DNF:
I had an opportunity to go to the South Island and take a week off work and do some caching while Mrs Yeetrees had to go to the ANZEG Conference 2018 which was being held in Nelson.
Day 7: Nelson to Blenheim. Today was he day that we decided that we would make our way to Blenheim and stay the night there before making our way to Picton on Saturday to catch the Ferry back home. We decided that we would pick up a few caches along the way if the chance allowed but we wouldn't get to carried away.
After finding GC6MRZ8 - Above the law....... (Marlborough), this was the next cache that we had on our list to find, GZ, we decided that we wanted to stretch our legs so we decided to leave the car where it was and walk to GZ, the issue was that this was the first time that we have ever being here and we didnt know the area, but we decided to continue, we soon realised where GZ was, down there as we made our way along the path. It took a while but we soon made our way down to GZ, we managed to find a plaque, but we werent sure if it was the correct one as the date put us way out so we decided to call it quits and make our way back to the car.
Oh well maybe next time, we did enjoy the walk in the end and the lovely Japanese Garden, will be back.

Cache container missing so replaced and added a few small white stones to help mark the hiding place. Look just above them.
While visiting from Whanganui I was so excited thinking I may have completed my first multicache...sadly mistaken...maybe another time....
Couldn't find it. 4 people searching, and we checked the hint. November 2, 2017
Back in our old home town for the weekend, we enjoyed a walk through this nice park again. This was not here when we live din Blenheim, and is a great feature.
We have found a number of caches in this park over the years, this one is interesting, featuring the information on the plaque.
The final was not too difficult to find after a reference to the clue - a good idea to reduce the cachers loosening too many of the rocks.

With a bit of spare time on my hands today, I decided to head over to Marlborough to find a few more caches over there. Wow! Over 5 years since I found the previous Tendo cache! Time at last for me to have a go at this 2nd edition. A very pleasant day for a stroll in the park. Sat at WP1 and sorted out information needed to find the cache. With that in hand and the helpful hint checked, the cache was found in pretty much the first place I looked. TFTC, Biggles.
Finally! I've been meaning to get this one for almost a year, but was always thwarted by muggles in the area. Then I lost my coordinates and had to start again - anyway, finally worked out the coordinates again yesterday, but couldn't search because of council workers nearby. Managed to get back for a brief visit today. A windy day meant Miss 3 and I had the place to ourselves and after a brief search around I had my hands on it. Yay! There was a bug in it too. Tftc!
We put the car on auto pilot and we arrived in Blenheim without incident. Those Air Force boys make it a worthy destination which gives opportunity to cache out a small area on a Sunday drive. We arrived at GZ after a pleasant wander through a park we didn't know about and when the GPS read 0.38m we noted the info given and constructed the coords to the final. Much to our surprise within a few steps we noticed two more features capable of answering the same questions and then giving the same coords. At least you won't struggle at the last hurdle We ambled to GZ proper and had to time it right because of a few people walking their dogs very close. No problems though. The cache is all good and put back as found. Thank you Kiwi Explorer
Our initial plan was to head to Golden Bay today but weather complications decided us against it so off to Blenheim once again.
Not sure why we haven't noticed this multi before in this lovely park. The only downside was all the cardboard scattered on the hillside despite there being a crate there specifically for it.
The numbers were soon acquired and then off to GZ to find the final.
Thank you Kiwi Explorer.

To be honest it took longer to find the plaque than it should have. Sometimes you just don't see what is under your nose I guess. But clue to final destination was spot on and luckily it was a muggle free time of day. Easy quick grab. TFTC kiwi and that is a milestone cache for me at number 100.
We've been in Blenheim for the week for a bit of R&R, kicking off last weekend with the Wine and Food Festival. Today Nana had the kids, so we had the chance to get out on our own and to tackle a couple of puzzle caches I'd solved. It made sense to carry on up the hill and to grab a couple more too. On the way back to our parking spot we detoured through here (more by chance than good planning...whoops) and quickly got to work on finding the co-ordinates. I actually used one of the engraved stones not the plaque to find the co-ordinates, but thankfully it didn't matter, the numbers came out just the same!
It didn't take long to get to GZ - oh boy, now the work was about to begin....... actually a pretty quick find given the difficulty one might've faced in this 'painful' spot.

Didnt have pen but will wright it later... was first multi cache was great fun trying to work it just with internet gps.
Out and about with Kiwimykl attempting to clear as many of the local caches that I can. KM has most of these already which gives me an advantage but I didn't need his help for a QEF tonight.

We were in the park reliving old memories and decided to look for this cache. The required numbers were soon found which led quickly to the cache. Loved watching the sliding on cardboard!. TFTC
This had fallen off the bottom of the list in the last couple of trips to Blenheim so Mrs SoBad had put it on the day's must do list and left the navigator to plan the day. It was always intended to be at the end of the day after a walk in the Hills - but the walk was not expected to be a long as it was. So it was close to being left again - until her kind fellow cacher told her to head for it. Even that proved an issue as the autorouting put us wrong - and we nearly defaulted to a trad until the way to the park was spotted.
After all that, the cache was a straightforward find. The waypoint was clear, the new coordinates took us to a good spot and the hint was conclusive.
It was nice to finish the day with a find that was almost a park n grab - but in a nice park that Mrs Sobad was very happy to revisit.

Mrs S had this on her list on the previous two visits to Marlborough by the SS team but the truth was we didn't get anywhere near it on either occasion. Today it was only a few hundred metres off a sensible route home and it was a great way to round off a most excellent day caching. A date like that deserves a multi . TFTC .
Nice little relatively easy multi. Had to wait for a couple of muggles to go by before completing logbook. TFTC.
on a day with almost no muggle around here it was a quick little multi.
thanks for the cache

Find #459 for the BAMMJams - just one find for us today, to fill in a bit of time close to home. A few muggles floating around, but none that were near or worried by us. Easily found the details needed at WP1, and were honing in on GZ a few moments later. Took us a couple of minutes looking until we found it, but found it we did. The mini-BammJams dropped a dice for future swag collectors, since the container was big enough to hold swag. TFTC.
With nickez23 & family. Not many muggles around today. First cache with co-ords to find completed, nice. Was really pleased new one placed as had tried for old Tendo earlier year with no joy.
Went to this lovely Japanese garden to do this multi paddle chick had solved quick easy find .Tftc kiwi explorer
I found the previous cache here and it's great to see another one to replace it. It's too nice an area not to have a cache. Had the coordinates calculated in no time and nanzie made a quick find. Thanks Kiwi_Explorer

I have really enjoyed my visits to this lovely park - each time for a cache. First was Captain_s' Waterfalls and Serenity and it was a prime example of caches that lead you to places that you didn't know existed. The other visit was for your first cache here - both memorable in their own way and now there is this one which has finally made me really understand the name of the cache as I either didn't read the description or remember the significance last time. Drove over the hill for a long weekend today.
Staying within 250M of this cache so made a dash across the park as soon as we arrived.
Nice to return to this park for our second find.

#9404. This is an interesting park; good to be back for another visit to explore a bit more of it. TFTC.
We had visited this park before when looking for the original Tendo (and we were last to find it, I hope we hadn't contributed to its demise), so made a wee detour here across a paddock from a Wither Hills track as we were walking back to the car.
A multi here is a great idea as it forced me to explore the park more and I saw things that I missed on the first visit. We soon found the correct plaque and quickly had some co-ords. After a wee walk, we were at the final. Oh, no, this could take a while, so used the hint. Spot on for me and the cache was in the first place I looked. Dropped in a TB, as we seemed to have found mainly micros today and it was good to find something big enough for it.
Thanks for Tendo #2, the sequel is even better than the first, and a fav point from me.

A grey drizzly afternoon - just visited "Gone to the dogs" - and this was too close to pass by without a look.

We were in town for the airshow and the logical other leisure activity was geocaching. This was the first find of the trip. It was fairly straightforward, and (not being a local) took me to a new place. Thanks for the cache.

[green] I have a spare weekend so decided to put in a bit of work at clearing out Blenheim before I leave in a few days. After walking around the tops of the Wither Hills I am now on my way back to where I stashed my bike. I have found the earlier Tendo, and and pleased to be forced to visit this beautiful garden again. Gets a favourite for the garden, I hope I gave one on the earlier cache too! Finding the cache was a slight problem - I had the right rock but had to look twice.
Quite a tale here. The kids and I decided to take the day off today and spend the morning in the park. After a picnic morning tea, we wandered around and quickly had the cache in hand. We stopped in to see a friend who lives a few doors down on our way home. She had something for me - the cache container for Tendo #1! . I had talked to her about Geocaching before so when she found an open container with Geocache written on it, contents strewn, clearly 'Muggled' (with some colourful words written in the log) and in the middle of the park, she decided to keep it safe and pass it on to me to return it home So I have the original cache container and the log with me - would you like me to return it to its original spot for you to collect ... or I am happy for to meet up and hand it over Just gimme and email. Thanks for the new cache
With the end of the work day looming, and no logs yet online Capperz, Kiwimykl and myself headed off to try for a F T F on this one. My phone was playing up, it's still 90m away while Kiwimykl was zeroing in on the required information. Plotted the numbers and we were off to find the cache. Some muggles seated nearby handily got up and moved as we made our way over, so once the coast was clear we could make the find. Hang on, that's not an empty log. Beaten to it by the b&w team who must be in town today. T F T C. Nice to see another multi around.

I had been avoiding this caches predecessor due to a few recent DNF's, so when capperz mentioned there was a new 'Multi' in its place and asked if I wanted to come on a FTF adventure, I was all for it. GH6710 was invited along as well to share the spoils. On the drive to the GZ we thought we saw a fellow cacher heading away from the area, so our hopes dropped for getting the FTF. Once we arrived and parked the cars, we headed for the IP, going in opposite directions... someones c:geo app wasn't playing the game. Eventually we locked onto the right point and worked out the final coordinates. As we headed to GZ the last muggles in the park departed leaving free to complete our search which didn't take long.
Unfortunately B&W had got there earlier this afternoon so the FTF was off the menu... still it was an interesting interlude to what was shaping up to be a boring afternoon.
This was the first time I had been to this part of town and was impressed with how the Japanese theme exuded an air of serenity and that deserves the reward of a FP.

As the others I was with have already said this cache eluded my FTF list, but not by much I reckon.
I saw three newly listed caches pop up on my radar this afternoon and timing was right for G H 6 7 1 0 and kiwimykl to team up with me to have a crack at the sought honours. I'd found the previous incarnation of this cache a couple of years ago and could not find this when checking lately for others. No problems with the solving of the numbers but nearby seated muggles looked to be thwarting our attempts.
Luckily as we ambled over the muggles departed and G H 6 7 1 0 spotted the hide in it's place. Sgning duties completed in 2TF position, looks like the bumandworker team have beaten us to a potential FTF, oh well
T F T C Kiwi Explorer, thanks for placing another cache here in such a timely manner.
And have never heard of the song Tendo #2, oh sorry, wrong series!

Went for a walk with the family tonight to get some exercise and halfway there realised that hubby hadn't found Tendo. Tried to find it on the map but it was gone....but hey! there's a NEW one! Carried on our way and ran into a bunch of people running around with phones in their hands looking like they're trying to find something.
"What are you doing?"
"What are YOU doing?!"
"We're playing a game"
"What game?"
"We're..um....geocaching"
"Oh. We're playing a better game....ingress"
I don't agree with their assessment. I think our game is better. And this cache certainly proved it. The youngest member of the coastalmartinis clan managed to find this one himself. He was so proud.

Was very excited to be going out tonight to get my 200th find, and I wasn't disappointed. Sad to hear that the original Tendo had gone missing. Hopefully this one will stay in place for some time.
