PetAlKids I found your cache Crooked Tree on 17/8/2024, 9:45AM. This is my find 6919 and find # 2 today. Picking up some solved mysteries today. A short bush bash to GZ. Found the container on the ground at the hinted trees. Amazing that it did not wash away since September last year. Signed log and tucked the container inside the bark of the tree. Thanks for the cache, mate! TNSLLN

Bush bash lead us to the trees we suspected. Cache was so well tucked away so missed it initially and widen our search only to come back to the same spot.

Today austpark and I are attempting to do 8 different cache types in a day.
We solved a few puzzles and multi's and were ready for the challenge.

First off we went to Coolum and met Connie and then Meritonn, her daughter Georgia, jwill607 and dahumbug for a morning event.

After a chat about caching and Connie's travels we all decided to go for a close-by Multi. After solving the multi, we walked to GZ, stunning on a clear blue winter's day, and Meritonn soon found the cache.

Then austpark and I left the group and went for a letterbox cache. Sadly I broke my stamp when we were doing the Jolly Brolly Folly caches, so couldn't leave a stamp.

Now for the puzzle cache and after a short walk through the trees, avoiding the large spider's web, the cache was soon in hand.

Thanks PetAlKids for placing and maintaining this cache.

Muggle65, Brislions and l had a really fun day caching up the Sunny Coast. We got perfect weather and nearly everything on our list. Thank you for the fun

Sunshine Coast was today target. I needed two caches up there for my next D/T loop. I found 16 caches and few AL waypoints. This one was next on the list. Signed the log and return it to the cache.

Heading back towards home after my mostly successful caching afternoon, I stopped nearby to find this cache which I’d solved a while ago. Maths and logic came to the fore here. Heading to GZ, I couldn’t see what I was looking for, as per the hint, from the angle that I came in and gps led me towards a different tree. I looked around and didn’t see anywhere that a cache could be. Then turned around and saw what the hint referenced. The cache was quickly to hand, well cammo’d. TFTC

Came out today in order to grab the New years day souvenir with a cache or two. Once I had found my way to GZ the GPS was jumping but in the end I found the cache easily. Thanks for the cache Petalkids!

So happy to have joined the lovely caching group of Peppa, Patrol14, Snickersallan and Grannysmith1947 before the event today. We basically targeting caches with recommended at night to qualify for a challenge, and others which takes our fancy.

Thanks for the cache and taking us here PetAlKids.

Enjoying my two day visit to the Sunshine Coast with geo friends. We decided to venture out into the quieter suburbs even though it's still very wet in most parks and places.
Nice puzzle worked out with good teamwork and it was a relatively quick find once at GZ, thanks CO.

Peppa and I had planned to attend the Meet the Canadian event at Mooloolaba today so to make a day of it, we left home at 7am to have a full day. Met up with E-Smiley, Snickersallan and GrannySmith1957 to continue our caching day.

Parked nearby and made our way to the entry point for GZ and noticed a lot of water lying around. Picked our way to GZ trying to stay as dry as possible. Found the cache on the ground, so after signing the log, placed it a bit higher. Made our way back out luckily with dry shoes.

The puzzle was a bit trickier for me but glad to have cleverer people in our group to have this solved in a flash..

Patrol14 and I have journeyed to the Sunnie Coast for the Canadians at the Coast event in Mooloolaba this afternoon… deciding to make a full day of it we left the Southern burbs of Brisbane this morning at 7am…

Thinking we’d work our way through Mountain Creek we were joined by E_Smiley, Snickersallan and Grannysmith1947…

Like whenever we attempted to walk on the grass today, it didn’t take long to get bogged down in the caches…

A puzzle I was able to nut out… who said math isn’t fun…

There was a lot of water through here, but a real group effort saw us make it to GZ mostly dry… snickersallan didn’t even need the gum boots… the container was found on the ground though…

We were out collecting smileys for a few of the solved Maths caches (it was helpful to know a Sec Maths Teacher). We found this cache and signed the log and replaced as found. All good with this one. Thanks PetAlKids for the puzzle and the cache it was nice exploring the area that we have not been to before. .

On my way to the sunshine coast for a weekend family event on the way I thought I would grab a few caches along the way. Sippy Downs and mountain creek areas have a few puzzle caches that I have solved and needed to collect. While passing I grabbed a few trads as well.
Today I was target caching really I had left a lot of the trads in the area as time was getting on. This was an easy find and a short walk from my park in the street. I’m glad I took my walking stick with me as the grass was a little thick and I could use it to clear a path in to GZ. All good with the cache and with log signed and cache returned as found I was off t\o the next one in the area.
Thanks for placing this one here.

A pleasant wintry morning was spent up the coast doing a paddle in the Maroochy River, so to maximise the fun a few caches were collected along the way.

This one has been on the solved list for so long I barely remember the process, but was thankful it's still available, and in good shape at GZ.

A trip to the Sunshine Coast with Richmond Lad to try to avoid the worst of the heat. Still, it was HOT! After visiting a nearby "Oldest & Finest:" we headed to this solved puzzle. Richmond Lad spotted the cache in its hiding spot and our names were soon added to the log. TFTC

Algebra worked OK I hoped?
It's amazing how many trees group into threes in the bush. Checked a few in the area!
Perhaps to get D to 4 you could leave a line or two out of the formula checklist.
Mystery caches are always fun.

10:33:00 AM. Had this one solved for a while but last time we attempted it there was water everywhere so left for another day. Riding past today and all was good. A quick find as it was in the open. Log signed and we tucked the cache away and covered it. Thanks for the cache PetAlKids

Staying near Mooloolaba for a couple of days. So many enjoyable walkways and waterways to visit. Solved this a while ago knowing we would be visiting. Managed to get to GZ avoiding too many wet patches. Hint was specify enough to allow us to find the cache quickly which was good as the mosquitoes were plentiful and hungry. TFTC

5/9/18 12:09 pm Find #2050
Out with NyssaFlutterby, Wombles&Co, Slow Puncture and Team NanaBombana today for a Wacky Wednesday, with a typical wacky Wednesday weather forecast too. However we weren't going to let that stop us, and headed up the coast to grab some solved puzzles along with some traditionals.
Parking the geomobiles, we headed over along and in to GZ. Making a beeline for a particular spot, the cache was quickly found at the not-so-crooked tree.
Thanks for the cache PetAlKids.

26-Aug-18
Using the GPS we thought we were on the right track but after dodging a quagmire or two realised we needed to be on the other side! Back to cross the bridge then a relatively easy find but sneaky!

26-Aug-18
After collecting a few traditionals, an earth cache and an oldie in the area, tried to walk across the creek to this cache from the opposite bank. Disappointing that Gcoven slowly sunk into the water as she tried to replicate my walking on water trick, so we had to walk back round the long way to the bridge to collect this puzzle. It was a quick find once in the right spot.

Had the puzzle solved quite a while ago with some trial and a lot of error. Thanks for maintaining this cache PetAlKids.

This puzzled had been solved for quite some time however we decided to take a drive South to obtain the Souvenir that was on offer this weekend. This cache was tragetted together with another nearby cache.

After the short stroll off track it was not long before the cache was in hand.

The log was signed and returned to the cache and the cache replaced exactly as found.

All is good with this cache.

We had been puzzle solving the last few days, spying the mention of prime numbers this one was obviously meant for big bruv! A quick solve and it was on the list, today we were out caching for the morning. Parked up nearby and off we set. Phone gps and proper gps did not agree, not suprising it wasn't my phone who went the right way, oh well, was only a short detour and was heading back towards ground zero when I noted the container had already been found, always the annoying brother I guess!!

Log signed as the 4B's to include Landyman123, Pinkducks, Legoman9494 and myself.

All in good order, thanks for the cache!!!! Smile

Out and about with the English sister and family picking up some [?] around us. Another mathematical one for us - common around here it seems - so another one for me to work on[)]. I particularly loved #6 [^]

Parked conveniently and took a pleasant walk "in" before our GPSrs seemed to diverge some 30m out. Sister went right, I went left. I spied, extracted and pocketed the cache and kept looking further on. Sister completed a loop and ... well, this is what brothers are for isn't it?

I wasn't too mean - after all she was driving and had the car keys. Once all signed she got to see the hide. Nice little spot. We reckon the littler trees around it are now qualified as crooked. Legoman9494 reckons his uncle is a little bit crooked.

Thanks for placing this cache, PetAlKids. Found in good condition.

I had solved quite a few puzzles in anticipation of our Sunshine Coast holiday and this morning we had access to a car to transport us on a caching expedition to try and turn some into smiles.
A pleasant walk to GZ, but we were keen to get out of the bush as soon as possible as we are ever mindful of snakes and other nasties hiding out. My GPSr took me to one hint location while StreetWalker's took him to another and his was correct.
Good to get another smiley and enjoyed the puzzle, thanks. TFTC.

A quick solve for a pair of braniacs (after spending a few hours honing up on grade 12 maths from 30 years ago!). Out after dark always makes finding caches harder, but we grabbed this one reasonably quickly in the end.
Thanks for the interesting puzzle.

After a week of staying up the coast for work I invited Swellerfungus and Crookedpete up for a night of geocaching debauchery. After a week of perfect weather that I was not able to enjoy, my first free time was blighted by a sudden change in the weather bearing strong wind and drizzle, but we bravely headed out after dinner (which was cooked while SF and CP nutted this one out - I had solved it earlier in the week). With Crookedpete on board, it would have been rude not to head out to his namesake cache. At GZ it was a short search before the cache was located. TFTC

15-Jan-16
Found with SeffnJarah and Swellerfungus. Having taken an early Friday mark at work, Swellerfungus and I were soon enjoying SeffnJarah's hospitality at a very windy Cottontree. Seff had already solved this, so whilst he cooked the BBQ, Fungus and I revisited our maths schooling, and soon enough we had numbers that looked good.

After dinner, we headed out for a spot of night caching, including this one.

Many thanks, PetAlKids

This puzzle has been solved for some time now and we have been waiting for a bit of spare time to go and look for it. Today was the day! Seirra1 and I found ourselves a park and walked along the pathway until the GPS told us it was time to head bush. Our coords didn't lead us to anything in particular, so we made a guess and had a look around. We were soon rewarded with the cache container being revealed. Thanks for the puzzle and also the cache PetAlKids. Very Happy Happy New Year!

Heading up to the sunshine coast for a couple of events this weekend. Brother Colin is tagging along for the ride and we were hoping to find some puzzles along the way to Dunethin. Big Grin

This one looked complicated at first, but it was not nearly as difficult as I expected. Within a few minutes I had some numbers.

This fitted in nicely with our planned route today.

Nice easy parking not too far from GZ, a short walk across the green space and GZ was soon in reach. A likely geotrail heading in the right direction and we were there.

Thanks for a nice little puzzle. Smile

I had a couple of hours to kill tonight, so I decided to go and find some solved puzzles.
This one was a pretty quick find.

I have been waiting for this one to come back as it was disabled when I finally got the puzzle done .
With it back up and running, I was ready with my coordinates to come find it. Oh no's I have to do the puzzle again. With a little bit of this and little bit of that I finally made some coordinates that I thought fit the bill. Not usually good at the maths but this time something was going my way.
Headed to this one first thing this morning and soon I was at GZ. A bit of a look here and there and realised I was just not close enough. How about over here. What have we here? I found it. First on the new log book. Signed the log and returned it to its hide.

Out with eldest daughter today with the intention to replace this cache... but the recent weather had destroyed the said crooked tree. Plenty of branches down all over the place actually. Some storm.

So we have found a different tree, and rather less crooked. Cache moved and clues hence updated (but similar). Hopefully the long wait has moved on the spoilers, and the new location surely will keep them at bay for a little while...

22-Dec-14
Checked today... and the blasted thing is missing. How on earth...?

We have had a series of caches go missing around here. I will temporarily disable and fix when the Christmas season is over. Apologies to all.

14-Dec-14
Marco started the day by attempting to go fishing but came home empty handed, so we decided to head out caching. Marco had done the calculations at home beforehand so we thought we were armed with the final co-ordinates. Our first cache for the day was a DNF and sadly this one was to also follow the trend of the morning with us coming away empty handed. We looked for quite a long time in all the possible places that matched the hint, but had no luck.

Found @ 0850 hrs

This was a brain drain............I spend 3 years in grade six and the teacher told me I would never make a mathematician......She was right!!

So with a little help from one clever cacher, I worked out a set of numbers, pity there wasn't a checker to confirm our set of numbers, but my brains trust assured me that they were good.

I parked nearby and had a nice stroll to GZ. It wasn't long before I found a nice bright coloured container, just waiting for me.

I signed the log before replacing the cache as I found it.

Found at 1825.

After struggling with the quiz and feeling ready to give up, I was able to get some helpful pointers from a very smart person Smile
I attempted to hit GZ this morning, but right on cue, muggles appeared everywhere.
A quick dash on the geobike at dusk, only one pair of muggles to watch walking away, I dived in and found the crooked tree and funky cache. Log signed and cache returned as found.
The mozzies still have my leg, so I will go back in the morning to retrieve it!

*FTF* at 12.57pm Yay!

I know, I'm just as surprised as the rest of you! I had something to pick up on the coast and this was not a very big detour, especially since I had it solved and it seemed to be lonely.

Great little puzzle again PetAlKids and it took a bit of thinking. Logic prevailed and after COnfirmation last night my plans were set.

Today was a perfect day and only a few muggle schoolies heading home to be avoided and the wonderful old crooked tree was spotted. Thanks for a nice cache PetAlKids!
