Unfortunately this was a bit tricky for us today in the short time we had to look
11/2/2024 Find #6833A day out and about with KezzBear and KBreeAHH on a bit of a maintenance check for KezzBear before she ups and leaves us for a new life of adventure. The day was filled with fun, food and memories but with a tinge of sadness too knowing this would definitely be our last adventure together for some time. We did wonder if we would make the find here. There had been quite some wet weather since it was last found and we were concerned it may have affected the hide. However we were keen to give it a go, wanting a surprising success. And after some searching, we did it!! We made a great find and it came with much unloved!!Thanks for the cache Pigwig2.
Last cache for today and had a quick stop off nearby
was able to find pretty quick

Weather too nasty to ride today, so off in the car to hunt some smileys. An AL to do up the mountain plus a couple of earthcaches. Taking the scenic route home to round up a few stray caches and finish the Wonders of the World collection.
The weather had caught up to me here. At least the muggles would be inside. My trusty brolly would keep me reasonably dry.
I ambled down the soggy hill towards GZ, getting more nervous all the way. Does the cache need another attribute today? Not quite.
I had nothing particular in mind when hunting for this, potentially so many things it could be. The GPSr was pretty insistent on one spot registering 0m.
A quick check and I thought that I had not found it. Scouted around a few other spots. Found nothing better, so went back to my original place. Still I did not find a cache. Even the torch on the phone did not reveal anything shiny.
Read some previous logs and took the plunge. Yay!
As usual a favourite point for your marvellous work Pigwig.[^]

This park used to be a favourite haunt for me and my geodog as I lived 150 meters away.
Wandered down to GZ and noticed something straight off the bat but dismissed it and searched elsewhere. Soon realised I should have trusted my gut and headed back to my original thought. There it is... great little hide. Thanks for bringing me back here.

What a great park! Short walk with reezielou to GZ, then made a quick find. TFTC!
Since Krcamber had wet feet from previous caching fun it made sense she could head down for this one with the GZ saying it was in the water. Luckily all was fine without getting wet this tome
This was an unexpected little find of a location. Parking up at the main road I took the short stroll along the path to GZ and was pleasantly surprised to see the little lake here. There was a cool breeze blowing across which was welcome as I looked about. Thankfully my senses were working and I soon spotted a likely looking hide, and it turned out to be on the money.
Thanks to Pigwig2 for placing this cache.

My first find in a while on a day introducing some muggle friends to our hobby. Spotted the hide reasonably quickly but allow our friends to make the find. With some trepidation after walking through a spider web Ms Muggle managed the hide and was hooked. The cache guardian watched on for the other side. Nice hide. Log was dogged and unsignable, replaced it with an improvised log sheet. TFTC
The best cache I have done in ages hahaha! Classic! Must favourite this later , TFTC
great camo find...log wet couldn't write. needs a new seal on container. Goose told us off the entire time but shes harmless...all honk and no bite
Luckily there was no sign of the guardian goose today as I strolled across the park to the area.
It took me a while to spot the hiding spot. Very sneaky.

Drove as close to gz as we could
Got confronted by a goose walking back and forwards across road and reserve
Not hopping out here we said
We turned the car around and drove back towards the tower
Parked the car and walked down the path to ground zero
Easy find
although log sheet was damp was able to leave our stamp on it

Pulled up approx 140 meters from cache and confronted by a goose. No way was we getting out of car here so drove back 100 meters. By now goose had walked across the road so cache was soon in hand. As previous finder log damp but could stamp. Found with The X-Trailers. TFTC
So glad Uksquirrel and I came out here for the drive today. What a lovely estate. Neither of us have been here before. Thank goodness we actually found this one as we were not having any luck.
Log signed (although was rather damp) and replace back in place. TFTC Pigwig2

Gordian certainly has a very noisy guardian in the form of a goose. With stick in hand to protect myself I ventured over to GZ and spotted the very clever hide - can now understand the relation to the description. A great hide and a FP awarded. Thanks Pigwig2.
Found on the second attempt. As I got to GZ (gingerly treading through the long grass), I discovered an incredible number of ants running everywhere. A couple of them were a bit nippy too.
I soon discovered the cache, very close to where I was looking last time - it's a great hide, Pigwig.
Then a goose appeared and started hissing at me, then started honking like I was murdering it. This continued as I signed the log and made a hasty retreat. Maybe I encroached onto the goose's favourite spot. Sorry Mr Goose.

Loved the tricky hide that was eventually found after searching in all the wrong places. Great camo and a favorite point from me, thanks Pigwig2 and TFTC
Container was compromised, log was ruined by water, recommend new container. Replaced log
Found this tricky little cache with geoson. Love it! A favourite point from me.
The log was damp, illegible and falling apart so replaced.
Thanks for placing this cache Pigwig2!

We actually managed to work out the Gordian part of the clue before we both finally twigged what it meant - and then we saw something that fitted the answer perfectly! Top marks for inventiveness and another FP!
No luck here today. I found something which looked promising but it was only home to an ant colony (who may have eaten the cache!).
Thanks anyway Pigwig
Thanks anyway Pigwig
Checked high and low but unfortunately its a DNF for this one. The long grass was a put off on this one as I am in unfamiliar territory so didnt wanna take any chances while caching alone.
Thanks anyways Pigwig2

After a dnf in February a second visit was in order and with Ms M on board an air of confidence existed.
The GPS took us to a more likely spot this time and I went straight to it without finding a container. Searched some more. Went back to the hide and searched again with no luck. Just about to give up and then Ms M decided to give it a woman's look and imagine that, she produced a container in her hand

Not having much luck in this sub-division.
The GPS wanted me to go into terrain that I wasn't willing to venture into in my Keens.
Looked at a couple of trees and the seat but they didn't provide any inspiration.

Very clever! Geofriend was really good! My compass wasn't any help but .. TFTC!!
It's always the last area that one checks! Yes, very cleverly concealed cache. Well done PigWig2!
Had to look around a lot for this one! After changing my perspective something odd appeared then the cache appeared. TFTC
A lovely day to drive south with Genyo and clear up a cluster of caches and a few strays along the way.
I looked at and touched the cache within a minute or so of arriving at GZ Genyo doesn't recall my mentioning it but he'd wandered down to the rocks and was picking his way along the water's edge. We floundered (not foundered) about for a bit and then Genyo looked at the hide and poked at the camo. Oh so it's there after all... mmmm. Sneaky sneaky sneaky.
On we rolled...
TFTC Pigwig2! A FAVE point for this tricky hide.

We just had to stop for one last cache before heading home. As we arrived at GZ there was a loud splash as Paul the geomut decided to go for a swim! Mrs. Herbz noticed something and pointed it out to Mr. Herbz who decided that the cache wasn't there. However, Mrs. Herbz wasn't happy with that and like a previous finder, she tried a little harder and was rewarded with a cleverly concealed cache. Sneaky, sneaky! Paul walked past at that moment and we both got very wet! TFTC Pigwig2 and an FP from us.
Smilie #2122
Down south clocking up a few more smilies for our map.
Spreading sunshine!
My first approach found me on the wrong side looking longingly across the water at where I knew GZ was going to be.
A bit of backtracking & I arrived at my desired location.
Took in the area, did a few test runs with the co-ords & everything kept leading me to the same spot.
Where are you, you tricky little blighter? LOL ...
Fossicked around a little & called Geo-partner for back-up.
Then something clicked & I found I was really not in need of assistance at all.
More luck than skill here I think.
The caching gods were on my side today!
Log signed & replaced as found.
Great hide, great placement!

Out to try one of Ms Wigs recent tricky hides.
Yes indeed, this one ticks that box!
Thanks Ms Wig FP for that.

We had a blank in our calendar for today's date so Geo Wife & I looked around for a good cache to fill the spot.
This one was a bit further away but being a Pigwig we were surprised we hadn't gone for it before so it was the perfect choice!!
We recognised the area as soon as we pulled up and supposed that the orange must have had its day.
It was interesting to look at the map as it showed GZ in the middle of the water but knowing the area we headed for the correct side of the lake.
It was like heading for Duck a l'Orange until we got very close but we knew it probably wouldn't be the same spot.
Geo Wife checked in one spot while I checked another and neither came up with anything to start with.
I had spotted something and thought was interesting but had ignored it.
On a sweep back over the location I put more effort into my first suspicion and even though it was not what I expected initially sure enough I came up with the prize.
Nice one Pigwig, very well camoed, we both agreed that it deserves a favourite point.

I've been meaning to swing by this one for some time now but just never got around to it. Today however I decided to take the scenic route home from work. Ashmore, Nerang, Mt Nathan, Tuxedo Junction, Oxenford. I've travelled the highway everyday for the last 10 years so it was a welcomed change and one I will probably do more often I think.
Anyway back to the cache, I pulled up along side the familiar park and wandered over. I must admit I don't remember seeing the lake on the right last time I came, mmm thats strange. Well after a bit of a look around and being surprised by two young boys leaving the scrub on the opposite side of the lake I started looking. And looking I did. I was getting eaten alive my mozzies and I just couldn't find the darn thing. Around in circles I went and was just about to give up when I spotted something, no? Yep sure enough it was right there. Had a laugh to myself while I added my make in the log.
It was nice to see quite a few animals down here this afternoon, ducks, rosellas, a toad, dragonfly's, geese, butterfly's even some wild finches. Very nice area, thatnx for bringing me back Pigwig.
Just remembered why I didn't see the lake last time, I came at night after a ftf on your other cache around the corner.
Thanx again

Spent quite a long time looking for this one and alas we came up empty handed. Would love a hint.
Another Pigwig2 cache that definitely did not disappoint and deserves a favourite point. Geohubby was keen to come and find this new Pigwig cache and we were excited with the hunt. He had an idea which proved fruitful for a quickish find. PHEW! We know Pigwig caches can be very difficult as they are so ingenious. Thanks for the enjoyment Pigwig2. [^][^] We spotted black swans, magpie geese, ducks and other water birds. Waterlilies in flower at a very pretty location.
Flagmarshall39 and I spent quite some time trying to find this one but GPS was sending us here there and everywhere. The humidity finally drove us away, unfortunately. This is the second Pigwig2 cache that have us mystified, SOB,
FTF @ 9.24pm. Joint find with DChanell.
Two opportunities in our area tonight but unfortunately dinner is ready and we have guests. Anth would leave them to fend for themselves but Sal has more social skills.. Lol.
After dinner we decided to try for the furthest away cache and then for the second on the way back.
We pulled up at a familar park but unfortunately there was a vehicle already here and touch light in the distance. We mosied on over and joined DChanell in the search.
As Anth handed his phone to Sal, she dropped hers and it slid all the way down the embankment and disappeared into the depths of the pond. Anth raced down and fished it out. Let's hope we have better luck with the cache.
A minute later the second half of team DChanell makes the tricky find. Well done again Pigwig2 on a great replacement for the Duck.
Thanks Pigwig2, for placing the 808th cache we’ve found so far!
