Our family are relocating from Rural Queensland to Canberra. And aiming to do 100 caches in our travels.Thank-you for the cache, I almost gave up. As the there was nothing at the pole. But then found it exposed a bit away. Rehidden where suppose to be. Left a painted rock as trinket .:' __ :'__ .'`__`-'__``. :__________.-' :_________: :_________`-; `.__.-.__.'
33,576. Found during our Queensland Outback GeoMuster (QOGM) 2023 Longreach Adventure - a 33 day epic tour of Northern NSW and Outback Queensland finding many caches, attending great events and catching up with awesome Cachers along the way.Queensland Outback GeoMuster (QOGM) 2023 Longreach Adventure Day 29. Today we packed up, did our best to clean out Roma (I had plenty to find as when I came through here last year I only stopped for lunch and 1 cache), then continued East to Chinchilla. We still had 5 days and lots of caches to go on this trip. This was the next one on the list. Quickly found once at GZ. Signed as F65 and A33 as required. Replaced the cache as found, then we continued on our journey. Thanks to all the COs who put out these caches !!
QOGM 2023 Longreach Day 29. Traveling from Roma to Chinchilla via Miles. Fitzy_1965 and Albida33 are on our trip in early spring to Longreach. The journey home is well under way and today was a morning caching around Roma before heading east to get to Chinchilla and find an area of caches we have not been to recently. There were several caches along the way and even one old one that was an interesting walk in the searing sun. We had a quiet afternoon in town recharging for the last few days to get home. Thanks for the cache chook196844568.13 TNLNVisited: World Traveling Gold GC A#6 & 2011 6th Birthday A#207**Albida**

We are now heading north to avoid the coldest of the winter weather in Victoria. Today we headed off from Chinchilla and onto Miles, where we will stay for the night. A great opportunity to grab some around the area. Different and challenging hides.
Arrived here to find the container sqaushed on the ground. The hint has been cut up for fire wood. Replaced container and log and placed in the fork of a tree. Pleased I'm using my gaiters today after seeing 2 snakes recently.
Thanks chook1968 for placing this cache and doing the maintenance, so we can enjoy finding it.

This extended/long weekend across Anzac Day, it was an outback adventure to Charleville and Carnarvon Gorge. Departing Thursday afternoon, I stopped in Roma before continuing west through Mitchell and Morven and completing various puzzles and power trails. I then caught up with a small group to hike Carnarvon Gorge on Sunday and Monday, and then after having a final night in Roma, returned on Monday.
Today, it was time to head home from my weekend away from Roma to home. It was an opportunity to find a few remaining geocaches along the highway, and after visiting a few Chinchilla geocaches including the memorable cactoblastis monument [Mr Cole Snr, The Shanti & Prickly Pear](https://coord.info/GC8EW84), I opted to detour through Cecil Plains after going through Dalby, and then returned east via Toowoomba. Who would have thought that regular geocache stopping would add so much time to the normal 5.5 hr drive? With deteriorating weather in the late afternoon, it was time to then make the beeline home whilst getting a sneaky rain car wash along the way.
Unlike the other *Power* named geocache, I did park just off the highway and made the short trudge to GZ. It did take a few minutes looking up and down the poles before spotting the cache nestled against the wooden poles. Alas, the container lid is cracked, and the logbook is wet and saturated, so a maintenance visit will be required. Thanks chook1968 for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

After Karicka’s Moveable Feast Event in Roma this morning, the group has gone in different directions and I’m now in the back seat of Karicka’s very angry ute with him and Davinells up front…
A small amount of back tracking along the dirt service road saw us close enough to be able to walk to this cache… although the contents are damp, we were able to make our mark…

These power poles would have been easy to spot in 2014 when the area was probably in drought - but to day it was only spotted when we were about 10 metres away.
Thanks chook1968.
Feedback: There are no TB's in that cache.

On the way back to Brisbane from Charleville. This is a cache that I was unable to get 2 years ago when I was driving back from Emerald. A little turmoil was navigating and we missed this one. Found today.
Found whilst on a very non direct route to QOGM - Charleville 2022. On the hunting trail again with SeasonedBird (aka Mrs Geo, Salty Chook, the Old Boiler, Old Chook, Dirty Bird, Angry Bird & occasionally even Love Bird). It’s a great day for caching.

Travelling from Roma to Dalby today and doing caches along the way, as well as some side country roads. Enjoyed the day finding the caches and the weather held off (from raining). TFTC.
Didn’t want to go through the long grass so parked a bit to the west and went around the back. Easily accessed this way and once at GZ uncovered the cache without any trouble.

Day 8 of 8 (Taroom to Toowoomba) of a Queenslander road trip with Kestal, clocking just over 4000km, to tick off boxes for different challenges. A random stop on the side of the road because Kestal had been adding up the stats for our trip and we had not found a cache placed in 2014...I think we ticked off all but 4 of the 21 years of geocaching. TFTC chook1968
Day 8 and our last day on the road. Today we travelled from Taroom back to Toowoomba completing just over 4200kms in the past 8 days and collecting 90 different finds. Just a small handful of caches was found today.
As we were making our way through the last few hundred kms of this trip I was taking note of different things we had found along the way. Of the 21 years caching has been around 3 of those years were unavailable for us to collect (2000, 2001 and 2005) on this trip, leaving 18 possible years we managed to collect all but two of those years as we approached this cache I realised this cache was placed in 2014, one of the two gaps that was missing. So of course we needed to stop off. The find was straightforward but the hide was wedge in nice and tight between the poles and it took two of us to retrieve. Got to the log book eventually and our names were signed. TFTC and being part of another quirky stat for this road trip chook1968

Grey nomads, after spending way too much time in Far North Queensland, now camped in Miles for two nights, means one day at least (one afternoon) caching. The caches in Miles were a bit elusive - we could not find the start of the track, so instead, we drove out of town towards Chinchilla and found six caches instead.
Easy find, log book is wet - but our stamp worked better than ever. Thanks chook1968

Hi there chook1968.
We found your cache **"Poles Apart"** today.
We came to Miles as a stopping point on our way to Blackall, but as there are so many caches we've decided to stay for a few more days. Today we back tracked to pick up the caches between Chinchilla & Miles. We found 11 caches & DNF'd 0.
Thanks for placing the cache here, without geocaching as our guide we would never have found so many interesting places on our travels.
**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found the cache 5m from where our GPS said we should be looking.
**Cache Condition:** The container & log are in good condition
Thanks for the hunt today,
Regards
Ian & Penny

My youngest and I were travelling from Miles to Chinchilla this morning and so of course we stopped to collect a smilie here on the way. I spotted the potential gz as I got out of the car, and sure enough as the numbers counted down that's where it was. A quick find, but pushed a bit too far under for my liking; no way I was blindly sticking my hand in there in the middle of snake season, so a big stick was found to coax it out of its hide. I added my name to the log and returned the cache, leaving it a bit more accessible but adding natural camo. Tftc chook1968
Today was the third day of my little journey to and around outback Queensland. While I’m not in a hurry, I do have a list of caches that I do want to collect along the way and probably some extras as I see fit. It won’t be hard to continue my challenges of a trad a day and a cache a day challenges for the next few days, I am also hoping to pick up a few new challenges along the way and some target caches too.
After my great night stay at Lake Broadwater, then a few in Dalby, with Chinchilla done its time to move on and continue with the list.
A quick grab as I was passing, all good with this cache and with the log signed I returned it as found; thanks for placing it here.

After spending a lovely quiet night near Miles we are now heading east again with ilook4geo and picking up a few caches along the way. This was one that we found. Log and container were in good condition and after we had done the signing duties all was put back as it had been found. Thank you to chook1968 for adding this cache to the game.

After having a fun filled and very hectic time finding caches and catching up with friends at the Queensland Outback Geo Muster 2019 we are now taking a bit more leisurely trip home but also grabbing the occasional cache.
This was the seventeenth for the day.
We pulled up here and were quite happy when we saw where the GPSr was pointing as at least there was a little bit of shade. We followed the needle across keeping an eye out for any moving sticks and once at gz the cache was located right where the needle was pointing.
We added our name to the log and again retired back to the cool of the car out of the hot north wind
Thanks chook1968 for the cache.

Monday. After making the journey to Carnarvon Gorge for International Geocache Day, we are now on the return journey. Fantastic hint made for a very quick find here. We walked through a bit of snake bush (always has me on alert, especially in this moisture and heat) and signed the log and moved on

After a long day travelling yesterday we set out again today, but a little later than yesterday!
We need to be in Western Australia by the end of the month, so we have some big days ahead of us. We are breaking the travelling up where we can by searching for caches along the highway.
It has been a bonus however, as quite a number of caches highlight interesting places or provide historical information and local anecdotes which adds to our interest. Great work by the COs and much appreciated.
With plenty of roadworks happening along this highway, we had to drive a bit past this one and then walk back.
Made the find, walked back to the car and were on our way.
