Found 14 Sep 2024 at 6:36:56AMThis weekend I played part of the support crew for the Vic North Last Man Standing Backyard Ultra event in Shepparton, but also managed to find some time to find a few caches along the way. This was cache number 1, a quick fun find, then onto Nagambie for parkrun. Many thanks to Cybergran V for placing U fer Me for us all to find. On the way to an event tomorrow and stopped off here as a short detour. Looked in the right place first butnot too well as the GPS said 7m away. But after walking in circles, I read past logs and went back for a quick find. Thanks.
Found on a second attempt in the baking noon sun. Clever cache. Wear closed toe footwear.
Never knew I had a knack for fishing too! Lucky the ants didn't muggle it away...tftc!
Easy peasy. A few too many wines last night at the Mitchellstown winery postponed finding this one till today. Had to go to Tahbilk winery to recharge the caching eyes this morning before attempting this on.
Spent long time looking in wrong place as our coords were 9m out. Eagle-eyed spouse found it as we were walking away. From one pair of 50+ year marrieds to another, TFTC!
What a beautiful rural area, and my fav winery nearby. Hmmm, caching or a quick visit
What a fun little cache in a beautiful rural area. Before i found the geocache i found this special little natural cache too. My favorite winery is just here, will i cache or be distracted? hmmm...
Lots of mozzies around today. Luckily I was a good fisherman and found the GZ quickly. There were ants all over but they didn't get to my catch and I stamped the log and walked away with a smiley and a few mozzie bites too I reckon. Enjoyed the well thought out cache. TFTC.
While I had planned to do the mega event in Whittlesea, I had also planned to include a couple of extra days either side for some caching. Then I get a call to come earlier and stay with a mate. Well, as things have changed a little personally it seemed like a great way to chill and have some catch up time with them.
So I Have arrived at the house and the first thing is to check what caches are in the area. ok we have a couple just a short walk away. After the hellos and check ins we got to go for a walk, I suggested caching, Oh are you one of those people? I’ve heard about it and done a couple, but never really gotten in to it.
Then we head out for a drive to collect a couple of special caches this was one of those. Thanks for the cache and the hide

Ring fairly busy at work and manage to knock off early tonight so we thought we go for a little bit of a drive come across this interesting one thank you very much
Out and about on the Geo-motorcycle today, I nice quick bit of fishing here soon had the cache hooked and signed.

One of my favourite shows is Only Fools & Horses so I know a little of the cockney lingo, well the lingo from the 80’s, and now use the word ‘plonker’ when referring to an idiot.
After a big day out yesterday with Crustyvarmint & juzzmagic, we met up with the boys at their camp ground early this morning for a day of caching. This was our first stop and I’m kind of glad I was last on the scene. Juzzmagic made a quick find, woke up the ants, logbook was quickly signed, then we all retreated back to our cars.
Thanks for sharing this special place with us Cybergran V.

Out for a couple of days with Juzzmagic and Knight_shift, we camped overnight at Majors Creek Reserve, and visited this cache as we left this morning.
The ant army were doing their best to protect the possession, but Ron walked straight to it, and we had it signed, and tucked away again, quite quickly.
Thanks Cybergran V, it's a lovely area.

Watch out for the ants all around this cache. Firstly the cache is now on the opposite side of the road, according to our GPS, secondly the name of the street has been changed, and the cache is in good condition and easy to find. TFTC. Nice quick easy find, SL, and left a few more swaps for the kids to find. Cheers.
Happy Australia Day everyone and it looks like it’s a good day to go for a drive and pick up a few caches up north of Melbourne.
Air con and cruise control on, plenty of water in the fridge so off I go.
After spending the morning in Seymour and nearly clearing that town out of caches it was time to keep heading North to the next town which is Longwood.
After completing Longwood, it was time to head back towards Melbourne but I took the old Hume Hwy through Locksley , Avenel then Mangalore.
Looked at the clock and thought a couple more in Nagambie will finish the day off just nicely.
After finding the cache at the 2 bridges I ventured further along the road to this one.
The last time I was up here visiting Mitchellstown winery was for my nephews wedding which was a good evening.
I have done a few of the Fer series caches and now another one to add to the list.
Thanks Cybergran V TFTC.

TFTC! Spotted the likely location as we pulled up and soon found the cache in its little hidey spot. Found with mrx2 and diablo1234.
Found with Muzza, McLookers, Maccamob and BecNmonts. A nice easy find today thanks Cybergran.
Found by David, in convoy with Beck'n'Monts, Alansee, McLookers and muzza. After about 6 hours on the northern Lake at Nagambie for the VNL series, we reassembled at Kirwans Bridge to do several more caches on the long way back to Nagambie. The last one for the day and, after all the paddling earlier, happily an easy one. Our thanks to Cybergran V.
Out and about in the area, we did some fishing for this one! Thanks for placing the cache Cybergran V.
Grabbed this one while in the area today. Fun cache construction, thanks Cybergran V. Found with maccamob, Alansee and beckNmonts.
A nice quick park and grab, to be honest I spent more time looking at the winery instead of for the actual cache!

What a privilege. A private tour of the past family farm, and siiting next to me is not only the CO of this cache, but more importantly, one of the family members. How lucky am l to be accepted into this family. Was a very special trip down memory lane that l will never forget. Thank you V for giving me the gold class tour, but most importantly, for accepting me into the family. May the good times roll.
I found this on my morning walk while staying at Mitchelton for the weekend. I didn’t have my glasses so the combination of orange pen, no glasses and breaking daylight meant my signature on the log is a bit ho-hum
Enjoyed reading about the family connection here and spotted what I thought could be the cache as feathertop and I drove past to turn around. Sure enough it was. A very nice hide here.
Congrats on your Golden Wedding anniversary - Great achievement.

Cockney themed caches must be a thing for Shepparton people as team rubik had this theme once long ago.
Lovely to see your personal connection to this lovely spot. Love this area and the wine too.
6Hinemoa2 was all over this one before I even got out of the car.
Cheers Val.

With rain predicted for the day family Perpetuallylost decided a day touring around the district would be the order for the day, rather than sitting around the caravan park.
Actually had the camo in my hand almost straight away but dismissed it, then spent far too long searching around the wrong areas before trying it again.
Then got back in the car and my feet and legs were covered in ants!
Thx Cybergran V for a novel cache, well done. And a very nice location as well!

A quick park and grab for this one. Happy to have located another of the Cockney Alphabet series, only 3 to go now I think. Thanks CybergranV for this cache and the series.
Heading home, I targetted a few caches near Nagambie. I found it in the first place I looked. Unfortunately, I didn't look hard enough, and moved on to nearby objects, before finally coming back to the original spot.
Many thanks to Cybergran V for the cache.

Found this one on the way home after picking up a couple of trackables around the nearby area. Whilst doing the fishing for this one we were caught by heaps of small black ants that wanted to bite us. So one the cache was fished out and quickly signed and returned to its resting spot. Due to the heat this was our last cache for the day and we made our way home to cool off. TFTC.
After inspecting the old/new bridge we made a short detour to grab some fish for tea.....well the fish weren't biting so it seemed but we managed to get ourselves a log to sign and another smiley instead
Thanks Cybergran V for the fun fishing hole.

After almost getting cleaned up by a local on the bridge this ended up being a park and grab. TFTC
Mr Riddell had the cache in hand before Mrs Riddell was out of the car!
Your family farm must have been huge and you must be very sentimental every time you pass by.

Found this one at Easter during our stay in Nagambie. Forgot to log the visit! GPS was jumping around a little, and I asked GeoJack to look in a likely spot. Nope. So we kept searching. Then I decided to check the spot, and yep, there it was. Never trust a 9 year old I guess. TFTC
After two unable to retrieve logs today I came here prepared for this to be missing, but it was intact.
However it was still there but someone had attached a travel bug outside it, making it difficult to retrieve the cache.
I have removed the trackable, and replaced the container which is hopefully waterproof. If people yank it too hard when retrieving it, puts a crack in the lid allowing water to enter it.

Out and about doing some geocaching to fill in a few more gaps in the LG challenge. We have done a few of the cockney alphabet so decided we would do these along the way. Love this series great fun haven't been to Mitchelton winery for years, probably not long after it opened, its all action as they gear up for summer on the green.
Found after a nice hike from a nearby campsite dropped a travel bug here, very good cache
The Sisterhood of the Cargo Pants slipped over towards Seymour for a days caching. The weather was much milder than we expected although it got pretty soggy towards the end.
And then the rain came tumbling down so it was a quick grab in teh thinder and lightening.
It was a fun day - thanks Cybergran V

Headed off today with the Sisterhood of The Cargo pants, for a days caching.
The rain and thunder hit just as we starting looking for this one, it was very loud.
I missed it on the first sweep, only to find the other sisters signing the log in the same place I had looked first, as I was running for cover from the storm. I blame the storm! TFTC

Out with the Sisters today and this was at the end of our day. The storm hit just as we arrived with thunder so loud it hurt my ears. Geogetters said it'll be there and checked and said no its not and moved on. We checked again and yes it was where Geogetters said it was in the first place she was just scared by the storm. Found on a caching day while on holidays with the boyfriend. Nice easy find
Replaced the cache as it had been leaking, only to find that the brand new cache has an identical leak like in the same spot. However I put the log in a ziplock bag, so hopefully it will remain dry.
I also dropped in a trackable

Mother's Day was last month however Cybergran V had her special day today when dalerious gave her her present: a trip to the 5 Months to the event in Alexandra - Werribee event [^]
They kindly allowed me to tag along and by day's end I had the only DNF which I think I will ever cheer about getting , 13 cache finds and 1 event attendance
This area has a lot of memories for Cybergran V as it was her childhood home so it was an honour to find this cache while enjoying her company [^]
Some maintenance was done and the new cache was left in situ

First, congratulations on your golden anniversary. That is a wonderful achievement that we hope to reach one day too. Currently my wife and I have been married 17 years and we were at Mitchelton Vineyard celebrating the marriage of 2 newlyweds.
Certainly loved the location and wasn't expecting the viewing tower. Locally produced wine was a very good quality too.
Sneaking off between courses to get this cache we were startled by 2 kangaroos bounding between the vines and they stopped to watch us past. Another highly interesting cache that we have come to expect from your geocaches V. Thousands of ants have seemed to call this spot home however, who weren't to impressed, but we were.
Thanks for the geocache Cybergran V.
