A rare day with no work and no plans… So Blkthunder and I headed out on a country drive…

Heading south, the initial plan was abandoned soon after leaving home, so a small change sees us heading towards Christmas Creek, Lamington and Chinghee Creek…

It wasn’t until we were heading back to LeDeVine that I checked some logs and found the alternate coordinates… which are on the opposite side of the road to where we were originally looking…

Like Beardman75 we found the remnants of the container…

The Private Property signs are a little disconcerting but we continued on anyway…

Not the obvious picnic area in case you are lead astray- signs say private use only. According to.us Gz was 14m out but then phones not always accurate. Hint lead us to right area, a bit hidden by long grass at the moment. TFTC

Well what a great view from GZ! The locals must think so too, as there's a bench up on the hill behind GZ. Bet the early morning vista is amazing from here. Cache was found easily - lid was on their pretty firmly, this one hasn't been found for a while. The blue sistema lock tab is almost sun-bleached white - but everything is in good condition. A perfect place for a cache. Thanks Hot Wheels Duo!

After attending the Stinson 80th Anniversary event at Christmas Creek, it seemed only natural to pick up a few smilies while in the area and along the way back home Big Grin.

Wow the scenery here was stunning. Marchwood had trouble locating this one, so we teamed up. Its no wonder he had trouble, according to my gpsr coords were out by 15 metres. The hint will help point finders in the right direction.

This cache is in good condition, and makes smilie #3274. Thanks **Hot Wheels Duo** for bringing us here. Feel free to discover our trackable TGQNRV .

After the Stinson Event it was time to go caching - with a full yummy tummy.

I had a minor technical glitch where my data for the caches down this Valley got corrupted.
So with no description, hints or logs I hit the trail.

I searched for quite some time above the road where my GPS said I should be.
Gave up and headed back down the hill where I bumped into Orange Crew.
Returned to GZ where it became a quick find once the hint was divulged.
I made it about 15m out.
Loved the views from up here.

Stinson Weekend! Today is the Westray grave site walk in the morning and some afternoon caching as well. We found thirteen caches yesterday afternoon on our way to the camping grounds (although we are taking in more of the comfort of a cabin!)

On the afternoon of the second of our three days, we headed up Chingee Creek Road in search of the nine traditional geocaches there. Another quick drive by geocache at a county fence post.

Log signed & replaced again. Found at 4.40pm on 17th February 2017. TFTC, Hot Wheels Duo.

There was just the right parking spot for this one on the way up the hill. My GPSr took me for a bit of a wander in a circle before I read the hint.

A nice quick find once I was in the right spot. Smile

Went out to Christmas Creek for a geocache event and had fun locating this find while out there.

03-Oct-15
Well I had left the Christmas Creek campsite just after 7 am with the kids. We had done a nice walk around Beaudesert caching and it was quite a hot day. Roll on to this road and Master Lincoln 4 fell asleep. We get up to this spot where it would have been nice to have enjoyed the views and peace and quiet but all I can hear is loud snoring! Very loud snoring bless him. Quickly grabbed cache and moved on to the next one. TFTC.

Was invited by the CO to add my name to the log on this one while out placing containers for new caches. I forget what we saw here as it was a whirlwind tour, but thanks to the CO for letting me grab this one.

Thanks HWD

I was lucky enough to be driven by the CO to GZ today, along with dahumbug and Just a Trife. It was a great afternoon spent finding older caches and helping hide some new ones. Beautiful views of the rolling hills as you would expect out this way. It's a damn shame there isn't a flying fox on those power lines though, how fun would that be. We even placed a nice new container here as the old one had been broken.
Thanx again HWD.

02-Oct-15
Wow! What great views from here! It would be super to sit above GZ at the table and benches and have a snack and sit pondering and admiring. I guess everyone thinks that as they have had to put up Private Property signs where you'd enter to access the table and seats. Never mind. It was delightful to spend a few minutes admiring the view before finding the container and logging for our smilie. Thanks for showing us this amazing spot Hot Wheels Duo. Well worth the drive! [^][^]

We were in the area to attend the "Christmas Creek - the Stinson Weekend" Event and with our campsite all set up, we thought we had finished for the day and were sitting around chatting when Hot Wheels Duo announced she had to go out to place a few new caches for the event and asked who wanted to go along with her. Well Mrs Just a Trifle didn't need to be asked twice and along with Monkey Maker and dahumbug, she headed off for a bit of caching along the way. It didn't take long to find this cache and with our names in the log book, we were soon on our way again.

Thank you Hot Wheels Duo for having placed the cache for everyone to find.

13-Sep-15
Cache full of water (strange considering location). Container lid was cracked so probably rain.
Log book nice and dry in zip lock bag.
Tried to dry out container and removed note books as soaked so they didn't go moldy.
Nearby seat looking very peaceful, will stop here for cup of tea on next visit and sit and admire view.
Thanks Hot Wheels Duo for bringing me to this amazing place.
A well deserved favorite point for when I come back to contemplate at the table.

Smilie #2689

A trip south was overdue so we thought today we'd hit the Christmas Creek Kerry area and, hopefully, pick up some extra smilies.

I always find , when doing country drives, that I tend to get too involved in the scenery & end up bypassing the main objective.
The cache!
So far we have had to backtrack three times due to being distracted by the view. LOL ...
As we approached GZ a beautiful brown falcon took flight from atop a fence post nearby.
Great cache guardian, deserting his 'post' when needed most! Smile
A quick find.
Logged & replaced as found, minus the falcon of course!

Taking the new geo-mobile for a bit of a drive in the country. After a wander to J G Westray's grave I was now heading home.

"Just a few more" found me heading up this road. My field note from many weeks ago just says "snail" for this one. I can't remember the snail but do remember admiring the view as a couple of other cars hooned on up the hill.

Thanks for the cache HotWheelsDuo.

Cheers!!
