No luck. Given all the other DNFs, I'm typing it's gone! Perhaps some maintenance is required by the cache owner...
On a cold wet windy afternoon we were hoping for a quick find. But no nothing in the usual places so we retreated to the dry warm car.
We were unable to locate this one today… wondering if it’s gone walkabouts
hopefully it will be here next time we come down!!

The phone was very indecisive and was back and firth between two likely objects but neither of them giving me any joy today

Enjoying our weekend away at Phillip Island. We made this the destination this weekend to attend the CITO the previous day. Today’s efforts were on the western part of the island. Really beautiful day.
One of the last caches for the day and really nice views.

A quick find in a place familiar to most geocachers. I then continued trying to spot the whales, with no luck yet. Cheers!
On a road trip to Phillip Island for a couple of weeks, picking up random caches as we travel around seeing the sites. Today was wet, so we went for a cruise around the Island and picked up a couple of easily accessible caches which didn't require a lot of walking and were close to parking. We came here to check out the view and while it was raining the cache was only a few metres away so Mr Pooky jumped out of the geo4WD for a quick look and soon had the cache in hand. After bringing it back to the dry geo4WD to sign the log he then made another dash to replace the cache. TFTC.

In the afternoon of our sightseeing-day on Phillip Island, on the way back to campground we went on searching caches with great view. Had a picnic here.

What a great place to come and sit and watch the ocean do it’s thing. The cache was exactly where we guessed it would be, which isn’t a bad thing when you’ve got muggles coming at you from all directions. SL TFTC
Victoria Day 5: Phillip Island and back again.
Today’s main agenda was to visit Phillip Island for the Penguin Parade, but that left us with the better part of the day for other affairs. One of the aims was the old cache at the Cranbourne Botanic Gardens, and to have a very nice hike through Cape Woolamai on Phillip Island. All the objectives were had and we had a very good time watching the penguins retuning home, though that did mean a very late return to Melbourne. A great day out with a side of caching.
This is the specific log for this cache:
A short stop here for the amazing views of the Bay and of course, for the cache. Always like it when the lure of the cache leads to a nice spot with excellent views. TFTC!

This cache was a nice quick find in what today was a muggle free Ground Zero. We signed the log book and then replaced as found. Thanks so much for the cache and greetings from Zimbabwe

Came down this way to attend an event and decided to continue caching in the area. A quick find, but I had to wait for the sightseers to leave before I could replace.

Caching this weekend looking for the gems in the museum mystery hunt. Grabbing caches after the local CITO today. Quick park and grab in a very common hiding place TFTC Gonefishen07
Quick easy find. In the rain we are here on the island for a CITO thanks for the cache Gonefishen07

We are having a holiday in Phillip Island this week. Being the Queen's Birthday Long Weekend, coupled with some lovely weather, made it very busy, with muggles out everywhere you went. There were many people walking and riding along the trails today.
Out taking in a few sights around the island and picking up a few quick finds while getting about. This was a quick find.
Thanks Gonefishen07 for all the effort of placing the cache for us to find and doing the maintenance to keep it in play

Out this morning, grabbing some caches before my family woke up. The last 2 days have been perfect weather but today I got very wet! After getting rained out I was looking for some drive bys arms I got one here! Tftc!
We made this a drive by with JMorg stopping the car right next to GZ. One foot out and i could grab the container but i never seem to be able to slide these ones open!! So I handed in across to her for opening and signing. This was our last on the island - time to pack up the van and head home. We hardly made a dent in the caches on the island so we will definitely be back.
Number 15 for the day and 29 overall on our trip to the island.

We almost made this one a drive by. Our 29th for the weekend, and last on Phillip Island this was quickly found. I seem to have a knack of opening these ones that Cathylm hasn't worked out so it was passed to me to open and sign then back to Cathylm to rehide.
Thanks for the fun and looking forward to our next assault on Phillip Island caches as there are so many more around now.

We are staying in an Airbnb just around the corner and I have come to do what I enjoy, had to wait for a couple of cars to leave before I could grab and sign the log. TFTC
After geohubby scattering because people scare him. I quicky just found the cache signed and replaced it. Tftc
Busy here today so the waiting game was on. Grabbed the cache in between muggle traffic, bought it back to the car to sign, then had to wait a few more minutes before we could place it back.
Another lovely area Gonefishen07. Thanks again.

An early start to get down here for the 10 am event.
We actually stopped here for some lunch and this cache was a pleasant bonus.
Since I'm still "on the mend" we have been after mostly drive by and short walks. All low terrain for now.
This one did nicely.
Enjoyed watching the aerobatics over at the track.
Thanks for the cache with a feed, a view and a show Gonefishen07.

A day trip to Treasure Island with n0w0rries and our Geomutts, EveTheStaffy and MaxTheCollie.
First stop was the "7 Months to the BIG one in St Arnaud - Cowes" event with surefoot24 and others. A few caches along the foreshore and we had to visit Wazza65's hide after chatting with him at the event.
Time for lunch now.
n0w0rries wandered over and retrieved the cache as I set about arranging our picnic.
Only a couple of muggles passed by whilst we were here.
Watched the air show over the GP track as we ate our smoked trout and cheese platter.
A lovely spot made even better with a Gonefishen07 cache. [^]

After a successful 'lead up to another Victorian Mega' event in nearby Cowes, we decided to head out caching for the day. We were keen to check out some of the 'Treasure Island' series which seem to be all over the island.
I dropped some pathtags (including one rare 'translucent red' The Empire 2015 tag) in some of the caches this afternoon. Thanks for the cache Gonefishen07.

Another little detour to grab a cache that GJMMelb had already found as we worked our way along the south coast of the island. No trouble finding this one although the obvious place based on previous PI finds proved to be the wrong one as this one was in a more "urban" hiding place. A few muggles passing through weren't an issue as the cache was retrieved and logged quickly. TFTC
We took a wrong turn but decided that we werent going out of our way if we meant it. Stunning views. TFTC
Beautiful spot. Have admired this view for a while and glad this is hear to share it. Easy find, lovely spot TFTC
We were disappointed at gz to see a car parked right where we thought we needed to be. Parked anyway and after a quick reconnaissance we realised our car was perfectly to obscure the phone call making car muggle. Sooo found and signed. Tftc.
What do you do when you make a wrong turn? Find a cache, of course!
Ambled down to the end of this road and made a quick find. Another smiley for our Phillip Island map. Thank you.

09/09/2018 - 1.17pm - Find No. 966 - 4th of 5 finds and 2 dnf's for the day - with Non-geo-son.
We had loosely made plans to do a bit of geocaching earlier in the week & to head a bit out of our normal direction to allow for some new areas for his Pokemon/Ingress bits while I did some finding. I hadn't heard one way or the other about the trip after our initial discussion so I was pleasantly surprised when ngs sent a message to say he was out of bed & on the way, via gyms, stops & portals between his & mine of course! I had re-loaded finding device with a few more caches just in case the night before (which could have been testing the limits of finding devices capacity...) so I was ready when he arrived with a map loaded to check out the best direction to head for me to get a handful of caches & him to do some Po-Go/Ing stuff. After map perusal it was decided to head towards Tooradin or thereabouts ... well we started that way & ended up on Phillip Island instead ... Sort of close?
The weather was cloudy with a bit of a gusty breeze but we enjoyed it being slightly warmer than we had expected ... a pleasant day to head out for a bit of Pokemon/Ingress/Geocaching. We let the cache & known Pokemon/Ingress locations be our guide starting with Surf Beach, Sunderland Bay & then back past Scenic Estate before we headed off the island & made a stop at the cheese place at Bass for some afternoon tea before heading home but completely missing the location NGS had thought to stop at ... I had forgotten & he turned back towards home too soon, oh well ... next time for that one. We did encounter some misty rain & stronger wind along the way during the day & even some heavier rain while we were attempting to find a tricky one while we were in the midst of some ti-tree (yep ... where we got a dnf) but all in all it was a nice leisurely trip.
Our fifth geocaching stop had parking in an empty parking area but with a muggle couple stopping to take photos of each other on the stairs with wet stuff in the background. I can't work out why they all seem to need people in all their photos? I like taking pictures with the view without extras & one or 2 only to show they were there too .. The weather had turned a bit darker with a little light drizzle threatening & quite a stiff breeze doing it's thing. NGS found the prefect place to park to get the Level 8 Portal (I believe that's supposed to be good ... but what do I know?) after he let me out closer to where I needed to be. The photo couple were still just in sight down the first set of stairs so I did a bit of aimless wandering/camera pointing till they became engrossed & moved further out of sight & that left me to do my snooping, swooping & retuning to car to do the photo'ing, opening, signing & closing. Luckily the cache behaved itself as I find getting into these types of container a bit of a challenge sometimes. Maybe my hands just aren't strong enough for the slightly tougher ones? I found, signed & returned cache as found without anyone showing any interest in what I was doing. Camera did it's bit of it's thing but the weather made me head back to the safety/warmth a bit sooner than the other caches along the way. [;D] Thanks for the hunt Sorry for the late log ... just couldn't get my brain to give me words.

I headed out today with biggles1024 for a trip down to Phillip Island, it has been a while since we have been down this way and there are so many more caches to find now since the last time.
After a long day we were looking for a couple of driveby's to finish the day, this one fitted in nicely.

Continuing on our adventure after attending the Alexandra Mega Event, we found ourselves spending a few days on Phillip Island. While we tried to take advantage of the many great places to see on the island, we were pre-occupied with trying to complete the qualifying requirements for a particular challenge cache we had signed in Ballarat prior to the Surf Coast Mega Event last year. It really does pay to check the finer details of a challenge cache before you decide to look for it We had thought you needed to have found 100 caches in Victoria, but it was only when we came to log it that we realised the 100 caches in Victoria had to have been placed by the same cache owner
Anyway, initially we thought we would complete the challenge by doing the Mt Disappointment caches, but then friends who knew we were heading to Phillip Island told us we would easily qualify for the challenge there, and they would be much more interesting caches Well they were quite interesting, and some of them were downright sneaky
In the end, we had an enjoyable couple of days exploring Phillip Island and finding a variety of cache hides, with some great walks along some of the beaches and other places
Thank you Gonefishen07 for having placed the cache and maintaining it for everyone to enjoy

Took a day off work today to join the Kids excursion to Phillip Island surfing. I arrived 3hrs early, as you do, and explored as many local beaches and short walks that I could. Some amazing beaches around here that I gave never been to before, and plenty of rocks which I love clambering around. Any off to assist with the surfing now, but maybe a few more sneaky cache later on this afternoon. TFTC
In Melbourne with Cravo10 to attend the Mega in Alexandra.
We took the red eye from Perth, leaving at 1am Thursday morning, and departed Melbourne early Tuesday morning, so it was a short five day trip.
We managed to snag a couple of nice stats for the trip. First mega event, 12 cache types in a day, 10 lab caches, 50th large cache find, and most importantly my 10,000th find at Mount Disappointment.
We spent the first day on a caching run from
Melbourne to Phillip Island where we had booked into the local caravan park for the evening. We cached all day chasing down a number of the whereigo and puzzle caches from the CF series, before ending the day caching the extremities of Phillip Island, where we had both never been, an amazing part of this country.
Next morning we cached our way to Alexandra which was the main reason for our trip to Melbourne as we had both never managed to attend a mega, which were hoping to rectify in WA next year! Attended the pre event and managed to get a couple of group FTFs by torchlight which was a real highlight.
Saturday we cached in and around Alexandra all day, chasing numbers, the highlight of the day would have to be the birdbox hides around Alexandra and the multi in Bonnie Doon from that famous TV show, a real nice touch!
Sunday was an epic caching day, chasing down 12 types in a day, which required a couple of huge drives to claim some of the rarer icons around. A huge caching stat which is a very rare feat in the Southern Hemisphere. We finished the day travelling to Mount disappointment where we found Melbourne's 1st cache and then started making a dent in the powertrail, finishing by torchlight.
Our last full days caching was spent at Mount Disappointment to chase some big numbers and with a few caches around the burbs for good measure.
Special thanks to all the wonderful COs around Melbourne for their brilliant caches, and to the mega committee for organising a ripper event, hope to be back next year!

On a 6 day tour of Victoria with Barnzy12. Taking the red eye over from Perth we managed to visit some great places. The main reason for the travel was the Mega event in Alexandra and the opportunity to find 12 cache types in a day.
We originally travelled to Phillip bay, then up through the country side to Alexandra. Spent a few nights staying high in the snowfields and then moved over to Mt Disappointment. We then ended up back where we started returning the hire car at the airport to fly home.
Some quality caches were found all over the state, great to get a real range of cache sizes with some very large caches compared to what’s available in WA and the range of D/T options so close to each other was a bonus.
Thanks to all the Cache owners for you placements and creativity put into hiding and have awarded a few fav points based on this or the location it bought us too.

We had dropped in for a quick visit nearby and there was just enough time for a walk down to the beach. Found, signed and replaced in between passing muggles. The views from here were fantastic.

Today was my monthly outing with Biggles Bear, this time joined by Kiwideb. We headed to Phillip Island to attack the new Treasure Island series. We didn't expect to finish (and we didn't), but did a couple of extra caches along the way. Nice quick find in the obvious spot.
My thanks to Gonefishen07 for the cache.

Found in the company of Muzza and Biggles Bear. Let Muzza and Peter retreive the cache. Many thanks

Nice quick one to finish off the afternoon. The troops are restless and its time to prepare tea. TFTC

Found this one on my travels around Phillip Island. As with all the places I visited today, the views were spectacular.
