Went to check on this one on a recent road trip and it is nowhere to be found. We will consider putting another cache along this great road, maybe a bit closer to home!
Left Canberra on the 2nd January to escape the smoke and spend a few days caching with Joolay and KittyKatch. Logs signed as CC for Capital Crunchers and a great little round trip has taken us on part of the TRLT (The Roads Less Travelled) series. Great to spend some time in the back blocks especially as a lot of this country was home to some of my ancestors. Tftc
Found today with Joolay and Barb2e and signed as Capital Crunchers.

You need to be on the right level. GPS took me about 10m out but once I gave up on that and just checked the obvious it was soon found.
On a Geocaching trip from Canberra chasing Counties. Very smoky start and was glad to be out of the smoke for awhile but I can already see it ahead. Still glad to have another county down. TFTC

Another if day out caching. Today it's all about getting home. Long drive from Orange to Shellharbour with lots of caches on the way. Was getting sunny and warm quickly, but otherwise good caching weather.

Out on a spontaneous camping/caving/caching trip with my geobro Jakeblast.
My GPS lead me further out on a rocky patch, but after giving up on looking there I found it in an expected spot.

On a trip from Canberra to Gilgandra and back collecting answers to windmill caches. A quick find, thanks zita&enzo.
This weekend has been planned for some time...postponed once but not again. That trip is Canberra to Bogan shire and back again... hoovering up as many counties as possible.
So Aquilus1 and I set off a little late, due to other familial duties, but we made good time stopping many times to make sure we have all counties and interesting oldies/DT.
Sorry for the generic logs.... we have a lot to log!

Today saw us heading off for a long ago planned tripped, out past Dubbo and then West. A good number of counties, a few virtuals, lots of oldies, some good DT and others of special interested targeted along the way.
With GreyHams picked up we were on our way, Bogan Shire our furtherest destination... Maybe! We drove past many along the way but managed the caches we wanted with a couple of DNF thrown in.
A beautiful sunny day and a pleasant drive through the countryside. Stopped a few times with the locals all friendly and nice interesting characters. Thanks for the cache. Found okay, a great old bridge I'm glad there was a cache at so we could stop to look at it better.

Road trip to Bathurst. This cache along the way. Good camo, found by geo kid. Tftc
Travelling from Goulburn to Bathurst and stopping for caches along the way. Many thanks to all the COs for placing the caches and showing us around your region.
Today we are travelling from Goulburn to Bathurst and doing the caches along the way. The weather was fine and windy, however we hit the road running. Found various caches of various types and sizes. Due to the number we found, I have done a genereic log. Thank you. TFTC.
Such a beautiful, wooden spanner certainly deserves a cache
And while the bridge lived up to its rated 21t rating,
I snuck underneath to find me this cache
The rusty camo is quite effective

We first found this last October but somehow forgot to log it. This was out second attempt - the GPS did not appear to like GZ the first time. Then we tried instinct and found it. Thanks zita&enzo.
Rather a late log as we found this in October on the way to Bermagui. That was our second attempt. Great place for a cache with enough room to get off the road and have a break. Thanks zita&eno.
Beautiful bridge. Had a great wander through another bridge of sorts just up under that from here too.

There were some workers surveying the bridge but they weren't interested in us. The cache took a little while to find but found, signed and returned. Glad it didn't take too long as the weather isn't looking great. Thanks for the cache.
Working along this road today and stopped for a quick cache with the trolls. Took a little longer to find as started out too low. What a great old structure! Thnks for placing. Swapped in Han Solo.
Heading to Bathurst for the (Canberra) long weekend and to give my new toy a run. I decided to stop and take a photo of the bridge and did a quick check of the GPS to see where the nearest cache was. 36m - easy enough. A lesson learned while getting to GZ is that motorbike boots are not meant for scrambling down grassy slopes. When I got to the right level it as an easy find. TFTC, zita&enzo
This wasn't where I first anticipated, but by the time we'd driven over the bridge and seen that you can't really walk on it, we figured we knew where we had to go. Toriaz happened to find the cache pretty easily. Thanks
My sixth cache of Day One of our Overnight Road Trip to Tuena!
After an earlier DNF I had one extra find to make on my budget towards a milestone. So, down I descended for an easy find.

We scrambled down to the right level, then started wondering if we were really at the right level or not. But as we were discussing this, I saw the cache. So it turned out to a really simple find.

Today is D-Day! Moving from Goulburn to Dubbo. With all our belongings already safely in Dubbo today was the day we handed our keys back to the real estate and our little geo-family jetted off to Dubbo ready for a new life and job starting monday.
Certainly seen this bridge a few times over the past few weeks driving back and forward. Lovely old bridge and a slow goings road at times but enjoyed nonetheless!
A beautiful country drive through crookwell, tuena, blayney, milthorpe, orange and wellington saw a small handful of caches along the way. Really appreciate the effort all COs went through to ensure our road trip was enjoyed thoroughly.

6903 Located by baby&Mrs gopher at 1715 on a drive to Bathurst and further north. GPS had us down at the third pylon. Didn't look right. Started a search further afield. Cache in good condition. SL Tnx zita&enzo
This one had us wandering for a while as the co-ords had us searching in what turned out to be the wrong area. When nothing was found there, we let geo instinct kick in and went back to the more obvious place. Of course it was there! Did the duties and then replaced the container just where it had been found. Thank you to zita&enzo for this cache placement.

Last minute drive in the country with fitzy_1965 and DK had us heading out to Blayney and back. Such a glorious day to be out in the fresh air and doing a bit of caching whilst we were at it.

12958. Found on a quick run up from Goulburn before tonights event.
With a few hours up my sleeve before the event tonight I headed north to grab some caches within a reasonable drive. Next find for the day. I parked off the road and walked down to this one. So many hidey holes but i soon zoomed in for the find. Signed the log, returned the cache, then headed off to the next one.
Thanks zita&enzo !!

TFTC Thank you for going to the effort of hiding this cache. You have shown us a new place and have helped make geocaching an enjoyable activity. Fantastic Wood to look at under the bridge.
After much deliberation and comparing of diaries, The Rats, Steeba and I eventually found a weekend that we could all commit to completing the lower (Southern) half of 'The Road Less Traveled' Series, along with some caching in Bathurst (which was actually the scene of our first combined geocaching trip nine years ago!). A last minute trip overseas for me cropped up; but I arranged it so that I could fly home just in time to not miss out on this caching extravaganza.
Friday night we headed to Abercrombie River via Goulburn (from Wollongong), and camped at the campsite there. Saturday saw us drive the lower (Southern) half of 'The Road Less Traveled' Series, ending up in Bathurst right on dinner time. We then found some local caches before staying at a friend's house for the night. On Sunday we headed back out to Oberon for some more caches and then did a couple of loops around Bathurst. We had originally planned to stay Sunday night, but once we clicked over 300 finds for the weekend the inspiration started to wane, and we all agreed to turn our heads for home.
First find of the morning after camping just nearby.
Cheers

Nothing beats a "road trip". My find count had been suffering from the "rest of life" getting in the way of caching so along with Steeba and Hoojar a plan was hatched to go "beyond the Great Divide". The 2nd half of the TRLT looked to be the obvious solution. Under perfect skies and with gps loaded we hit the dirt roads.
Our first full day of caching had us weaving our way along the TRLT to a point where we completed the lower section of the series in one day. This half is contrastingly different to the other, but still very spectacular. Thanks to all the CO’s of the caches we found along the way. Apologises for the template style log but with 300 finds for the weekend each container begins to look the same.
This was our overnight camp spot. A beautiful spot that we'll be returining to with the family.

The Rats, Hoojar and myself made for the wider Bathurst area for a weekend finding some of TRLT series of caches.
The whole area was quite green and recent rains had meant the grass had exploded everywhere and was 3 or 4 foot high around many of the caches.
Not only did we find plenty of TRLT, there were many 'History of' caches found amongst others. Thanks to all the hiders. TFTC!
We camped nearby the night before and this one was a pretty quick find.

On a quiet weekend I decided go for a drive in the country. I mostly spent the day driving from Goulburn to Blayney. I managed to see many great spots along the way before spending the night at Blayney. On Monday I headed home with only a few cache stops along the way.
Thanks.

Thanks to everyone who's hunted this hide - it's one of our favourites.
Unfortunately, circumstances have taken us far from GZ and we won't be nearby for some time.
The cache is suffering some significant creep. If any cacher would like to update the coordinates please feel free.
Happy caching

Spent a long time searching around ground zero with no luck then decided to use Geo sense and look higher, about 15 meters away there it was high and dry and exposed so just hid it a bit more in the safe area

On a run up through the area with LuckyL10n. Had no problems with the co-ords and the cache was soon in hand. Sometimes instinct works better than a GPS.
Thanks Z&E......my first time caching through this area.....and first visit in about 35 years!!!! Must be getting old. Fav point for showing me down here.

#4708 - 11:40; Off on another day run with Sol de lune. This time we are headed to Blayney via Goulburn and Crookwell and many small towns in between. A few more in the 'History of.....' series are on the radar, along with any other caches along our planned route. We had now passed through Tuena and were headed towards Trunkey Creek when we stopped to collect this one on the way past. Interesting spot, thanks for providing the reason for a visit! Spent a bit of time here looking at a couple of levels (a very active wombat on the lower level!). Found a lid that looked like a cache, but turned out to be rubbish. Used RoddyC's coordinates to narrow down the search and found it in a place I had already looked!
Thanks

Day 3, Orange to Goulburn.
Our 56th cache on this trip.
A nice quick find.
Left our mark & replaced as found.
It took us longer to get back to the road than it did to make the find.
we had chosen to drive down to the lower level.
With nowhere to turn the Geo-beast around it was down to reverse gear only.
Slip into 4WD & job done!
Another Geo related adrenalin rush! LOL ...

Yes, a fabulous old Timber Truss Bridge. Spent a little while looking at the construction while trying to find the cache. The coordinates were somewhat out: these worked well for us: S33 57.307 E149 19.527.

Nice spot. Cache on the ground so assumed it rolled from hiding place. Placed it back at coordinates.,
My final cache for this trip. A beautiful bridge & my type of micro. Only 8.2 Ks of well packed gravel compared to over 40 when we first started travelling this way. There used to be a sign near the Tuena pub stating that at present funding it would be 2056 before the road was sealed. Thanks for the cache.
Camping nearby with Team Webguy who got FTF on this cache last weekend. Nice bridge.

This link to the NSW Government's Environment & Heritage Office gives extensive info about the bridge's history. Despite my geo-name I've never lived in the area but have travelled this way over the last 35 years to get to Orange. Beats the Blue Mountains any day.
