Such a beautiful morning in the sunshine! Thanks for the D/T point 1Log is wet and needs replacing. Thanks for find #461!
Wow was this packed today. Road going back 1km with cars! Even RACV down here haha. Likely a good thing as means a ripper spot.
This one was a DNF for us last time we did this walk. Today it was a quick find! Love this dog friendly walk and while it was a windy day the path is nice and protected.
We are supporting five scouts as one, our geogal, completed her Adventurous Hike for the Peak Award. We waved goodbye to them at New Haven to do the car shuffle and did some caches. We now had touched base with the Scouts at the start of George Bass Coastal Trail. We adjusted backs, they had snacks they were carrying andxwe topped up their water. Off they went. Scout leader Hubby followed from a distance, so doing a few caches helped slow him down. Eas initially challenged by this but soon located it. Log was wet. Thanks for the cache.
Finally got the chance to take in the sights and try this walk along the coast.Picked the cooler of the 2 days and set off from Punch Bowl to Killy, and certainly think this was the best way to do it if your fitness level isn't great!Happily enjoying the track and closed in on this sneaky hide. It was rush hour as the log was retrieved, and needed to wait out the muggles and their doggos before replacing everything as found.
TFTC SL - I have walked the Bass Coast Coastal Walk from Punchbowl to Kilcunda many times but never thought to check for any caches. So here I go again with 3 dogs in tow to hopefully find the first four.
I initially was looking on the wrong side of the track but had it in hand as soon as I changed sides. Cache log was very wet with half of it in a mashed up ball of paper. The other half was not too bad and I was able to sign it after drying the log and the bag in the wind

This is such a lovely coastline to walk along. I’ve never walked along here. I think I’ll be back again thank you for placing
Found with Eudes at 11:15am as we continued on the GB Coastal Track. This one was easy enough but we had to hurry to keep up with the main group.
thanks Gonefishen07

Second of this GBCW cluster and following a peek at the hint to save time, we soon spotted the stash at 11:15 and it was off to try and keep up with the main group.
TNLNSL, although our BYO pen geocoin had a visit to mark the occasion. Thanks Gonefishen07.

This was the end of the walk for Suscoe today.
A quick find and sign.
This has been a lovely walk and this trail is a stunner for the views.
We are looking forward to the chance to continue walking further along this trail on our next vist down this way.

Tftc. Log is sadly soaked and ripped whilst we tried to write. Mozzies found me faster than I found the cache.
Heading back home today but decided to walk from Kilcunda to Punchbowl first. Good idea as it was another great day.
Finally I found a cache before my wife, log was slightly damp but ok to write on

After the Ham Fish event further along this track, we started heading back to the car and had to stop to collect the geocaches along this part of the coast line. We were in too much of a rush to get event to stop before the event, unlike a number of names that we discovered in the log with today's date.
With good coordinates, I found this one in the first place I looked. Log a little damp, but fine to sign.
Thanks for the cache Gone Fishen 07

*Found on the 10 Sep 2022 @ 9:17 am.*
*Cache find # 13237.*
I was heading along this trail on my way to the Brunch by the Beach event and not far out from the carpark, I caught up with Tiz13 and Kashbound so we decided to stop for a look at the 4 caches along this trail before we arrived at the event.
This one took a bit longer to find as we were heading up the embankment to where the GPS was pointing until Tiz read in the description that we didn't need too.
**Thanks to Gonefishen07 for placing this cache.**

A systematic search with 6 hands and eyes is always easier than 2. We all had different GPS systems Kashbound and SteMicMitSar had the very technical Garmin type devices while I had my phone.. I think we were all getting different reading so we stretched out about 6 Meters along the path and soon had the cache located and signed.
Read description helps a lot. Added new log as other full and soggy so not sure how dry it will stay

Couldn’t find this one, it might have a been a situation of not being able to see the forest for the trees.
Found with icw. The log was wet, but we managed to leave our marks on it. Tftc.
Like the previous person, could not find this cache, found a spot where it could of been without leaving track, but no sign of cache.
Neat little find, TFTC!!! was unable to sign as the log was very wet, but still awesome! Cheers
#4539 Our last full day on our week long stay down by the coast. After some average weather over the last few days, it was great to see the sun again and little less wind. This section of the George Bass Coastal Walk caught our attention for some exercise after lunch.
Being a long weekend, it is certainly busy along this trail today. However, we were able to spy the container here, then check that the coast was clear (pardon the pun), complete signing duties and replace between muggles. Another speccy location. TFTC Gonefishen07.

two hours away two people were trying to fit a fridge into a fridge nook three sizes too small
via the magic of telephony we suggested shrinking the fridge
or chiselling out a larger hole
neither suggestion was adopted, but no matter
we had other things to attend to here
and we got to get the over-sized fridge
this is a cracking walk
we organised a car shuffle but no-one would have minded doing the return trip
sheer cliffs of rugged rock, lush meadows atop, scenic beaches of golden sand, glitz and glamour, a majestic vista through and through
and a bonus of some treasures scattered along the way
come do this trail y’all

Walked the 14km round trip along the George Bass coastal trail.. spent a long time looking for some of these caches as well..
So took the wife on a short break over Christmas and New Year, along with that came the mandatory lets find some caches each day.
Started just before Christmas down in Metung in Gippsland and explored the area as well as visiting the koalas on Raymond Island and the beaches of lakes entrance.
After that we spent a few days in Kilcunda and walked the George Bass trail as well as a visit to Philip Island.
A pretty great trip to relax over Christmas and New Year.
Ended up finding 50 caches and 3 new travel bugs as well as placing one... unfortunately I also had 8 did not finds which I think is a record for me.
The caches took me to some wonderful places as I got to see Koala's, Seals, Dolphins and heaps of spiders and creepy crawlies..
sorry for the generic log.
Thanks for the cache and the hide

Today my distance senses were pretty well attuned. A number of times I stopped to check my device, only to find I was within metres of my next targeted cache. A pretty good feat, given the undulating and twisty terrain! Found this one with no problems, and since the track was very quiet on a Tuesday afternoon there was no need for muggle dodging. The log is a bit damp. TFTC
Evidence of people heading to the bushes is right yet the hint you do not need to leave the track is right. Cute cache tftc
I've had this walk on my list of walks to try for a while, and when our CEO decided we ought to all have a day off, it was a great opportunity to go down to the sea again. Cool but not too cold, would have preferred a little more wind, but the waves were rolling in pretty good all the same.
This one was nicely hidden, on the way back I had to carefully look at the correct spot before I spotted it again. Thanks for the cache. A nice walk.

Having just found the wabbit, we were looking for a bison. Good to read the description thoroughly: no need to leave the track.
Slight breeze getting up, spectacular views and I am the only walker on the track. Doesn't get much better than this!
Cache found after a short search. Log signed and I was on my way to the next

21/01/2019 - 8.34pm -- No. 1011 - 2nd of 4 finds for the evening.
Headed out with Non-Geo Son who had some gaming he wanted to continue with in the San Remo area. The walk was lovely & evening was balmy, 3km for me & 4km for NGS with many photo's taken. The stroll was nicer on the way out with the steep bits saved for the dark, torch lit walk back to the car.
I had no trouble finding what was needed then NGS used his longer strides to do his while I did mine after this find. No muggles or wriggling sticks were seen or heard, I liked that!. Cache found after a slight misdirection by the finding device, signed log & returned as found with a replacement log as the original was a bit worse for wear (damp & darkish & almost full). Thanks for the cache

Signs of people ignoring the fact that you don't have to leave the track. Still a nice easy find. The log is very wet. I could still write on it but it was wanting to tear.
Easy find. Container is not attached to the tie anymore and the log is wet and needs to be replaced
We were looking for a place to enjoy a wintery walk today and decided to return to George Bass Walk and revisit this track. Today was a perfect day to enjoy the coastal walking track before the weather heats up. This was a great cache but the moisture has got to the log. It’s a shame we didn’t bring spares. Thanks for the cache.
I followed the GPS and searched with finder telling me to go all over the place. THEN I read the hint and the cache page again and redirected my search. A few more likely spots available here, but the first I tried was all I needed. Log damp but writable. Lots of little birds around GZ today on this dry but cloudy afternoon. Clouds are becoming threatening so I’d better get back to the car.
Finding it a little hard to plan for which caches to target due to testing on the work site being dependent on others we found they had a problem which meant a caching window suddenly opened up.
A nice cliff too coastal walk to see what George had on offer. A good range of hides and nice views along the way. TFTC.

*The George Bass Walking Track has beckoned us for a long time! Today walking this section became a reality as we headed home after a wet and windy week around Phillip Island. The walk was fantastic, a little wet underfoot in places and very windy in the exposed areas, where of course the views are superb.*
Spot on co'ords meant this one was quickly in hand.
**Feedback To CO:** The log is very wet - sorry we didn't have a replacement.
Thanks Gonefishen07 for placing caches for everyone's enjoyment.

I was out and about with Biggles Bear down Kilcunda way on our monthly caching adventure. We were taken a little bit off track searching for this one. After a few minutes of searching, someone read the cache page, and the cache was soon found. The log is a little damp, but can still be written on easily.

Quite a distance from the car, and less muggles crossing my path, but the overcast weather made the walking a delight. Got to GZ, and after a short search found it @ 1405, GAFF1

My friend (sbspink) has had the punchbowl walk on her 'to do' list for a while and today was the day we ticked it off. She asked our family last night if we would like to join them and we jumped at it. Before going to sleep I checked out what caches we could get on the way - of course.
The weather was perfect for walking the trail today. The sky was clouded over but no rain about. We dropped one car off at Kilcunda and drove to the punchbowl for the start of our journey. What a magnificent walk, the views were amazing and the sound of the waves crashing against the rocks is mesmerising. Many times the kids would just stop and look at the view and take it all in. Amazing! Thank you Gonefishen07 for placing these caches.
We found this one after some searching. There were many tracks of trampled vegetation making us think it was further off the track but after a bit of perseverance we had this little one on hand. You do not need to leave the track to find this one.

Headed down to Wonthaggi with gwd.aussie to attends the events and do a bit of caching. It is a pity that we are only doing a section of the track - having (pre-caching) walked this track it is very picturesque.

A great day spent on the road, caching along the way down to Wonthaggi where I spent much of the day before heading back up to Blind Bight. A nice hike along the George Bass Coastal Walk to start the day off and there were some great views along the way. It was quite warm and not windy today making the challenging trek all the more pleasant. This was one of four 'George' caches found during the 3km or so hike. I didn't find this one on the first look but on my return some further searching and I finally found it.

Continuing along on the walk here with LHE Duo, it was really a very pleasant afternoon to be out, yes maybe there was some grumblings from the distance in the sky, however nothing that actually eventuated nearby.
So we got to this one and although GZ said one spot went off looking in a bunch of other spots before finally coming back to where I started and making the find on a little close look.

#723 - Slowly on my way down to Inverloch for some coast caching over the long weekend. Couldn't resist stopping at some caches on the way down while getting a good chunk of a Wherigo done.
As I approached Phillip Island, I then had to decide what to do for the rest of the afternoon and I decided I felt like going for a walk! I parked the geo-mobile at the Punch Bowl carpark on Punch Bowl Road and walk until I felt like turning back. The Sun was out now and a cool breeze made the walk very enjoyable.

I couldn't find Georges or anyone else's bison for that matter. I tried again on the way back but still no go. Thanks anyway, I enjoyed the walk, even when it was raining.
We had a bit of trouble with this one - my GPSr seemed to be all over the place. In the end we left it and continued the walk, assuming it had been muggled. Mr Squalid gave it another shot on the way back and found it straight off! Caching is weird like that sometimes. Thanks for the hide.
Today Dunko, JT123 and I set out to find a few caches before the afternoon rain. We found ourselves doing mild bush bashing, scenic walks and drive-bys all added to a great outing

We are trialing Jane's new GPS watch on this afternoon's walk. It's a powerful little beasty with lots of functions but the one real lesson today was "don't watch the watch while walking!" The lesson was reinforced with grazed knees and elbows and lumps of skin out of palms. The bison was quickly found and we were soon on our way.
Found at 1:47 PM GAFF4 in the company of Blackjack (not a cacher, but a long time camping friend). We were looking on the wrong side of the track for ages until we were directed to the correct side We later met Graling and had a chat.

Was cleaning the holiday house at Cape Woolamai after a week off when these caches popped up so decided to go get them as I knew the hords where at the Wonthaggi coal mine at Gonefishen New Years Event ( yes I know Leesa not happy that I didn't attend sorry but had to clean the house. ) so I knew I would have the upper hand on these as I was closer, it was a hot walk along the cliff but it is still a great walk. Thanks Gonefishen for the cache.
