Found - Mrs McMike2012 & I live full-time in our caravan travelling around NZ, visiting the places we want to visit & doing the things we want to do and fitting in a bit of Geocaching here & there we had been staying near Christchurch but were now making our way South for funeral later in the week while waiting for a small job to be completed on our caravan, we thought we might as well grab a few caches we went for a drive, & following directions from Mrs McMike2012, we were soon parked up at GZ I soon had the cache in hand, logbook completed & successfully replaced were pleased to add another 'smiley face' to the tally as to the best right wing, well Israel Dagg has gotta be in the mix somewhere TFTC ... TN:LN:LS #6,065 for Us!
The hint item must have taken a hit as it was a bit shaky. The log itself was beyond use and I only got a partial name onto it. tftc#7286

We had spotted a few other North Islanders make a personal 24hr find record so we took note of the general caches found and made a plan to try our luck, our previous best was 172, our aim was "more than Yeti", check out GC6PRMW once we have logged them all to see how we did...
A good hint makes for a quick find, appreciated, especially at 9.46pm

I can’t have a fav Crusader, I’m a Highlanders fan! However, I will hunt for your caches, and this was the first one of that series we found today on our way north. Thanks for this. Found with Debsnz.
Forced to take a detour from the last cache by all the road cones. We found ourselves on this road and of course we can't go past a cache without stopping. Found with Spoonz2
With the CO no longer active and archiving I rushed out to log my unfounds in the series where possible. Thanks SP1 for the good times....
As reported the log is a scrunched up wet ball. The replacement receipt is damp also. I’ve added a new log paper but it will need a new snap lock bag.. the current one has lost its snap.
Down in Christchurch with the Squirrel, ABCDF4 and eyespyben. During Covid lockdown, we solved a load of puzzles and decided that this would be a good time to visit. We've enjoyed a few days of good weather and seeing the Canterbury countryside. The caches have been in varying states - some good, some not so much. Our time here has been a blast, and we'd like to thank all COs who have made this adventure possible. Thank you and TFTC.
With ABCDF4, eyespyben, and Gap (of Fap and Gap). Logging all finds as Team HRP (Huntly, Rotorua, Papamoa - Our hometowns)... During Covid-19 lockdown, we solved a truck load of puzzles around Christchurch - Canterbury region. No use thrashing the old grey matter for no cause - We decided we should make good on this handiwork...
There are lots of interesting trails and geoart surrounding Christchurch. What you aren’t told is how far flung some of these caches actually are. Some beforehand advice would have been great, so here are some of my notes... You’re welcome!
1. Mobile coverage is patchy, especially in those quiet, rural areas where it was most needed. Saving caches to offline might show that you are prepared and organised...
2. There are many dusty metal roads on the trails. The car will get messy, and your hair will feel like cardboard at the end of the day...
3. Suitable clothing and footwear are essential. You will climb in and out of hedges, gorse, and other rough stuff. You might get scratched, cut to shreds, and bleed a lot. It’s not advised to wear your brand new jacket on the day...
4. Take lots of food and drink. You’ll probably be head down, tail up and not realise you haven’t eaten until late afternoon. There are very few shops or gas stations out there...
5. Make sure that you secure keys and wallet and know where these are placed for easy retrieval. A full box of pens might be useful too, especially if you’re inclined to free some into the wild...
6. Know the difference between left and right, and north, south, east, and west. Turning right and heading north will not get you to South Christchurch quickly.
7. Look with girl’s eyes rather than boys eyes... Some caches haven’t been found in a while and you might have to get down on your knees to pray.
8. Always be prepared for misleading hints. This is what turns simple caches into D5/T5 hides... “Head height” could mean the cache is positioned at your toes.
9. Have a sense of humour and like the people you go caching with. It’s going to be a very long day, and you might want to hurt someone during the journey...
10. Make sure you can operate your phone/device and it doesn’t crash when you most need it...
11. Learn to cut and paste logs because you’re going to repeat this function so often when logging all of your finds.
12. Above all else, have fun and be kind...
If recent days have been anything to go by, then today's activity is going to seem crazy. We have such a big game to play, spread out over a very large area - An early morning start in the north, with a late finish on the trails to the south... Let's go! We decided to make our way to the Smurf trail. Despite the timing, we knew we had daylight saving on our side... We couldn't resist a small scrum of rugby players. No problem with these hides - Found exactly as hinted. Thanks shannonp1 and TFTC.

After puzzle solving in the Canterbury region along with ABCDF4 we were invited to join Fap (from Fap & Gap) and Squirrel Nutcase to a week long caching adventure in the Canterbury area. With flights and accommodation booked were off, all met up in ChCh. and many hard dusty Kms travelled and many caches found, I think the Squirrel has said it all in his brief. Many thanks for the placements and Cos for bringin us to the very pleasant areas we travelled in to your region

On an overnight work trip down to Ashburton and following a fog-delayed flight form Nelson via Welly I was now on the ground and ready to find some caches en route to Ash Vegus...
Time to head back towards the highway now as I need to be making some progress...but the cross country route took me past this one.
Quick find
Thanks shannonp1

**Found on our February - March tour around the South Island. Logging back home in Auckland in Lockdown isolation**
After washout weather 4 years ago on the 29th February we have been keen to greatly increase our Leap Day Finds tally in 2020. To that end we made sure we were in Canterbury ready for some quick puzzle trails this morning, and determined to cache all day. We made short work of the Smurfs, then moved on towards Rollerston to find a few All Blacks and Crusaders. A quick find of Rico Gear, thanks.

Yesterday I found 8 caches from 10 attempts. Today managed 8 from 9 attempts. Does that mean I'll get 8 from 8 tomorrow? (It won't - I'm going fishing).
This was #3 today, all good here (found exactly as per hint. Funny that ).

Straight forward find. Have been supporting the Highlanders for a good many years - might need to change now we are living here! TFTC
Found today with Injeanious (some logs signed as Team JeJe). We were out today getting some caches for the Mystery at the Museum. It was a great day for a drive out this way and we had some great views of the snow covered alps in places. TFTC!
One of 4 quick and easy ones before dinner and on a circular trip around the block (triangle-shaped). There was another target cache but it was missing so a DNF there to prevent a clean sweep. All caches good and replaced as found. T F T C shannonp1.
capperz is off on holiday, again, and this time it's a few days in Aussie. First up a visit to our son and his family in Broome for some slim pickings as there aren't many caches there, and even less after our last visit over 2 years ago. After 5 days there we're off to sunny Darwin for a 6 night break and a trip around the top end of the NT, yay.
Before we fly out of Chch at silly-o'clock in the morning we have to drive down from Blenheim and stay the evening over near Rolleston. So decided to head on down the line late morning and make a couple of local finds before losing light for the day. We managed 4 nearby 'All Black Favourites and a nicely D/T'd challenge cache. Just the 5 today but a few more for the collection.

Quiet gravel road, middle of nowhere. Rainy day, school day during work hours. There really shouldn't be any muggles, right? Yeah, right!
Got hordes of the most unexpected muggles passing by - all in combat gear, facepaint, rifles and big packs!
Logbook for this one is in sad state of affairs - looks as if it has been through a shredder.

Tiki touring back roads. A bit of a fire down the road, saw fire truck and water heading that way, but another fire in opposite direction! Thanks for the cache shannonp1
#15370. Made a quick find while Troodles was turning the car around. Cache was nice a secure under its covering stone. TFTC.
StreetWalker and I needed some finds today to increase our find count for 24 March. I am still feeling a bit delicate after being unwell last week, so didn't want to do anything too strenuous, so a drive out into the countryside was just the ticket.
A quick find for SW while I turned the car around. TFTC.

6 July 2017 17:38. The magpies were laughing at me at I didn't take the GPS with me and made it 400 rather than 200 for this cache! Still a quick find and caches found for the day, I'm heading home for tea, TFTC shannonp1 cache find #3009
Late afternoon cache hunting trip with the kids. Quick and easy find. Tftc
Note to Geocache owner...might need some extra paper.
Thanks for another drive in the country. Lovin' the hunt

No work today so a rolleston road trip was on the cards quick find tftc
Noticed this one on the map so a quick sidetrack off my intended route to pick up a smilie here. Not sure why it wasn't on the list in the first place but no worries as its all sorted now. TFTC #8955
And another one bites the dust. third of the series. great way to get the numbers up for the day. Especially considering all is going to plan. Cache is good. TFTC
With a trip to Chch planned it was time look at which caches we would hunt down while in the area. The first thing I noticed was a cluster of puzzles that I could solve with relative ease so I set to work doing so. Although most were straight forward a few took a little more work to arrive at an agreement with the geochecker. With Canterbury being almost a clean slate for us it wasn't hard to find plenty of other caches to supplement the puzzles and we had a great day caching, 87 finds in all.The logs were signed HZ+HM, H+H, or in some cases with our full names.
Thank you to all cache owners who made this possible.
It was a combination of holidays, family visit and caching. Since our last visit lots of trails have appeared and there were many puzzles to be solved. And a lot of trads thrown in for good measure. We almost forgot what it's like to be cut, scraped, prodded, pricked, bruised and stabbed by the large variety of hedges you can find caches under in Canterbury. We were not deterred and it was fun to find them. Thank you shannonp1
I decided to venture out on a random drive to find some caches and get to know places. Both aims accomplished successfully in around 8.5 hours, covering a mere 180-ish k's, with plenty of interesting caches along the way. It was a good day for caching, overcast, turning to rain and showers, keeping muggles indoors. Got back home late, wet, and happy. Thanks to all the CO's for great hides that gave me hours of entertainment!
Enjoyed the series so far and mostly agree with the selection of All Blacks and Crusaders. Still some to go, TFTC
I was starting to get withdrawal symptoms from from not doing a lot of caches in a day. The previous 8 days I had only found 15 caches. A sad state of affairs. Time to remedy it.
Cheers for the cache.
Cheers for the cache.
A nice quick find on my way home from the Hororata Highland Games and my last for the day as I was feeling rather tired.
In town for a “Mega” weekend of caching. I joined up with Yeetrees and gonefishing to form Team YGB. I really enjoyed exploring the country roads of Canterbury. We travelled a fair few Kilometres in the 4 days we were here, and had a great time, with a lot of laughs along the way. Good weather, and good company. It doesn’t get much better than that does it.
Sunday. Day Three, Area 3. And we're off to an area that I dubbed “South of the River” when I was planning things. A nice sunny day but with a cool breeze, the promised afternoon showers didn’t eventuate either.
Thanks to all the CO’s for all the caches we found. Cheers and TFTC

Found during the Mega weekend on bit of a tiki-tour around the Canterbury back blocks. Great weather, great caches, great fun! Thanks to all the cache owners for putting out and maintaining caches for us to find. All in all, a fun road trip with Boxhill and Yeetrees, we signed many of the logsheets as YGB to save both time and logsheet spaces.
