Full time Nomads, travelling around Australia since 2014. Staying a week or so in Yass, today we headed out late morning. Fantastic warm weather today, woo hoo! Headed south today looking for caches as we head towards a major milestone.TFTC Rapidlywild
On the road again.... homeward bound via Yass ..bye Canberra thanks for your Mega shenanigans..this was one of my cache pitstops on the way home.
Log has seen better days so we placed some fresh paper in. It should last for a while now. *The generic bit*Found on our way home to Victoria from the Canberra GeoBash Mega event. Had a great time finding a great range of caches and meeting lots of lovely people. Thanks to the organisers, volunteers, sponsors and COs.
Find 5074 on April 1, 2024Nice quick find on our way out of Canberra. All is well with the cache. TFTC Rapidlywild
Managed to pull off the Fwy safely, so we could find this cache. SL at 7.53am. Making our way home to Victoria after the GeoBash, in the fog! #10,919 TFTC Rapidlywild
Reperio 17:54This was Day 3 of our camping getaway to Yass to go in search for some of the local geocaches, and things got off to a very early start being woken up by some extra enthusiastic 4WDers, so we decided to leave where we were and resume where we left off yesterday. With approximately 150 caches found today, we had an awesome day with only about 10 DNFs, and managed to either replace broken containers or do some log maintenance along the way. Log tattered. A last hurrah for 2022 caching with The Rats today- into and then out of Canberra on some geotrails. A number of different caches were tackled on a hot day.
TFTC!

Took advantage of the public holiday to a bit caching with steeba as we tried to grab a few final caches before the end of 2202. Despite the heat we had a great day.

Found this one on our way to the victorian event with Dty73 and Tankengine. Quick find. Kutgw
A quick find while passing by. I initially spotted evidence of what looked like a missing cache at GZ but luckily I kept looking. TFTH
Very appreciative of the series, log must of been wet and dry so many times it’s mouldy but currently dry.
Avenged my DNF of sometime ago reasonably quick find through the wet grass onwards to Yass Tftc.
Well that was hectic. All good with cache.
Boxing Day pickups while it’s cool. Lovely to be outside.
Thanks For getting me out and about Rapidlywild

Tftc, after doing dragon trail with Di Morgan headed back to camp collecting a few more.
Number 2 of 20 finds today plus 5 AL's with no DNF's on a Canberra-Bowning-Binalong-Galong-Boorowa trip. A good day out!
One of those odd little remnants of old road that often goes unnoticed unless occupied by the highway patrol doing a bit of surveillance. Took the diversion today for a nice quick park and grab. Thanks Rapidlywild for placing and maintaining this cache. Cheers.

I DNF’d this cache back in April 2016..... more than FIVE YEARS AGO! Turns out it was missing
But why has it taken me 5 years to return to a cache I have driven past probably between 50-100 times since then? No idea!
Decided to fix that, and today it was a nice and quick park and grab!
TFTC Rapidlywild, nice to get that blue sad face off my map after so many years....!

Found with CH83 on the way to visit relatives in the new year. A simple find, parked, grabbed and returned within a minute. Thongs probably wasn’t the best idea for this one though, I found myself standing in an ants nest!

I got an early mark today so fitzy_1965 picked me up and we did a couple of caches on our way out to Yass this afternoon.
Quick find here today.
Quick find here today.
It was all go in this by-way! First thought there was another geocacher lurking about but realised he was about 150m from the cache. Turns out he must have broken down as a tow truck, flashing lights blazing, loaded his car. Then another car came in, obviously the pick up. Along comes a Coles delivery van who parks up for a few minutes - phew - now I can go for the cache! TFTC
Found it. Had to replace log as paper had completely fallen apart due to being wet.
While still based at Yass we meandered around different localities finding caches. Yours was one we targetted and found. Our thanks to Rapidlywild for placing this cache and adding to our enjoyment of the area.
After a great visit to Shellharbour parkrun volunteering to as marshal I left home rather late with a full packed car for a long weekend of caching. Took matrass, boat and walking/climbing gear so prepared for most situations. Slowly made my way through the highlands to pick up pieces here and there and then a quick run towards Canberra. Most of today's planning however was just outside the ACT but close to the border . Picked up the trails around Murumbateman and then towards Hall. Got pretty warm along the day, I think I saw 38 at some point. Luckily no long walks and all caches found quick, thanks for putting them out there!

TFTC in rush on numbers but enjoying the rush! Cache container replaced, old log sheet retrieved from rubbish nearby. All set to go again
Found a key ring I expect was probably part of the cache but no cache found.
Co-ords spot on, used hint but found nothing. A couple of good hiding places. But no cache.
While staying at Yass we took the opportunity to do some more caching with ilook4geo, mostly picking up caches between Yass and Murrumbateman. Some caches took a bit more finding than others, but it was basically a successful run. All logs found were initialled and put back with their containers as found. Thanks go to Rapidlywild for placing this cache.
The day was a reasonable one for weather, so went out with goingplaces2 for a caching run from Yass to Murrumbateman. We had a fun day and signed lots of logs with two lots of initials. TFTC.
A quick find on a typical Canberra winter day. Brrrr! #MysteryAtTheMuseum Clue #3 TFTC.
breaking up a trip, this was good for the kids to find. log was damp but able to sign. thanks
Hanging around Murrumbateman came out and collected this cache. Kerralle a short stroll up the road, so call in and check out the cache before the wine.
It was a quick find when i got there. I gathered up the cache, made my mark, put it back in its hiddy spot, then venture on with my stroll in the deep dark wild.
Thanks for this cache Rapidlywild, Lil Donna

A decent haul of caches along a powertrail was the agenda for today or so the powers that be informed me . Along for the ride in micaparamedic's fourby we were joined by Earthbound Chief & Control as well as papi4506 and GeoTurtle56. Up and down, we explored what we Victorians would see as highways but what the ACT has deemed to be parkways.
A day of laughs and camaraderie ensued as we sought and found what the ACT had to offer by way of highway based powertrails with the odd extra cache in a shopping centre or puzzle thrown in for good measure. Chalk up another day where the haul tipped a ton. My thanks to the COs that have placed these caches for us all to enjoy.

Replaced with new container on fence post. On our way to Queanbeyan Mega, caching along the way. Staying close by decided to grab a couple of caches. Log may be stamped Coongoola or small logs signed CG. SL

Yass camping at the back of the soldiers club.
We chose this location as we wanted to do a day trip into ACT.
Found numerous caches & an assortment of sizes in some great locations.

Finally we got a cache! Cryp1 and i have been trying to get to one all evening. It our late night stupidity we went the unnecessarily tricky bush route (particularly with cryp1 still in a knee brass). But we soon had cache in hand, and could manouvre ourselves back out. Glad to get a cache under our belt for the day. Tftc
[:(!] Thanks for an awesome effort.

Today ended up being such a varied day, with an event, a mob find, multi, then a bunch of highway park and grabs, culminating in a puzzle at the end.
Funny thing was that only the event was planned, but I did about 20 today as i was 'passing'.
This was eleventh for the day. We overshot the first entrance, but of course there was another. Took longer than it should have to find

Set about collecting all the caches along the road north to Yass today - found 20 of 21 targeted.
A quiet spot to search, no need to hide my intentions (this became a theme for the day, it's not easy to look like you're checking your tyres).

Found with nissan 65 on a few days away caching. Log signed and returned to its hiding place. Thankyou for the cache .
Missed the first turn but managed the second onto the Old Road. Spotted the container in the 3rd place I checked. TFTC Rapidlywild.
Wednesday 6 December 2017 - an overcast damp Summer afternoon in the low 20s. MuggleHusband drove around to keep Nonna occupied while I jump out of the car at each stop to find 11 from 11 caches. The highway was extremely busy so we quit before anyone got hurt to come back another day to find the rest along this stretch.
Worth a favourite point. Not so quick and easy find. Fortunately dressed in my snake resistant outfit I ventured into the long grass wondering where GZ was taking me. I felt quite disoriented when I walked over the verge to see another 'Hwy'. Clearly I had not had understood the cache name nor had a good look at the satellite map that showed that the cache was not as 'roadside' as I had thought Then it took another 10min to locate the cache thx to the hint as GZ was out by 3-4m today. Wondering back home after the Alexandra event. 2885 so far for us. Thanks for placing this cache Rapidlywild, without cachers like you we wouldn't have a hobby. Signed log. took nothing, left nothing. Please take a bow. we did many caches today and most if not all were in good condition and actually there. We cache in a lot of country towns, the caches on the open roads are usually there but the town ones are a mixed bag. The cache owners around here take a bow. really well done.
A quick find on a beautiful spring day. When you sit on the side road you realize just how much traffic is passing by. How can so may people be travelling? All good with cache. Tftc

Headed out with DarksideDan for a few caches in Yass on a frosty Saturday morning. 6 hours later we had gorgeous warm weather, 40 caches under our belts and a fabulous lunch at the cafe in town. A great morning out getting some numbers with lots of laughs and a few interesting bird sightings on the way. Unless otherwise stated, caches found quickly and in good order.
Thanks Rapidlywild for the cache!

Can you say road trip. Today I headed out with AG27 to go on a caching road trip to Yass. Together we collected 40 caches. I took some excellent photos and had a stunning lunch. Thanks heaps for the cache.

Another big weekend in Canberra was over, and it was time to embark on my journey home to Melbourne. Once on the Barton Highway, there were plenty of stops as I left Canberra and the ACT and headed into NSW. It was a mere -5 degrees this morning; frost and ice everywhere! I noticed the C2Y series of caches on my way into Canberra on Friday - happy to grab most of them this morning. Thanks for the cache, Rapidlywild.
