In town for the Mega and now caching with my house mates for the weekend. A good walk around sitting in the car. Some searching fur some but we got there in the end. Some puzzles collected from lock down solving. We completed the signing duties and re hid. TFTC

Solved in preparation for a trip many years ago. A group find on an afternoon walk. TFTC.
This one had mystified me for a long time, and I have mumbled "great elephants" a lot of times under my breath. Eventually needed a little help to solve the puzzle. Today I visited wtih barb2e to finally add our names to the log. TFTC

Out on a solo ACT adventure on another perfect winters day. Glad I ventured down as the weather and rain in Sydney was atrocious.
Found a parking spot not to far away and made a quick find.

Out for an adventure with MuggleGeorge today. A rare treat. Thought we would try our hand at this one and thankfully came up successful!! Thanks for a great local puzzle. Thanks for the cache.
A field log. A clever puzzle that was right up our alley, although we didn’t see it at first. We were wary of spiders at GZ but muggles proved more of an issue. More to come. TFTC
#2018 Finished work a bit early today so nipped over from Weetangera to make this find. The puzzle was finally solved after a bit of a nudge at a recent Event after having it in my unsolved pile for quite some time. Thanks Hypohippo and AngelG27 for the cache.
Glad to knock this one off the bucket list today. TFTC

Helped by some input from a previous finder managed to solve the puzzle and made my way to GZ for a quick find. Thankfully didn't encounter any arachnids so log signed and replaced. TFTC Hypohippo and AngelG27
After paddling on Lake Burley Griffin early morning, then Lake Ginninderra late morning, with a caching colleague, we then ducked out here for a quick pick up before the cache disappears again.
On our way here there were many trees down from the recent storms . This included large branches off trees around GZ in and around the parkland. TFTC Hypohippo and AngelG27.

I'd had this solved from well before lockdown; today after a paddle on two lakes (one wasn't enough) it was great to be able to pick this up with a caching buddy.
Thanks, Hypohippo and AngelG27.
Thanks, Hypohippo and AngelG27.
Cache replaced. Next time it goes missing, it will be archived, so if you have solved and want to find it, hop to it! Cache on!
Worked out the solution a while back with our puzzle group.
This afternoon with torches we searched all the tree trunk holes at GZ seeing plenty of spider webs as warned. We spied a tree hollow about 2.5m up but given the T1.5 rating we did go up there.
We are pretty confident that the cache is missing.
We look forward to coming back to claim the prize after maintenance. Many thx.

Great to finally change this blue dot to a smiley. Worked out solution with my puzzle mates. Checker said yes but could not find container at GZ. Logged as found with permission of CO.

I am pretty sure the container is missing. I phoned the CO and had a good look but cache not found. Cool puzzle so it would be great to keep it going.
We had tried to help dty73 solve this one a long time ago, but just couldn’t get it.
Tonight as we were driving by dty73 mentioned this one. So we stopped for the find and sign.
Once explained to us how to solve we could see it clearly, but we’re sure we would never have figured it out ourselves.

Some caches my general knowledge comes in very handy - others, not so. I must say that I struggled with this and needed a nudge, but I got there. Clever, though. Finally, when visiting the CO, I reminded myself that I hadn't actually collected it (I reckon it was over a year since the solve). So a quick park, search and grab was in order and the smiley was mine. TFTC Hypohippo and AngelG27
Today was a pleasant sunny day and perfect for a 'top down' trip across Belconnen picking up some the of the new caches placed since my last trip, as well as some of the puzzles that have finally been solved.
All caches found without too much fuss, being on the coordinates. I was surprised at the age of some of them.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache

I surprised myself to solve this first crack. A quick find before attending a surprise party in the COs street.
I have been slowly working towards a couple of things. One is a challenge cache and one is just trying to keep my mind active. Thankfully I have had a great TEacher who has been helping me with the puzzles that I just can't get.
This one, like MANY from this CO has made me scratch my head until my brain falls out. I have looked and looked and looked at this one soooo many times. Finally the key on how to start was given to me, from there it was a whole lot easier to solve. How did I miss that?! Thank you TEach, I owe you an apple.
Finally at GZ this morning on the way to meeting friends for a walk up a hill (where I have already found all the caches) then we were going to have some breakfast. But right now it was foggy and too early for many to be out and about. So I was able to park near by and make the short walk to GZ. The cache thankfully was much quicker to find than the solve. Tftc Hypohippo and AngelG27!!!

I definitely had overthought this puzzle, many, many times! Its one that sits on my map yet to be found and taunts me that I could never see a way in. While discussing this the other day and it was offered did I want a hint? Want a hint, I needed a hint!
It was a subtle nudge in the right direction and it felt good to have a direction to start. With that it was smooth sailing and the information just fell out smoothly and I really did enjoy this puzzle as I was doing it. A few options for the last words but the obvious ones stood out and was very pleased to have finally got through on this one. Today I needed two caches for a challenge and this was perfect sitting solved ready to find, a lap or two and then it was spotted.
Thanks for the cache Hypohippo and AngelG27. I have seen this a few times in puzzles now, just wished I had thought to try it but will try to remember it in future ones!

I visited Smittengranny at her house for cuppa and chat.. I asked her come with me go find few caches for one hour and good Laugh...
In retrospect this should have been much easier. After looking at the mystery for a while and beeing very puzzled I asked for a hint from the CO. That was helpful and I had another short go at it but didn't quite get the hang of it. A little more trying with the original hint would probably have gotten me there but when I saw the CO on an event yesterday I could not resist confirming my idea and that way got an even bigger hint.
Even had a hunch for the code word which turned put to be correct
Today an evening run pickup in the dark. I hate winter time!
Thank you Hypohippo and AngelG27 for the puzzle and the hints.

Out for the second day of our Canberra blitz picking up puzzle caches that have been worked out for quite some time - some of them so long ago they've even been forgotten by this time. Anyway, this go around we flitted from suburb to suburb picking up park 'n grabs (or very nearly so) clustered around the northern end of the ACT. By no means a power trail as most were scattered here and there higgledy piggledy which turned into a slow moving day in terms of overall numbers but we were thorough and painstaking enough so that at the end of the long day we still managed to scratch our way past the sixty-cache threshold, which was about ten better than we'd hoped to do. A few finds turned out more challenging than we wanted but overall everything was found in short order and without major difficulty. Well done to the CO's on that score. Apologies for the copy n' paste logs - most puzzles deserve a few more words than this - but gathering in a couple hundred puzzles in a short span of time amounts very much to binging the area leaving little time to reflect on what brought us here. Not to worry, tho, everything has been well worth the effort, and will bring us back several more days before we're done. TFTC.
Another day spent ticking off solved Mystery caches in Canberra with 154Crows. It's been very rewarding to convert hours of puzzle solving into finds. This time around, we tackled the NW section of the ACT. Again, we had another big day - 61 Mystery caches (10% of remaining) with 0 DNF's!! Thanks to all CO's for their puzzles and hides (apologies for the generic logs).
I was going to have a day off caching but it got the better of me about 17:30 so I went for 2 very close caches and this was one of them. Eventually solved this one some time ago with thanks for the help

I'd briefly looked a this one a couple of times over the last few years, but recently attempted it in earnest. I was on the right track but took the wrong path. After a nudge from the CO the solution popped out. A quick find this afternoon. TFTC.

I tried to solve this puzzle multiple times over the last couple of months without success. So it was a magical eureka moment when I finally cracked it. Delightful! Collected the cache today when out collecting the kids. Nice hiding spot. A natural built hidey hole. Day 33 of my current streak. TFTP and TFTC.
After a maintenance from CO it was in one of the holes that previously we looked in and it was not there but now it is TFTC
checked on this cache, it appears to have gone missing again. another cache in place now. remember to bring gloves along! cache on!
Have enjoyed solving three Hawker mysterys by the CO. I think being a rank amateur puzzle solver helped me with this one. Although I was surprised when the checker gave the thumbs up. So me and one geoson visited the co-ords last night after soccer training over the road. No luck. And again this morning in the light we checked the more obvious hiding holes with no luck. Will come
back and try again though. Tftc.

Went for an afternoon walk on a very warm spring day. Logged with permission although the friendly CO may need to replace the cache
Out and about with my besty, Happy Uke, again today. We were out to catch a whole swag of caches and brag about it to all and sundry.
We had been visiting friends in Canberra and were gradually treking our way north in the direction of home.
Thanks!

Finalf29 and I were on our way home today, but after such a late night catching up with friends...we didn't get going until midday. I had planned a northern raid of Canberra caches... but my tablet had other ideas... so a quick change of plans. Got twelve (we did waste a lot of time on a DNF) before it started to rain, so gave up and set off home. Really enjoyed the caches and company... we cache for fun not numbers. With so many caches we definitely will return soon.
This was our first for the arvo. Only looked at it for the first time last night and scratched my head... I'm a numbers person not so good on words. Tried a couple of things then happen to get a phone call from the CO and she gave me a little push... got it start away. Woo hoo. While I was signing the replacement log, Finalf29 found the old lost container... so dropped it around to CO's house. Thanks

I tried to solve this puzzle multiple times back when it came out, and I solved the one nearby it with ease (Clashing Coniston) and found that at the end of last year.
I picked up this puzzle again recently and decided to have another crack at it, it didn't sound too hard as all I was looking for seemed to be a keyword and I would have the coords.
After reading the description more times and thinking through it something finally struck. Ahh that was easier than I thought!
Made the find today, there were a couple of angry magpies while I was signing the log though and they were walking very close to me, so I quickly got out of there and back to my car!
Thanks hypohippo

I had scratched my head over this one several times, and put it aside again ...had another go at a few of these blasted Belconnen blue dots on the map recently, so I had a few more closer options for daily finds ... solved another one I had got stuck on before, and then decided to have another look at this one ...
I tried something I thought I had tried last time, and this time it worked ...
TFTC - a few days after solving this, it came in handy for a short detour for my daily find, on my way to an art exhibition opening in Belconnen
(but now I have found them both - I guess I am going to have to see if I can solve a few more - lol

Thanks SpecimenX for discovering the micro ecosystem in the cache container - Nobel Prize nomination coming your way! But in the meantime, the container has been replaced with a brand new (ecosystem free) log. Cache on!
Out and about enjoying the sunshine after a bit of cabin fever to knock some puzzles off the good old "solved but unfound" list and whatever else came my way
Puzzle: This was another one I'd half heartedly looked at a couple of times before focusing my efforts for the solve. Saw something which led to a clue which then led to something else to get the green light from the checker-quite a quick solve really!
The find: Strolled over from the car and made the easy find but upon opening the cache....eewwww.... Seems this one has started to grow it's own ecosystem inside the container using the log as a food source [xx(][xx(]
Took a pic as signing is impossible.
Thanks for the neat puzzle and for the hide, hypohippo

After my walk in Kama I had a few unknown caches in Hawker to collect. Three caches that were easy finds after the solution had been found.

This puzzle was by far the hardest to solve. It took hours of staring, but eventually a thought clicked and we had the coords. Only 5 hours to solve the puzzle! [B)]

I looked at the puzzle plenty of times before suddenly the penny dropped and all was revealed. Geochecker gave me the ok and it wasn't until now that we were in the area to make the find. Loki had a shoe issue but given it was Spring, how cold could it be in bare feet? Very cold apparently!! [xx(] Made the find relatively quickly but long enough for the toes to become very painful. Ahh Canberra, lucky there are so many good aspects because the weather certainly isn't one of them! Thanks hypohippo [^]
As per normal - I had difficulties getting the in for the puzzle! So eventually ask for a hint from the CO. Seems that I had found the in, but didn't follow through with that! After that, the puzzle fell out nicely! So - off to find the cache, on a lovely warm day. Parked nearby, and as I approached GZ, had a bit of a groan... Oh, I hope it isn't there - I though to myself! But my fears were short lived, and the cache was found in a neat little hiding spot! Thanks for the fun hypohippo and AngelG27!
Now this one took a little solving. Although there are certain games I claim to be very good at so it really should n't have been quite as protracted as it was. I'll call that tiredness, inattentiveness, or perhaps just a general loss of puzzling mojo. Anyway, after a while the obvious did become obvious and as always with these things I wondered how on earth I had missed that in the first place. So with a day to myself I thought I might actually get out and about after a hectic few weeks so took the opportunity to head northside and pick up some caches. Enjoyed the wander and you're right....no hint needed.
Oh yeah!!! Been putting off trying to work this one out but managed to fluke the answer on my second attempt. Cool hidey spot.
Sitting at home, cracking ACT Puzzles for my next personal goal:
"Complete 100 consecutive Mystery Caches".
I have been sitting on this puzzle for about 30 minutes, reading and re-reading.
I decide to use the geochecker, and the first thing I halfheartedly enter -
BOOM, Congratulations ___ is the correct answer.
I don't know how I did that so smoothly in one swing!
It was worthy of a note log.
Now to come down and find the cache Thanks for the Puzzle, so far!

Popped past here on the way out to the kub kar rally. Found it in the spot I suspected it should have been last time. In terms of solving this, I think I found quite a few red herrings which here there by mistake, but eventually (after a bit of back and forth with the CO) I spotted the right things and was rewarded.
Thanks Hypohippo and AngelG27

Found 8:59 pm with LuckyL10n. I was out with LuckyL10n to grab a daily cache and find whatever else came into the radar or scope for the night. This one LuckyL10n had demystified and I've still got to clear some of the mystery but I did find the cache when out a GZ. We had earlier finished another nearby puzzle somewhat easier one to work out. This style of puzzle is not a preference of mine preferring codes and numbers. Thanks for the cache.
#3218 - 21:00; I had a look at this one when it was first published and I was indeed mystified. A tip off from a fellow cacher who had received sage advice from the CO at a recent puzzle night helped to demystify things a little and with a little bit more work, I too had produced that 'hey presto' moment referred to in the description. Having just grabbed another of the COs puzzles nearby on the nightly daily with MrDamage, we parked close to GZ for this cache and MrD soon produced the goods. Log signed and off to clear a few more of the new caches in this part of town. TFTC hypohippo and AngelG27
Sitting with both the CO's and fitzy at the recent puzzle event and a few ideas were exchange. Owners talking to owners is always good............and once the topic of this one came up, a hint was given and the plan was to check it out later. Fast forward to the next day and with a bit more exploring, lots of things came out...and once the checker was called into play, all was revealed. Nice, liked that.
Out this side of town for a run today to gather a few and stopped by the GZ to make a quick-ish find.
Thanks hypohippo......good to clean this one up.

9404 + 1060 = 10464. I had the pleasure of talking to the CO of this one at the recent Puzzle Event.
Happy to have solved this one last tuesday at the puzzle event so this morning before picking up my kids I did the slight detour to GZ and found the new cache neatly tucked into its hidey hole. Signed, returned it, and headed off. Very nicely done puzzle !

We came here from Clashing Coniston, but has no success. There was an obvious hide (which had been cleared of webs) but no cache. I snapped a pic of the hole and sent it to a previous finder who confirmed it was right. I'm guessing it is missing.
(407) The puzzle was indeed mystifying. I had several looks at it and played with a few ideas, trying them out with the certitude tool and getting nowhere. It turns out I was on the right track but didn't realise it. Yesterday arvo part of the description brought back an ancient memory. Could it be....? This time certitude said yes, and I punched the air.
The find. The GPSr wouldn't settle so I engaged cache senses and found it pretty quickly.
Tks hypohippo! I'm not sure if I solved it the way I was supposed to, but I got there anyway.
Hmm. Getting close to the 1000 cache mark. Might have to think about which cache should be number 1000.

I had looked at this one a couple of times and tried a few things, nothing seemed to be coming together. After chatting to a fellow finder, it seems I was on the right track at one stage however stopped when I should have followed through. Typical [:p]
So after a hike along the Centenary Trail yesterday with FurfacesLL and suffering a sprained ankle, I needed a relatively easy collection today. Driving proved to be an issue as I own a manual geomobile and it was my left ankle I threw out.
I had the green light on the checker which meant I was off to make the find on this one. The drive was slow but I got there in the end. The cache was quickly located, signed and returned. Guess I am claiming the official *TTF* on this one as the FTF finders were in a group.
Thanks for the interesting puzzle hypohippo3000 and AngelG27

We looked at this one when it was published and had an idea but couldn't quite get it to come together, so we left it for another day. FFLL No 1 picked it back up through the week and tried the first thought again, this time it came together and gave us the required information. Should have pressed on the first time....not to worry. We headed out as the storms were overhead for the find. Quick grab, then home before the skies opened up.

FTF #24 @ 1610! With Gepru and muggle Patrick (who may become a geocacher in the future).
When I first saw this one come out, I thought "Oh no! Not another 3.5 star puzzle!" I tend to overthink these ones and make the harder then they need to be which is why I prefer harder puzzles or easier puzzles. On first examination, I couldn't really see anything that could give me a hint of what was required. I tried a few things like I usually do and had no luck there either. Investigated a certain angle which also proved to be wrong. I was really stumped with this one and so were the other people I talked to. A few days passed and still nothing. I had given a bit of feedback as earlier requested and tried to draw out as much as I could from the response (which wasn't much ).
I decided to have another look at it this morning while getting ready for school and that is where the breakthrough came. The answer was in the very first thing I tried! I was just looking at it the wrong way! Put my answer into the checker and received the good ol' green light (or thumb) and got coordinates for GZ. It was unlikely that I was going to find it before school so I knew I would have to wait. I kept an eye on it during the day and when the final bell rang, no one else had solved it. I was doing some presentations before and after which only gave me about a two hour time gap to find the cache (which I took). I had checked the route timetables at lunch and spotted that I could make it there and back in time.
Dashed down to the bus stop with Gepru and Patrick and caught a bus over to GZ. It was raining fairly heavily by now but that didn't deter us on our Geomission! Jumped off the bus and then made the stroll over to GZ where the search began. My GPS was almost out of battery but it had just enough juice to get us close to GZ. I don't know if it was the clouds or the battery power of the GPS but I found the cache about 10m from the GZ I had but it was a fairly easy find given the hint. Log signed (think I forgot to put in the date as we didn't want to soak the log book) and cache replaced with its spider guardians.
This one is tricky, but it isn't hard once you know how to do it. Adding any hints would just ruin the puzzle but I think it does need to be rated higher than it is. TFTC hypohippo and AngelG27, I don't think there will be too many finds on this one though... I'll give it a fav point for the facepalm in the end!
After hearing from Cankid that there was another puzzle around to solve that was stumping him I jumped right to it. Unfortunately it stumped me too!
He came into school this morning excited that he had solved it, and we anxiously awaited the final bell so that we could run off. The time came, Cankid reported an 'all good to go' and Patrick, CK and I caught the first bus to the area. With his old faithful GPS running low on juice and rain pouring down on us, we finally found the cache nearby.
TFTC hypohippo and AngelG27. My first FTF (though joint, it is still cool)

updated the description slightly to make it clearer how to obtain an answer. happy caching!
I'm not sure if I should up the difficulty, if you could give some feedback please email me or write a note
