta region before heading home….. unfortunately, work calls tomorrow but thankfully I’m on work from home duties this week. We headed into town and did the Adventure Lab’s that we hadn’t had the chance to finish and in doing so missed the announcement that fitzy and won first to find on the Mega Event. How cool!
We met up with everyone for the Farewell event and headed up the highway towards home.
Thanks to all CO’s for their cache placement and maintenance and thanks to the Mega Committee for another great event.
Last cache of the trip. Was all quiet here today.....maybe something to do with the heat. Nice easy find.

The Wangaratta Mega event was a-MAZE-ing!!!
After nearly three years I have finally made it to my second Mega event. The first was ‘Clear Waters’ in 2019. This time not only being a Mega, it had the GPS Maze plus Signal (GCFR0G). The first one ever in the southern hemisphere. So of course I needed to attend! However… due to the weekend it fell one, I am only available on the Sunday but that is enough to claim it as attended.
Saturday Night: After work on Saturday night, Geo-dad (Now known as ‘TemoGeoDad’) and I drove to Albury for a pit-stop overnight. After we checked in to the motel, we headed over the road to a nearby cache. A quick find on this one but TGD cannot log it due to not having an account yet. Then it was time to head off to bed ready for our big day tomorrow.
Sunday: After a restful night sleep and Breakfast, it was time to head to Wangaratta to join in with the fun… finally. Given we arrived before 9am we headed off to find some of the Lab caches at the site to fill in time. From there we went to sign into the Mega, take a photo with signal and complete the maze. That is when the guy checking in people for the maze convinced Geo-Dad to sign up for geocaching and make the GPS Maze his very first find. Not many people can claim they have done that. He is now known as ‘TemoGeoDad’. The maze was very informative and a great way to introduce new Geocacher’s to the game plus many history lessons for everyone. I bought a couple of things for the Geo-Stuff store including a gift for Swimmagurl who couldn’t attend this weekend. Then it was time to finish the Labs, have lunch and head off to the final event just up the road. It took some time to solve all the rest of the labs but we ended up with all 40 labs finds. Afterwards, we moved onto the event and found the nearby cache and after saying goodbye to people, we headed home. We made two quick stops along the way home and two quick finds for TGD and me. What amazing day it was. TB visit. I would love to thank all CO’s of the caches I found, and the events I attended for allowing them to bring me and the caching community enjoyment. TFTE’s and TFTC’s
P.S. To save room on logsheets we signed some caches as: 16/1/22 JM & TGD

Heading home from our NSW holidays and I am working on the challenge of getting multiple states in the one day. Need to check how many times I've done it now. But got a few caches in NSW at 6.30 am and now got a Victorian one at 1.30 pm.
Parked about 90 meters away and after walking 90 meters realised I had walked the wrong way. Eventually got to GZ and with the coordinates pointing to the middle of the road, took a little time to find it.

First cache for the trip. Good condition though log book is nearly full. We organised a road trip to Beechworth to finally pick up a bunch of solved puzzles and get some caching done before the Mega in January. So good to be out exploring and finding these caches. Another consecutive day caching together with Georgenmoo (who also appears to love this sport just as much as I do!) This time we were minus all the geoboys, so it was geogirl day! We started out in drizzle and it was consistent most of the day. Everyone went home with wet shoes/socks but a quick change into the trusty gumboots saw nice dry feet still aching from the cold. A pretty successful day overall considering the conditions.
