Happy New Zealand trip with geocaching.A pity were with muggle friends and cant visit as much as geocaches as we like. I appreciate all the caches we passed and visited. Thanks, anytar, for the cache. Greetings from Taiwan.
Day 18 of our Enzed adventures with Robmc and today we left Te Anau and travelled to Queenstown caching along the way. Not before collecting some delicious muffins at the Merchant Store. The weather is looking very promising and the scenery was pretty good too.Like everybody else we were looking at the wrong but Robmc was at the right one he found the neat little hide. Thanks for contributing to our amazing holiday anytar
Day eighteen of our epic New Zealand Adventure with The Morris.Traveling from Te Anau to Queenstown, with just a few caches done.Cloud over the mountains, but no rain today.Looks like no one has had lunch at Gaynor's for quite a while. (We had ours at the corner shop!)Looked at the wrong end first (that's where the GPS was pointing), then used the clue. Thanks, Robmc.
A plan was hatched quite a while ago when the Dunedin Mega was announced to come over to the South Island again.I have only been to New Zealand twice before and I loved the South Island. So a chance to come back for a Mega was a no brainer for me.Everything was booked and I flew in last Saturday week after a bit of a delay. So after a great couple of days in Invercargill its time to say goodbye.Hopefully the weather improves as Im missing the sunshine that I had earlier on on this trip.So Day 13 of my Mega NZ starts and Im heading off to Wanaka to check out that town.Im not sure if Gaynor has been used for awhile as it is parked down near the jetty. This one took way longer than it should as my GPS was pointing me else where but with a bit of perseverance I found it in the end.At least Gaynor has a nice view of the lake. Thanks anytar TFTC.
We stopped here for lunch and the great vista. I thought about going up the hill but there wasn't really time. There was time to checkin with Gaynor though. Thanks anytar.
#4008 Today is day 19 of my geocaching vacation in New Zealand. I'm driving from Wanaka to Te Anau today and finding geocaches along the way. Found it after finishing the two virtuals. Interesting way of hiding.anytar, thank you for the cache!-crystaloops from Taipei, Taiwan on October 19, 2024 @ 17:14:45[GC5T7R2] What's for lunch Gaynor? (Otago) was a D3.0/T2.0 Micro Traditional Cache at the time of finding.
We didn't have lunch with Gaynor and going by the kitchen I'm pleased we didn't, but we did have lunch about 500m from gz.It wasnt too long before log was in hand and the hint became clear. Thanks for the placement and the smiley
Tftc, spent a bit of time looking and then checked out past logs to discover I was at the wrong end. Cache soon in hand and signed log
Took a while but found it! Nicely protected from rain.Forgot a pen unfortunately TFTC
took us a minute (or 10) before we spotted it. Opposite end to what coordinates said. TFTC
Four of us look for a while, but were unable to spot it We are still there, but we werent good enough to do with this time TFTC
Lovely spot. We also acknowledge the traditional custodians of New Zealand / Aoteroa, as we geocache throughout their land while on holiday. Thanks for showing us this place, & for placing and maintaining this cache. The is our playground
On route from Wnaka to Te Anua to day with a couple of stop offs. Awesome scenery all the way.Just had our lunch so we found the cache instead!Nice hide in good order, thank you for placing
Looks like GAYNOR just walked out of the kitchen without cleaning if down. Miss Em and I brought Nana and Koro with us today to complete the line of caches along the lake. TFTCsand flys were hungry today.
It took a while to find, but suddenly we understood the hint and could find it!Nice old waggons
We were travelling from Wanaka to Te Anau and had picked up a few caches en route. It was nearing lunchtime and we wanted to stop somewhere nice for lunch. I earmarked a few caches around the lake in Kingston. We went into the nearby cafe by the old station and got ourselves a coffee to eat with our sandwiches. Checked my phone and had to look twice to see a cache placed by anytar. Blow me down we travel under 12,000 miles to find a cache placed by a London cacher. Soon we were crawling underneath as we could leave without finding the cache. Soon spotted the cache. Admin performed and replaced as found. All good here. FAV point awarded. TFTC
TFTC took a while and had to read other comments but quickly found when did was at other end from coords
I searched and searched and tried to understand the hint. Gave up, got into the van where my sister had pulled up nearby and she says 'did you say it was green? there's something green over there'. So of course I had a look and sure enough, there was the cache! Tried to replace so it was a bit less visible! Thanks!
Down from Northland on a road trip with dodge 1923,,,stopped for a coffee at the Flyer….windy day and no muggles at GZ which helped with the hunt…..very fun tricky hide found. Thanks for the cache.FP for creativity and GZ..love the railway history.
Will definitely be back to lion for that one. Too many muggles and we were on the clock so DNF
This was a real tricky one. I think we would have given up but we didn’t want to lose face with the CO. Kathwood2003 eventually winkled it out. Tftc!
Yes it would have been a bit embarrassing if we had come away empty handed from here. We gained some inspiration from previous logs and found this eventually! TFTC!
This location had something for everyone - beer for jup, trains for Bill, and geocaching for me. This DNF was disappointing, but luckily there was just enough time to find another cache before our lunch arrived.
Actually found this a couple of days ago, but forgot to log it.
We're staying at our sons in Kingston & walk by this one on the daily dog walk. We tried several times to locate this one. So happy to finally get our hands on this sneaky little hide. Thanks for placing this cache.

I believe the CO is now "geo-populating" the city I live in, so I was pleased to find his nickname here. The first part of the hint doesn't apply anymore, but the container is alive and well. Tftc!
Found on a late morning-early afternoon walk on this beautiful trail. Here it took us good 10 minutes of searching before we correctly interpreted the hint, tftc
Out and about enjoying the hidden gems of our country. On a weekend out with DownSouthInv, AnnieLin, AbbyKitt in Queenstown and Kingston.
Did managed to finally locate the cache ..... very well hidden Tftc

The slopes were a bit of a white out so after lunch headed south to find a coffee. The nearby train cafe dies a good flat white but needs to expand its range of cakes. The caramel slice was good but a slab of apple cake drizzled in fresh cream would have been much better. We lucked out at the cache closest to the cafe so wandered over to the lonely carriage. Looked for about 10 minutes in the drizzling rain without luck. Thanks for the challenge but it best us today.
Took the advice of the previous finder and did the walks. Second attempt was successful. All good. Thanks
Road trip from Rotorua North Island. Another South island cache found.
This was our second time here today. It eluded us the first time. Second time done and dusted after did the track. Woohoo

A couple of days ago... we felt like a really good day of travelling and exploring... no - make that a couple of days!
So, off we set to Milford Sound, followed by Te Anau and a few places (like this one!) in-between to end things off!
A lot of driving, but certainly worth it - there is no doubt about that.
Now we were on the way back to Queenstown. We had to have a quick look around Kingston as it really is a beautiful place!
Drove down toward GZ and spotted the likely place the cache would be hidden... we were right!
Had to try both ends of 'the object' - but when on the Kingston town end we struck gold... er... the cache we mean.
Cache in great condition - really nice hide thanks anytar!

Thanks for the cache, anytar

It required a lot of groveling around and sandflies that found the spots without repellent. We just about gave up.
I found this cache during a Mum Taxi service.
Unfortunately they had to abandon their trip an a few hours into the walk due to sickness.
Two of my children are walking the Routeburne. So I offered my services for drop off at the Glenorchy end and am picking them up at the TeAnau end. I invited Jude_E along for company, so we'll be taking a few detours along the way.
Thanks for hiding this caches anytar I appreciate it.

Nosynel and I are having a caching trip now after our taxi service for Routeburn drop off and collect became unnecessary due to one of the trampers becoming ill and them leaving the track.
Wow this was a hard one! We resorted to paf but that didn't help too much and actually Nosynel spotted it eventually. Hooray! A few spider webs in our hair and the odd sandfly bite but worth it in the end. Thanks for the hide.

daywalk was working at one end of the structure while my GPSr directed me to the other where I quickly spotted it. Mr daywalk tucked it away so it wasn't so visible to passing muggles. Thanks for placing.
This took me longer than it should have because once I was finally looking in the right place it was an easy find. So not sure if it is still hidden as intended. Lots of very hungry sandflies that were very pleased to have me hanging around! TFTC # 17,623
Another lovely spot here in Kingston and a quick cache find here. Took some nice pics and then off again. TFTC!!!
Stayed nearby overnight, here first thing in the morning, only a group of Westies out and about (rebel98, gorby, FMZ and bony bruce)
Wandered over to GZ, went fishing and we soon had the cache.
Lovely pictures taken, the light bouncing off the trees, and rocks.
Thanks for the hide anytar, and for bringing us here, a fun find

A trip has been planned for 4 days away (1-4th May, 2021) to collect all off “RIMA” – part of the Pokai Whenua Geo Tour in the bottom third of the South Island including Stewart Island. This time round, there is myself, rustynz, Rebel98, FMZ and his skeleton called Bruce. We have picked up a car at Dunedin airport and will return there.
Popped here again, this time to show rusty and FMZ the hide, Rebel and I did this awhile ago.

Came for an enjoyable walk along here this afternoon after completing the new PWGT caches in the area. I thought this might be a “needle in haystack” sort of exercise but I found it very quickly. Signed log, TFTC.
Found it this time, don't know why I failed several times before, it wasn't that hard.!
Today was the day to grab Kingston Caches - this took us longer than it should have! I wonder if this carriage was part of my bridal train 21 years ago (on 21st) - such wonderful memories!
So sad to see the Kingston Flyer sitting in a shed with its badges removed. Still it would be a lot harder to find the cache racing along at 80 kph .
