Found this one with TTO1 and TTO2 today. TTO1 and I are touring New Zealand with TTO2 for a couple of weeks and our travels brought us by this cache. So, we just had to stop and find it. I love challenge caches, so was glad that we could stop and find this one. I went ahead and ran the ProjectGC checker for this one and it confirms that I do qualify. Ive shown the results of the checker run below. Were really enjoying our visit and have been exploring lots of cool spots. Im sure that we will still have a lot that we didnt get to see on this trip, so I look forward to coming back again some time to see some more of this beautiful country. Another cool challenge that I was happy to qualify for! Sadly, though, I could not get the container open. Sometimes my hands just aren't big enough to grasp a cache lid. Including photo proof that I found the cache as well as my qualifications for the challenge. I knew that my next stop would involved a 2 night stay which I was really looking forward to - getting up and driving to a new spot every day is exhausting! It was a little cloudy and windy in the morning but eventually the sun came out to greet me. I had a lot of caches to find, so good weather was going to be helpful if I wanted to make it to Wellington by the time I had planned. It was a great day of caching in New Zealand. I knew my trip here was soon coming to an end, so I wanted to enjoy every minute. Many thanks to the COs who placed and maintain these caches for folks like me to find.

Hello from Seattle! After an amazing trip along the southern coast of Australia heading from Sydney to Adelaide to attend a Mega-Event with my fellow Lackey and best Geobuddy Giacaches, we headed over to New Zealand for a week of caching and adventure - as I often say, we've never been closer, so it made perfect sense to plan for a stop. We have a loop around the North Island on the schedule, and I'm so excited to see all the things there is to see!We ~can't~ don't pass up challenge caches when we travel, so we had to come out to this road today to pick these up. A great way to kick off a wonderful (slightly rainy!) day!May the geocaching gods bless the people who can make these checkers! Here are my results: [jtcoffee](https://www.geocaching.com/profile/?u=jtcoffee) has used [Project-GC](https://project-gc.com/Challenges/GC5GQPT/2372 "Project-GC Challenge Checker") to see if they qualified for this challenge and they did.D: Denigrating State of Caching in Seattle, GCTPJ5, 3.5, found on 2014-10-24I: In the thick of it, GC1F29Y, 2.0, found on 2011-07-23F: For the Mega Commuter!, GC32ZGN, 1.5, found on 2011-10-13F: Flight 255, GC16A62, 1.0, found on 2012-02-12I: Ice Cream Fit For a Queen, GC2MAG6, 2.5, found on 2012-02-10C: CWAV - Robison's Folley II, GC2G7T8, 3.0, found on 2011-09-19U: Under the Haus, GC4Y1DT, 4.0, found on 2019-04-03L: Let's Go Climb a Tree (a.k.a. Greetings from Seattle! I traveled down under with jtcoffee to attend the Great Leap Forward Mega-Event in Adelaide on Leap Day. Of course, a trip from Seattle to Australia just wouldn't be complete without a detour through New Zealand Per usual, We're squeezing in as many extra activities as we can, including, but not limited to: Logging our geocache finds in the southern hemisphere Finding Australia's oldest, [GC3E](https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC3E) at Lane Cove, and the first-ever Earthcache, [GCHFT2](https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GCHFT2) Enjoying the spectacle of Taylor Swift's Eras Tour in Sydney Cruising along the scenic Great Ocean Road Completing a challenge that requires finding 31 Earthcaches and 31 Virtuals in 31 days ([GC32TBZ](https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC32TBZ) and [GC32TC2](https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC32TC2)) Exploring the iconic Lord of the Rings filming locations across New Zealand I love challenge caches and this is a fun idea! Great to be out and about with hubby on leap day collecting a few caches today before the weather turns to custard. Have finally able to go searching for this cache, as my cache write note on 3/12/23 gives my cache finds which shows I qualify. A good geo trail here, so relatively easy find. Thanks The Seagnoid for an another great challenge. Favourite given for that reason.

So I wasn't in a hurry and stopped at various caches or nice places. Thanks to everyone for their caches and greetings from the Czech Republic. I will check the fulfillment later.

I had signed up for an event called 'The Mudder' in Marton, at the Rangitikei Farmstay, and thought that it was the perfect excuse to take a couple of days off work and go on a 5-day road trip to Whanganui and Palmerston North. All up I travelled 1,650km and found over 200 caches/ad lab stages mostly targeting high favs.Left my accommodation in Himatangi Beach quite early to make the most of the daylight hours before heading back home to Auckland. The gale-force wind overnight had knocked out power over most of the west coast of the lower North Island and blown half of the beach onto my car. It was still quite strong the next day making for a challenging trip with evidence of the storm seen along the way. I travelled along here early in the morning so there were very few passing muggles. Parking was a little challenging here but I had no trouble locating this cache and was quickly on my way.[Aiden29](https://www.geocaching.com/profile/?u=Aiden29) has used [Project-GC](https://project-gc.com/Challenges/GC5GQPT/2372 "Project-GC Challenge Checker") to see if they qualified for this challenge and they did.D: Dance the purple chicken, GC5MTA3, 1.5, found on 2016-03-30I: Inverse Wipe Trove (Auckland), GC1M72X, 1.0, found on 2017-01-28F: From Royalty to Royalty, GC606CT, 2.0, found on 2016-04-29F: Friendly Frankton Rotary (Waikato), GC4QB4V, 2.5, found on 2016-07-17I: I dinna ken puzzles, Ken. Heading north again today we had this series on our must do list. We qualified for this one when we checked several years ago, so it was good to have the opportunity to finally claim a find. Thankfully the road was quiet today and Mrs nzk managed to keep her feet dry at GZ. All good here, thanks to the Seagnoid for the challenge and cache.

It's been difficult to find the time to park the derrière on the pew to log these NZ challenges. But with the current streak souvenirs in July on offer, no better time to log a few each night.

The caches below tell a story. I was happy to just pick up an easy cache in the early days and slowly progressed to more difficult cache finds over the years. It certainly demonstrates I'm a slow learner . . .

It's with fond memories that this challenge series reminds me of the cool and windy weather encountered. Glad I was driving at this stage and the ladies went out in the bleak conditions while I looked after the complexion by using moisturizer while I waited for their return back to the car. Thanks to the Seagnoid for setting up the challenge series.

Day 6: We ( TeamARF, Gcoven and myself) have travelled over from Brisbane, Australia to have a visit since we were not able to make it to the Mega. We have spent some considerable time solving puzzles and making plans in preparation. We have a gigantic list of old, interesting, highly favourited, challenges and a few Geo-arts to try and collect over the next 10 days. There is a good chance we got lazy with our logging, or space saving depending on the log size and do some joint variation of our initials - TGJ, GJT or JGT.

Today the plan is to work on collecting things of our list - in particular a bunch of great challenges (will check qualifying once home), some massively favoured caches, desired challenge fillings for back home and making a start on the Kiwi Geo-art.

Please excuse the generic log, just have extremely little data to try and survive on it for the 10 days. However, you can be assured that if we have found your cache it was special to us for some reason or in a special location - so thank you for contributing to our holiday.

I will edit logs when back in Brisbane to add more details to those that need more details and of course I will be adding favourite points as I go along.

spent 6 great weeks in New Zealand with my The start was a bit bumpy (Cyclone Gabrielle) but then it got better and better. We travelled to both islands and discovered a lot. We photographed and filmed many beautiful things, but most of it stayed in our hearts.
Almost everywhere we stopped, a cache was already waiting for us. Most of the caches are well maintained and easy to find.

With mostly very nice Cool weather, we saw a lot of this impressive island. In many places, caches were waiting for us, which were sometimes easy and sometimes difficult to find. This cache was also included and was successfully signed

We puzzled a lot in advance and the tours were well prepared Wink
So this box was also well found.

now I have another Smile on my personal cache card.

many thanks to [^] **the Seagnoid** [^] for the effort and the cache and greetings from Germany

While driving from Taranaki to Wellington this challenge cache bunch was naturally nonpassable. 6 qualifying ones had been preselected and project-gc checker approved those. All where easily found from exact coordinates. Sorry for copy-paste log to all and not separately adding evidences. Might do that when back home in Finland after our 2mth long trip (too clumsy and costly eith mobile phone). Thanks for the challenge trail!

Checked before leaving home on the off chance we had the time to come and see if we could find this challenge cache. According to Project-GC we did and we found ourselves with a wee bit of time on our way back north. I made the find much harder than it needed to be and got a wet foot into the bargain which was the last straw for me and I lost the plot a little on getting back to the car and trying to find something dry, interrupting GAR on the phone in the process. It was a way too extreme reaction which I realised pretty quickly. Maybe I was just hangry. Anyway, the caches collected to qualify for this cache:

The rain won't stop us as we make our way to Bulls it my fist time in this part of the country and enjoying every step along the way and having a blast on my Te Araroa adventure.
So we managed to get out and on down the line .
A dry night in a cabin gave us a chance to get dried off and showered.
And a day off to explore and pick up a few caches , luckily a good friend was free to drive me around a bit .
Tomorrow we set off in surch of the north is land terminals of the Te Araroa and then on to the mainland and south to bluff.

Living life one foot steep at a time as i walk from cape reinga to bluff and caching my way home as I walk the
Te Araroa and discover the hidden treasures new Zealand has to offer.
From the beach of the north to the forest and lakes of the south
Blùff here i come

Getting out and about int the out doors is my happy place so any excuse to go caching.

Life is short. Live one foot step at a time.Never say" I'm gonna "- Just do it!!

What to do on a long weekend. Organise a trip to the mighty Manawatu So here we are. Team BoP on a mission. Day three of what has been a fabulous trip. Unfortunately have to head home today. Many thanks for bringing us here.

I am logging using the Cachly app template so please excuse generic logging along the way. It’s just my way of keeping track, but I do genuinely thank each and every one of you cache owners for taking the time and energy to place these cache. Many Thanks for bringing me here. Cheers.

Team BOP back together after a 3 month hiatus - this time hitting the Manawatu with our sights set on some Labs, some geo-art & everything else that crosses our path ??

We’ve signed our logs as Team BOP to save time and log space and have thoroughly enjoyed the journey so far. Pleasantly surprised that very little maintenance has been required and that most caches have been found quickly & without fuss.

While I am cut&pasting these logs using the Cachly ‘text template’ I do genuinely appreciate the work put into these caches, particularly some of the puzzles. Cheers and TFTC ????

All good here. TFTC.

Travelling up from Wellington at the start of a lower Nth Island road trip that will take the best part of 10 days. Hopefully a few caches along the way, but we need to stop and smell the roses too, so most of them we get will be targeted with some specific goal in mind.

We are on our summer holiday, we usually take a few weeks and travel around the South Island, but this year we are heading around the North Island. Heading up the West coast and back down the East coast. Finding only a select few caches along the way, we are mostly targeting some challenges we have qualified for, some large size caches, some that fill gaps in our date placed grid, a few D/T combinations, some with lots of favourite points, letterboxes and anything else that grabs our fancy.

We have qualified for nearly all of the challenge caches down this road and as I enjoy challenge caches it was on our target list of caches to find.
Here are our qualifying finds...

#1143. I was on a mission over the last few days to get a bunch of virtuals, letterbox hybrids, challenge caches and any traditionals that happened to get in the way during my trip to Wellington. This cache right here was one such challenge cache.

I only qualify currently for #2, #3 and #7 in the series so far. I parked halfway between #2 and #3 and walked to each one. The cache was an easy find!

So I have a week off between jobs and so I have decided to get a return rental from Christchurch to Auckland and spend 7 days travelling and getting all of the Geotour caches via a Gisbourne. Also tried to get a few extra cool caches on the way. I would say that trip was not for the fainthearted and as a solo driver it was tough especially with all of the roadworks and detours in place. I was glad to have visited these locations but if I was to travel this route again I would take at least 2 weeks to really absorb some of the local landscapes more.

Day 3; Now at the lower North Island and having not realized it was Wellington Anniv day, the 'quiet' parks were not so quiet. I needed to get off the SH to get away from the traffic and this series of cache I thought would be great to help with my DT grid.

======== NZ Mega 2020 ========

Planning for the NZ Mega 2020 event is well underway. It will be held in Auckland over Labour Weekend, 22 to 25 October 2021 (delayed due to Covid-19) . It's going to be a massive celebration of geocaching:

20 years of geocaching worldwide.
20 years since New Zealand had the very first geocache hidden outside of USA.
And it's 2020 - all the 20s!
Talk to your geo-friends and start planning to be part of this event - you won't want to miss it!

Finally our trip to New Zealand is real! We started with half a day in Singapore and then we continued to New Zealand before finalizing the trip with 2 days in Sydney.

We have been able to see a lot, fantastic nature, many different and new birds and also a "few" geocaches.

Thanks a lot for the cache - Greetings from Sweden!

Day 1. Wellington to Palmerston North today.
The Seagnoid, Zara, Toby and I are camped out in Island Bay and on the road by 6am, heading to Petone Market, for some much needed vegetables for our trip. Thankfully no traffic this early. Then its on the road to Palmerston North to spent the evening with the Etherlord Clan. Added bonus having a girls night out in Zara Bus.

I was in this area over 4 years ago & this cache wasn't accessible because of flooding - or so it seemed at the time. Returning, I'm not so sure that I couldn't reach it.
Anyway - my list is copied from my 6/2015 log. Thanks for the interesting Challenge, the Seagnoid.

We could find this geocache during our holiday in New Zealand. Today we drove from Wellington to Whanganui and along the way we took some geocaches. We targeted old caches but also caches with lots of favo's and some challenges. We visited parks and dunes and rural areas and Bilbo's house. We had fun with two aMAZEing caches. Once we arrived in Whanganui we explored the city and took some extra caches. This cache was one of them. Thanks for this one!

We contiuned our roadtrip today by driving from Himatangi Beach to Motouapa. We tried to keep the driving distances short to have time to stop for great look outs and obviously for some caches. These five challenges were on our bucket list since we were qualified to log them before flying here all the way from the other side of the globe. TFTC and greetings from Finland!

Day 3 of our New Years trip up to the North Island. This was find #11/100 for the day and #80/526 of our trip.
Today was a numbers run of mostly PnG caches. We started in Palmy and set off to see if we could Spell, then headed up to Bulls and after that rounded up a few Smurfs, Herbs, Airplanes and anything else in the way until we came in to finish the KAS trail we started in Oct 2016. A nice easy find here. as we just followed the heotrail right to the cache. Had to flick the resident bug of first though. We left our new signature item here, a Rainbow Beadtail. Thanks for the effort involved in placing and creating this Challenge cache for all of us to enjoy. Smile

We had already added our [quailfing list](https://www.geocaching.com/seek/log.aspx?LUID=897191c1-f4f2-4dd0-a232-eef615f760a3) in Sep 2015 but I think I like the new one better.
