When I have a long hike planned, it is always great to get a cache find under my belt early on. In this case, I was able to get one before I even started. All good here.
Headed out today to get the final points for the Cosmic Quest challenge souvenir. Had a plan but that got tossed out the window with the wet weather, so it was on to plan B which was a bit drier.Another cache that was missing last time we looked for it. This time it was a nice simple find and it was good to turn the blue face to a yellow one. tftc#9843
spacenarwhale and I had some time to fill while Mr 3Prettys was at a local appointment, so I decided to see just how far uphill I'd have to climb to find this cache. Thankfully the answer was "not very far at all", so after a bit of bushwhacking I spotted a Suspicious Pile of Rocks and was signing the log in no time. spacenarwhale perfomed admirably as look-out and selfie-taking-distraction.Thank you for the cache.(cache is no longer at the base of a tree)
I'm down from Auckland for a couple of weeks and this morning decided to head to Wither Hills Farm Park and walk the Mt Vernon Loop, the weather was fantastic for it. A quick find back at the car park after my walk. TFTC!
Visiting Blenheim with a view to moving here soon, so although today wasn't strictly a caching day I did managed to squeeze this find into our itinerary whilst house hunting.

Found - Mrs McMike2012 & I now live full-time in our caravan & travel the country visiting places we want to visit … we are currently parked up at the Waterlea Racecourse in Blenheim for the next couple of days … today we decided to go for a walk up Mt Vernon via the Sutherland Stream Track to The Crown & onto the Trig Station, mainly to do the Ad Lab here but also to grab a few caches … the weather was ideal, warm but overcast with the threat of rain … all said & done, an ideal caching day … pleased to add another 'smiley face' to the tally … TFTC ... TN:LN:SL ... #3,631 for us.
I came by to do the AL. Thanks to the AL owner for pointing out that a regular cx was also here. Sometimes (OK, a lot of times) I focus on the AL to the extent of missing other caches. TFTC.
Found exactly as per description (near not at hint!) . No log from last “finder” in the book!
Thanks
Thanks
Out with Christchurch group busy paws, Jude_E and lytteltonwitch. Did a point on adv lab close by and came to find you. Thanks for the cache GH6710.
We were in NZ on a holiday hoping to spend a bunch of time geocaching; however, we ended up in ISO due to positive COVID tests! Once our mandatory isolation was over we were able to travel a bit and grab some caches on our trip. This cache was on the to do list for today. Cheers and TFTC.

End of the track after 4 hrs: up Mt Vernon and down the Covenant with morning tea, lunch, the Ad Lab and 10 caches for me. Loved the mature horoeka/ pseudopanax crassifolius/ lancewood which we saw on the way down before getting here. I didn't know, but heteroblasty is the word which describes the different form from juvenile to adult tree. Tftc
We live in our motorhome, staying in a friend's front yard at the moment sorting appointments for us and Dog. Geopup Finn us at the groomers for a MUCH needed trim, shampoo and pedicure so he missed out this time. Nice quick find. TFTC
The family has some new boots for tramping so a great spot to start wearing them in. Onwards! Cheers
I thought of doing the AdLab here but after looking at the hill climg for this old geezer with a dickey ticker and gammey knees reason won out.
So as a consolation prize this Trad was signed off.
Cheers for the cache.

Back from a walk up the hill, carpark fairly full but no-one about. Quick find, thanks for replacing the cache.

Nice QEF as I was in the carpark with my youngest offspring. TFTC and it was there are in perfect nick (thought you may want the update as it seems to have previously gone missing).
*** Along with a few other caches today I signed this one as the 23rd Jan, my mistake there, it was found on the 25th***

Found the pole and checked under a lot of trees. Found a bottle and a couple of cans but nothing resembling a cache. Even had a previous finder with me and they couldn't find it again either.
Perhaps my eyes need a check, but I checked the hide spots around GZ and came up empty handed. Could've been the heat messing with my mind
After a ridiculously busy few weeks st work, it's time for a much needed day off and a wander around with Aurora11511. Nice hide in great condition. TFTC
Quick find, all good in cache. Somewhat disappointed as upper tracks all closed due to fire risk. Will have to return in winter. Tftc!
Heading home to Nelson albeit via the side streets of Blenheim and Renwick.
I had a real sense of déjà vu with the caches along these roads. Either I found or never logged them or the location has been recycled. Either way it’s a smiley where there previously there was not.
Nope. I don’t think I have been as far along here after all. I have now though and another find to prove it.
Picked up the TB for a road trip.
Thanks GH6710

We were going to walk up Mount Vernon but the tracks are closed. At least we got this cache here to console ourselves. Thanks for the placement. GH6710
Nice easy find..sadly no mount walk today track closed due to fire risk..thanks for the cache
So sad the decision to climb Mt veron was taken away from us (never mind).
Quick easy instead.

Thanks for cache here...easy find for me...but too dry and hot for Hill Walking...
Spending time in Blenheim today before taking ferry back home. Lovely day for a walk. TFTC
A nice start to my walk - frosty morning and in the shade along the stream as I headed all the way up to Mount Vernon trig. TFTC!
Stuck in Blenheim because of vehicle issues so lots of time to cache by foot or by bike. Today I decided to walk to Wither Hills Farm Park as I did yesterday but took a different route to collect some more smileys. Didn’t find the cache however then noticed the log lying on the ground nearby. Water proof paper so able to sign it. Unfortunately I didn’t have a container with me so tucked it under a stone at GZ. Needs a CO visit for some TLC. Thanks
A quick easy find at the end of the road. Unfortunately we rarely have the time to venture up into the hills. TFTC
Me and my boy found this one . It was our first find so that was exciting. Not to hard. Not to easy.
