Since todays paddle got squashed, it was decided that myself and Duppers would meet up at Ewan Maddock dam around 11 am. I decided to head up a bit earlier and grab the other ones that she has already done around the other side of the dam. Im hoping to have enough time to cache and visit my father-in-law in the same trip.Quick find. I decided to follow my instincts rather than the compass.I found your cache, Rose View today.dickbev, TFTC, TFTH & TFTSF
Need some long pants to find this one, got it anyways, nice view if the train came through
Drove up from Brisbane at stupid oclock this morning so my partner could take one of dogs to a show in Beerwah if cachers are crazy, dog show people are bat sh#t crazyWith only a couple of hours I decided to blanket cache LandsboroughNice viewThanks dickbev
So on our way back from the Ghost Train cache, we met a bunch of people on horses, who I think are from the nearby riding school. I asked the leader some questions about where the track they were coming from leads to. She said it leads to their property and then about a two hour ride away is Maleny. She then indicated in the other direction is what the locals call The View. At that point I didnt know about this cache because I had a filter on. Thankfully, it popped up on my Nearby Geocaches Widget so I knew to clear my filters and it turned out we were parked only 115m from the cache! It would have been such a shame to drive past this view (like we did on the way in) without stopping and taking a full appreciation of creation. Thanks Dick & Bev.
What a brilliant view! After braving the darkness of the tunnel and hiking to GZ I soon found myself signing the log, but I just had to stop and take in the view, so beautiful! Also be careful around GZ, saw a few jack jumper ants roaming about. Thanks for bringing me here dickbev!
This was a amazing view and there would be no way that I would have come here without geocaching TFTC
Took the detour from the tunnel to find this one. Followed the geopath to gz for a quick find. Nice container. All is dry here. TFTC
Saturday. Out on a day trip with oz_bean_counter at the wheel! A great day was had by all.
We had visited here before, so just stopping in to log some TB visits.

Headed out and about with the Slow Punctures today. The plan didn't go to plan, which was good, because we had a great time despite the plan!!! This was one of many caches grabbed on the drive from Brisbane to Landsborough to Maleny and on to Mooloolah and back home. Epic day, and thanks for making it better by providing some caches to find!
On my way from one targeted cache to another, I called past this cache.
It was a bit further from the road than my phone’s GPS said, but exactly as per the hint. The cache was found in great condition. What a great view! TFTC dickbev

dickbev I found your cache Rose View on 12/6/2022, 3:20 pm. This is my find 3512 and find # 13 today. Wonderful views, no problems locating this one. Thanks for the cache, mate! TNSLLN
Thanks for bringing us to this view of the Railway. That’s quite a long way down! The cache was spotted after checking a few of the options. All good here. Thanks dickbev
Not the tunnel we had in mind, but an interesting spot anyway. Found with NutCacheBNE
After locating the cache near the tunnel we decided to drive to this hide. The GPS bounced around a bit at first and then settled on a general direction. We used our geo-senses to locate the sneaky hide. Thanks for bringing us here to admire the beautiful view.
Staying in Landsborough for a couple of weeks and a good time to find some caches in the local area and joined by grannysmith1947 and Miss Millie.

This was the first cache i came across today on my days outing around landsborough, of seven i found for the day.
Found sometime before nine am.
I'd never been up this road, exploring a way across from ewan maddock tracks to dularcha national park and this cache just so happened to be in the way.
Great view from here too!
Thanks dickbev for choosing to hide a geocache here!

A rude awakening by a very early phone call meant it was time to continue our caching day. With an early start it means some early caches before we meet up with Willis007 for our bike ride assault on Ewan Maddock Dam. A quick brekky a pack up and we were on our way. We started from where we left off, collecting caches in the Caloundra area and working our way to Landsborough.
This one was one we went to before our ride. Our meeting time was meant to be 7.30 but with so many avenues of distraction, we pushed it back. This one was in the open it was willis007 who made the find. We signed the log, replaced it back to where we thought it should be, and placed some extra cover for safe keeping. Thank you for the cache and placing it in such a nice area.

Heading to this area today to find some caches around Ewen Dam with chamad and Triple Turmoil.
This was a fantastic spot!
The cache was found in the open, I replaced it under one of the logs.
Thanks dickbev for the cache and for bringing me here.

Chamad and I decided to meet up on this lovely "getting closer to spring" day. We need to get 555 Sunshine Coast caches for a Challenge cache we collected last weekend. Let's just say I am a looooooooong way off. So we spent Saturday afternoon and way into the night collecting caches and so early the next morning that I am wondering why we bothered to go to sleep
This cache was one of the early morning ones. Our second day saw us on our way at 6am to meet Willis007 at 730 (which ended up being at 830) to ride around Ewan Dam. This ride was pretty challenging at times. Certainly got the heartrate up. Either by riding up a steep hill, walking up an even steeper hill or even riding down a steep hill at full speed. Lots of fun and lots of exercise.
This was an early morning find on the way to the dam.

Took my daughter to the tunnel so we both could see it for the first time.
I noticed we drove past this one on the way in so decided to stop on the way out.
We were over the wrong side of the road at first but wasnt long before daughter made the find.
She really impressed me today.
She beat me everywhere, locations, caches...might have a little bug in the making.
Thanks dickbev

On a mission to collect Ghost Train so made sense to grab this as it was literally next to the parked car! TFTC
Chasing a few pre 2007 caches for a challenge and Ghost Train was the intended target at this stop. Parking right next to Rose View, it was hard to ignore so in we went before venturing to the under world. Thanks dickbev for maintaining this cache.
Out caching with the Tough Mothers (Jemillalucy, Bennyboppers and Lisylou). TFTC!

The geoteens, our geodog and I all piled into the car for afternoon of caching and country driving. This was our first stop; a lovely view and a quick find. Tftc dickbev
We were taking the back roads to get to Bundaberg and stopped off to check out the views from this cache. The did not disappoint.
the cache was quickly located although my wife was telling me to watch out that I didn't go too far.

Out and about today and there is a DickBev cache nearby. Cannot Pass this by without a smiley. Thanks for the cache.
1minniemoo got a bit of a fright here, when walking around the front of the car she almost stood on a blue tongue lizard! Lucky we didn’t drive just a bit closer or we might have run over him!
After looking at the lizard for a while, we started hunting for the cache. We made it much harder then it needed to be, and eventually after 1mm read some logs, she checked somewhere she’d already looked but thought was wrong as the phones said to go further, and there it was.
Nice view from up here!

Out with Wombles&Co and 1GiantPanda today for an unexpected day of caching. Having just tackled today's main goal, we checked the map to see where else we wanted to head, and this one ended up being first.
Pulling the car over near GZ, I stepped out of the car, and screamed out when I realised I almost stepped right on a lovely blue tongue lizard, which I only noticed as it tried to slither away. The poor thing. I'm just so glad I didn't hit him with the car too.
1GiantPanda stayed mesmerised by the lizard while Wombles&Co and I headed down to begin searching for the cache.
Geoinstincts told us one spot but our coords said otherwise. So a quick cursory glance where we thought it should be turned up nothing, then we followed the compass, only to be disappointed. So back to where we first expected, and this time it was quickly found.
Thanks for the cache dickbev.

Super view. Would never have known about it without caching. And we were there for a train too! Thanks for bringing us here.
A very worthy spot for a cache indeed.
I parked up nearby and made my way toward GZ. The smartphone said "further" but caching instincts said otherwise. I soon had the cache in hand. It was in good condition. I signed the log and returned the cache to its home.
I was treated to seeing a train pass by as well. A great view indeed. TFTC dickbev

Well hidden although you can see where everyone has walked quick clue. Disturbing the peace. Lol. Have fun.
While camping in Landsborough for a few days with my geodog Scruffy, we just had to get out and try finding a few caches in this area.

Watched a train travelling below. M was sitting down as he could not find the cache and would you know the cache was under his foot! (found by H of course!)
Our last find for the morning, and what a spot to end it on. What a great view, it looks like a real life model railway. We set off this morning with the intention of moving on some trackables as we are getting quite a stockpile of them. So when this container was located we thought great that’ll fit one for sure. Turned out we had to swap it over as there was another one in there and Mrs 4ando doesn’t seem to have the ability to leave a trackable behind!
Off to start the work day now by was great to get up in the dark and do a bit of caching before starting the day, especially when there are views like this…

On our way back from Ewen Maddock Dam we enjoyed this spectacular view and watched a train coming. Left a tb (Wombat). Tftc
After the recent heavy rains from ex-TC Debbie shelved my plans for a trip South due to extensive flooding, a visit to the hinterland seemed a better option. Today's trip took me through Landsborough, Moololah Valley, Woombye, Eudlo, Palmwoods and points in between picking up solved puzzles and a variety of other caches.
Wow, some seriously steep terrain here, making for a fabulous view all the way to the glasshouse mountains. Snapped some pics before making the grab. Thanks **dickbev** for bringing us here, this find makes #3497. Discover our trackable TGQNRV .

Driving a long this little dirt road, I was waiting for the view to appear but the road was going downhill. In the end the vista opened up and we had a cracking look at the glasshouse mountains and side-on I was able to show the geodaughter the slope at the back of Mt Tibrogargan. When I told her I once climbed it when I was 18 in a pair of thongs she didn't believe it. Those were the days when you were bored and decided to climb a mountain without preparations, water, sunscreen and the biggest problem was deciding who had to pay for the couple of dollars of petrol required to get there.
As we left the road, my daughter points out that I'm bleeding on the back of my leg, No problems, I have an Aldi first aid kit in the car. It clearly grossed her out because she wanted to get it sorted before moving on. I asked for an alcohol wipe to wipe away the dry blood only to find it was quite fresh and I tested the echo capability of the canyon with a shrill scream. Band aids on, log signed and watching a train go through the tunnel underneath us was all the excitement we could handle. The next problem is how to turn the car around on this road. Normally I would post a photo of the view, but watching my daughter provide medical treatment is far more enjoyable. tftc

In need of a little peace & serenity & what better way to get that than a trip to Eudlo & surrounds.
Chasing a few solved puzzles & adding a few extra smilies to our map.
Nice views of the mountains.
A quick find at the end of a short & quite obvious geo-trail.
All good here.

We were in the area today with a view to grabbing a few caches and whilst we found a cache nearby we decided to grab this one as well as it was close to where we had parked.
At GZ we stopped to admire the views and the glasshouse mountains do look different from this perspective but great views none the less.
The log was signed and returned to the cache and the cache replaced exactly as found.
All is good with this cache.

Looking for the caching trail first saved me from playing in unwise places. Not the usual heavily camoed cache by this owner but I defy that log to ever get wet (unless it's opened on a rainy day, that is). I last visited this area several years ago looking for the nearby tunnel cache, and also to visit friends whose house was later resumed in preparation for the water pipeline construction. We were out today finding a few caches that we need to qualify for a challenge cache we're working on.
This one just happen to be close by so a found was made on it.
The cache was found easily and just as we did a freight train came along.
It was cool to watch it go through the tunnel under us.

Tftc and apologies for the late logging. We visited QLD during the school holidays and then Pokemon Go took over our lives for awhile. Geocaching will always remain our treasure hunt though.

Decided to get some exercise so instead of driving I parked the Geojeep on Tunnel Ridge and set of on foot to do this and other nearby caches. As I came up to GZ I had a bad thought that this cache might not be near the road but down near the tunnel. Thankfully that was not to be and the cache was soon in hand, log signed and safely returned for the next one to venture along this road.

After tearing my hair out with the arduous task of trying to write assignments.. I decided to turn the computer off and take a well deserved break in the sun.. and knowing how many unfound caches yet to be found around Ewen Maddock.. this was my chosen destination...

Fantastic. Lived in this region for nearly 15 years and never seen this view despite traversing both train and Tunnel Ridge Road. A very genuine thank you. Found with Secret7(P).

Friday. Mr Slow Puncture ventured out today with Nyssaflutterby and her mini-munchkin to launch a raid on some Sunshine Coast inland-type caches.
Nyssa pointed me down this road and I thought we were off to find the cache at the old tunnel. Demonstrating my knowledge of railways, I announced "This is a really good place to photograph trains". Nyssa said "Stop here". I thought "Ooh, I have impressed her so much with that fact, she wants to have a look". She did wanna look too. For a cache! LOL
As we pulled up, the ICE (Inter-City Express) we had passed at Landsborough was seen on the northern side of the ridge, heading off towards Mooloolah. We then searched what we thought was a likely hiding place on that side of the road, only to realise it was on the other side. We both homed in on the same spot and I spotted it seconds before Nyssa. Signed and returned.
Then another ICE was heard approaching from the other direction, so we scrambled back to Blue Thunder as the flutterby got a picture of that.
This was the 6th of 19 caches we found on this trip.
Thanks [Blue]dickbev[/Blue], for bringing us here.

Out and about with Mr Slow Puncture and Mini Munchkin for a fun days geocaching adventure. I managed to confuddled Mr SP and had him excited that I wanted to stop and watch the trains...... Hmmm, while I don't mind watching a train go by, I was really excited to find the cache It didn't take long until the beasty was in hand, we left some scribble in the log and then replaced the cache as found. While we were here, we were lucky enough to see two trains go by.
