Took a minute of searching and dodging the masses. Always satisfying to sign a brand new log.

We have a few nights in Christchurch and as there were some caches near the motel we decided to go for a walk to get them. We ended up covering just under 19km for the day and collected quite a few caches. Unfortunately we did have some DNF's but with any luck they will appear again before we head home from our holiday. This took a few minutes to eventually find. We weren't paying attention to the surrounds, otherwise we would have spotted the geotrail earlier. Once seen, cache was located quickly. tftcNB: the log is full#7221
Thanks Owner
I love jigsaw puzzles so was very happy to solve this one and get the coordinates. Made a quick find on Christmas Day evening, as not too many people were about. TFTC
This one took me awhile. not because it was difficult to find, more because there was a muggle watching over the area on the nearby seats! I was going to give up and come back under the cover of darkness, when afformentioned muggle moved on... excellent. Thanks Jude_E for keeping this one going! Still have a few more up my sleeve for other days.
TFTC Jude_E, the cache was found in good order Signed, sealed and returned to GZ. 1 find(s) of 1 today, making this find #3837

I tried finding this cx on a previous trip, but gave up. With the recent finds, I tried again today and found it. TFTC.
#12,365. I am staying at my sisters place near Leeston and making my way towards the city and up to the north for biggish day of caching and doing ad labs. I solved all the jigidis last year and was planning to pick up a few today. Had to park in a back street as main roads around here have lots of yellow lines. Wandered down to GZ and spotted the cache in the first place checked. Thanks Madcat9 for the puzzle and Jude_E for adopting the cache.
Had the puzzled solved ages ago. Spent way too long at GZ but finally the penny dropped and I had the container retrieved. Signed the lig and returned to its hiding spot. Thanks for maintaining the series, JudeE! TFTC
Found on my second visit here, I figured the first time I just didn't look hard enough as someone found it a day or two later.
Pre-loaded with antihistamines I'm hoping that the tons of grass pollen and seed all over me won't be too much of a problem.
Thanks for adopting and maintaining these caches Jude_E
I'm looking forward forward to coming back in the future with my partners daughter once she has completed the animal puzzles as I gifted her a Premium Membership for Christmas

Team G0LD: Geocachers 0B80B8, Lis's crew and DaffyNZ are down from Whangarei for a few days. We've all solved the 4 big geoarts so they are the main target for the trip. Of course there were many other puzzles solved as well which filled in the 24th. The 25th was the Smurfs and Fresh Breath. 26th was Rattle and Horses. We certainly made a great dent in my solved puzzle list but I'll still have enough for another trip.
My kids like doing these types of puzzles and it was my daughter who did this one back in July of 2017. Wow, I had no idea it was that long ago. We parked a wee bit away as it was on a busy road. It didnt take too long to uncover this one. Thanks for the fun little puzzle series.

Team G0LD ( 0B80B8, Lis's crew & DaffyNZ ) on a caching mission to Christchurch. We had travelled down from Whangarei yesterday, so today was our first full day to get into it.
Solved puzzles were going to be the main focus of our trip. We had spent a lot of 2020 and 2021 solving over 400 puzzles, so we had a lot on our list. Thankfully the weather looked like it was going to play ball today, as caching in the rain is always just that bit harder.
Looked again around where I had looked last year but it was Lis who found the cache just a little deeper under. Pleased to convert another blue grumpy. TFTC

Been here a few times. Bought a few experienced spotters. Pleased to have to off my to-do list.
This was our second attempt at finding this one as there were maintenance workers at GZ on our first visit. We found a magnetic eclipse container (which contained a TB that we picked up) although I've just noticed from the logs that this was replaced with a round micro. Log signed and we returned the container to where we found it as this seemed to be the correct location.
There's been a resurgence in the old jigidi in Motueka lately so as I was heading down to ChCh stumbled across this series. As intended puzzles got steadily harder but managed to complete series so an evening pick up while getting some exercise. Thanks Jud_E for maintaining and MadCat9 for putting it together.
This was another of the jigidi series that was not found unfortunately
Magnetic so it had to be on one of the metal plates that hold the uprights of the bridge in place and while we both searched alot we had no luck . i will re visit this series another visit .

Up in Christchurch with BCD who has a LandSR training course today so once I got the message he had finished it was time to get some caches on our target list.

We told our cat Coco we were off to find caches and one was called a cat. She was more interested in her treats. We solved these fun puzzles a while ago, so today was a fun outing to find them. Left a cat TB here as felt it was very appropriate. Thanks for the puzzle and cache Jude_E.
Another long solved puzzle and this one we had driven past multiple times. Finally had some time in the area to have a look for this one. Cache was quickly spotted. Thanks for the puzzle and the cache.

Down from Northland for a one week trip to Christchurch to pick up some solved puzzles, challenges, unusual cache types, Jasmer grid fillers, as well as a few others in passing.
Time for a few out west and south today. Unfortunately another DNF for me today. Had a good look in the limited time available but nothing magnetic for me today. Thx anyway.

Down in Christchurch with the Squirrel, ABCDF4 and eyespyben. During Covid lockdown, we solved a load of puzzles and decided that this would be a good time to visit. We've enjoyed a few days of good weather and seeing the Canterbury countryside. The caches have been in varying states - some good, some not so much. Our time here has been a blast, and we'd like to thank all COs who have made this adventure possible. Thank you and TFTC.
With ABCDF4, eyespyben, and Gap (of Fap and Gap). Logging all finds as Team HRP (Huntly, Rotorua, Papamoa - Our hometowns)... During Covid-19 lockdown, we solved a truck load of puzzles around Christchurch - Canterbury region. No use thrashing the old grey matter for no cause - We decided we should make good on this handiwork...
There are lots of interesting trails and geoart surrounding Christchurch. What you aren’t told is how far flung some of these caches actually are. Some beforehand advice would have been great, so here are some of my notes... You’re welcome!
1. Mobile coverage is patchy, especially in those quiet, rural areas where it was most needed. Saving caches to offline might show that you are prepared and organised...
2. There are many dusty metal roads on the trails. The car will get messy, and your hair will feel like cardboard at the end of the day...
3. Suitable clothing and footwear are essential. You will climb in and out of hedges, gorse, and other rough stuff. You might get scratched, cut to shreds, and bleed a lot. It’s not advised to wear your brand new jacket on the day...
4. Take lots of food and drink. You’ll probably be head down, tail up and not realise you haven’t eaten until late afternoon. There are very few shops or gas stations out there...
5. Make sure that you secure keys and wallet and know where these are placed for easy retrieval. A full box of pens might be useful too, especially if you’re inclined to free some into the wild...
6. Know the difference between left and right, and north, south, east, and west. Turning right and heading north will not get you to South Christchurch quickly.
7. Look with girl’s eyes rather than boys eyes... Some caches haven’t been found in a while and you might have to get down on your knees to pray.
8. Always be prepared for misleading hints. This is what turns simple caches into D5/T5 hides... “Head height” could mean the cache is positioned at your toes.
9. Have a sense of humour and like the people you go caching with. It’s going to be a very long day, and you might want to hurt someone during the journey...
10. Make sure you can operate your phone/device and it doesn’t crash when you most need it...
11. Learn to cut and paste logs because you’re going to repeat this function so often when logging all of your finds.
12. Above all else, have fun and be kind...
Tired, tired, tired! Four days of early morning and late night caching can knock the stuffing out of you... We decided to take it easy today and focus on some city caches - And maybe finish with some Adventure Labs for good measure. It's Sunday - a day of rest... A short walk to the final. No problem with this hide - Found exactly as hinted. Thanks MadCat9. TFTP and TFTC.

After puzzle solving in the Canterbury region along with EyeSpyBen we were invited to join Fap (from Fap & Gap) and Squirrel Nutcase to a week long caching adventure in the Canterbury area. With flights and accommodation booked were off, all met up in ChCh. and many hard dusty Kms travelled and many caches found, I think the Squirrel has said it all in his brief. Many thanks for the placements and Cos for bringin us to the very pleasant areas we travelled in to your region

Found it nice hide glad it hadn't been raining thank you for the puzzle and the lovely walk
Out with Joojoo57 but today the cat was not coming out to play. Will have to try another day.
Second in the series I have found today, I had solved these quite some time ago and as I have a couple of days in Christchurch before my course starts I am making the most of the opportunity. I am just caching with my phone today which is being a pain and not picking up where I am so I am kind of relying on my geo sense. I went for the most obvious thing the hint related too bit no dice. Explored a bit further and did a manoeuvre I am pretty sure my kitty would be proud of before placing my hands on it. Tftc. Found a nice shady spot to rest for a bit, bliss!

Easier find than most of these series' caches.
Not really a cat person but I enjoy listening to cats purr sometimes.

T'was a few days before Christmas and all the the land a geocache was calling. I had this solved ages ago and have had a couple of dnf's here but today its the day where I got this one. Parked up at the same place as I have done before.
So finally I had this one and log signed Yes, TFTC.

Was in Christchurch for a long weekend as I had to come into Christchurch for a sales meeting Friday as well as I needed to attend our annual Christmas function on Saturday night. Decided to pick up a rental car and if luck would have it I would go around and pick up a few caches between my meeting and the Christmas function. Today was my final day 4 of 4 of my long weekend in Christchurch.
After finding GC5TEKF - Jigidi 9 Seal (Canterbury), I decided that it was time to go back closer to the airport and pick up a few caches in the area before heading back to drop off the rental car, this was the next cache that I had on my list that I decided to look for today , as I wanted to pick up a few more puzzles caches that I had solved quite a while back and yet to find as well as a few other types of caches that were in the area as well.
Arriving at GZ I decided that I would find a safe spot to park before making my way to GZ. The walk back to GZ didnt take too long and once I got to GZ it was a very quick retrieval of this cache, signed and then replaced the cache back as found. Thanks MadCat9 for placing this puzzle cache series here and for bringing me to this spot, TFTC TNLNSL (12819), the second cache of this series that I found today, where to next?

Caching with Team West (rustynz, rebel98, gorby & jag50) day 3, of our wild weekend of fun in Christchurch
Its going to be a marathon effort, but I plan to solve these jigsaw before I log them!
Gorby had already solved them, but somehow the message did not get thru that I should be solving them too. So this afternoon I have been counting down the list, my eyes getting tired as I click and drag.....
Love the series, and the finds. Its going to be a cut and paste log sorry - but I appreciate all your hard work. We got to visit various parks, and it must have been council weed spray day, as we spotted a few workmen out doing there thing.
So we got to look in bridges, fences, trees and pray to the heavens when the caches did not reveal themselves immediately
We even spotted flying fox well we had to try it out, quality control you see [:0]
Whilst I was at every find, it was jag50 who found the majority of the caches, she has this 6th sense and for one cache in particular, a forest of long grasses greeted us, and I thought OMG, but within a minute, she had it, we could have been their for ages, but the universe was on our side.

A group of us West Aucklanders came down to Christchurch for 3 days of caching fun and adventures. Today we happen to be rustynz, Rebel98 and Jag50 x2 and myself Gorby. We do this on a frequent basis… go away for 3 days here there and everywhere, hire a car and go for it caching!
Today, our last day, we had a plan to start on this series. I had solved these months ago now but thought I told the others to solve them - apparently not!
Mr Jag5o drove us around, I did most of the navigating, occasionally Mrs Jag50 double checked, and we all got out of the vehicle at some point in time to make the finds, but mostly it was rustynz and Mrs Jag who did the finds. Loved doing these jigsaw puzzles btw.

Down in Christchurch for a few days with Gorby, Rebel98 and RustyNZ. We had solved this one well ahead of our trip down. On this day we had a series to complete. MrJag50 drove and assisted on helping search for a number of the caches. Gorby navigated mostly with Mrs Jag50 cross checking. RustyNZ and Mrs Jag 50 almost always searched.
Day 10 - of our (The Seagnoid, Toby, Zara, & myself) epic adventure to Oamaru- leaving Geraldine for Hanmer today, heading homewards.
Drop Zara on outskirts of Christchurch and jump in Toby to visit a friend in Riccarton but its still a bit early so lets go caching.
Thanks to The Seagnoid for his puzzle solving capabilities and Madcat9 for puzzle creativity.
Another one snagged. Cheers

Taybeedragon and I are on our way home from a week's serious geofesting in Oamaru. And, yes, I am still logging caches finds from way back then. Over 500 finds in one week! The plan is to stop by a freind's place, but we are a little early. So out with the GPS. I only have the solved puzzles in my GPS for this part of the country and that's fine - puzzle time it is!
Which brings me here. okay, maybe not here. This is a motorway, and there is nowhere to park. there must be something around the other side, assuming we can find the other side! Which of course, there was. And a cache too!

Out and about in the rain with Corunnaroad and my keen grandson. He is perfect for these situations- he scurried around and spotted it. Nice to finally get back to find this- the ast one in the series for us. Thanks for these Madcat9
Kids were watching a Disney movie last night so thought I would try a puzzle as a knew I would be driving past her tomorrow. Took 3-4 minutes at the site and managed without getting too muddy
I had a few of the Jigidi series prepared for this weekend's visit but sadly missed a couple. A fun series in a nice part of town and a lovely fine day to enjoy my visit to the area.

One of us has always enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles, so these Jigidi puzzles were eagerly solved whenever a new one popped up in our email inbox. We were disappointed to run out of time on our trip to the Mega last year, before we could make the finds on the Jigidis. Today we are back in Christchurch, and after a day out in the countryside getting some Fresh Bresh, a few more Angry Birds and a handful of Smurfs, we finished off the day finding all the Jigidis. Some of the hides were straight forward, but a few took a bit more time, and checking of previous logs.
On our approach to the final of Jigidi 7 we noticed a man whisting into the trees nearby. While keeping an eye on him we set about looking for the cache. Mark was out of sight and feeling a bit embarrassed to be in that spot, when the man approached Sherrie, and told her that he was feeling a bit embarrassed to be whistling into the trees. Turns out that his friend who lived nearby had lost a cockateel earlier that day. Seems that geocachers are not the only people doing strange things in parks . . . and at least Mark did spot the cache.
Thanks MadCat9 for the series and the fun.

#12175. The park was in use, but the cache was far enough away that the muggles were not a problem. Quickly spotted once I got to the right spot. TFTC.
After parking near GZ, I looked in the boot for my walking pole (indispensable for winkling out containers) only to discover I had left it behind at the previous cache. Oooops.
Turned out I didn't need it after all, and after looking in a few places, (while Lo Vista and I ran interference as there were some muggles near by), StreetWalker spotted the well hidden cache. Thanks for replacing, would have hated to have missed out on the cat, my "favouritist" animal. TFTC.

We did not trust our solution on our first visit, so did not log the DNF. After reading all the logs we knew that we were in the correct place the first time and today it was an easy find. TFTC
Checked on it today. Cache had disappeared so have replaced with identical container
