Another big day out in the Habanero Sport with Patrol14 & TMZ59…The plan/idea/couple of thoughts strung together, is to try and clear the map between Tiaro & Maryborough…
Seems like Maryborough was the place to be over Easter, couple more cachers and it might have been a Mega…
Our one and only DNF for the day… we had a good look, even taking into account the last logs…
Another day then…

Out for the day with Peppa and TMZ59 and are caching again around Maryborough and surrounds to find a few more caches.
This cache was not on our list but on the way so detoured to this one for a look.
Searched all hides but couldn't find any sign of a cache here. Will have to add to our list for another visit.

We found this cache during a lovely drive around on a quiet Sunday morning. The log was a mushy mess and crumbled and fell out so we put a new log in the container, signed it and replaced as found. Thanks Liz and Bruce for showing us this place.
Alyce and I made a spontaneous trip to Maryborough and brought the 4 youngest along for the ride. Our goal for the day was to grab the Brolly that we solved recently, but we forgot to download the list and had no internet when we arrived, so we decided to head into town to clean up some caches instead.
It was an action packed day filled with adventures and fun times. The kiddies enjoyed the experience but grew tired towards the end of the day. All in all we all had a fantastic day exploring Maryborough and the surrounding areas.
We had to be weary of a few muggles at the boat ramp as they were watching our every move, luckily we had the kiddies with us so I recruited one of them to search for us. It didn’t take him long and he had the cache in had and wandered back to the car for signing duties. Hopefully our presence went unnoticed but I’m certain they would’ve been curious.
Thanks for bringing us here.

Had a 20minute look around at gz and came up with nothing , this cache could be Mia
No sign of any cache here today for us, but we did find a Hard Drive magnet on the top of the sign, and nothing else!
On my way from Canberra to North Queensland with a few detours for shires. TFTC. I am glad I could find that one quickly and leave.
Luckily no crocs spotted today.
Thanks to CO’s for taking time to set out and maintain hides and for showing us your very special part of the world

On the hunting trail again with SeasonedBird. I’ll leave the more interesting & detailed log to Mrs Geo (aka: SeasonedBird, Salty Chook, the Old Boiler, Old Chook, Dirty Bird or Angry Bird) because she writes so much more eloquently than I and usually has much more time to do so while I’m driving. It’s a great day for caching. TFTC Liz and Bruce

TFTC. Lots of weed on the boat ramp and a bit slippery. Nice clever hiding spot Bruce
What a brilliant hide, I'd have never thought to look there, lucky Mrs GN was here. TFTC.
Logging old caches originally found with alphag_25. Now have my own account and logging them separately so that i can claim the finds or not as the case may be. TFTC.
04/07/21 Staying in Maryborough Camp site with Caravan and seeing the sights and grabbing some caches. I am on holidays from Mackay. Been to the Bond Store, Mary Poppins and Military Museum this morning. Great Day. Now caching. TFTC SL
There were no fishermen around today and with this we had the place to our self. Two possible
places to hide the cache and it was in the first place we looked. SL TFTC

Day 3 of our visit to beautiful Maryborough and our plan is to do the inner part of town then work our way around the surrounding areas.

TFTC. We were on this side of the Mary River after having driven up Beaver Rock Road. As we do not often get here we decided to do the couple that were here.
This was the last one for the day. A case of geo-senses leaving me. As I was talking to a PAF. I did what I should have done in the first place. Thanks Liz and Bruce.

10214 Located by baby&Mrs gopher 1050. We had to be careful of the nasty rusty barbed wire lying about the ramp this morning. A few of the local fishermen about floating and trailering boats. SL Tnx Liz and Bruce.
After a long day yesterday it was nice to get in a good night sleep and be ready for another long day today.
Today will be spent grabbing a few around town, a drive out to beaver rocks, re visiting a few I had already done and grabbing a helping hand on one I had a DNF on. Then it was back to finish off the trail before a detour outside of Gympie. Yes another long day, but a rewarding one for us all, (us being Willis007, Simber15 and myself).
Around town there were some very interesting caches; a few puzzles, a few trads, a couple of whereigos, some labs and even a few multis. All caches were found in good condition and logs signed with individual names today.
Thank you to all of the CO’s for the placements and the maintaining of these for us all to enjoy. I am guessing I will be back again for some more up here as I did not get to complete everything, lol.
It was a fun day with lots of laughs and some entertaining sights along the way.

After a needed steak and chips, and a good night's sleep, our team consisting of Simber15, Chamad and myself, kicked day 2 of our caching weekend off by collecting some of the fabulous caches around Maryborough. I love the themes and quirkiness of the town centre, the AL and caches were very clever, and the murals are fantastic. A big shout out and thank you to the COs here. We then headed out to finish off the 101 trail.
This was an easy find, no problems at gz or with the cache, loved this hide, a fav point from me.
Thanks to Liz and Bruce.

Day two of our Maryborough adventure. Chamad suggested we start in the centre of town and complete the AL's before targeting some nearby traditionals, multi's and an earthcache. We also came prepared with some pre-solved puzzles and built a lap around Maryborough. After a break for lunch coupled with the Makku Mob we headed back onto the 101 Geo trail. Loved the adventures with Chamad and Willis007. Maryborough has a wonderful collection of unique hides and quirky art which we enjoyed very much. I will look forward to another opportunity to find some more!
After we had a beautiful time at the recent events in Kilkivan, we headed on further North for caching.

Easy grab but I ly once I eliminated a few spots and read a couple of helpful logs.
On the way out a guy with a guitar was filming a country music video by drone near the canefields up the road.

I had a day free to do some caching in Maryborough. This was one of the caches that I found.
I found the cache in the second place I looked. I opened it up to find it chock full of an ants nest. I tapped everything out of the cache but they have been feasting on the log sheet a bit. I have no idea how they get into the container.

Second time lucky I was, I did have some help though so can’t take the credit for this one, super good hiding spot, can see why some have not located it, all I can say is look harder and be patient, top hats have always been popular
Couldn’t find. Not sure if gone as there has been a lot of rain recently or we just weren’t looking hard enough.
Arriving at GZ wombles and I were happy to find it muggle free. There was a car parked but the owner must have already been out on the river. It’s always nice to be able to hunt in peace. I’m sure that’s what the crocodiles think too
We certainly were not looking to feed any today so made sure to stay up from the boat ramp. Plus it looked muddy and slippery. I could just imagine taking a walk down there and sliding straight into the mouth of a waiting predator
Wombles made quick work of locating the beasty we had really come here to see.
Thanks for the cache Liz and Bruce

Driving to Maryborough this afternoon, spending the night there and then on to a job on Thursday morning.
Nighttime drive around MB to collect more caches, far better than sitting in a motel room.
No lizards in sight but a ute that left shortly after I turned up.
Thank you for hiding this cache

House sitting at River Heads for a few months and today is for discovering some caches in Maryborough. TFTC.
A bit of education was needed for us Victorians on the whereabouts of Crocodiles. It was a surprise to learn that they come as far south as Maryborough, due, some might say to Global Warming. The obligatory snap was made of the warning sign with Mr Greynomads standing next to it. A fisherman told us the warning sign was for real and a dog had been taken near the weir last year.
A quick find was made and we high tailed it out of there to safer ground.
Greynomads - Bill and Diana TFTC TNLN SL Thanks Liz and Bruce

A ride in the forest yesterday. A ride in town today. Out with Evie again to visit a few more caches. Mixed fortunes today with the muggles and the finds.
The first stop for the day. Nice and quiet here. I was pretty sure I was safe from the crocs this morning. The cold start would slow them down.

I'm scared of crocodiles so I didn't take anything to feed them nor did I dilly dally around in case one appeared. It was a quick find and left signature and replaced cache. TFTC

Travelled to Hervey Bay to see my oldest girls first day in prep, had a few hours to spare before and after school and I don't get to come up here very often so I thought I would clean the map up a little bit.
3 days travelling and camping led to some decent finds which was great. This was first on the trip. After driving overnight from Brisbane and camping in Tairo for a few hours, then a few hours caching around town. Then overnight back to Brissy for work.
I often don't try to feed the crocodiles. But when I do...well I actually don't. Made sure I kept the distance, afterall I wasn't going to start becoming crocodile food today. This was a nice sneaky hide which gave great pleasure when I eventually found it. Log was signed and replaced as found and I was off. Beating the sunset.
Thanks for the cache Liz and Bruce, love trapsing around the area

9 - 12 for today.
Sitting around after lunch with our hosts and it was suggested that we continue our conversation while doing a few local caches.
What a great way to experience some of the local points of interest.
Thought it might be a bit far south to meet a crocodile, but one never knows.
Visited trackables.

#1457 This cache has been on my list to do for my last couple of visits home. Used to ride bikes after school along the many tracks that used to be around here. (School is just nearby up the hill) (mind you there were no signs warning of crocs in those days!) As usual the muddy Mary has been depositing plenty of the brown sticky stuff on the boat ramp so kept clear of that. A nice sneaky hide but the log was nevertheless duly retrieved and signed. TFTC Liz and Bruce (and thanks for the memories)
We are caching around the Maryborough district while visiting with Liz and Bruce. In fact we went out for the morning doing some caching, visited the markets in town and learned some interesting details about the history of the district as well as some info about the Mary River.
The tour was very interesting and a lot of fun.

A wander down by the riverside,
and "Achtung !! Beware of the Mary River Crocodile !!"
Haven't they caught that croc yet ?? [:o)]
While it is very, very, very unlikely that there is a danger here,
I didn't approach the water.
It's just too muddy and slippery on the boat ramp
Out of reach of the croc,
I soon found this sneaky cache hide [^]

Found while out and about exploring Maryborough, this is a spot we probably wouldn't have seen had it not been for your cache. There was a rather nice yacht tied up on the opposite side of the river.

Our search was cut short by muggles. We were more nervous about snakes in the long, dry grass than crocodiles!
3rd and coolest find of the day. Geosenses really came in handy. I never expected crocs would inhabit waters this far south.
