TFTC. Setting up camp for a week in Murray Bridge before the MEGA for 29th Feb!Moving to Ballarat for another week afterwards. Last hurrah travelling before wooding season at home starts!Happy caching and safe travels!
Currently trying to finish the year with a streak and so heading out daily, for a cache. Plus there are a few other caches I need for challenges. Holidaying in Ballarat so while we wait for the sun to come out, we went caching. Quick find at GZThanks to BallaratGeocachers for the fun and the adventure.
Today we explored Ballarat and surrounds using geocaching as a guide. We enjoyed travelling through the countryside and visiting new, to us, locations. We found a variety of hides with varying degrees of difficulty. Many thanks to all CO's for your cache placement.
Having attended a recent event in Brisbane where a fellow cacher brought my attention to the geo tour in Ballarat and its up coming finish in February, i knew this was something I had to make an effort to get to.I also quickly realised that the attribute for the geo tour is the last one I need to achieve a personal challenge so the planning began. After arriving in Melbourne to delightful weather, I made my way au to Ballarat last night I. Anticipation of a three day caching binge with some local geo art and the geo trail as the key targets for the long weekend.I jumped in The geowagon and ventured off the o soon find a nice parking spot. A short stroll later soon found me at ground zero. It wasnt long before the cache was found and the log signed. I returned the cache to its hiding space and made my way back to the car. Ready to head to the next adventureA big thanks to the cache owners of Ballarat for making this cache available to be found.Cheers
Another lovely spot in Ballarat replaced bag, patted doggy walking byCrusty Varmint, Bemused Keith and I set on a journey today to do the BallaratGeoTour and find some other quality caches along the way, this being one of them. Thanks for the very enjoyable geocaching adventure BallaratGeocachersregardskbucky
Heading out for another day of caching fun, we stopped off here for our second of the day. Some time was spent chatting to a dog owner, and giving her dog the attention she needed, before we got stuck into our search. Kylie quickly found it while Bemused Keith and I poked around elsewhere. Thanks BallaratGeocachers.
A whole four day trip with Aquilus1 to do the GeoTour in Ballarat some caching around Geelong and anything else that looked good on the way.
Weather was ok albeit a bit on the wet side for the first two days.
This cache was one of the ones we had the oportunity to do.
A nice cache here!
Thank you BallaratGeocachers for the nice cache and experience you gave us!

Quick bonus cache as we pass. Found okay and all good here today.
This cache was one found on a trip away with Flintstone's for 4 days. We had the Geotour in Ballarat as our target, and made our way as far as Queenscliff.
Ballarat caching was a joy, and with the tour, we saw many lovely and interesting locations as well as stopping for many other caches as we passed. Lots of little walks helped with the colder first few days as well as being quite scenic.
A change of weather and scenery towards Queenscliff but the coast was a great place to visit with plenty to do and see. As always, more to do than there was time for, will just have to return one day! Thank you for your cache!

My first thoughts when I arrived at the coordinates was “wow, there is so many hiding spots in here”. Luckily, in the first placed I looked, the cache revealed itself. Thanks for the cache
Quick find on a wet afternoon. Grabbed the TB to move one.
Thanks BG...cache all good.

Yay! Another find close to camp. Looking forward to my Girl Guides coming out tomorrow to geocache.
Outnabout for some solo caching. It’s always a great day for caching.

For anyone making Geo plans, do yourself a favour and visit Australia’s only current Geotour at Ballarat while it lasts: https://www.geocaching.com/play/geotours/ballarat-victoria
And for anyone that can travel to Longreach, Queensland, late September 2023, Google “QOGM” which is the Queensland Outback Geocaching Muster. You’ll have at least 8 or 9 days of pure geocaching fun with around 200 like minded people attending a mix of events and access to over 200 geocaches placed by the QOGM team. It’s not a Mega, it’s better.

*Dear CO, apologies for the late logging…
Day 2 in Ballarat with Tankengine and Youban to do the GeoTour mainly, plus a couple of other caches and catch up with caching buddies.
We had a full day caching and enjoying ourselves then went to friends for dinner, drinks and chat about our adventures of the day. The pizza we got was so yummy as was the ice cream for dessert.
This cache: Found in the end, but needed a TOTT to help get it though. But all good. Tftc!!!

Nice little walking track that I didn’t know existed. Nice hide. Found by 7 year old.
Vinz is in Ballarat working for the man this week, so after toiling away it's time for a leg stretch to grab a few artifacts.
Unfortunately because he has been so busy he has forgotten the actual day he f ound this so the date on the logbook may not match the online one.

It was great to be back in the area caching and catching up with my buddy Rebel Acts.
I had planned on being here for a few days but unfortunately, work got in the way again, so made the most of a sunny Sunday.
So many new caches online around Ballarat and Creswick since the last time I was up this way, and it's awesome to see some lab caches here as well.
This is one of the caches that I found on the day, cheers for the cache and the opportunity for a smile on the map.

Some good friends had decided to head to Ballarat for a few weeks so I decided I needed a break and joined them, we had a great time out caching as well as sharing stories and laughs around a meal or two. I really love the area of Ballarat there is so much history and I am sure it has the largest population of Oak trees in the Country.
This is one of the caches found today.
Some caches logged as RASP rebel acts &Ski pair.
Thanks BallaratGeocachers for the cache.

With work encouraging us to take some holidays and Mr SKI having quite a few weeks up his sleeve it was time to take another short break and do some sightseeing and caching in parts of Victoria we seldom visit.
This time we decided it would be Ballarat. There is a wide variety of cache types and quite a number of Adventure Labs to do, so the area is quite attractive. And that doesn't include the historical and interest aspects as well.
We organized to meet up with some friends while there so we would have the opportunity to do some joint as well as solo caching.
We have already had some great adventures on a few challenging caches that generated a lot of fun and as usual always good to find some pre-solved puzzles.
All logs signed as SKI Pair, RASP (Rebel Acts & SKI Pair or SP depending on size of logs and availability of space.
Thank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache BallaratGeocachers.

I popped out of the forest with a total of 28 finds for this trip, so still had three to go.
This, near where I'd emerged, and found only yesterday, seemed a good place to start. With quite a few possibilities, I was pleasantly surprised to get my mitts on the log after only a few minutes of searching.
Thanks, BallaratGeocachers

Besides celebrating the first birthday of the Ballarat GeoTour, my aim today is to net exactly 31 smileys for... reasons involving shenanigans in a few days.
Following the event, n0w0rries and I set off for a stroll around Buninyong to complete the Adventure Lab, collecting Posums as well as the coordinates for the bonus cache on the way.
After doubling my tally of GeoTour finds, finishing the Adventure Lab and bonus, as well as getting the last Reach the Peak souvenir of a baker's dozen, I took a walk around Sebastopol to finally snag a bunch of challenge caches and the Letterbox Hybrid I'd been eyeing off, following that with a drive around the Canadian Plantation for more challenge hides... and bringing my GeoTour tally to three.

We are back in Ballarat for the GeoTour event and looking for a few caches after arrival this afternoon. This was not too far from our motel. Reasonably quite near although a couple of muggles were walking nearby. It took a couple of minutes to locate the container. Thanks to BallaratGeocachers for the cache.
Found the perfect parking spot then found the cache perfectly hidden.
Not sure I've been to this spot before, definitely need to explore this area more and see what's around.

One for sparrows and one for me. Love this park and the bush in general. Here on a few missions and of course have a list of geocaches to hunt whilst exploring historic Ballarat. TFTC and the FUN! Now it’s back on the trusty bike and on to the next one.
Log nice and dry, TFTC. Nice little area I didn’t know existed. It will be good to get out and ride this little trail.
As Peter means stone that is what i was looking for but not. Found with Joybell53 TFTC
Found with my best friend Peter... haha how fitting. Third find for the queens birthday trek in Ballarat
